REVIEW: YOU CAN HIDE is the second instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult LAUREL SNOW suspense thriller focusing on FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow. YOU CAN HIDE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as their is an ongoing plot line throughout.

Told from several third person perspectives YOU CAN HIDE follows FBI profiler Laurel Snow as she is temporarily posted to Genesis Valley and Witch Creek in Northern Washington State where she, and Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers find themselves focusing on the possibility of another serial killer. When Huck and Laurel begin their investigation, a pattern emerges wherein all of the victims are intelligent women with doctorate degrees. As our couple dig deeper into the lives of the victims, secrets reveal a possible connection to Laurel’s half-sister Abigail, a woman whose own proclivities are not as they appear. With the number of murder suspects and victims growing at an alarming rate, Laurel is at a loss, frustrated with the lies that are impeding their murder investigation. Everyone is suspect; the motives are numerous; the behavior is questionable from the Mayor to the local high school bad boys. The small town lives and mentality begin to shake Laurel at her core but when she and Huck become the target of the killer, Laurel thinks she knows who is controlling from the top.

REVIEW: GARRETT’S DESTINY is the fifteenth full length instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult DARK PROTECTORS erotic, paranormal/fantasy series. This is Vampire/Demon member of the circle of Seven Garrett Kayrs, and Destiny Applegate’s story line. GARRETT’S DESTINY should not be read as a stand alone. I recommend reading the series in order, or at the very least, this particular arc of the series focusing on the group of Seven beginning with book eight VAMPIRE’S FAITH, as there is a on-going premise throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: A thousand years earlier, a number of immortal warriors went through a ritual that, if they survived, hardened their bodies against attack, a ritual meant to create a group of Seven known as The Shield. The Shield was created to protect the world from an evil race of vampires known as the Kurjans, their sect group known as the Cysts, and ultimately a rogue warrior once considered a friend- Ulric-a male of immense power. To protect the human race, Ulric was captured, and along with two of the Seven, was encapsulated in one of three spheres for all eternity but the spheres are no longer capable of holding the ‘Seven’, and the warriors have returned to Earth. Told from a number of third person perspectives following several intersecting paths using present day, memories and dream sequences GARRETT’S DESTINY follows the building relationship between Vampire/Demon member of the circle of Seven Garrett Kayrs, and Destiny Applegate. A chance meeting, a possible meeting of fate, found Destiny Applegate at the mercy of Garrett Kayrs. Garrett believe he has found his mate but all clues and scenarios pointed to something else. Destiny had once dreamed about our story line hero, and Garrett expected a different female to claim as his mate. An Immortal male could only mate with an enhanced human female but for all intents and purposes Destiny was merely human whose life expectancy was about to be measured in weeks, not in years. Destiny is something else: not quite immortal yet not quite human, and in this, the secrets lay buried deep within our story line heroine, within the symbols that have marked her as other, as possibly belonging to someone else. As the Seven, the Demons, the shifters and the vampires unite in an effort to take down a male they once considered a friend, Destiny is pulled into the dreamscape where Ulric is about to claim Destiny as the ultimate prize. Once again, eighteen year old Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood is torn between friendship and love, duty and family as it pertains to her relationship with Paxton Phoenix, and young Kurjan warrior Drake. Drake, Paxton and Hope have been dream-walking together for years but betrayal may come at the cost of their friendships, a friendship predicated upon secrets and lies. Destiny is more or less a prisoner of the Demon nation, and as such she is at the mercy of their warriors, doctors, and researchers, as everyone battle time in an effort to save our story line heroine but a secret buried deep is about to surface, and with it, Destiny becomes a threat to Garrett and the group known as the Seven. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters as everyone gathers in an effort to take down and stop a man they once called a friend. Destiny may be the ‘key’ to stopping Ulric but blood is the ultimate key to opening the lock.

GARRETT’S DESTINY is a complex and detailed story that reveals and merges several plot elements as Seven come closer to taking down their current foe. The premise is intriguing, entertaining and exciting; the romance is seductive and passionate; the characters are powerful, charismatic and strong.

Rescued and recovering at her grandmother’s home, Heather will be inundated with offers of friendship and food from the Albertini family, including attorney Anna Albertini and the rest of her clan but someone is stalking our story line heroine, and Heather refuses to involve the people she now calls family and friends. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Heather and Quint, and the potential fall-out as Heather finds herself the target of more than one aggressor, both taking aim at our story line heroine.

Heather Davis is struggling to move on from the past, a past that refuses to walk away or let go. Hoping to start anew in the small town of Silverville, Heather never expected trouble to follow in her wake, trouble that is about to pull Heather into a potential disaster. Quint’s last two relationships ended very badly, so much so, that both of the women refuse to back down. Meeting Heather Davis finds Quint focusing on a potential happily ever after but an out of town fire pulls Quint away from the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and fun secondary and supporting characters including several Albertini cousins, as well as Nonna Albertini, Quint’s exes Jolene and Chrissy, his brother Rory, and Heather’s ex Jack.

HOLIDAY RESCUE is a quick read; a fast paced story of family and friendships, rescue, recovery, obsession and love. The premise is engaging and intriguing; the romance is seductive; the characters are numerous and energetic.

