LIAN (by Alexandra Ivy)

The Hunter:
Lian isn’t a happy puma. He’s a lethal Hunter who should be out fighting the enemy, not babysitting a human scholar. Still, he’ll do whatever necessary to rid the world of the evil goddess, Shakpi. And there’s the bonus of spending a few hours away from his family of Nurturers who have been smothering him with love. The last thing he expects is to discover a female who not only stirs his passions, but who calls to his cat on a primal level.

The Scholar:
Dr. Sage Parker has always known she’s different. Not only because she’s a genius with languages but, because she has a weird ability to see auras around people. It’s no wonder that she prefers to remain secluded in her small cottage. Then Lian charges into her life, dragging her out of the safety of her home and forcing her to travel to the Wildlands. Even more dangerously, he touches a place in her heart that she shut off long ago. Now, to claim the future she never dreamed possible, she must translate the ancient Pantera scrolls before Shakpi destroys the male she loves.

ROCH (by Laura Wright)

Brilliant Diplomat Roch is devoted to his work. The sexy, blond male wants nothing more than to keep his life just as it is. But when he falls ill, he’s forced to find help in the human world. Who would’ve guessed that the cure he needs is a human woman carrying the next Pantera child?

Attorney Lydia Page has not only been fired from her job for being pregnant, but the clinic where she was inseminated wants her to end the pregnancy because she’s carrying an ‘animal.’ Shocked and scared, Lydia has nowhere to turn. She loves her unborn child, and soon realizes that the only way to keep herself and her baby safe is to accept the help of a mysterious and very handsome puma shifter. But could the stranger be more than just her rescuer?

REVIEW: LIAN/ROCH are the ninth and tenth instalments in the contemporary, paranormal romance BAYOU HEAT novella series co-written by Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright. This is the continuing series about a group of feline shifters known as the Pantera who live in the Wildlands of Louisiana. When one threat against their existence is finally neutralized another threat comes from an unknown source. The little blurbs say it all.

Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright have written an amazing series that focuses on discrimination and the extinction against and (of ) a supernatural species. The authors’ combined efforts and ability to write a series together is heightened by their similar styles that compliment one another’s storylines.

BAYOU HEAT is a paranormal romance series where the Pantera male will discover that there is someone for everyone but not necessarily of the Pantera world. There is an insta-love quality to the series as each Pantera finds the mate of his heart and knows she is his forever. Ivy and Wright have penned a seductive series about heartbreak, betrayal, alienation and love. There is a little bit of everything in the Bayou Heat series and just enough steamy sex to keep you turning the pages.

BAYOU HEAT 5 & 6: TALON/XAVIER by Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release July 9, 2013

TALON
After the tragic death of his parents when Talon was young, he’s dedicated his life to protecting the Pantera. To the strikingly gorgeous man, loyalty and honor mean everything. So it’s no surprise that he’s determined to treat Isi Rousseau as the enemy. If the elders believe she is a danger then he will do whatever necessary to prevent her from destroying his beloved Wildlands. But discovering the delicate beauty sleeping in his bed, Talon discovers his noble intentions wavering. The female, with short, jet black hair streaked with blue, and a pair of dark eyes, might act tough, but it’s obvious to him that she’s as desperate as he is for a place to call home. More importantly, her presence is helping keep Ashe and her baby alive.

Suddenly things are not quite as black and white as Talon assumed, and he must decide if his loyalty to his people is worth losing his true mate.

XAVIER
He shouldn’t want his best friend’s little sister…

The drop-dead gorgeous leader of the Geeks, Xavier has one goal: find the human male his enemies seek. Devoted to his work, and to the Pantera, there is nothing that can distract him from accomplishing his goal. Until he spots his best friend’s little sister alone and partying it up with a bunch of human males at the local bar. Consumed with possessiveness, Xavier takes her home and refuses to leave her side until her brother returns. He tries to convince himself he’s just looking out for her, but the longer he’s around Amalie, the harder it is to deny the molten attraction that burns between them.

She has three days to change his mind…

REVIEW: Talon/Xavier are the 5th and 6th storylines in the Bayou Heat series by Ivy and Wright. Focusing on the search for the betrayer to the Pantera species, this particular installment moves the storyline closer to the identity of the person(s) responsible for the illness sweeping through the Bayou and the threat to Raphael’s pregnant mate. With no new births in over two decades, the Pantera population is praying for a miracle to save Raphael and Ashe’s baby.

With the search focusing on a tattoo parlor and its’ clientele’s connection to all things evil, Talon/Xavier’s storylines will bring together lost siblings and missing parents. And in doing so, one will prove to be a risk worth taking while the other will prove to be a risk best left alone. And in the end, both will be problematic to the Pantera people.

Talon/Xavier’s storylines advance the series such that the familial connections are directly related to all things evil in the Bayou. But without these connections there is also the possibility of the Pantera species ending before it has had a chance for renewal.

Talon/Xavier is another welcome and fascinating addition to the Bayou Heat series. Two more Pantera male’s have found their mates and in doing so have uncovered another connection to the myth and the ‘goddess’ responsible for the slow demise of the Bayou and the Pantera race. Ivy and Wright have written a wonderful series of shifter males, their mates and, the trial and tribulations of forbidden love and the ramifications of a sibling rivalry carried too far.

BAYOU HEAT (Bayon and Jean/Baptiste) picks up immediately following the events of the previous storyline. The Pantera are a puma-shifting, Wildlands living group of inhabitants who have been cursed with infertility with the possibility of extinction. BAYON is the third storyline in the Bayou Heat series. Bayon is a Hunter. On the search for the source of black magic affecting Ashe and her unborn child, he will soon discover that the woman he long thought was missing and dead, has been held captive for nearly twenty five years. Freeing his would be mate reveals plenty of information especially when she reveals that the people who had set her up were two of their very own shifters.

JEAN-BAPTISTE is the fourth storyline and a little more complicated. Jean-Baptiste is having difficulty controlling his cat so he resorts to getting tatooed with specially infused ink that keeps his baser instincts at bay. But when he is sent on assignment to retrieve a voodoun priestess, he is beyond words when a Suit is sent along for the ride-Genevieve Burel-a top negotiator in the arts of persuasion. Only this time, the only one needing persuading is Genevieve herself when Jean-Baptiste’s cat claims to have found its mate

BAYOU HEAT –Bayon and Jean-Baptiste is another welcome addition to the continuing saga of the Pantera shifters in the Wildlands of Louisiana. The sexual chemistry in each of the storylines will make you growl and purr like the cat we all want to be. Laura Wright and Alexandra Ivy bring together a secretive species that is trying to stave off extinction at the hands of curse brought about by sibling rivalry taken to the extreme.
