ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 30, 2014

Unlike his brothers, Clayton Mathis isn’t looking for the woman of his dreams. He works hard, plays harder, and enjoys every minute of it. And with his family preparing to expand Shadow Maverick Ranch, settling down is the last thing on his mind—until a sexy blonde makes him an offer he can’t refuse.

Of all the men in the bar, Ainsley Russell has to go and proposition the one man who will cause her nothing but trouble. The Mathis family has been persistent in their bid to buy her property. Inheriting her uncle’s ranch has given her the first home she’s ever known … along with a mountain of debt that threatens to take it all away.

After learning Clay’s identity, Ainsley can’t run fast enough. Or far enough … since the gorgeous cowboy shows up on her doorstep the next morning, looking to pick up where they left off the night before…

REVIEW: COWBOY REDEEMED is the third installment in Parker Kincade’s contemporary, adult Shadow Maverick Ranch romance series focusing on the Mathis family and their friends. This is eldest brother Clayton Mathis and neighboring ranch owner Ainsley Russell’s story. Cowboy Redeemed can be read as a stand alone storyline.

Told from third person point of view, the focus of the storyline finds Ainsley Russell in financial trouble. Having inherited her uncle’s dilapidated and run down ranch she discovers that there is more debt than assets, and slowly begins dismantling the ranch one cow and one cowhand at a time. With the bank about to turn down her application for a loan, Ainsley is not about to consider offers from the neighboring ranch. She will not be bullied into selling to the Mathis family-even if she has to foreclose. Enter Clayton Mathis-the handsome and sexy neighbor who knows that to engage in a relationship with Ainsley could only end in disaster for everyone concerned.

The relationship between Ainsley and Clayton begins on an accidental meeting at the local bar. Their attraction to one another is immediate; there is a pull that cannot be ignored. But when Ainsley discovers Clayton with a contract for the purchase of her uncle’s ranch, betrayal will eat at any feelings she was beginning to develop for the man who stole her heart. Ainsley is a fiercely independent woman who refuses to ask for assistance even though everything around her is beginning to fall apart.

The world building continues as each member of the Shadow Maverick Ranch will find his or her soulmate. The solitude of the ranch as well as the loving and nurturing family all add to the intimate feel of the storyline and series. The secondary characters include all of the previous storyline couples including Gavin and Lauren who are preparing for their upcoming wedding, as well as, Clayton’s close friends and drinking buddies. The characters are spirited, believable and intense.

COWBOY REDEEMED is a romantic and provocative storyline about two people pushed together towards a common goal albeit with different end results in mind. Clayton’s motives are not deceptive but on the surface Ainsley knows that she must protect the farm as well as her heart.

Parker Kincade’s SHADOW MAVERICK RANCH series is entertaining, compelling and a joy to read. Her storylines are passionate; emotional; with just enough smexy cowboy to arouse your curiosity.

