Description:
In the wrong hands, love can be a deadly weapon.

For nearly six hundred years, Vlad Tepesh cared for nothing, so he had nothing to lose. His brutal reputation ensured that all but the most foolhardy stayed away. Now falling in love with Leila has put him at the mercy of his passions. And one adversary has found a devastating way to use Vlad’s new bride against him.

A powerful spell links Leila to the necromancer Mircea. If he suffers or dies, so does she. Magic is forbidden to vampires, so Vlad and Leila enlist an unlikely guide as they search for a way to break the spell. But an ancient enemy lies in wait, capable of turning Vlad and Leila’s closest friends against them…and finally tearing the lovers apart forever.

Review:

Into the Fire by Jeaniene Frost is the 4th and final book in her wonderful Night Prince series.   I have been a big fan of Frost since the beginning of the Night Huntress, which had one of my favorite couples, Cat & Bones.  I have been enjoying the Night Prince series, which features Vlad (Dracula) and Leila, who has her own unique electrical powers.   This is a fun series, always exciting, with a great couple and wonderful secondary characters, many of whom we met in the Night Hunteress series.

Vlad and Leila are now married, but trouble always follows Vlad.  In this story, Leila is living with an ancient spell that binds her to the necromancer, Mircea.  Whatever pain either endures, the other will also feel it, even to the point if one dies, so does the other.   Right from the start of this story, Leila is hit with terrible bloodied attacks, as someone is making Micrea suffer.   Just when you think we will lose Leila, the attack stops and Vlad manages to get her healed.  But this is only beginning, as the true reason of the attacks is to use Leila to get to Vlad.

What follows is a thrilling adventure with Vlad, Leila, Mencheres, Ian, Maximus and Marty trying to find out where the powerful necromancers  are hiding and torturing Micrea.  Danger is at every stop along the way, which was  wildly exciting, and tense, with Leila suffering the most.  Vlad has to make a decision to save Leila’s life, but at a horrible cost.  What will Vlad do?

In trying to find out how to break the spell, Leila will also learn more about her ancestors, as well as the truth about her powers.   Many of the questions we had about her powers were answered very well in this book by Frost. Leila turned out to be a fantastic heroine that will do anything to help save the man she loves.  Her growth in this book was phenomenal, and the love between her and Vlad was emotional and beautiful to watch.   Very well done.

Ian played a big part in this book, and he was as usual fun to listen to.  As the story races to the finish, there is more to tell about Ian that has us clamoring for more. I am happy to say the Jeaniene will be doing a news series based on Ian and another character that we want to know more about.  I can’t wait for this one.

Into the Fire was a fabulous story, filled with nonstop action, edge of your seat suspense, bad villans, and characters that are great.  I loved Vlad and Leila together; loved seeing Mencheres,  and was thrilled with how this story played out.  Thank you again, Jeaniene Frost for another wonderful series; I look forward to what you have for us next.

Description:
Play with fire, pay the price.

Leila’s years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn’t learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin…

Vlad must battle with a centuries-old enemy whose reach stretches across continents and whose strength equals his own. It isn’t like Vlad to feel fear, but he does…for Leila, because his enemy knows she is Vlad’s greatest weakness. As friend and foe alike align against him—and his overprotectiveness drives Leila away—Vlad’s love for his new bride could be the very thing that dooms them both…

Review:

Bound by Flames by Jeaniene Frost is the 3rd book in her Night Prince series. Though Jeaniene has ended her fabulous Night Huntress series, we still got to stay in this world with the heroes of this series, Vlad and Leila. The nice thing is we get to see some of our other favorite characters, such as Mencheres, Cat, Bones, Kira, Fabian, and even Marie, the ghoul queen.

The hunt continues for Vlad’s oldest and most dangerous enemy, Szilagyi, whose powers rival Vlad’s. In each book, Leila, a new vampire, gets stronger both emotionally and physically. The love between Vlad and Leila is beautiful, but could also be the death of the both of them. If anything should happen to Leila, Vlad will not be able to handle it. Szilagyi knows Vlad’s weakness, and he will use it with the help of a former ally of Vlad.

