ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 8, 2021.

Escaping their land’s destruction, the Kaptarish, Drontas, Verbaren, and Ninfires have reached the island of Gambir. The last families with talents like mind-reading, extraordinary force, burning with their hands, and flying, hope to find refuge in this place.

Yarisha, the only mind-reader in the Verbaren family, will fall in love with Malakay, the most arrogant sibling in the Ninfire family. She knows the young man’s mother and the matriarch of the Ninfires, Mandely, will never consent to this relationship since she considers the Verbaren family inferior to them.

None of the members in the families expect to find a land full of secrets where those with the darkest looking-skin have better chances to survive and where the leader, Ian, is planning to take wives by force.

REVIEW:A Fantasy/Dystopian style of book which was really good. A new author for me, and one I’ll be keeping an eye on. A fast paced book in which supernatural families fight to survive.

These families all have different abilities, and all think they are superior to one another.

We start with families fleeing their homes to a new island. It’s a scary time for everyone, characters are vying for leadership, some embrace it, whilst others don’t really want it.

It did remind me a little of swallows and Amazons, but with the characters being a little older it’s also a little like Robinson Crusoe. The squabbling within the families as they set up hierarchy was interesting. Each family is different and that was handy as you don’t want to get them mixed up.

Yarisha and Malakay are the main characters that are in this book. Both from opposing families, both aren’t really suppose to be together, Yarisha is a strong personality and a girl that knows her mind, a leader in her family (but she’s unsure of her role) she knows that she has to get the approval of Malakay’s mother (which is going to be near impossible) Malakay is a complex character who grows within this book.

Uniting families seem like the best plan, the more there are of you, the better your chances of survival. But if you despise everyone around you, how will that be possible?

Multiple points of view can sometimes confuse the reader (I know it does me?) but I never got that with this book, you know who is who with every word written. A complex world and it’s cast soon emerges, and your quickly drawn in.

We then also have the faction that wants to lead EVERYONE. He’s not a nice guy a d it soon emerges that he wants a harem to rebuild his family, but he’s looking at the other families to complete his harem! So that means there will be fighting as the families don’t really wave to give up women to his group!

We also have eyes that are watching the proceedings! Are these friends or foes?

I loved reading this book and hope there will be another as there are so many other characters and stories that could be told.

Intending to flip it for profit, she travels to a quaint burrow in the middle of nowhere and becomes the talk of the town. REVIEW:HAUNTED REAL ESTATE : WHERE’S GARY is the first instalment in JC Valentine’s contemporary, adult HAUNTED REAL ESTATE cozy mystery series focusing on assistant editor Claire Montgomery, and handyman Jed Sprague..

Told from first person perspective (Claire) HAUNTED REAL ESTATE: WHERE’S GARY follows assistant editor Claire Montgomery and her journey to Pennsylvania, where she is about to rehab an old house, left to her by her late aunt Edna but Claire never expected to walk into a money pit, or find herself in the middle of a what every one believed to be a haunted house. Meeting her closest neighbor Jed Sprague, gives Claire some added incentive and courage but neither one expected to witness the unbelievable, or what they would find after in the process of cleaning up.

HAUNTED REAL ESTATE is a quick read; a novella length story that introduces Claire Montgomery and the man with whom she will fall in love, townie Jed Sprague. For years, stories surrounded the possibility of ghosts inhabiting her aunt’s old home, and a library research would reveal a heart breaking and sad story behind the original owners. The premise is simple and easy; the characters are delightful; the romance is implied.