Cowboy Redeemed by Parker Kincade
Excerpt 1:
“Most people call me Clay. If I can coerce you to put the gun down, I thought we could talk.”
Ainsley cursed under her breath. He was what she’d spent all night thinking about—and what she’d do if she saw him again. Those fantasies had nothing to do with kicking him off her property and everything to do with getting him naked. “I’m not doing any more talking until I have at least one cup of coffee. Come in if you want, but watch your step.”
He studied the porch as though trying to decide the best route to her front door.
“Step wide here.” She demonstrated by stepping over two boards to plant her foot on the threshold. “Avoid those and you’ll be fine.”
She didn’t wait to see if he would follow. His nearness renewed the ache to have him between her thighs. Part of her wished he’d turn tail and leave her alone. The other, more insistent part of her wanted him to drag her to bed and keep her there all day.
Clay’s boots clomped against the worn hardwoods. “How long has the porch been like that?” He propped a hip against the doorway to the kitchen, arms crossed over his chest. His short sleeves allowed her a view of the tattoo she’d been fascinated with last night. Black ink decorated his forearm, an intricate design starting just above his wrist and ending at his elbow. She itched to get a closer look.
“I suspect a long time. It hasn’t gotten any worse since I’ve been here.” She reached into the cabinet and pulled out a coffee mug. “Want some coffee?”
“Sure.”
“Sugar? I don’t have cream, but I’ve got milk if you want.”
“Black is fine, thanks.”
She grabbed a second mug and filled both as he pulled out a chair and took a seat as though he belonged there. Ainsley set his mug in front of him and leaned against the counter, facing him.
“So, talk.” She blew over the rim of her mug before taking a sip.
“Lemme guess. Not a morning person?”
“I like mornings fine. I’m actually quite cheerful when my mornings aren’t rudely interrupted by strangers before my first cup of coffee.”
He chuckled. “Fair enough.” He tested the coffee with a small sip before tipping his mug for a deeper drink. “That guy hasn’t been out here before?”
“Not him, no.”
“Someone else?” he prompted.
“Seems there’s a never ending supply of people around here who think I’m incapable of running this ranch.”
One thick, dark brow rose. “You’ve got experience running ranches, then?”
Ainsley drew in a breath and set her coffee aside. “That’s really not your concern, is it? It’s not anyone’s concern. Whether people around here like it or not, Mr. Nelson left this ranch to me. To me.” For reasons he took to the grave. “I’ll bet no one is interested in the mountain of debt the bastard left along with it, are they?”
Her temper mounted, as did her need to vent to someone, anyone. “Fuck experience. I’m smart. I’m a fast learner. I taught myself how to cook when I was eight. I lied about my age and got my first job when I turned twelve. I taught myself how to saddle and ride a freaking horse for crying out loud. There’s not a goddamned thing I can’t do, you hear me? I’ve managed to keep things going here without any major disasters and without any outside help. And I’ll keep right on doing it.”
Clay spoke, unfazed by her diatribe. “You can’t expect to do this all on your own, Ainsley. No one could. Not even me, and I’ve been a rancher all my life. There’s no shame in asking for help.”
“And you’re here out of the goodness of your heart? To help me?” A disgusted noise slipped from her lips.
His jaw tightened. “Something like that.”
Enough. She had chores to get done.
“You didn’t come all the way out here just to have coffee with me. Why are you here?”
He unfolded from the chair and stood in front of her, hunger in his gaze. She suppressed a shudder as his hands gripped the counter on either side of her, caging her in.
“I want more from you than just coffee, Ainsley, as I made clear last night. You were pretty clear in what you wanted from me, too. And before you go insulting me again, this is about you and me. Nothing else.”
You and me.
Oh, shit. She liked the sound of that a little too much.
“You’re only here because I ditched you.” She palmed his chest as he leaned into her space. His masculine scent filled her nose, made her want to bury her face in his neck and breathe him in.
“Ah.” Clay teased his lips along the line of her jaw. “And I’d still be here if you hadn’t ditched me last night. The difference being we missed the pleasure in the middle.”
Good lord. Her pussy throbbed, begging for the attention he promised. “Don’t blame me if you’re hard up. There were plenty of women waiting to go home with you last night.”
He chuckled against her neck. When had she tilted her head to give him such access?
“And that bothers you.”
Not a question—arrogant ass.
