REVIEW:OFF THE GRID is the first instalment in K. Bromberg’s contemporary, adult FULL THROTTLE erotic, Formula 1, romance series. This is twenty six year old race driver Spencer Riggs, and twenty-five year old, PR consultant Camilla Moretti’s story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise with talk of a previous sexual assault, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Spencer and Camilla) OFF THE GRID follows the building romance and relationship between Spencer and Camilla. Camilla Moretti works for the family owner Moretti Olive Oil company in Europe but her father’s deteriorating health finds Camilla returning to England to take the reins of Moretti Motorsports, a position for which she is totally unprepared. A racing accident for one of Moretti Motorsports Formula 1 driver, offers Spencer Riggs a position on the team but Spencer’s penchant for trouble both on and off the track, precedes his introduction to the Moretti Motorsports Team, and a questionable first contact with our story line heroine forces Spencers to reconsider his options going forward. As Spencer prepares for the upcoming Formula 1 season, a three strike rule is quickly pushing Spencer in another direction. What ensues is the forbidden but building romance and relationship between Spencer and Camilla, and the potential fall-out as Camilla’s past continues to control her present, and Spencer’s need to protect our heroine, threatens his career in the blink of an eye.

The world building focuses on the Formula 1 driving circuit: the drivers, the positions, the wins and the losses. Camilla Moretti and Spencer Riggs are both legacy members of the Formula 1 world, the next generation of drivers and owners in a sport that is both dangerous and fast. As Camilla Moretti continues to struggles with issues of trust and past betrayals, Spencer is determined to win, even if it costs the woman he loves.

The relationship between Spencer and Camilla begins acrimoniously; a dare by Spencer’s fellow drivers that forces Camilla’s demons to the surface, threatening every aspect of her life going forward. Spencer will quickly learn that the woman he hurt is about to control his professional life but ghosts from the past continue to control our story line couple. The $ex scenes are passionate and intimate.

We are introduced to Camilla’s parents, Spencer’s mother, as well as several Formula 1 drivers on the racing circuit.

OFF THE GRID is a story of power and control, betrayal and abuse, illness and acceptance, loss, love and forgiveness. The premise is intriguing, captivating and compelling; the romance is seductive; the characters are a little bit broken but energetic and determined.
