REVIEW: FAITH’S TEARS is the twelfth instalment in EC Land’s contemporary, adult INFERNO’S CLUTCH MC erotic, MC, romance series . This is VP Axel DeVere, and his wife/ol’ lady Faith’s story line. FAITH’S TEARS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Axel and Faith), covering several years in the life of our couple, FAITH’S TEARS follows the romance and relationship between VP Axel DeVere, and his wife/ol’ lady Faith. Faith fell in love with Axel years before-still in high school and under aged, Axel bided his time before claiming our story line heroine, a claim that placed Faith in the direct line of fire. An attack against Axel had our hero pushing the woman he loved out of his life, out of his life for several years. Rekindling their relationship continued with announcement of their third child, a rekindling that once again marked our heroine for another attack. Desperate to protect his growing family, Axel called in reinforcements including his father who had been in prison for several years. What ensues is the ongoing relationship between Axel and Faith, and the potential fall-out as a stalker threatens to destroy the woman Axel has always loved.

The relationship between Axel and Faith continues to develop in the face of separation and years apart. Axel has never stopped loving our story line heroine, a woman who is struggling to move on from the past. Issues of trust including Axel’s over zealous need to protect the woman he loves, begin to push all of Faith’s buttons when her freedom is curtailed, and her life on the line. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar characters including several of the previous story line couples, the return of Rico DeVere, and a rival gang threatening to take over the MC territory. The requisite evil has many faces.

FAITH’S TEARS is a fast paced, character driven story of obsession and madness, desperation and love. The premise is captivating; the romance is provocative; the characters are charismatic and dynamic.

LYRICA’S LASTING should not be read as a stand alone, I recommend reading the series in order, or at the very least FUSE’S HOLD #7, as many of the events of Lyrica’s Lasting are as of a direct result of events from several of the previous story lines. The author re-establishes and re-examines many of the plot lines that are important to the current story but sometimes a cursory review is never enough 😉 .

Told from several first person perspectives including Lyrica and Fuse LYRICA’S LASTING spans several years, and focuses on the building relationship between Fuse and Lyrica. Lyrica has struggled most of her life, suffering atrocities, losses, rapes, injuries and assaults but as the years pass, Lyrica settles into her relationship and love with Fuse always hoping for something more. The time has come for Lyrica and Fuse to think about a family, and in the wake of months as a prisoner of a $ex trafficking ring, Lyrica is unable to conceive but the past refuses to let go, and all plans for a future are threatened when vengeance is at the forefront of destroying our story line couple.

LYRICA’S LASTING is a complex story line with overlapping premises from several previous series instalments. Past events culminate forcing Lyrica and Fuse to take steps in an effort to protect their future but secrets and surprises reveal much more than anyone could have ever imagined. The fast paced premise is haunting, twisted and tragic; the characters are struggling, determined, and stubborn; the relationship is frantic and intense. LYRICA’S LASTING ends on a cliff hanger- you have been warned.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Raya and Liam) MISTAKE MADE follows in the wake of the abduction and captivity of our story line heroine. Liam Stone sees red when the young woman he approaches spurns his attempts at flirting and seduction. Determined to own our story line heroine, Liam drugs and kidnaps said woman, unaware she is the daughter of a presidential candidate. Four weeks in hiding find our heroine falling for the man who is all kinds of wrong, the man whose life she will protect in the face of her own safety. What ensues is the Stockholm Syndrome relationship between Raya and Liam, and the potential fall-out when their whereabouts are discovered and Liam pushes Raya out of his life.

Raya Reed has never been loved; she is a prop in her parent’s fight for the ultimate control, a prop whose life is about to spiral out of control. Trapped with a man she knows nothing about, Raya realizes better to be imprisoned then freedom at the cost of her own sanity. Liam Stone doesn’t do relationships. He is a mercenary, a killer, a man who has no conscience or moral code. Taking Raya , claiming her as his own, places Liam in the direct line of fire but there is no place in his life for a woman like our story line heroine.