His heated breath caressed her skin. She shivered. “Not at all.” Her fingers dug into his biceps as he found the sensitive spot behind her ear. “I hardly know you. I don’t care who you fuck.”
Yes, she did. It made no sense at all, but she hated the idea of him touching another woman. It was an irrational thought, surely brought on by his talented lips.
“Such a pretty little liar.” He licked the seam of her mouth. “I’ve been up all night thinking about you. Thinking about this.”
You’re not the only one.
His fingers twisted in her hair and tugged her head back. Ainsley gasped and his mouth covered hers. He wasted no time. His tongue slipped past her lips, seeking, demanding. Coffee and sweet mint exploded on her tongue—an intoxicating combination she couldn’t resist.
Desire overwhelmed her senses as he devoured her, exploring her mouth with a thoroughness she’d never experienced before. She met his tongue, matched him lap for lap until her head spun and her body burned with need.
His hands skimmed her body. God, it felt so good to be touched. She didn’t stop him when one hand molded her ass to bring her closer while the other hand snaked under her shirt to caress her spine. She didn’t stop him when he cupped a naked breast. Hot and possessive, he squeezed. He flicked a wicked finger over her sensitive nipple, sending sparks of sensation down to her core.
Ainsley wrapped her arms around his neck and tried to get closer. His mouth broke from hers and worked down her neck, nipping and sucking, causing her pulse to race.
The hand holding her ass slipped lower, cupping her curves with ease. Ainsley’s breath caught. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized how close his fingers were to the wet folds of her sex. Another inch and he’d realize for himself she wasn’t wearing panties under her sleep shorts.
One. Tiny. Inch.
A phone rang, a shrill sound that broke through the lust-fog surrounding her brain. Ainsley jumped, jerking away from him as though they’d been caught doing something they shouldn’t.
“Fuck. Ainsley.”
They were both flushed and panting. Clay had a white-knuckled grip on the edge of the counter, as if it were the only thing keeping him from reaching for her again.
“Sorry.” She laughed and clamped a hand over her heaving chest, trying to slow her racing heart. “I didn’t mean to … you should probably get that.” Since her cell phone wasn’t turned on and her house phone never rang, she knew it wasn’t hers.
Ainsley moved to the other side of the table. Space. She needed space to catch her breath. Not an easy thing to do with Clay’s rock hard body sucking up all the oxygen in the room.
The man devastated her senses. One touch and her control had gone out the window, replaced by her body’s demands of more and now.
Clay cursed as he pulled the phone from his pocket. His molten stare fixed on her, he answered. “Yeah?”
He ran a hand through his hair, his palm coming to rest on the back of his neck. “Yeah, I forgot. Sorry.”
Pause. He closed his eyes and his chest rose, as though he purposely sought patience. Or a way to relieve the impressive erection straining against his jeans. Ainsley groaned softly and forced her gaze away from his crotch.
She didn’t care who he was or what name he carried. She wanted to fan the sparks between them until they burned.
“Christ, Erin. I said I was sorry. I’ll be there in less than twenty minutes, but y’all go on and eat. Don’t wait on me. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Bye.”
He shoved the phone back into his pocket, his expression a mixture of hunger and apology. “I’m sorry, Ainsley. I’ve gotta go. I’m supposed to meet my family for breakfast.”
Ainsley felt a twinge in her chest. She glanced toward her empty table, wondering what it would be like to have people she loved surrounding it. Call her old-fashioned, but the thought of preparing a meal and taking care of those imaginary people made her happier than she cared to admit.
Clay came to her, his hand sliding up to cradle her face. “Looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer to explore this thing between us.”
“Looks like,” she agreed, suddenly fascinated by the hard line of his jaw. She talked herself out of touching him last night. Who knew when, or if, she’d get the chance to do so again. She traced the curve from his ear to his chin.
“You gonna object if I come back?”
“Nope.” Ainsley continued her exploration. She slid her finger down the line of his throat and followed the edge of his T-shirt from collarbone to collarbone. She’d count the minutes, if he wanted to know the truth.
Clay snagged her wrist, stopping her exploration. He brought her hand to his mouth and he kissed her fingers, one by one.
“Soon, Ainsley.” He nibbled the inside of her wrist, followed by a gentle kiss. “Very soon.”
Not soon enough for her.

