ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date

He was the town’s golden boy, their all-American hero. But there was a side of him he’d only shown her.

When Lyric Jackson stopped for gas in Redemption, Tennessee, she wasn’t sure what to think of the small town nestled in the middle of the Smoky Mountains. Then she got one look at Holton Clarke, saw that charming smile, and fell instantly. One night with the man in uniform sparked an ember of hope, but things didn’t quite end how she’d expected.

All Holton Clarke ever wanted to do was protect the people he cares about. He thought he’d be able to do that better as a deputy for his hometown, but one call turned his whole world and everything he thought he knew upside down. Including what he’d hoped for his future with a certain sassy librarian.

But when danger from Lyric’s past comes calling, Holton has to put his fears and insecurities to the side in order to save the woman who has gotten under his skin, but she refuses to make it easy, or give him a second chance. Now she’s under his roof, sharing his bed, and throwing him attitude and dirty looks every chance she gets.

She might claim that nothing is ever going to happen between them, but that one night they’d shared was his favorite mistake ever, and he has every intention of repeating it for the rest of his life.

REVIEW:Favorite Mistake is the next installment in the Redemption series by the ever talented Jessica Prince and oh my whole heart went out to these characters. Favorite Mistake can be read as a standalone, but the series as a whole is always better and personally recommended.

Lyric is new to Redemption, looking for a new start and hoping to find a new home. A chance encounter with Holton and she is smitten. When sparks fly between them, the end up having one hell of a passionate night together, but one that doesn’t end quite how Lyric thought it would.

Lyric is who I want to be when I grow up. She is strong, feisty and although life has thrown her through a loop, she keeps on living her life the best she can. Holton, well he is passionate about those he cares about, protective and just the right amount of grumpy to make him funny. He has a heart of gold, even if it has a few bruises. After their night together, Holton runs away, leaving Lyric feeling all kinds of ways. None of them are good.

When parts of Lyrics’ past come back to haunt her, leaving her in a dangerous situation, she finds herself being led right back to Holton. He is the town cop after all. He wants to protect her, take care of her, why she doesn’t know. He ran from their night together and hasn’t been much better since. These two have so much chemistry you can feel it coming off the pages. As the danger to Lyric gets closer, Holton is forced to deal with the things that are holding him back. Walls come down, and both Holton and Lyric must let their vulnerability be known in order to stop what is happening. But can they?

No one does a romance like Jessica Prince! Holton and Lyric are such deep characters who readers can really relate to and feel for. Now don’t get me wrong, Holton had a few moments where I wanted to knock him upside his head, but he had his reasons for doing what he did. The town of Redemption is always a world I love visiting, between past characters, secondary ones and the news ones we meet; they all make up this wonderful place where people can be people and live their lives with those they love. Five Stars!

REVIEW: UNTIL YOU is the first instalment in K. Bromberg’s contemporary, adult REDEMPTION erotic, romance series. This is former Chicago police officer and single father Crew Madden, and book editor Tennyson West’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Tennyson and Crew) UNTIL YOU focuses on the building romance and relationship between former Chicago police officer and single father Crew Madden, and book editor Tennyson West. Chicago police officer Crew Madden in on medical leave in the wake of the shooting of both him and his partner. An offer from his uncle Ian in Redemption Falls has Crew and his daughters temporarily moving, working as a handyman on his uncle’s property but Crew never expected to find his future in the guise of his neighbor Tennyson West, a woman who is hiding a dark secret that may be dangerous to everyone involved. Tennyson West is in hiding, and her past, and her true identity must remain secret but Crew is a police officer, and he recognizes when someone is struggling, when someone is desperation to remain in hiding. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Tennyson and Crew, and the potential fall-out when Tennyson runs fearing her past has come back, hoping to destroy.

The relationship between Tennyson and Crew begins as neighbors; close proximity when Tennyson is forced to move in with Crew and his daughters in the wake of the ongoing construction in her home. Falling for Crew, and his eleven year old daughters is easy, keeping them safe, mean Tennyson must chose between Redemption Falls, or life on the run. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Crew’s eleven year old twins Addy and Paige, as well as Crew’s former CPD partner Justin and his wife Sheila, and newcomer Rhys Palmer.