REVIEW: SANTA’S SUBPOENA is the fourth full-length instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult ANNA ALBERTINI FILES romantic suspense series focusing on attorney Anna Albertini. SANTA’S SUBPOENA can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but for backstory and cohesion I recommend reading the series in order, as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

Told from first person perspective (Anna) SANTA’S SUBPOENA continues to follow Timber City, Idaho attorney Anna Albertini and the turmoil that is her life. The love of her life, ATF agent Aiden Devlin, is working undercover so our heroine is left to her own devices as her potential stalker is upping the stakes, threatening our heroine at every opportunity-flowers, deadly gifts, bleeding hearts, dead bodies and random parts, and the occasional gunfire to add furor to the mayhem. Meanwhile, a local Santa is found dead, having been stabbed following a night of drinking and poker, a stabbing where the prime suspects are another Santa and the man’s estranged son. Hired for the defense, Anna begins to investigate only to discover a long list of potential suspects, buried secrets, unrequited love and more threats to her life. Devlin’s return brings with it a desperate need to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love but a bungled undercover operation points to a possible mole in the ATF department.

The approach of the Christmas holidays finds Anna on the hunt for the perfect gift, a hunt that reveals she doesn’t know the man with whom she is falling in love. With each purchase, a question remains, but the ultimate choice has been with her all along.

SANTA’S SUBPOENA is a story of jealousy and rivals, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, honesty and love. The premise is intriguing, entertaining and captivating; the romance is subtle yet moving; the characters are energetic, animated and edgy.

REVIEW:REBEL’S KARMA is the thirteenth full-length instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult DARK PROTECTORS paranormal romance series. This is vampire/demon hybrid Benjamin Reese, and Karma’s story line. REBEL’S KARMA can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order or at the very least, this particular arc of the series focusing on the group of Seven beginning with book eight VAMPIRE’S FAITH, as there is a on-going premise throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: A thousand years earlier, a number of immortal warriors went through a ritual that, if they survived, hardened their bodies against attack, a ritual meant to create a group of Seven known as The Shield. The Shield was created to protect the world from an evil race of vampires known as the Kurjans, their sect group known as the Cysts, and ultimately a rogue warrior once considered a friend- Ulric-a male of immense power. To protect the human race, Ulric was captured, and along with two of the Seven, was encapsulated in one of three spheres for all eternity but the spheres are no longer capable of holding the ‘Seven’, and the warriors have returned to Earth. As the warriors search for the ‘Keys’ to perform the ritual, the ‘Lock’ must be protected in order to take down the evil that is hoping to take over the world.

Told from third person perspective REBEL’S KARMA follows the search and rescue of Benjamin Reese’s mate Karma. Three year earlier, having touched our heroine, Benjamin, one of the Seven, discovered that Karma was his mate when the mating mark appeared on his hand but Karma was in the custody of the Kurjan army, and it would take several attempts to rescue the woman with whom he would fall in love. Karma knew it was only a matter of time before one of the Kurjan’s would take her as his mate but our heroine was previously mated, and therefore no supernatural male would be able to lay claim to someone’s else’s mate. Upon her rescue by Benjamin, Karma would receive the virus that removed a previous mating, and in this our heroine would become fair game for any male wanting to claim her as his own. As the Kurjans attempted to steal back Karma, Karma continued to worry about the who and what she left behind. What ensues is the building relationship between Karma and Benjamin, and the potential fall-out as Karma is determined to rescue the people she left behind.

Karma sees spirits, and as such, she is often in communication with the ghosts who have yet to move beyond the physical world but Karma has been brainwashed and fears for her life and that of the future. Falling for Benjamin Reese means placing the man that she loves in the direct line of fire, and Karma believes that to return to her prison means safety for everyone concerned. Benjamin Reese knows that as one of the Seven means that he will always face death and danger at a moment’s notice therefore claiming a mate could mean the ultimate betrayal but falling in love meant a possible happily ever after.

Meanwhile, Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood and her besties Libby and Paxton return but Hope’s ability to dream walk begins to reveal a potential betrayal with someone she once called friend. Kurjan teen Drake, who has befriended Hope in her dreams, proves to be more of a danger than a protector of her heart.

The relationship between Benjamin and Karma is fated by DNA and the supernatural; a love affair threatened by power, betrayal, obsession and control; by promises, secrets, lies and loss. Benjamin refuses to claim Karma to protect her from another possible future alone but Karma knows that it is only a matter of time before someone else demands Karma’s return. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters with plenty of back and forth teasing, sass, snark and humorous moments between the Seven and their mates. The requisite evil has many faces including Cyst Jaydon, and Kurjan Terre, who wants Karma for his own.

REBEL’S KARMA is a story of obsession, secrets and lies, betrayal and revenge. The fast paced premise is intriguing, engaging and edgy; the romance is tender and intimate; the characters are dynamic, intense and spirited. REBEL’S KARMA is a wonderful addition to the Dark Protectors series.

RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE by Rebecca Zanetti is a contemporary, adult, romantic suspense novella found in the multi-authored Lone Wolf anthology. This is cowboy/rancher thirty-two year old Trent Logan, and twenty-four year old, accountant Hallie Rose’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Trent and Hallie) RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE follows twenty-four year old accountant Hallie Rose in the aftermath of an accident on her way through Wyoming cattle country but Hallie never expected to walk into a ranch house, meeting cowboy Trent Logan, a man who stirs something deep within our story line heroine.

Trent Logan suspects Hallie Rose is on the run but our heroine refuses to reveal the truth about her past. With his ‘brothers in arms’ Trent slowly begins to break down our heroine’s walls but Trent and his fellow co-op cowboys are keeping secrets of their own, secrets that are dark and dangerous.