My feet halted as my eyes caught a flash of movement on the stairs. Just a shadow, there and gone in a blink, disappearing beyond the banister before my mind could register what it had seen.
Quickly, I pushed my senses out, eyes and ears scanning for anything out of place. There was no creak of the stairs, no sound of movement beyond the occasional swish of bathwater. To the untrained ears and eyes, one would assume we were alone.
But I knew better. My sixth sense was telling me I wasn’t mistaken. I’d seen something. Before I could start calling myself crazy again, I decided enough was enough. It was time to investigate.
“There are no ghosts, Claire,” I reminded myself as I dug my phone out of my back pocket and located the flashlight mode, sending a blinding beam of light shooting across the floor.
Marching across the first floor to the foot of the stairs, I peered up the tall staircase, listening. Again, I was met with the same basic sounds. My heart was thudding harder than usual, my breath coming a little faster than I’d like, exposing my climbing nerves.
“Freaking Gary,” I said aloud, a reminder as much as a reassurance that ghosts didn’t exist and I was being ridiculous. It was obvious the only thing going on around here was the invasion of a mischievous feline. Nothing more.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are…” I hummed as I began climbing the stairs. They creaked under every foot, no matter how careful I tried to be. Yeah, there was no way a human could have traversed them without announcing to all and sundry their presence. “Mew, mew, mew, mew, mew.”
Yep, it was final. I was an idiot. Not exactly an animal person, I had no clue what I was doing. Did that even work on cats? I’d seen it while watching one of my favorite Ben Stiller movies and it made sense. Cats weren’t exactly complicated creatures. Offer a little treat and they came running.
Which reminded me I needed to put out some tuna.
So why the hell was I pursuing this thing when I could put forth far less effort and let it come to me?
Right, boredom. Almost forgot about that.
Continuing my assent, my foot crested the top stair when I heard the distinctive moaning creak of a door closing. My eyes and ears working together immediately honed in on the target: the largest of three bedrooms to my immediate right.
I wasn’t prepared for what I saw.
The tall shadow standing in the thin gap of the partially opened doorway stared back at me, no discernable features or detail that I could make out, yet I knew, beyond a doubt, that it was watching me…and it didn’t feel friendly.
In fact, the sheer terror that exploded through my veins forced out a shocked gasp followed by a screech that I’d never heard come out of my own mouth.
Time seemed to stand still as I watched the door begin to eek open, that terrifying sound of the dry hinges scraping against every nerve ending like nails down a chalkboard, working on my psyche to the point of hysteria.
“Claire? What’s wrong?” I heard Jed’s voice from a distance, almost as if I stood in a vacuum, engaged in a silent showdown with what I could no longer deny was an otherworldly figure that I was certain was out to harm me.
But why? What made me the target? Why not Jed? He was a man. Us women had to stick together. Besides, I was only here for a short time. Just long enough to get the house back in top form and then I’d be outta here.
Maybe Mrs. Moore wants everything to stay exactly how she left it…
“Claire?”
My head whipped around, panicked gaze landing on Jed’s tall, lithe form, still glistening with moisture from his bath. The towel wrapped around his waist—a white, fluffy one I’d bought at the general store—barely hiding his naughty bits, the split gaping open around his thigh teasing at the hidden treasures beneath as it flapped open and closed with every hurried step he took.
“I—I—” Clearly, my voice had abandoned me, making me stutter like a fool. So I resorted to signalling instead, pointing out the problem.
Jed’s worried frown followed my finger to the doorway, and in an instant, the color in his face washed away. “Holy—”
The sudden slam of the bedroom door shook the plaster walls, ripping another scream from my lips. Nerves jarred, it happened all at once in a domino effect: I reached for the banister cap as my legs turned to rubber noodles and I lost my footing. Jed leaped into action, lunging forward with his arms outstretched to catch me. His towel broke free from his hips, floating to the floor, leaving his dangly bits free to dance at will. The stairs, thankfully, broke my fall.
All twenty-two of them.
As I bounced and tumbled my way back to the first floor, I couldn’t help but wonder…would Jed kiss my boo-boos and make it all better, or was this the final nail in the coffin, so to speak?
Guess we’d find out…after I regained consciousness.

With danger on its inevitable way, is this the end for the star-crossed couple?

Masters’ Promise is the steamy third book in The Angel Eyes futuristic dystopian cowboy romance series. If you like captivating characters, forbidden desire, and dark twists, then you’ll adore Jamie Schulz’s riveting read.

•••••••

REVIEW:MASTERS’ PROMISE is the third full-length instalment in Jamie Schulz’ adult ANGEL EYES post-apocalyptic, dystopian, dark romance series. This is ranch owner Angel Aldridge, and Bret Masters’ continuing story line. MASTERS’ PROMISE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events of book two MASTERS’ ESCAPE

WARNING: Due to the graphic nature of the story line premise including rape, torture, slavery, violence, and abuse, there will be triggers for more sensitive readers

SOME BACKGROUND: Several years earlier a catastrophic war destroyed cities and towns throughout the world, and ‘changed the social order’ between men and women. In the ensuing aftermath, a second civil war, between the sexes in America, resulted in women becoming the dominant, deviant and controlling sex, while men were reduced to slaves to be used and abused.