UNTIL YOU is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and threats, acceptance and love. The fast paced and character driven premise is imaginative, intriguing and inviting; the characters are flirty, spirted and broken; the romance is seductive and hot.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 20, 2023

When she started on the path to her new life, she never could have guessed where it would lead her.

Deva Kent spent most of her life dreaming of escaping. She hated being forced to live among the Fellowship of the Enlightened, the small community closed off from the rest of the world, and was desperate to spread her wings and discover something new. When she applied to be a nanny for a single father and his two-year-old son, the Fellowship wasn’t happy, but she knew that was her fresh start. However, she never thought she’d end up falling for the man with more baggage than he could carry and storm clouds in his eyes.

Laeth Harker’s world fell off its axis the morning a past one-night-stand showed up on his doorstep with a son he knew nothing about in tow. He barely had his own life together and didn’t know the first thing about caring for a child. But after spending most of his life screwing everything up, he was determined to do right by his own flesh and blood. He just didn’t know where to start.

When Laeth hired Deva on as his son’s nanny, she was supposed to make his life easier. But the way he felt about her was the very definition of complicated.

Their feelings might have started off at a slow burn, but once it catches, it’s hot enough to set the world on fire.

••••••

REVIEW: Never has a book title fit a story so well. Slow burn is exactly what Deva and Laeth’s story is. If you can bear through it though, you will not be disappointed. Slow Burn is the seventh installment in the Redemption series by the amazing Jessica Prince, and what a wonderful adventure it was. As always I recommend reading the series in order as you get the most out of it, but it can be read as a standalone.

Deva is desperate to make a change to the life that she hates, her family has them all wrapped up in a cult called the Fellowship of the Enlightened. Deva is ready to branch out of her sheltered, narrow life, and to finally start living the life that she wants. To start her new life she takes a job as a nanny to a little boy. Little did she know that the father that comes with that child would change her life. Laeth doesn’t know what he is doing, but when a son he never knew about needs him, and he doesn’t want to mess up little Cash. The first thing he does is hire a nanny to make his life a little easier. What a choice that was.

Deva and Laeth have one of the best slow burn love stories I have read yet. Deva’s “family” plays a big part in her choice to better her life, but no spoilers. Laeth has a darkness to him that plays really well to the bright that Deva has, and their chemistry is off the charts. Both have a past they are still coming to terms with, but both want a better future. They just didn’t know they needed each other to make their lives whole.

For those readers that love a good grumpy-sunshine romance, this one will be right up your alley. Next to Wallflowers, this book has to be one of my most favorites by JP. Five out of five stars!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 4, 2022.

There was absolutely no way she was falling for her neighbor. No matter how gorgeous he was.

Aurora Keller thought she’d lucked out when she decided to put down roots in Redemption, Tennessee. She had a new business, new friends, and a picture-perfect little house. There was just one problem, and it came in the form of her six-foot-three tattooed, muscle-bound neighbor from hell, who just so happened to be her best friend’s future brother-in-law. It really wasn’t fair that Satan’s offspring was so nice to look at.

Callum Morrison wasn’t a good man. Or at least that was what he’d convinced himself. After a series of bad decisions that had resulted in the worst years of his life, all he was looking for was peace and quiet. Too bad he bought a house right next door to the one woman he wanted but could never have. That was enough to make any man grumpy.

What had started as a war against two neighbors turned into something so much more.

And if they aren’t careful, the fallout could destroy them both.

••••••

REVIEW:JP just does it for me! Every time I pick up one of her books, I am never let down. Blurred Lines is the sixth book in the Redemption series and continues on with characters we’ve met before.

We’re back to small town living in Tennessee, and back to characters that we love. Rora is one of a kind, probably one of the most unique characters I have ever read. She’s sunshine and soulful, but now her life has a tiny little gray cloud in the form of Callum.

Grumpy Callum, her new next store neighbor. These two butt heads from the very beginning, but it’s so funny and sexy that you can’t help but want to read more and more. Callum has done his time and paid his dues for his past, but for him it’s more, his redemption isn’t in his future. When he buys the busted up farm house, hoping to fix it up and settle in, he’s surprised to find that the one woman he can’t keep out of his head lives in the house next store. The spitfire that haunts his dreams and occupies parts of his heart that he thought was long dead, Aurora.

