Told from dual first person perspectives (Amy and Elijah/Jake) FANGIRL follows the building online relationship between Amy Sinclair and Elijah Cohen. When Amelia Sinclair discovers the movie producers are eyeing American action hero Jake Hollander as the lead for our heroine’s favorite novel, Amy begins an online tirade on a forum for fans of Jake Hollander but quickly finds herself the target of fan based anger and vitriol. With the help of the forum moderator Elijah, Amy and the fans are quietly contained but in doing so, our couple begin an online friendship that will slowly turn into something more. Elijah claims to be the moderator, but Elijah is more than he claims to be, and as the weeks and months pass, our couple find themselves virtually falling in love. An invitation for a visit, and a movie premier threaten the future for our couple when Amy discovers she has been catfished, and the man with whom she was falling in love breaks her heart.

The world building follows the weeks and months, back and forth between Amy and Elijah/Jake. Jake is desperate to be normal, wants to be loved for the person not the star, and in this, Amy is struggling with feelings of inadequacy, enhanced by the social media slurs, paparazzi, and a few well placed comments and motions from the people in Jake’s life.

The relationship between Jake and Amy begins online, with great banter and fun but the fun is about to end when Amy discovers everything she thought she knew about Elijah was a life. The back and forth building relationship is about to become a reality but in this the betrayal and lies are enough to push Amy out of his life. Things will go from bad to worse when a reconciliation is targeted by the people in Jake’s life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the to, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Jake’s best friend and struggling fellow actor Will Winters, and Amy’s best friend Maya. I am hoping the author has future plans for Will.

FANGIRL is a story of secrets and lies, friendships and relationships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is inviting and imaginative; the romance is tender, sensitive and impassioned; the characters are sassy, lively and compelling.

REVIEW: BROKEN RIVALRY is the first instalment in RG Angel’s contemporary, new adult SILVERBROOK UNIVERSITY erotic, romance series . This is nineteen year olds, Poppy (Lockwood) Donovan, and Ethan Hawthorne’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Poppy and Ethan) BROKEN RIVALRY follows in the aftermath of the family downfall. Two years earlier, Poppy’s life and the lives of her family imploded. Struggling in the aftermath, Poppy would miss her first year of college, before accepting a scholarship to a local university but Poppy never expected to come face to face with the boy who had become her bully, the son of the man she partially blames for everything that went wrong. Enter Ethan Hawthorne. Ethan is a star soccer player at Silverbrook University, an institution of which his father did not approve. Ethan refused to be pulled into his father’s world, and set about to make it on his own but coming face to face with the girl that has starred in all of his fantasies and dreams meant struggling to win back the only girl that could break his heart. What ensues is the rebuilding friendship and growing relationship between our story line couple, and the potential fall-out when Poppy believes their love is predicated upon a life.

The world building reveals some of the back story and history between our story line couple, as well as some of the heart break of Poppy’s two new best friends. Poppy and her family were once part of the elite of society but betrayal and vengeance would come at a cost.

The relationship between Poppy and Ethan is one of second chances of a sort. Frenemies in high school, the struggling relationship would be destroyed by the sins of the fathers. Having lost everything, Poppy and her family would struggle to rebuild but the battle was far from over. As Poppy and Ethan’s relationship slowly turned into something more, Poppy would discover that everything had been all a ruse. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Poppy’s roommates Evangelina ‘Eva’ and Vanessa: Ethan’s friends Cole and Liam; Poppy’s brothers James and Billy, their mother Julia Donovan, and Cole’s parents. There is a prior history between Eva and Cole, one in which Cole is hoping for a second chance, and Eva struggles to forgive or forget.

BROKEN RIVALRY is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, bullies, forgiveness, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating, emotional and heart breaking-the bullying is limited as Ethan realizes the ‘error of his ways’; the characters are struggling, broken, charismatic and charming; the romance is seductive. The epilogue fast forwards three years.

REVIEW:  GHOSTS is the fourth instalment in RG Angel’s contemporary, adult THE SYNDICATE erotic, crime world romance series. This is thirty four year old former Yakuza second in command Jiro Saito, and twenty-two year old Hope Myers’ story line. GHOSTS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jiro and Hope) following two time lines, GHOSTS focuses on the hunt for our heroine’s missing brother. Twelves years earlier, a then twenty-two year old Jiro Saito’s girlfriend Anna was gunned down, and our hero believed the bullet was meant for him. Fast forward to present day, Jiro’s guilt has yet to be alleviated but when Anna’s sister Hope asks Jiro for help finding her missing brother, Jiro had no idea that Hope would be the balm to his pain. As Jiro and the Yakuza go in search of Hope’s brother Leo, secrets with reveal a pain like no other for our story line heroine. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Jiro and Hope, and the potential fall-out as Jiro’s time with Hope comes to a close.

The world building continues to look at the blended yet separate worlds of the underground, criminal lifestyle. The deeper Jiro begins to dig, the more he suspects that Hope’s brother is involved in something bad. Still struggling with the murder of the woman he once loved, Jiro knows it is only a matter of time before his life bleeds into the heart of our story line heroine.

The relationship between Jiro and Hope is one of immediate attraction but Jiro continues to carry too much guilt and grief, and with the reappearance of Hope Myers, Jiro suspects the guilt will never be assuaged. As our couple circle one another with their barely veiled sexual attraction, Jiro suspects Hope is the only woman who could ever control his heart, even though he believes he does not deserve a second chance at love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include the return of Jiro’s former boss Hoka and his wife Violet (Her Ruthless Warrior 1) , Jiro’s man Oda, as well as Hope’s boss Max, and Hope’s struggling mother. Most of the previous story line characters are present or by way of mention.

GHOSTS is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, dysfunctional family dynamics, forgiveness, acceptance and love but to add, not as dark as many Mafia related story lines. The fast paced premise is heart breaking and emotional; the romance is fated and seductive; the characters are desperate and determined.