Told from several third person perspectives including Bret and Angel MASTERS’ PROMISE continues to focus on the tempestuous relationship between ranch owner Angel Aldridge, and her slave Bret Masters. Bret Masters has struggled in the years since the social order of the world upended itself making women the dominant sex in a world controlled by torture and abuse. Trust was difficult, and trusting his ‘master’ Angel Aldridge went from bad to worse when Bret found himself fighting for his life, believing the woman with whom he was falling in love, would protect him from further suffering and pain. Angel had promised never to hurt Bret, or the other ‘slaves’ that worked and lived on her ranch but hurt came in many forms, and Bret was constantly on the receiving end of heart breaking pain, both emotional and physical.

Angel Aldridge is a woman struggling with the new social order of the world but to not follow the new dictates means lives are on the line including the men and women who live on her ranch. Angel is emotionally and physically weak, and mentally unprepared for the horrors of the abuse inflicted by others, and in this, Angel has left Bret Masters open to be hurt, once again. Having loved and lost, Angel battles between head and heart, leaving Bret Masters in the direct line of fire.

MASTERS’ PROMISE is a graphically detailed and violent, heart breakingly painful, and complex story of power and abuse, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and psychotic cruelty. Each story line delves deeper into the inhumanity and barbarity of the women now in control-an almost giddy depravity of a mindset that is desperate for vengeance and retribution for sins of the past. One has to dig deep into the darkness to find the trigger that allows for such a need to hurt and destroy. MASTERS’ PROMISE ends on a cliff hanger-NOT a happily ever after for now, as stated in the online blurbs…MASTERS’ PROMISE ends with one sadistic woman’s need to humiliate, defile, and abuse, and Angel claims to be powerless to help the man that she loves.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 14, 2021

I swore no one would ever have that kind of power over me again…

Elijah Banks is a textbook playboy. On the outside, he was cut from the perfect mold—stunning good looks, beachside mansion, secretive job, sexual notoriety. On the inside, he’s bitter and hurt and has sworn to never be the victim of a lying, cheating, using woman again.

Hannah Farsey is the family good girl. Not but choice, but by fate’s design. When she becomes Elijah’s houseguest and obvious object of his desire, she’s determined to not let a childhood nightmare be the narrative of at least one relationship in her life. But when your secret is this big…your burden this heavy…fate doesn’t hand over control so easily. A lesson Hannah’s about to learn the hard way.

Will this too-good-to-be-true man’s overwhelming and all-consuming feelings for her go the distance while she endures more upheaval in her life? Or will he cut bait and run and prove Hannah was just another one of Elijah’s Whims?

REVIEW:ELIJAH’S WHIM by Victoria Blue is the seventh instalment in the contemporary, adult SHARK’S EDGE erotic, romantic suspense series, and the first instalment in Hannah and Elijah’s story . This is caterer/chef Hannah Farley, and billionaire businessman / security specialist Elijah Banks’ story line. ELIJAH’S WHIM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and history.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Hannah and Elijah) ELIJAH’S WHIM picks up several months after the events of Grant’s Blaze (Shark’s Edge 6). Elijah Banks is the third member of a business triangle co-owned with Grant Twombley and Sebastian Shark. With the partners, and their significant others and friends, targeted by any number of desperate individuals, Elijah Banks has set into motion a plan to protect our story line heroine and her family but Elijah’s past refuses to let go, and Hannah’s past may be coming for vengeance. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Hannah and Elijah, and the potential fall-out as every measure of protection and safety Elijah put into place, has been over ridden or destroyed by demons from the past.

Hannah Farley’s past is mired in darkness, and in this, our heroine struggles to forgive and forget but Hannah’s past has resurfaced, and in this Elijah is determined to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love. Staying with Elijah Banks pushes our couple closer together but Hannah is no submissive, and she refuses to bow or bend for any man, Elijah Banks doesn’t do relationships, and in this, his past refuses to let go. When our heroine is targeted by an unknown threat, Elijah goes into alpha mode, in an effort to ensure Hannah’s safety but the threat may be coming from two different directions.

The relationship between Hannah and Elijah is a frenemies to lovers, a mutual friends relationship in which Hannah battles between head and heart knowing Elijah’s reputation precedes their time together. Hannah is desperate to keep her distance but demons from the past continue to push at our heroine’s sense of safety and self-worth, and Elijah is the perfect port in the proverbial storm that is coming their way. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, used regularly throughout the story .