The relationship between Liam and Raya is that of captor and captive-a sexually erotic relationship in which Liam takes total control Liam was angry, he was p*ssed that our heroine thought herself above everyone else, and in an effort to prove she was nothing more than fodder, Liam took control, including forcing Raya to do as he commands. The $ex scenes are erotic, dramatic and intense with scenes of questionable consent.

The secondary and supporting characters are limited. We are introduced to Raya’s parents Senator Thomas and Mrs. Reed; mercenaries Hollis, Nash and Fox, as well as the return of Angel and Laura (Lessons Learned 1). Hollis’ story line is next.

MISTAKES MADE is another dark, gritty, raw, and disturbing story of erotica, power and control. MISTAKES MADE is not for everyone due to the nature of the story line content. The premise is dramatic focusing on the unconventional relationship between our story line couple. The characters are broken, flawed and determined; the romance is virtually non-existent-Liam wields his power using discipline and control.

Let’s see…where to begin…

I’m inching up on the BIG 4-0. The gray hairs are doubling what seems like daily, and the wrinkles and laugh lines are more pronounced than ever.

I have an amazing husband (Married just over 15 years.)

We have two boys we’re doing our best to raise as respectful gentleman.

I have a master’s degree in criminal justice which I used to work as a juvenile probation office until deciding to write full-time in June of 2019. So that means there’s usually always some criminal/law element to my novels.

If I’m not writing; I’m reading.

My favorite genres recently are bully/reverse harem and enemies to lovers. Maybe I’m reliving my traumatic teen years through the girls who actually end up with the boys. (Not that I would change my history since it’s gotten me exactly where I need to be!)

I love coffee. I miss carbs. Music is LIFE. I try not to be too serious.

We are reintroduced to Miriam’s siblings: Levi, Zora, and Zora’s boyfriend / attorney Cyrus (Heated #1), as well as their parents Reginald and Monica Nelson; Jordan’s mother Grace , his estranged father Michael, and fellow NBA teammate/widower Daniel Granger.

RAVAGED is a story of family and friendships, honesty and heart break, acceptance and love. The premise is impassioned and engrossing but predictable ; the characters are animated, sassy and spirited; the romance is passionate.

“Why were you about to leave?” Jordan brushes his lips across my forehead, leaving a trail of fire in his wake. “No, let me guess. Got too close for you. Too real. And what do two people like us, who come from f*cked-up homes where we saw the worst people had to give to each other, know about intimacy, right? It scares the hell out of us. Or it should. And normally, it does. But not with you, Miriam. And you can feel safe with me. I won’t hurt you. Won’t use whatever you share with me against you. So don’t run. Stay.”
Stay.
A shudder ripples through me, and I don’t try to stifle it. Stay. I’ve been wanted for several reasons. My IQ. My talent. Sex.
But no one’s ever asked me to just be. And not with them.
For how long?

His eyes narrow, but he doesn’t speak. Yet my heart pounds in my chest, and the beat grows louder, the volume so deafening I can barely hear my own voice.

“Why not?” he asks, and that dark, low timbre is midnight and sin. Temptation wrapped in sex.

REVIEW: FOLK AROUND AND FIND OUT is the second instalment in Penny Reid’s contemporary, adult GOOD FOLK: MODERN FOLKTALES erotic, romance series-a spin off from the author’s WINSTON BROTHERS and KNITTING IN THE CITY series. This is exotic dance club owner Hank Weller, and divorcee/single mother/ teacher’s assistant Charlotte Mitchell’s story line. FOLK AROUND AND FIND OUT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Some of the characters from the original series cross over for back story and familiarity.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Charlotte and Hank) FOLK AROUND AND FIND OUT follows the building but tempestuous relationship between exotic dance club owner Hank Weller, and divorcee/single mother/ teacher’s assistant Charlotte Mitchell. Charlotte Mitchell need information, and applying to work at The Pink Pony is the perfect outlet for Charlotte’s needs but Charlotte, whose husband left her for a stripper he met at The Pink Pony, has no idea as to what she may be forced to do. Club owner Hank Weller knows only too well that Charlotte’s reputation will be destroyed so he offers her a position as bookkeeper, a position that forces Charlotte into Hank’s orbit. Hank and Charlotte’s reputations is acrimonious at best. Hank believes Charlotte sits in judgement of who he is, and the business he runs but Charlotte’s reasons for disliking Hank stem back years, years in which Hank no longer remembers what happened or why. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Hank and Charlotte, and the potential fall-out when Charlotte’s past returns, demanding everything and more.

