Description:
Pia’s latest pregnancy has become a daily challenge, her relationship with Dragos strained with argument. That hasn’t stopped them from achieving a compromise and traveling to Las Vegas to celebrate their friend Rune’s wedding to his mate Carling.
From the moment they arrive, the trip goes awry. Death walks in Vegas, and Pia is kidnapped as an ancient enemy makes a move to destroy the Great Beast once and for all.
But the Great Beast has other plans.
On Planet Dragos everything goes the way he arranges it—unless someone decides to cross him, and God help them then, because he doesn’t know how to back down, and he doesn’t ever, ever let up….
Barb’s Review:
Planet Dragos by Thea Harrison is a wonderful novella that is part of her fantastic Elder Races series. In Planet Dragos, for the final time, Pia and Dragos are in the forefront of this story. Thea has told us in advance that this is the last time she will devote the future books in the POV of Pia and Dragos. Both of them have been our favorites for a long time, and it has always been a joy spending quality time with them.
Pia and Dragos travel to Las Vegas to attend the wedding of Rune and Carling; and with Pia pregnant, her temperament has been noticeable, especially with her having a difficult time with this baby. Dragos loses his cool with Pia, as he too is not in a good frame of mind, with trying to deal with the political machine that refuses to work with him. After Pia leaves for her room, Dragos realizes he needed to talk to Pia, since he felt bad how he talked to her. When he goes to their room, Pia is missing, supposedly off to shop.
In a short time, when he tries to call her, someone else picks up the phone, and Dragos finds out that Pia has been kidnapped. All hell breaks loose in Vegas, as the mighty Dragon shifts to find his mate, but he cannot even sense her. When a picture is sent to him, both he and Rune know that Carling has also been kidnapped.
They will bring the team together to find them. It was great to see Dragos and Rune reconcile their differences, especially since Rune says that Carling (who has been drained, and is a dangerous Vampyre) will never hurt Pia. They use every available person to search into the past to discover who is behind this kidnapping, and why. The who and why goes far far into Dragos past. Can they find Pia in time to save her and the baby?
What follows is an exciting, fast paced, action packed emotional story that will create changes for Dragos and Pia, as well as for Liam and the Sentinels. I read this in one sitting, as I was totally engrossed into the story. What made this so good was the chance to see many of our favorites from previous books make appearances. This is always fun. We also got to see Azrael (Death), who made a visit to both Dragos and Pia separately.
Thea Harrison once again gives us another exciting and wonderful story featuring the wonderful romantic couple in Dragos and Pia. Though there will be no more novellas in their POV, I hope we do get to see them in the future books with the other members of the Elder Races. I look forward to seeing what Thea Harrison has in store for us with the changes for the Wyr and the Elder Races.
Sandy’s Review:
PLANET DRAGOS by Thea Harrison follows Dragos and, a very pregnant and grumpy Pia as they venture to Vegas for Rune and Carling’s wedding. Not only does Dragos have business to attend but ‘Death’s’ appearance pulls Pia onto the Vegas strip where she is no longer safe within the shelter of her mate. Kidnapped but not alone Pia will come face to face with an unknown enemy hoping to destroy all that is Dragos and the Elder Races.
PLANET DRAGOS reveals upcoming changes for the Elder Races and the New York Demesne as Thea Harrison says good-bye, for now, to our leading couple. There are new leaders and players on the horizon but time and experience will be a necessary trial. The story line brings together and revisits with a number of characters introduced throughout the series as well as those featured in the Elder Race’s novellas. A quick read with an engrossing premise PLANET DRAGOS is a dramatic, reflective and passionate story line as we say a temporary good-bye to our reigning couple.
