If you thought you learned more about the dangerous and sexy alpha vampire, Bones, in The Other Half of the Grave, you haven’t seen anything yet…

Cat disappeared from Bones’ life to protect him, but this Master vampire will keep his promise to find her.

Two hundred years of bounty hunting made Bones the best at what he does, yet it’s still taken him four long years to find Cat, the half vampire now known as the “Red Reaper.” There’s a price on Cat’s head, and not even her job as a secret government agent can save her. Only Bones can. But has time hardened Bones too much to love again? Or will his passion for Cat burn through every obstacle—alive, undead, or otherwise—between them?

Review:

Both Feet in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost is the 8th book in her wonderful Night Huntress series. I have read and loved all of the Night Huntress series, which was one of my favorite paranormal series, written so very well by Jeaniene Frost.  I loved our heroes, Cat and Bones, as they were such a fantastic couple; with Bones being a Master Vampire, and Cat (known as the Red Reaper), being a Half Vampire. I could not wait to read Both Feet in Grave, which was in Bones’ POV, and happy to say I loved it.

It has been four years since Cat disappeared, when she left him to protect him. Bones finally finds her, using another name, but she is attending Denise’s wedding, and he plans to be there.  Bones had suffered during those 4 years, and when he sees her walking down the aisle, his love is still potent, and when Cat sees him, her eyes light up.  When the service is over, Bones convinces Cat that he will always be at her side, especially since someone is trying to kill her. Despite Cat’s concern, she cannot resist him, and the chemistry between them explodes.   Bones offers to join her team, and offers Don some of his powerful blood to increase their powers; though Cat wasn’t crazy about this, she convinces her team (Tate, Juan, Cooper and Don) to accept Bones.  He learns a lot about what the team does, and works closely with Cat.

Ian, who is Bones sire, is determined to make the Red Reaper his own, and Bones makes plans to trick Ian, and the man, Max, who was Bones father, who also was trying to kill her.  I will say I never liked Don, but I totally hated Cat’s mother, who was a horrible mother, and evil. I enjoyed seeing some of our previous favorites, such as Mencheres, Charles, Denise, and Ian.  We also learn more about Annette and Bones time together years ago. But most of all, it was great to see Cat and Bones fight their enemies. As much as I love Bones, I loved Cat, who was one of the best kick-assed heroines in the paranormal world.

Both Feet in the Grave was a fantastic addition to this series, as it was very exciting, action, intense and very steamy. Cat and Bones continue to be one of the best couples in the literary world. To tell too much more would be spoilers, and if you are a fan of the Night Huntress series, you need to read this book from start to finish. Both Feet in the Grave was so very well written by Jeaniene Frost.

Review:
Up from the Grave by Jeaniene Frost is the 7th and final book in her wonderful Night Huntress series.  I am a big fan of this series, having loved it from the start, and each year I would anxiously await a new book.  I was sad when Jeaniene told her fans, that she was writing the final book for our fabulous couple Cat and Bones.  But having come to terms with this ending, I could not wait to read it, and Jeaniene does not disappoint.  Up From the Grave was a great final book, very exciting, lots of action, some tense moments when you thought your loved characters would die, and seeing all of our friends again; not to mention spending more time with Cat & Bones, made this that much more enjoyable.

The story begins with Cat and Bones at their home enjoying their peaceful time, and each other. Then Cat’s uncle Don alerts her that her old teammates, Tate, Juan, Dave and Cooper are all missing.  They suspect that Madigan, the man who took over for Don, and runs the research compound (trying to create a unique army by uniting vampire and ghoul bloodlines) is behind their disappearance.  They investigate and end up where it all began in the first book, when our Cat Crawfield was just a half vampire, and leading the attack at killing vampires; she is and always will be The Red Reaper.

I do not want to give spoilers, even more so as this being the final book and I will not ruin it for anyone.  I will say that this is an exciting adventure with so many revelations, two villains, and a major major twist more then half way through.  There is so much action, and it was fun just to see the old Cat fight against her enemies, even if at times dangerously close to be scary.  She is one of the best kick-assed heroines in the paranormal world. I loved Bones helping Cat, and they prove once again what a great team they are, besides a wonderful sexy couple.  The major twist in the last third of the book, showed another side of Cat emotionally, and how much she has learned from Bones.

One of the major reasons I loved this book, was seeing all of our favorites again, helping through this thrilling action filled adventure; Denise, who was great in this story; Mencheres,  Ian, Spade, Fabian, Vlad, Kira, Leila, Marie, etc, just to name a few.  Thank you, Jeaniene for allowing us to see them all together again.

Up From the Grave was a wonderful final book in this series.  There are so many things happening throughout the book, but again I do not want to spoil a thing.  Will we ever see Cat and Bones again? Hopefully one day in the far future, Jeaniene will give us glimpse in one of her other stories or novellas.  If you have not read this series, or this book yet, it is one of the best, not to be missed.  Again, thank you Jeaniene Frost for this fabulous series, and a fabulous couple.  We will miss Cat and Bones.

Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost Synopsis

Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost Synopsis

The Night Huntress Series (Cat and Bones)

I love the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost.  I have been a fan from the start, and Jeaniene has two of the best characters in Cat and Bones.  Many of you will remember that Bones went neck and neck against the fabled Barrons for the best and hottest male character.   But as good as Bones is, Cat Crawfield is a super heroine, and their romance is awesome.  Each book in this series just gets better and better.  Jeaniene does a great job with the other characters that she brings in later, like Mencheres, Vlad (whom is the hero of the her latest book..Once Burned), Spade, Ian.  If you like paranormal, vampires, ghosts, ghouls, action, excitement, romance, sex, and some of the best characters ever, then this series is for you.

Halfway to the Grave (October 30, 2007)

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother’s life. Then she’s captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.

In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She’s amazed she doesn’t end up as his dinner—are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn’t have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

One Foot in the Grave (April 29, 2008)

You can run from the grave, but you can’t hide . . .

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She’s still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

Being around him awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline kick of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard she tries to keep things professional between them, she’ll find that desire lasts forever . . . and that Bones won’t let her get away again.

At Grave’s End (December 30, 2008)

Some things won’t stay buried . . . at grave’s end

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

As if that wasn’t enough, a woman from Bones’s past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat’s about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she’s learned as a special agent won’t help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.

Destined for an Early Grave (July 28, 2009)

Her deadly dreams leave her in grave danger

Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they’ve fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it’s time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She’s having visions of a vampire named Gregor who’s more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn’t know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and he won’t stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor’s hold over her. She’ll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she’s ever faced . . . even if getting that power will result in an early grave.

This Side Of The Grave, (February 22, 2011)

Danger waits on both sides of the grave.

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they’ve triumphed over the latest battle, Cat’s new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance…

With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing.  A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous “ally”–the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war. …to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

One Grave at a Time (August 30, 2011)

Having narrowly averted an (under)world war, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans’ voodoo queen just keeps on giving-leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

This is a fun series, with great characters.  If you haven’t read this series, what are you waiting for.  It’s time for you meet Cat and Bones.  🙂