When Rora decides to help Callum out, she ends up starting to like him more and more. When his family brings their drama to his door, it’s Rora that is up in their face defending him. Poor Callum is falling deeper and deeper into Rora, but doesn’t think he is good enough for her or that he deserves her. Rora makes it her mission to heal Callum, but when his hot and cold vibes get to be too much for her to deal with she has a hard time letting go.

Callum and Rora are hot and cold, flighting and dramatic, but they are so funny at the same time, you can’t help but love reading their story. I love how no matter what Callum does, Rora keeps trying to heal him and make him realize that he is worth love, that he deserves to receive it and give it. Rora is that balm that Callum needs in his life, and Callum is that love that Rora has been searching for. This book really does have it all, twists, turns, drama and spice. Their HEA is one for the books.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 12, 2021

She’d spent her entire life as a wallflower, hiding from the rest of the world.

Willow Thorne had gotten really good at blending in with the wallpaper. The shy, quiet little mouse was more comfortable spending her days in her protective little bubble. Then she met a big, burly mechanic who looked really good on a motorcycle and made her feel things she’d never felt before.

Gavin “Stone” Hendrix didn’t do commitment, and love was completely out of the question. After spending the first half of his life taking care of everyone else, he was done being the responsible one. Then he met a shy, nervous brunette who knocked him off his feet and made him question everything he thought he believed.

Willow brought out his protective instincts. Stone made her want to step out of her shell.

No one in a million years expected the hard-as-stone biker to fall for the wallflower, but the small town of Redemption was in for a major surprise.

••••••

REVIEW: Hear ye, hear ye, the wizard of words has graced us with her presence again and taken pity on her humble readers. Wallflower by Jessica Prince is a continuation of The Redemption series, book five in this contemporary small town romance series.

From the moment I met Willow in the previous books, I was dying to get my hands on her story. Willow is like so many women out there, a wallflower waiting to blossom, but sometimes that flower needs something a little more than water and sunshine to blossom. For Willow, that something is Stone. Gavin “Stone” Hendrix, the gargantuan, tatted, motorcycle riding man that poor Willow has been crushing on since he walked back into his hometown.

Now I know what you’re thinking, big bad biker, sweet, bashful Willow isn’t going to be his type, right? *Grins* You know that saying it’s the quite ones you have to worry about? Well that saying was made for Willow Thorne. Under all the bashfulness, the shy-klutzy girl, with her two sizes too big clothes lives a fire breathing dragon.

Stone, from an early point in his life has decided that relationships are not for him. For most of his life, Stone has been taking care of everyone else, his sister and family, and love was out of the question. Having now settled back into his hometown of Redemption, Stone is content to live his life with his one-night stands, his dog, and his cars.

That was until he met a certain dark-haired land mermaid.

From beginning to end, Wallflower is a book you will not be able to put down after starting. With funny banter between friends to happy moments with family, to spicy moments on motorcycles, it has it all. Willow and Stone are matched so well as characters that they feel so alive when you read them. Stone is a manly man, all set up to fight Willow’s battles for her, to take care of her, but that’s not who she is. Stone comes to learn that just being there for her means more to her than having things done for her. Willow has to be one of my most favorite characters from any series or author. With a backbone of steel but covered in kitten fur, she comes into her own in this book. For someone that has always been a loner, to gaining true, loving friends-Rora is freaking hilarious and I love her!- and finding someone that loves her, wallflower and all, Willow is relatable. Get your pre-orders in now readers, it’s a five star review read!

