REVIEW:FIGHTING FOR HOPE is the seventh instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult REDEMPTION HARBO SECURITY romantic suspense series.a spin off set in the author’s REDEMPTION HARBOR series. This is former special forcers soldier and RH security specialist Bradford, and investigative journalist Hope Berkley’s story line.
Told from omniscient third person perspective FIGHTING FOR HOPE follows months after the Vegas wedding of former special forcers soldier and RH security specialist Bradford, and investigative journalist Hope Berkley but our heroine ghosted the man with whom she fell in love, choosing to spend her life investigating those who did not want to be found. A call from Sheriff Crow,, the sheriff in her father’s home town of King’s Creek Louisiana reveals her father did not have much time to live but upon her arrival, her father was gone, and our heroine found herself embroiled in battle for her life. With the return of her husband Bradford, and his team of specialists from Redemption Harbor, an investigation would ensue, uncovering King’s Creek darkest secrets, buried under ground, where no one can see.
The world building focuses on the search for the truth as our heroine become the target of some powerful men. King’s Creek hides a dangerous secret, and the lies go all the way to the top.
The relationship between Hope and Bradford is one of second chances. Bradford wants to pick up where the couple left off but Hope is struggling in the face of the threats, and the secrets her father took to the grave. Bradford is determined to prove the are worthy of their own happily ever after, and in doing so, becomes guardian and protector of the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters including several of the previous story line couples, from both the interconnected series, as well as the introduction of Mia, Sheriff Crow , café owner Kim and many other towns people, The requisite evil has many faces.
FIGHTING FOR HOPE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, obsession and murder, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is suspenseful, dramatic and edgy; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are desperate and determined.