Vlad wants to keep Leila safe, but she is determined to help him. While Vlad is away, there is an attack on the mansion, and Leila refuses to stay put, as she wants to help those in danger. This will open the door for Szilagyi to kidnap her. Throughout this series, Leila has been through hell, and it is no different here. She is badly tortured, while the villains video tape it and send it to Vlad, knowing they he will lose control. Vlad is very lethal, and can be a terror against those who betray him. But Vlad will go to some of his friends to ask for help..as I mentioned above. We know that if Vlad gets his hands on Szilagyi, he will make him suffer for what he did to Leila, and we anxiously awaited hoping for vengeance.

What follows is an intense, exciting story from start to finish with much violence throughout. Telling too much more would be spoilers. There were so many exciting parts where we held our breaths, and Leila’s ability to rise above the torture was an amazing feat, as she has risen up to be a wonderful kick-ass heroine. Throughout this action packed adventure, the romance between Vlad and Leila was sizzling; you could see their love for each other shine, and it was those moments that released the tension built up from the terrible enemy they needed to destroy, in order to survive.

Leila’s sister Gretchen was funny, and a pain at times. I get the feeling that Jeaniene might just use this for future stories, but then again, she isn’t Leila.

I love Vlad and Leila and Jeaniene Frost has done it again….one of my all-time favorite couples is Cat & Bones, and now Vlad & Leila are rising up there. I was thrilled to find out that Bound by Flames is not the last book of this series, as was originally thought. We will get another Vlad and Leila story in 2016. I totally recommend that you read this series, but if you have not read  Night Huntress, it would be fun to start with that one.

Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity…

Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust– the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity.

Review:

Twice Tempted by Jeaniene Frost is the second book in her Night Prince series. It starts off shortly after Once Burned ended.  Leila is very much in love with Vlad, and he pretty much feels the same.  Though Vlad, who is more then 500 years old, and the original Count Drac, refuses to admit his true feelings; he cares strongly about Leila, but cannot to profess his love. Of late, he has been somewhat distant, being very secretive, causing Leila to worry.  Then he throws a party with all his friends, mostly vampires like himself, and it is at this party he makes an announcement that backfires, Leila becomes offended, as Vlad, instead of offering marriage, announces his plan to make her a vampire to be with him always.

Leila leaves the mansion heartbroken, and Vlad remains distant, as he does not understand why Leila was upset, since he offered her what he has never offered any other woman.  Leila’s powers of electricity, and being able to touch someone/something, and learn about them has been non existent, especially since she has been away from Vlad.  She meets with her friend Marty, and it is there that a tragic accident occurs, nearly killing Leila and Maximus, who was protecting her.  Due to suggestions from Maximus, Leila begins to suspect Vlad being behind the attempt on her life.

It doesn’t take long for Vlad to come to the rescue and bring Leila back to the mansion, where her family is also under his protection.  Aside from finding out who is behind the attempt on Leila, and why;  this is an awesome romance about a super couple. I love Vlad and Leila together.  Vlad is not an easy person to live with, as he has survived all these years being dangerous, powerful, violent, a cutthroat and ruthless; a man feared by all..but not by Leila.

Despite their short separation, she still loves Vlad, and she is the one perfect match for him. Leila is a wonderful heroine, strong, stubborn, determined, and with her powers returning, she makes a perfect pair to fight the enemy with Vlad; even though he prefers her to stay out of danger, and leave the danger to him.  But Leila is determined to help, and find out who is behind these threats.  There is a betrayer, and Leila is determined to help find out who it is.

I so loved them working together as a team. With her powers at full force, she was as dangerous as he was.  To watch them together, and Vlad showing Leila how he truly feels about made this such a great book.  Twice Tempted had everything..a sexy couple..a powerful couple.. a couple to rival Bones and Cat (though it is hard for me to say that, as I love Bones and Cat), suspense, sex, danger, action, mystery, and so much more.  Now we have to wait for the final book, since Jeaniene left us open and holding the bag.  Sigh.   Don’t miss this book, awesome series.