It had been a good day.
Actually, that was an understatement. It had been a great day. At least until I got to my dad’s house to go through his kitchen and see what all he needed, only to discover that Elaina had seriously downplayed the need for food in his house.
I’d played it off that I was totally fine for my father’s benefit as I stewed in my anger while making a grocery list that took up the front and back of the page.
By the time I got to the store, I was in serious need of an outlet, so I cued up the Pissed Chick playlist on my phone, stuffed earbuds in my ears, and got to work. I was halfway through shopping, Alanis Morissette wailing about how you oughta know in my ears when I rounded the corner and my cart crashed into someone else’s.
“Sorry, I—” The rest of the words died in my throat when I looked up and saw the cart I’d plowed into belonged to none other than Stone himself, the very man I’d been thinking about nonstop since my talk with Lark earlier that morning. “Stone,” I said on a gasp, sucking back the air that my lungs had expelled at the mere sight of him. “Hi.”
He said something I couldn’t hear over the music ringing in my ears.
I gave him an apologetic smile and yanked the buds out of my ears. “Sorry, I didn’t hear you. What was that?”
The song had just reached the chorus, the volume so loud it carried several feet, and I could tell from the grin on his face that he definitely heard it. “Wow. Didn’t take you for an Alanis fan,” he said in that gravelly rasp that always made my skin tingle and pressure build between my thighs. What could I say? The man gave great voice. I didn’t know if male phone sex operators were a thing or not, but if they were, he could make a freaking fortune.
“Oh, uh, yeah. Sometimes. I have a playlist I like to listen to it when someone’s made me ragey.”
On cue, the song ended, and the next queued up; this time, it was Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name.”
His eyes went big at the sound of it. “You’re just full of surprises, mouse.”

REVIEW:Guilty Pleasure has got to be the most emotionally involved book Jessica Prince has produced so far. As always with a JP book, I was over the moon excited when I saw we were taking a trip back to Redemption. Small town romances are my bread and butter and always will be.

Guilty Pleasure is the fourth book in the small-town Redemption series. As a serial reader, I always recommend reading any series in order, but this one has enough of the back to story provided that it can be read as a standalone. -It was fun to read about characters from the previous 3 books though.- A fair warning to readers, you won’t be able to put this down after you start it. LOL I picked this up and was deep in the rabbit hole before I knew what was happening.

Lark is a boss. After losing so much at a young age, she found home, family and love in Redemption; everything she wanted so badly. Then suddenly, the floor is ripped out from under her feet and she is left with a gaping whole not only in her life, but in her heart as well. The people she thought where her family, the man she thought loved her and believed in her turn their backs on her. They take the word one someone else. With nothing more to hold her, and everyone wanting her gone, Lark takes her leave from Redemption and swears never to return.

She was done with the town and done with him.

Clay thought he found the love of his life; the one he brought into his family, his life and his heart, but was betrayed. Now she’s back; Lark, the woman who betrayed him and his family. The drama of the past is not forgotten, even if it was seven years ago.

Whewwww, what a read!

Lark and Clay’s story was a whirlwind of drama! I felt for Lark so much in this book. Returning to the place that she knows no one will welcome her, all for the sake of the only woman that has never thrown her away. You can tell how hard this is for Lark, but she is such a strong, independent woman and loves her aunt Sissy. Coming back to Redemption is the last thing she ever thought she would do, but helping Sissy is what she needs. However, when she clashes with Clay and the rest of the town things get heated and the truth finally comes out. Both Clay and Lark struggle with the truth when it comes out and one of them finds it hard to let go of the past.

Take the journey to Redemption and find out just what happens with Clay and Lark! Oh, and a request to the lovely JP; I’m gonna need Callum’s, Pope’s and Willow’s stories pretty, pretty please! I am fully aware I have a reading addiction; I just don’t care. Lol

At Lumpy’s little yip of excitement, I looked down and covered my mouth with a finger. “Shh!” I whispered. “Do you want us to get caught?”
I could have sworn he understood me, because he turned and looked at the kitchen’s doorway, raising his ears slightly like he was listening closely to make sure no one was coming.
“Good boy,” I crooned quietly when he looked back up at me with those big, round chocolaty eyes. “You keep quiet and I’ll give you all the treats.” Just to show him I was a woman of my word, I pulled another piece of thinly sliced chicken from the deli bag I’d found in one of the fridge’s drawers. That was the fifth slice I’d given sweet Lumpy since I spotted Clay’s name written on one side of the bag in black permanent marker.
As far as I was concerned, he totally deserved it. “Is that good chicken?” I cooed, smiling wide when Lumpy’s tail began swishing back and forth across the floor like a hyper little bunny. “Yeah. I bet it is. I bet your daddy spent a pretty penny, getting that from the butcher instead of the sandwich meat section like a regular person.” I pulled out another slice and tossed it up so Lumpy could chomp it midair. Next I was going to teach him how to balance a treat on his nose before catching it.
“Serves him right for making me clean out the stupid fridge.”
I’d been with Morrison Construction for three days, and as I suspected, Clay was going out of his way to make my job miserable. There hadn’t been another blowup like the insanely tense scene in Callum’s empty office, however that didn’t mean he was taking it easy on me. Because he absolutely wasn’t.
But I wasn’t going to let him see how much he was getting to me. The more I swallowed down my snide comments or bit my cheek until it bled to keep from calling him every vile curse in the history of the human word, the angrier he seemed to get. For some reason, it felt like he wanted me to fight back. So I wouldn’t give him that luxury. It was childish, pushing his buttons like that, but I was giving myself that little rebellion.