••••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: BORROWED COWBOY is the second instalment in Parker Kincade’s adult, contemporary Shadow Maverick Ranch erotic romance series focusing on the Mathis family who own and run the Texas ranch. This is Paxton Mathis and Reese Jameson’s storyline-a second chance at love for two former best friends who were destroyed by a night of passion and a deep seated guilt.

Told from third person POV the focus of the storyline is the rekindling and rebuilding of a relationship between Paxton and Reese that started years before. Reese has been back in Texas for close to two years and hasn’t once made any contact with Pax. When Lauren and Gavin Mathis (Paxton’s brother) hire event planner Reese to help with their upcoming wedding, Reese knows that Pax will eventually cross her path. She isn’t prepared for the emotional fallout from the man she believes blames her for a night that went horribly wrong.

Reece and Pax’s relationship is steamy and hot as though the ten years of separation have never changed their feelings for one another. But Paxton’s faith in humanity was all but destroyed by a former love and letting another woman into his heart is harder than he could have ever imagined.

The world building continues with the inclusion of the Mathis family including Lauren and Gavin from White Collar Cowboy-book one. All of the secondary characters add color and some personal information about a man who has struggled with the demise of a relationship and a betrayal of the heart.

Parker Kincade pulls the reader into fast paced, intimate and romantic storyline of first loves who discover that their feelings for one another have never waned. Pax and Reece’s storyline is a provocative and emotional tale about two people who got caught up in a moment in time and have been given a second chance to claim what should have been their’s all along.