The secondary and supporting characters include Hannah’s boss and Grant’s love Rio Gibson; Elijah’s business partners Grant Twombley, and Sebastian Shark; Sebasitan’s executive assistant Carmen; Hannah’s parents, her sisters, and several security personnel.

ELIJAH’S WHIM is a story of secrets, betrayal, vengeance and obsession. The premise is intriguing, captivating and energetic-but the author tends to drag out certain plot points such that questions are asked but have to be answered; the romance is seductive and erotic; the characters are lively, charismatic, determined and desperate. ELIJAH’S WHIM ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

REVIEW:MY SUMMER IN SEOUL by Rachel Van Dyken is a stand alone, contemporary, new adult, romance story line focusing on Korean/American music intern Grace Lee, and K-Pop superstar/ lead singer Lucas Baek.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including issues of eating disorders and suicide, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person persepctives (Grace and Lucas) MY SUMMER IN SEOUL follows twenty-two year old, Korean /American Grace Lee in Seoul, South Korea, where she is hired by her ‘uncle’ to intern for the scandal ridden K-Pop group SWT (Something Worth Taking). Having graduated with a degree in music production, and no prospects for a job in America, Grace is stunned when her Korean uncle offers her a three month internship in Seoul, South Korea. Upon her arrival, Grace quickly discovers she is out of her element, naïve and ill-prepared for a country whose belief systems and business ethics are beyond anything Grace could have ever imagined. Immediately snubbed by everyone, including the members of the SWT, Grace finds herself on the outside looking in as even the language barrier feels like a personal attack. When Lucas Baek, lead singer and face of the group, takes a personal dislike and hatred towards our story line heroine, Grace must endeavor as lives are on the line, and the group’s mental health is fragile at best. What ensues is the slow building romance and relationship between Grace and Lucas, and the fall-out as South Korea’s ethics and morals are not conducive to a ‘boy band’ romance.

Lucas Baek is struggling to recover from a scandal that has disgraced our leading hero and affected all of the members of SWT. Fans have turned against Lucas Baek, and our hero is battling the will to carry on. Meeting Grace Lee throws Lucas into another spiral; a tail spin of hatred and jealousy, envy and lust when Lucas finds himself falling for our story line heroine but he may not be the only member of the group desiring a relationship with American Grace Lee.

The relationship between Grace and Lucas begins acrimoniously. Lucas despises Grace’s lack of ‘grace’; her naivety about the industry and Korean culture; and most of all, his attraction to a woman that could destroy his career. Grace had no idea she was to intern for the superstars of K-Pop but thrown head first into the proverbial lion’s den meant there were going to be a few bumps and mistakes along the way. But..Grace had no idea the furor that was about to erupt when another member of the group takes aim at our storyline heroine. The $ex scenes turn to black and are mostly implied.

We are introduced to the members of the group, all with secrets that cannot be revealed. Each member has his own quirks and foibles, likes and dislikes, a different personality that is suppressed by management, and the people in charge. Here’s hoping the author has plans to write a story for each member of the group as other love interests and attractions are slowly revealed throughout the story.

MY SUMMER IN SEOUL is an emotional and heart breaking eye-opener into the unreality of a K-Pop star, established and in the making. The competition is brutal and fierce; the strict guidelines and regimen including relationships, food, public appearance and private lives is tightly controlled by the people in charge. Anybody wavering outside of the rules is questioned about loyalty and strength, and in this, Lucas will take the fall for something out of his control. Fans turns viscous and cruel, leaving Lucas on the precipice of ending it all.

Because I Can (Necklace Trilogy 2) by Lisa Renee Jones-Review & Excerpt tour

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Chapters Indigo / Apple /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 14 ,2021

Allison’s journey continues as she finds herself in a dark, seductive world, and everything she thought she knew about herself, has changed.

Torn between past and present, she is still a prisoner of her own fears and inhibitions. But as the mystery of the necklace and the missing woman who owned it evolves, one man will help Allison see the light.

But where will that lead her? To him? Or someplace else?

••••••••

REVIEW: BECAUSE I CAN is the second instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult NECKLACE erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on former FBI agent turned author Dash Black, and former editor turned museum cataloguer Allison ‘Allie’ Wright. BECAUSE I CAN should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliffhanger of books one WHAT IF I NEVER. There is a slight cross over with the author’s INSIDE OUT series.