Sandy’s REVIEW: BITTERSWEET is the third instalment in Jessica Prince’s contemporary, adult REDEMPTION romance series focusing on the people who live and work in Redemption, Tennessee. This is twenty-six year old, former US soldier and security specialist Jensen Rose, and twenty-four year old, single mother Shane Hendrix’s story line. BITTERSWEET can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Shane and Jensen) using present day and memories from the past, BITTERSWEET follows the second chance romance between twenty-six year old, former US soldier and security specialist Jensen Rose, and twenty-four year old, single mother Shane Hendrix. Approximately five years earlier, high school sweethearts Jensen and Shane had their entire future implode when a then twenty-one year old Jensen Rose disappeared without a trace, leaving a pregnant Shane Hendrix to pick up the pieces of her broken heart. Fast forward to present day wherein Jensen Rose, now a security specialist with Elite Security is hoping to reconnect with the woman he loves, and the son he never knew but secrets from the past are about to be exposed, revealing the truth about what happened years before. What ensues is the rekindling romance and relationship between Jensen and Shane, and the potential fall-out as their son is about to become collateral damage I a war of the Roses.

Jensen Rose grew up in a well-to-do but abusive family, and in the ensuing years Jensen had separated himself from the family he disowned. Returning to Redemption, Tennessee gave Jensen a hope for another chance with the woman he loves until the truth is exposed pulling Jensen back into the life he was hoping to forget. Shane Hendrix and her brother Stone had been abandoned by their mother years before, and in the ensuing time Shane was raised by her Aunt Caroline and Uncle Scooter when her brother left Redemption, without looking back. Falling in love with Jensen Rose meant a future with the man that she loved but Jensen’s disappearance threatened to push Shane over the edge.

The relationship between Jensen and Shane is one of second chances; a relationship between two broken souls who found one another at a time when they needed it the most but all was not well in our hero’s life, and walking away was the hardest thing Jensen would ever have to do. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Farah Highland and Cannon Banks (Bad Alibi #1), Jase Hyland and Poppy Weston (Crazy Beautiful #2); Shane’s brother Gavin ‘Stone’ Hendrix, their Aunt Caroline and Uncle Scooter; Elite Security specialist Gage Langdon, and Laeth Harker; Jensen’s parents Whitman and Cordelia Rose; Shane’s former friend Rina, and school bully Ronny; and Shane and Jensen’s son Brantley.

BITTERSWEET is a story of drama and abuse; betrayal and vengeance; second chances, family and love. The premise is emotional and heart breaking; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are edgy, broken but healing.

Sarah’s REVIEW:  Bittersweet is the third book in the Redemption series by the fabulous Jessica Prince. This is such a long-awaited book for me, and such a good read. As a series, I do recommend reading the first two before reading Bittersweet, I feel that you get the back story a little better after reading the books in order.

That being said Shane is one of the best characters I have read before, she loves her son more than anything and does everything to make sure the little guy is happy and whole. She is a force of nature and I couldn’t wait for her to get her happy ending. Jenson on the other hand, I had mixed feelings. Yes, the man has issues, yes he has a past, but even so he left his child. That was a turn off. I really loved seeing them reconnect and work through their issues. You can tell right off how much they still love and care about one another, they just don’t know how to get past the hurt they each have.

As always Jessica Prince will draw out every emotion you think you know, then times that ten times. I cried like a baby when reading this and that in my opinion is what makes a great book, a story that brings out real emotions. Five out of Five stars, such a fantastic read!

“Sure you’ve noticed already, but it looks like big brother wants to rip your organs out through a hole he’s plannin’ to punch in your chest.”

I turned to look over my shoulder toward the section I knew Shane’s family would be sitting in, along with their other friends. They never sat anywhere else but at the pool tables whenever they came in. And sure enough, Stone Hendrix was looking at me exactly how Gage had described.

