The world building follows a betrayal from the past that has affected the Carmichael family, and Callan has been caught in the middle. As Callan struggles with his attraction to Beth, Beth’s own secrets are about to be revealed.

The relationship between Callan and Beth is one of second chances but Callan doesn’t do relationships in the face of his family history, and Beth is falling for a man who struggles to love in return.