SOME BACKGROUND: Allison Wright’s arrival at Hawk Legal finds our heroine facing reclusive billionaire Tyler Hawk, who offers Allie a temporary position organizing an upcoming charity auction, a position recently held by another Allison but the delivery of a priceless necklace pushes Allie to begin an investigation into the woman no one can find, the woman who was the intended recipient of the diamond necklace. As our heroine enters into her three month position, she will meet charismatic author Dash Black, the man with whom Allie will fall in love but all is not well between Dash and Tyler, and Allie becomes a pawn in a game of one-upmanship between the two men trying to control her life.

Told from first person perspective (Allie) BECAUSE I CAN picks up immediately after the events of book one wherein someone has broken into Allie’s temporary apartment, an apartment currently owned by Tyler Hawk. In an ongoing effort to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love, former FBI agent turned author Dash Black pushes Allie to move into his place, where he can better protect our story line heroine but Allie isn’t one to jump at commands, and finds herself focused on running when Dash begins to push too hard. As Dash prepares for a meet and greet in New York, Allie discovers the other Allison’s journal, a journal that creates more questions than answers. What ensues is the continuing romance and relationship between Dash and Allie, and the potential fall-out as both of their pasts collide, forcing Dash to push Allie out of his life.

BECAUSE I CAN continues to focus on the building romance and relationship between Dash and Allison Wright, Allison’s employment with Riptide vs Hawk Legal, and the search for the truth into the whereabouts of the original Allison W. As Dash’s past resurfaces with the intent to make trouble, Allie’s past intends to make our heroine pay for sins of the father. The fast paced premise is intriguing, captivating and provocative; the romance is edgy and intense; the characters are lively, spirited, powerful and flawed. BECAUSE I CAN ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

There is s a familiar feel and presentation to the series. For fans of Lisa Renee Jones, the NECKLACE TRILOGY is similar in premise and comparable to the author’s INSIDE OUT SERIES.

“You’re always one push from being out the door. We just did that. Are we going to do it again?”“You’re pushing now,” I say. “That’s the point. You know you’re pushing me. Is that what you want? Because we both know whatever this is, doesn’t fit into your rule book for women.”

“The rule book was gone the minute I met you, Allie. And damn straight I’m pushing you, but not away. To be safe.”

“It feels like more.”

“Because you want it to.”

“Because it is,” I insist.

“No. You’re looking for a reason to run.”

“Oh my God, stop saying that to me, Dash. Because I’m angry at you does not mean I’m going to run or stop lo—” I catch myself before I confess way too much, before I confess my love for him. What am I doing? I try to deflect from my slip up. “Stop saying that to me.”

He reaches around me and opens the door. Before I know his intent, we’re inside the tiny bathroom meant for one, and he’s locking the door.

“We can’t be in here, Dash,” I whisper urgently. “Adrianna will be looking for us.”

“And yet, we are,” he says, his fingers tangling in my hair, tilting my gaze to his as he says, “I’m just making sure you know there’s nowhere to run. I’ll follow. That’s what you’ve done to me, Allie. That’s how much you’ve taken from me.”

“Taken?” I demand. “That’s what I’m doing?”

“Yeah, baby, but it had to be that way. And I like it. Say what you were going to say. You’re not going to stop what?”

“Wanting you.”

His lips curve, his breath a warm tease on my lips. “Well just know this, Allie, I won’t stop wanting you either.”

My God, did we just tell each other we love each other in a public bathroom? “Dash,” I whisper. “Dash, what are we doing?”

“This,” he says, and his mouth closes down on mine again. And just like that, he’s kissing me with such intensity, such passion, I can only moan. I have a vague moment when I realize this is still about control. His control, not my control. The problem is I like it when he’s in control. I like his kisses. I like the way his hands feel on my body and when my skirt is at my waist, and only when my skirt is at my waist, do I jolt back to reality. I catch his wrists. “We can’t.”

“Until we do,” he says, cupping my face, kissing me again, Lord help me, his hand is between my legs, pressing under the silk of my panties.

REVIEW:TWELVE NAUGHTY NIGHTS is an erotic holiday romance collection of twelve short stories set in the featured author’s established series-the perfect venue to catch up on some of our favorite series and couples.

ONE CRUEL WEDDING NIGHT by KA LINDE

ONE CRUEL WEDDING NIGHT is an adult stand alone, erotic, short story set in KA Linde’s CRUEL world. This is heir to the Percy Hotel chain Camden Percy, and heiress Katherine Van Pelt’s story line. For Camden and Katherine’s back story, I recommend reading KA Linde’s CRUEL series.