The dude had about two inches on me and a couple pounds worth of muscle. Every inch of his beefy arms was covered in colorful ink in intricate designs, only making him look even more menacing than he already did.

I’d only met the man twice back when Shane and I were together, but it had been enough for the dude to scare the absolute piss out of me. Now, not so much. I hadn’t been in a fight in years, but that didn’t mean I’d gotten rusty. If anything, with the skills I’d picked up during my time in the service, I was even better at it than I had been back then. It was just that I had my anger issues in check now.

I looked to his left and spotted Scooter sitting next to him—only slightly smaller but no less threatening—looking at me with the same scowl. Instead of turning away, I jerked my chin up, letting them know I wasn’t going to be intimidated into leaving. They knew why I was here. Hell, everyone in Redemption knew. I was here to get my family back, and I wasn’t going to let anyone get in the way of that.

Former Dark Angel Joshua Brandon has skirted a forever un-death in the Underworld until his heart yanks him from his life of debauchery and back into the Human World. He has accepted a very stealth assignment from the man upstairs to perhaps obtain those white wings he’s never wanted until now.

But it will require him turning back to the dark side. And just after his promise is made, the only woman he’s ever loved comes back into his life. She is in desperate need of saving. But as a Dark Angel, the only thing he can do is claim her soul for his own in the Underworld.

Will he have to throw away any hope of redemption, in order to save her?

Book 4 in this popular series about Guardian Angels, Dark Angels, the healing power of love, and good vs. evil. Although, evil can be more fun!

Remember, in this world: Heaven is created by design. The Underworld is created by accident.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: Remember Joshua? No! He isn’t a nice guy, he’s a dark angel with a real bad boy attitude, except that’s not an attitude. Seeing the Underworld for as many years as Joshua did changed him. Tempting angels/guardians to fall from heaven and become a dark/fallen angel. But he was given a shot at redemption, he’s done good so far……

Now God/Father wants him to return to the Underworld and bring back all those angels and guardians, simple right? No! Joshua has been with us through all the previous books, whispering, plotting and conniving in the background, so how come he got a clean slate? (Well to find out your going to have to read the other books)

Melanie loved and lost Joshua, and now with a chance to meet up with him she jumps at the chance. But when she has to travel to the underworld she’s not sure. But with the chance of happiness she has to weigh it all up. Does she want to be with him that much?

I didn’t think Joshua should have had a happy ending, he really had no redeeming qualities, but reading more about him, you have to change your mind. Loved the interaction between Father and Joshua, it did make me chuckle.

I liked this book, we caught up with previous characters, we watch as he interacts with fallen angels (trying to convince them to leave the underworld for heaven) his has admits his faults to Melanie. The spark that was between Melanie and Joshua never really left them. Lots of stuff going on, backstabbing (literally) and double dealings. Who can you really trust in the underworld?

The story sets off at a nice pace, and continues through the book. As in the previous three books, both worlds are written really well. Yes the underworld is dark, but it’s also fascinating, the diversity and the cultures, it’s like a dark earth, but no real law, power is everything and there are a few that want to rule.

So can he let Melanie give everything up to be with him in the underworld? And when his job is finished, what happens to him? Father says he has a place in heaven, he can earn those wings and go home, but what about Melanie? Can he really turn his back on the only person who loves him? Can he leave her a second time? And can Melanie trust Joshua, he’s lied and left her before. What’s to stop the underworld from claiming him again?

I’d recommend you read at least book 2 (this is where we meet Joshua and Melanie.) it’s better if you read them in order, I have and it’s definitely helped.

I’m hoping for a few more books. We still have s couple of characters that need sorting out. So who knows. I’ll hero my fingers crossed.

“My dear, it’s all been arranged. You’ll soon see for yourself.” He always looked so attentive as he bowed his head and gave that flat-lipped smile that extended nearly to his ears. His handsome face was hard to tear her focus from. His bright red lips hinted he might wear lip stain, and in shadow, they nearly glowed. His eyes certainly did, as if lit from within. Although human, Naveen had an aura of an actor playing the part of a dark vampire lord, and couldn’t get enough of his own character. She wondered if he slept in pajamas or animal skin. He had a keen sense of smell, even guessing the exact flowery recipe of her custom-made perfume scent.