Charlotte Mitchell is a single mother of four children under the age of seven, and her life is quickly spiralling out of control. Desperate for information, Charlotte is willing to ‘dance’ at The Pink Pony but getting up close and personal with her high school nemesis isn’t high on the list of Charlotte’s things to do. Hank Weller has no idea why Charlotte Mitchell despises the ground upon which he walks but believes she sits in judgement of his particular line of work. Suspecting Charlotte is not revealing the truth about the who, how and why, Hank offers Charlotte a job, placing our heroine in the direct link of fire.

The relationship between Charlotte and Hank is an enemies to frenemies to lovers in which Hank realizes Charlotte is the woman that calls to his heart but Hank’s lack of a successful relationship has him questioning his life choices going forward including falling for a woman, and her ready made family. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word in my romance story lines.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including Jackson and Raquel (Totally Folked 1), Beau and Shelly Winston , Jethro and Sienna Winston (Grin and Beard It 2), Cletus and Jenn Winston (Beard Science 3) as well as Charlotte’s four children, her mother, and exotic dancer turned bookkeeper Hannah.

FOLK AROUND AND FIND OUT is a story of discrimination, judgement, preconceived notions, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is entertaining, engaging and captivating; the romance is passionate and provocative; the characters are determined and energetic. The epilogue fast forwards the story line fifteen to eighteen years…

REVIEW: CRUEL CAPTOR is the third instalment in Kristen Luciani’s contemporary, adult VENGEFUL VILLAINS dark, erotic, Bratva romance series. This is twenty-five year old, Bratva princess/ romance writer Viktorya ‘Tori’ Malikov, and disgraced Bratva enforcer/heir Konstantin Romanov aka Mikhail Federov’s story line. CRUEL CAPTOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing story line throughout.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Tori and Konstantin/Mikhail CRUEL CAPTOR follows in the aftermath of the collapse of the Federov Bratva empire. Mikhail Federov demands revenge, retribution and reprisal in the wake of betrayal by, and the murder of his abusive father, a murder that set into motion the downfall of the Federov empire. Seeking vengeance Mikhail, now known as Konstantin Romanov kidnaps Viktorya Malikov, with the intention of claiming our heroine as his wife but all does not go according to plan when a feisty and well-trained Tori continues to battle the man with whom she will fall in love. There are more than two families warring for control of the once powerful Federvo Bratva, pitting the Malikov crime family against everyone involved. What ensues is the acrimonious but building relationship between Tori and Konstantin, and the potential fall-out as betrayal from within sets into motion a potential war from all sides.

The relationship between Tori and Konstantin is an enemies to lovers; a forced proximity relationship in which Tori is quick to find herself falling for her sexy captor. Tori is well trained in the ability to protect herself but no training is going to protect her heart against the man with whom she will fall in love. Konstantin Romanov seeks only revenge against the family that destroyed what was left of his organization, an organization that quickly collapsed with the death of his father, and a betrayal of trust. Marrying Tori means a second chance at power and control but there is someone else waiting to assume a position at the top. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters include Konstantin’s brother Gregor, and their head of security Lev, as well as the return of Alek Severinov, Nik, Luka and Taras Malikov. The requisite evil is familiar.

CRUEL CAPTOR is a story of betrayal and vengeance, submission and acceptance, death and destruction, power and control. The premise is dark and dramatic; the romance turbulent and hot; the characters are broken, dynamic and struggling to survive. CRUEL CAPTOR ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

We are re-introduced to the Wild Widows members: Roni and Derek (Someone Like You 1) Adrian, Brielle, Naomi, Aurora, Lexi, Kinsley, Hallie and Christy-all of whom have a tragic story of love and loss.

SOMEONE TO HOLD is a story of grief and loss, secrets and lies, betrayal and heart break, acceptance and love. The premise is emotional and powerful; the romance is seductive and impassioned; the characters are determined, struggling but moving forward. SOMEONE TO HOLD ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