Told from dual first person perspective (Katherine and Camden) ONE CRUEL WEDDING NIGHT focuses on the marriage night, a marriage of convenience between our leading couple. Katherine’s father defrauded the IRA and his business and millions in ruin, and Camden has offered to ‘save’ our heroine in return for her complete surrender. Katherine knows Camden to be cruel but never expected to fall for the man that now controlled her life.

Vera Tana claims to be the ex girlfriend of Lord Byron Astley but said Lord has retained all of Vera’s possessions. Bryna offers the special set of skills of her husband, skills Lucas hasn’t used for a very long time but something about Vera is familiar, and Lucas isn’t about to blindly go into a job.

NINE LADIES DANCING by CD Reiss

NOTE: NINE LADIES DANCING is not connected to any of CD Reiss’ existing series.

NINE LADIES DANCING by CD Reiss is an erotic, sci-if short story focusing Gillian ‘Gilly’ Bardot and Brian. Told from first person perspective (Brian) NINE LADIES DANCING finds Brian asking permission to marry Gilly Bardot but not all or everyone is as they appear to be. With the influx of AI (artificial intelligence) manufactured by Allied Mechanical Intelligence Systems, Brian is unsure as to who is real, and who is a bot. Gillian suggests Brian test the waters but in the end, nothing is clear, everything remains muddy.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 14, 2021.

Remi Carter has survived her fifteen minutes of fame and is putting LA in her rearview mirror. As a former reality show contestant, she’s trading staged expeditions and faked wilderness tours for real adventures. Only one fluke storm in Glacier National Park has her stranded with a handsome man, and adventure takes on a whole new meaning.

Seth King is as rugged and sexy as he is annoyed to be trapped with Remi. Probably because she ghosted him at the local bar not three days ago. But she’s got her reasons for ditching him, and twenty-four hours in an abandoned Montana cabin with the wildlife biologist isn’t nearly enough time to explain.

As tempting as he is by firelight, she’s been burned too many times.

Except one day together and suddenly her travel van doesn’t hold as much appeal. The open road feels lonely. Remi’s about to learn that shelter is more than a safe place to weather a storm.

Shelter might just be the man himself. If he can give her a reason to stay.

REVIEW:SHELTER is the second instalment in Kristen Proby’s contemporary, adult HEROES OF BIG SKY erotic, romance series, a cross over/ spin off from the author’s LOVE UNDER THE BIG SKY series. This is twenty-seven year old, rancher/ Park Ranger Seth King, and reality television star Remi Carter’s story line. SHELTER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Seth King is the son of Zach King (Falling for Jillian) and was first introduced, as a teen, in book one LOVING CARA of the original series.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the storyline premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Remi and Seth) using present day and memories from the past, SHELTER follows the building romance and relationship between twenty-seven year old, rancher Seth King, and reality television star Remi Carter. Remi Carter is a former reality television, ultimate athlete who is currently touring the country by herself when she stops in Cunningham Falls, Montana, with the desire to visit Glacier National Park but a freak September snow storm finds Remi cabin bound with Park Ranger Seth King, in the wake of Seth’s warning not to walk the park alone. Upon their return, Seth offers Remi a place to stay, in an effort to get to know our storyline heroine. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Seth and Remi, and the potential fall-out as Seth has no plans for a happily ever after, and Remi is offered another shot at the ultimate crown.

Seth King’s past has affected his view of marriage and kids, and in this he has no plans for a family but meeting Remi Carter gives Seth pause for thought, thoughts of what if, or why. Remi Carter’s earlier years were no conducive to a happy childhood but Remi wasn’t going to let her past affect her relationships for the future.

The relationship between Remi and Seth is one of immediate attraction; a small town, close proximity relationship in which appearances and Seth’s overwhelmingly large family threaten Remi’s hold on her sanity. Time spent together means revealing demons from the past, demons Seth had struggled to acknowledge with family or friends. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Several characters cross-over from the author’s LOVE UNDER THE BIG SKY series including Zack and Jillian, Josh and Cara, grandma Nancy King, as well as several nieces, nephews, siblings and cousins, and Remi’s new boss and deli owner Annie.

SHELTER is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; a story of betrayal and survival, acceptance and moving forward. The fast paced, character driven premise is captivating and encouraging; the characters are feisty, and energetic; the romance is spirited, and provocative.