HEAVENLY LOVER
The Guardian Angel #1
by S. Hamil (Sharon Hamilton)
Release Date: December 18 ,2013

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk / Amazon.au /

Claire, an unconventional Guardian angel sent to save a sexy Brazilian-born painter from killing himself, discovers Daniel has been preyed upon by a powerful dark angel posing as his best friend and agent. Although successful in saving Daniel’s life, Claire is in danger of losing her own when attraction to her handsome charge blooms into a forbidden love.

The dark angel offers her what she’s only dared to dream about—an eternity with Daniel. Will she sacrifice her soul, or sacrifice a lifetime with a man she knows she was created to love?

•••••••••

REVIEW: First book in a new series, and a new author for me to read.

Claire isn’t your usual angel, as a guardian, she’s suppose to be serious and focused. I’d say Claire was more feisty, opinionated and fun loving than that. Her role is to guide and keep “humans” on the correct path. She’s never failed…..But if the higher powers have their way, it’s going to be Claire’s last job, she’s being reassigned to teaching other angels to be guardians, and she’s not happy about that, not in the least!!

Daniel is an artist, a beautiful soul, destined to do great things. He’s had enough of life, he tries to commit suicide after losing the love of his life. He never expected to become a pawn in the never ending battle between good and evil.

She’s suppose to remain unseen. But all that changes when she sees Daniel trying time end his life. She’s only suppose to guide him in his dreams, but there is something not quite right about this job!!

Josh dark angel (bad guy) his role is to turn his charges to the dark side, he’s never lost one to the light. Losing Daniel is not an option, but watching the angel with Daniel gives josh an idea…..Josh now has a new goal, to turn Claire. He uses the new love that is growing between Daniel and Claire. He whispers, he plots.

Fighting their feelings for one another proves challenging for both Claire and Daniel. It doesn’t help when Josh offers Claire a way for them to be together. To good to be true? With a fallen angel, I’d say it’s more than likely!

Loved the premise of this one, and as it’s a series, I’m hoping we get more of Josh. Beautifully written, characters are well thought out.
The twist and turns in this book had me gripped right up until the end. Scenes set in both heaven/underworld and earth put you there. The angst, the anger and passion are expressed with great care. The fight between light and dark is ongoing, the battle for Daniels soul is the prize.

Claire as an angel is suppose to be focused, we see that side of her, we also get to witness her transformation, the love she fights for Daniel. Daniel is complex, he’s an artist, so you expect them to be a tormented soul, you don’t expect them to try to commit suicide. His love for painting was overtaken by his love for Audray, all consuming, his passion for her was vibrant and exciting. He never thought he’d find her in the arms of another! He’s never going to paint again!

I felt his pain, his anger and then his sorrow at losing her. Life wasn’t worth living. Then his love for Claire slowly growing, it’s not the same as his love for Claire, but to me the loves between Audray and Claire is totally opposite, the slow burn will last longer than the flash fire Audray and Daniel had.

I couldn’t put this book down, and I’m looking forward to the next one. Highly recommend this one.

UNDERWORLD LOVER
The Guardian Angel Series #2
by S. Hamil (Sharon Hamilton)
Release Date:December 14, 2014

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk / Amazon.au /

Joshua Brandon, a legendary and powerful rogue dark angel, meets a human woman whose soul he cannot take, and finds something he has not experienced before: love. At the same time, a new director comes to power in the Underworld, who asks for a test of Josh’s loyalty by delivering this very woman to him.

Melanie Worthington is back among the living, after reeling from the suicide of a close friend. She has no idea she is to become the pawn between two powerful dark angels, one who would command her as his personal concubine, and the other who would set her free.

Will their love survive the battle between the two dark angels, or will Joshua risk his own immortal life to protect the woman he loves?

••••••••

REVIEW: OMG it’s Josh from book one (Heavenly Lover) Dark angel and resident bad guy. He’s training new recruits, but he’s not in the zone. He’s still bristling from losing both a human soul and a heavenly one.

Melanie is slowly recovering from the loss of her boyfriend, she’s sure he tried to save her before he died. Her new love is a flower shop, she loves her job, but still misses him. The only person who ever really knew her.