Paxton folded his arms. “What’re you doin’ here?”
She suddenly wasn’t so sure. “I’m helping Lauren and Gavin plan their wedding.”
“Ah, right. The event planner. So, is busting into my shower part of the plan?”
Her cheeks heated as the visual of him in the shower hit her. There were worse things to bust into, but that was irrelevant at the moment. “Obviously not.”
His jaw hardened. “After all these years, how would I know what’s obvious about what you’re doing?”
Okay, she probably deserved that. But, still…
“I don’t recall my phone ringing either, buddy.” Did he realize he was only wearing a towel? Good lord.
“I heard you got married,” she blurted. The news had left a permanent scar on her heart. She hadn’t meant to throw that out there, but she needed a reality check in the face of all that muscle. The reminder of his marital status was as good as throwing cold water on her libido. And at the rate her heart was racing, she’d need buckets full.
He shrugged. “Got divorced too. But, since you seem to be keeping tabs, I’m sure you heard about that.”
“I’m not—” Reese trailed off as she saw the corner of his lip twitch.
Snarky bastard.
This was not the way she’d envisioned their reunion. Not that she hadn’t expected him to be mad at her, but she’d imagined he’d at least be wearing clothes. Then again, she never could predict how things would happen when Paxton was involved. Last time she thought she had him figured out, he’d taken her to bed and given her more pleasure than she’d ever known. Then or since.
“I hadn’t heard you’d gotten divorced. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. Some things aren’t meant to be.”
“I guess…” She didn’t know what else to say. Her gaze drifted. The towel draped his hips and thighs, but that didn’t stop her from remembering what was underneath. Her heart beat so hard she could feel it in her throat.
“Did you and Lauren get things hashed out?”
“What?” He really needed to put on some clothes.
“You’re planning the wedding, right? That’s why you’re here?”
“Yeah.” She shook her head, hoping the stupid that had taken possession of her brain would dissipate, and met his gaze. “I mean, yes. Lauren wanted me to help her decide on the best spot to hold the ceremony.”
“And you found a place?” he asked, as though he conversed half naked on a regular basis.
“We did.”
“So, you’re done for the night?”
“Lauren had to rush off to meet Gavin for a dinner meeting. Something about a neighboring ranch, I think she said.”
His lips pursed. He nodded as though he knew exactly what she was talking about. “That’s good.”
Awkward silence filled the space between them. His expression gave away nothing as he stared at her. He was distracting, intimidating … gorgeous.
“We should catch up. Why don’t you let me buy you a drink?”
Her breath caught. “You want to go out?” A sharp pang of desire tightened her stomach.
He leaned against the doorjamb, a slow smile spreading across his face. “After the day I’ve had, not so much. Since you’re here, how about I grab a couple of beers and we can chat a bit.”
“I’ve still got work to do.” Not to mention, the last time they drank together, they ended up naked. While her body thought it was an excellent idea, her heart wouldn’t survive him a second time.
“The wedding isn’t for months. You can spare a few hours for an old friend, can’t you?” He held up his palm. “I promise to be on my best behavior. Unless, of course, you don’t want me to be. Then all bets are off.” He winked at her.
He was flirting with her now? What the hell? “You think you’re gonna get lucky?”
His brows shot up. “Is that even a possibility?”
Reese hesitated long enough to see the wicked grin spread across his face. Damn it. She needed to work on her poker face.
“I suppose anything’s possible, if you think about it,” she hedged.
“That’s not an answer.” He crowded her until her back hit the wall.
She put her palms to his chest with the intent to push him away. Once the heat of his skin hit her, all she could think about was touching him, dragging her hands down until they met the edge of the towel, and then watching as it fell to the floor. “We haven’t seen each other in ten years.”
He brushed his fingertips along her cheek and tucked a loose curl behind her ear. “Still not an answer.”
Her stomach clenched as he leaned in, his breath minty and warm against her lips. Sweet mercy, he was going to kiss her. A kiss she was decidedly desperate for.
“Paxton.” His name came out a plea. To stop, to keep going, to heal the ache that had lived in her heart for too many years.
He cleared his throat and pulled away so abruptly, Reese’s knees almost buckled. He backed away, putting the space of the hallway between them.
“It’s good to see you again, Reesey. I’m sure I’ll see you around.”
Her heart threatened to melt at his use of the personal nickname, and it pissed her off. Three minutes in his presence and she’d turned into a sex-starved half-wit.
She was neither.
Reese wished she had something to hurl at his back as he walked away. Was he so unaffected by her then? Of course he was. It’d been ten years. He’d moved on. As for her … well … she didn’t know what she’d done, but it had felt a little too much like waiting for her taste.
That stopped now.
She’d have a drink, take him up on his offer to talk so she could do what she’d come here to do. Then she’d move on, stop waiting for the impossible romantic fantasy she’d spun all those years ago.
“Give me a few minutes to clean up? I’ll meet you downstairs in fifteen?”
He turned. “You look fine.”
“I’ve been outside with Lauren and am a sweaty mess. What I really need is a shower,” she mumbled.
He gave her a lopsided grin. “As you can see, I’ve already showered, but I could be convinced to have another.”
“That wasn’t an offer.”
“Pity.”
She laughed then, feeling some of her tension ease. “Ten years, and you haven’t changed a bit.”
“Don’t kid yourself, sweets. Ten years ago, you left without a word. Don’t think for a second I’ll let that happen again. Fifteen minutes.”
He started to turn away from her, but stopped, giving her a sly smile. “It’s good to see you again, Reesey.”

REVIEW: WHITE COLLAR COWBOY is the first instalment and novella in Parker Kincade’s adult, contemporary, western Shadow Maverick Ranch romance series. This is Gavin Mathis and Lauren Delgado’s story. Gavin, along with his twin sister, are the eldest Mathis siblings and he is about to take over the reigns at the family’s Shadow Maverick Ranch.

The focus of the storyline is the building relationship between Gavin and Lauren. A friends to lovers storyline, the reader is pulled into a story where Lauren must make a decision about her future, now that she is unemployed. Enter Gavin Mathis-a former colleague and the man she has crushed on for close to twelve years. When Gavin offers his house on the beach for a weekend to relax, Lauren is quick to accept not realizing that Gavin too, may have had plans of his own.

The world building introduces Gavin’s close knit family of five siblings who will be working together towards a common goal-in this-there is the potential for five more storylines. WHITE COLLAR COWBOY is a quick and erotic read that will pull you in from the very start. The sex scenes are sensual and arousing; there is never any question that our couple is attracted to one another. The storyline is well paced for a novella and there is none of the ‘rush to the finish’ of some short stories.