I didn’t think this book could be any better than the first, I was wrong. I’d come to expect a story full of passion, indecision and twists. I got that in spades. I didn’t think we would be able to redeem Josh, he’s been evil for centuries, convincing humans to end their life for a better one in the underworld (well that’s not going to happen is it?) he’s very good at his job. But he feels like he’s under investigation from the new director, and he’s not sure why!

Melanie was lovely, coming from a rich but cold family, all she’s ever wanted was love and a family, meeting Felix she thought they’d be together forever….. Meeting Josh, Melanie thinks she’s found a new love, but Josh being Josh has been given a task. But will he be able to convince Melanie to come with him? But what if he doesn’t want her to travel to the underworld, what if he wants to stay with her? The attraction Josh feels for Melanie is confusing him no end. He wants her, he could have her, but keeping her? That’s not like him.

(Peter) New Director runs the Underworld, I liked that idea, different from the usual rulers of Hell/Underworld. He’s now interested in Melanie, but why? Is it because he knows how Josh feels about her? Can someone that evil actually want Melanie? Yes he does, but not as a mate/wife, he wants her as a concubine in his harem!

Secondary characters are just as important as the main characters in this book. A lot of time and effort is invested. Audray makes a surprising visit in this book (the woman Daniel loved in “Heavenly Lover”) And Jonas (who I hear you cry) well he’s a player and a much needed character, and that’s all your getting from me?

Third book “Underworld” Queen is next on my reading list.

Highly recommend this book.

UNDERWORLD QUEEN
The Guardian Angel Series #3
by S. Hamil (Sharon Hamilton)
Release Date: December 30, 2014

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk / Amazon.au /

Audray has just assumed the title as first-ever Queen of the Underworld. As she attempts to consolidate her rule, characters from the past threaten to destroy her and the love she shares with Jonas Starling, a 300-year old dark angel.

When she discovers she has been the recipient of a miracle, suddenly their whole immortal lives are changed forever. Will they survive the coming war or get snagged in the power struggle over not only the underworld, but the human world as well?

•••••••••••

REVIEW: Well damn!!! That could have gone either way!!

So, without giving too much away….. Audray is now Queen of the underworld!! Technically still a director, but she likes Queen better. She’s also the first ever female to rule the Underworld.

Jonas a dark/fallen angel, totally devoted to Audray. His previous life was full of misdeeds and adventure, and finally as a fallen angel for the past few centuries. Meeting Audray has been a rollercoaster, lust, fun, lust, dismemberment. But recently he’s been having feelings…. does he care for his Queen? Certainly, he’d die for her, but love? Not sure about that one.

Carl is a human professor, his love of history has put him in the firing line, being asked to dig up information on a landowner from the 17th century, he stumbles upon something he shouldn’t have.

Molly is the cute librarian that works in the reference section of the university that Carl works at. She’s had a crush on him forever, but she knows he won’t look at her, she’s too young for him. But she can look.

You can read the book without reading the first, but personally I wouldn’t, your going to miss out on two wonderful previous books, but also it gives you lots of background on Audray.

Now I was prepared to hate Audray on sight, my least favourite person in the whole of this series so far! Why? I hear you ask, well….. nope I can’t, if I do, then I spoil the other books. But she really isn’t a nice person. So I did wonder how she would or could redeem herself?

When reading further into the book you get more of her past. It’s not been easy for her, so you now know why she gave up and became a dark angel.

The thought of Jonas and Audray getting a happy ending was a little annoying, they both were really nasty in previous books. But they slowly grow on you. They have broken backgrounds, so it shapes you, so why shouldn’t they have a happy ending? And if they do commit to one another, love each other like they they are beginning to, what will it mean for the Queen of the underworld?

I have to admit, I was a little disappointed with this one. It felt rushed, it seemed less polished than the last two, and in some ways written by someone else!! The dialogue felt crass and cruder than the others. And for a while I did wonder why Carl and Molly were there. So what they doing there?

S. HAMIL, Sharon Hamilton’s twisted sister, writes paranormal romance with a central theme of the healing power of true love. Her characters from multiple worlds including Heaven and the Underworld are angels, dark angels, vampires and some who are not quite sure what they are. They follow a bumpy path to redemption, but not exactly what they taught you in Sunday School!