Parker Kincade has written an captivating storyline about two people who have loved one another from afar and have been given a second chance for a happily ever after. I can see myself becoming addicted to the storylines from the Shadow Maverick Ranch.

Gavin reached the shore and dragged his tired limbs from the water. He snatched up his clothes and walked, naked and unconcerned, up to the house. His legs protested as he climbed the stairs to the porch. Maybe he had overdone it a little, but he resisted falling into one of the deck chairs, instead dropping his stuff outside the door as he slid it open. A quick shower to rinse the Gulf from his skin, maybe a beer or two, and he was done.

As he breeched the threshold, a movement to the left caught his attention and he turned, completely gobsmacked by what he found.

His weakened limbs found the renewed strength to hold him in place, standing completely still so as not to shatter the vision before him.
She was here. She was actually here.

Gavin watched in utter fascination as Lauren slipped the shirt from her shoulders. Inch by gorgeous inch, she unknowingly revealed her back to him. The creamy skin made his mouth water. His body tensed and he yearned to reach out, to touch, to tease, to pleasure.

Obviously, she thought she was alone. He should make his presence known. Shouldn’t stand here and watch as she unhooked her bra. And definitely shouldn’t watch as she … sweet mercy, was she caressing her—fuck.

A flash of lust burned through him. Gavin licked his lips, his tongue suddenly desperate for something to do. His gaze focused on the movement of her arms as she cupped her breasts. He’d give anything to know what, who she was thinking about right now. He wanted it to be him, hoped it was him. It was wrong, so wrong, yet he remained still, transfixed, waiting to see what she did next.
A tiny sound emerged from her throat, and his cock hardened in response. Her arms dropped. So did his gaze. The shimmering blue panties she wore didn’t quite cover her butt cheeks and he groaned as she bent to pick up what appeared to be a bikini top. Not panties then. Jesus, she was changing into a bathing suit. Not performing some kind of erotic strip tease.

Lauren spun, slapping her palms to her breasts. Not fast enough to keep him from seeing her tawny nipples, both drawn up to tight little buds.

Her gaze drifted over him, lingering over his chest before heading lower. Her eyes widened as she took in the rest of him. “W-what are you doing here?”

He made no attempt to cover himself. “It’s my house.” Simple, to the point. Truth. And all he was capable of at the moment.

Her fingers tightened, her breasts threatening to spill from the confines of her small, delicate hands. Hands he’d like to replace with his own.

“That’s not what I meant. You said you were leaving tonight.”
He nodded slowly. “Yes, and I did. You never asked me where I was going.”

“So, you asked me to come, but thought I wouldn’t if I knew you’d be here?”

He could practically hear the gears turning in her head. And he appreciated the fact she was pleased with what she saw, but she was making coherent thought damn near impossible.

“Staring at it like that is only going to make it worse, sweetheart,” he said gently.

Her eyes snapped up, a light blush staining her cheeks. “Like what?”

“Like it’s candy.” She was killing him. He couldn’t remember ever being so hard. The stubborn set of her chin, the darkening of her eyes, everything about her intrigued him, called to him.

“I need a shower.” The saltwater from his swim was already starting to make his skin itch, and he needed to get the hell away before he tossed her to the couch and fucked her blind.

He looked her up and down again, taking full advantage of his first opportunity to see her body, the curves that had tempted him for so long. She was even more beautiful than he’d imagined. Lean, muscular legs, rounded hips and an ass he’d like to sink his hands into. Breasts too big for her smaller hands, but perfect for his.

“Unless you’d like to join me, I’d suggest you put on something more substantial.” He glanced pointedly the apex of her legs. “Because knowing I’m one scrap of material from having you naked is driving me crazy.” As if she hadn’t seen the rock-hard evidence of his arousal already.

Slowly, her lips curled upward. “Well, I seem to remember you telling me I could help myself to anything I wanted.” She dropped her hands, baring her nipples for his view. “So, yes, Gavin. I think a shower sounds perfect.”
