Reading Order:

NOLA Knights:
Book 1 His to Defend
Book 2 Hers to Tame
Book 3 Mine to Keep

Review:

Mine to Keep by Rhenna Morgan is the 3rd book in her Nola Knights series. It seems like ages since I read book 2 Hers to Tame (which I read and loved) and I have to admit I had forgotten how much I had liked that book, so I was ready for book 3…..

Bonnie is Cassie’s friend (MC from Hers To Tame) . Her life is crappy at the moment, two jobs to just make ends meet, she’s constantly having to bail out both her brother and father in whatever scheme they are embroiled in. She’s also trying to make a dent into the hospital bills her father has accrued (he’s waiting for a liver transplant)

Her life takes a nasty turn when both her father and brother have an altercation with an unseen foe (she’s hiding in her fathers bedroom at the behest of her brother) noises are heard, then silence, both of them are missing, and there is blood! The only person Bonnie can turn to is her new best friend Cassie (and hope it doesn’t end the start of a friendship)

Why Cassie you ask, well, she’s in love with a Russian Mafia Mobster (or Bratva) So Bonnie thinks that maybe Kir can help?! But is it asking for more trouble becoming involved with the Mafia? But what choice does she have?

Roman is happy with his life, an enforcer, a job he takes seriously, it’s gotten him out of the hell hole he lived in, so he’s grateful and a hard worker. He’d love to have what Kir and Sergei (MC in book 1 His to Defend is his Pakhan or boss) have, but he know that won’t ever happen, so he will get his happiness within this family. He becomes involved when Cassie gets a phone call asking her to go to a part of town he knew her husband would not like. (He’s away at the moment, and Roman takes his wife’s security very seriously) So he drives Cassie to see her friend.

Bonnie is amazing, she wants to walk away from her troublesome family, but she can’t do that, so she works a multitude of jobs to help. She has a quick brain, and an even quicker mouth. She’s not afraid to voice her opinion, but she’s a very private person.

And I thought I loved Kir, well move over dude, my heart belongs to Roman, he’s such a teddy bear, he’s a family man at heart, and a core of loyalty that is never in question. But cross him at your peril. He’s also had a hard life, so he’s in a position to understand why Bonnie is so guarded. He also thinks that once Bonnie really gets to know him, she’s going to walk away (his mother left him at an orphanage, so why shouldn’t Bonnie?!)

The story is well put together, enough action to keep you entertained, it’s a pretty fast paced book once Roman and Bonnie go looking for her father and brother. Very descriptive, and it has it’s funny moments (like when he saw Cassie start to play matchmaker between Roman and Bonnie) I’ve not read the previous series (Men of Haven) and it doesn’t matter if you haven’t, but when we catch up with them, listening to how they found each couple, has me itching to read more.

Reading the interactions between Roman and Bonnie had me sighing with delight, he wants to take care of her, and she’s suspicious of his intentions, she’s also worried that If she gets to attached, it would break her when he left! Only by showing her his intentions does Bonnie slowly come round to his way of thinking.

Her brother and father are a liability! Both have taken the easy way out for years, but being Ki napped and beaten by their captors certainly shakes loose a few home truths! And when Bonnie becomes a bargaining chip, will Roman and his family pull the city apart to find her? You bet they do!

I’m going to have to go back to visit Cassie and Kir, and as I never read Sergei’s book it looks like a visit to Amazon ?

Highly entertaining, and highly recommend you pick up this book.

Hers to Tame by Rhenna Morgan –  Review & Spotlight

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Book Depository / Google Play / Apple

Description:
Book two of NOLA Knights, the heart-stoppingly sexy spin-off series by Men of Haven author Rhenna Morgan

As an avtoritet for the most powerful crime syndicate in New Orleans, Kir Vasilek doesn’t act without purpose, doesn’t speak without thought and never, ever loses his cool. The lives of his brothers, his family, depend on it. But then Cassie McClintock strolls back into his life, and staying cool is next to impossible. Cassie was the one who got away—and Kir is willing to break all his own rules to keep it from happening ever again.

It’s one thing to report on the Russian mafia; it’s quite another to sleep with one of them, especially one as dangerous, and as sinfully sexy, as Kir Vasilek. Even though the information he once provided helped make her career—and the memory of his touch still keeps her up at night—Cassie knows too much about his world to go down that path.

But when Kir reaches out for help after a rival family comes for one of his own, Cassie doesn’t want to say no, either to investigating a gruesome murder or to the heat that pulls her right back into his arms…and his heart. Taming Kir—and helping to save the family she’s come to call her own—is not the story she thought she’d write, but it’s the one she’s determined will get a happy ending.

Review:

Hers to Tame by Rhenna Morgan is the 2nd book in her NOLA Knights series.  I’ve not read the first book, but I don’t think you need to worry too much.

Kir use to be a bodyguard for the Bratva, now he runs a crew of his own, but he’s not the boss, that title belongs to his brother Sergei “His to defend” although not blood brothers, they guard each other’s backs and love each other like brothers.

After watching Sergei fall for Evette, Kir longs for the same connection with a woman, but his past won’t allow that to happen (being sold into a Bratva as a young boy changed him) so Kir settles down to fact he will remain alone.

Cassie is a reporter but, she’s not really had a good story in a while. She needs a fresh story, but going back to a source she used before maybe difficult. But if she needs to stay at the top of her game, Cassie is going to have to swallow her pride and ask the one man she walked away from.

Almost from the moment they reconnect you can see that Kir wants Cassie on a permanent basis. Not just as help finding out who killed a member of his crew, but as a companion, maybe even more of a commitment!!! He makes plans to show her his world and his family.

Cassie really likes Kir, but she knows about his background and is very wary, but after meeting his “family”, she sees a different side to the Bratva and Kir. But there is her job to consider! Won’t people wonder how she got her stories? And will they assume they will favour Kir and his family?

But there is the murder to solve, and Cassie’s involvement may put her in the firing line! Is someone targeting her? Kir? Or the whole Bratva?

I liked this book, in fact I’m off to find the first book.

The sex isn’t too over the top, and there is isn’t too much either?

The connection between Sergei and Kir got me wanting to find out more, and what made the boss man fall for Evette, and then there is Roman (another group leader) he’s as close to Sergei as Kir is (and rumour has it, that his book is next)

I’d recommend this book all day long. The plot flows really well. Characters are a delight to read about. And doing research on the author I found a series in which a lot of characters that we meet in this book are from (so this in theory is a spin off series) but you don’t need to read it, it just gives you more info on the characters. But I think that’s another series to be added to my never standing TBR list ?

“Please take this in the spirit it’s intended, but you work for a man who’s suspected of leading a growing crime family. I don’t think me telling you where I live is a good idea.”
“1023 South Franklin Avenue.”
Cassie stopped so hard she wobbled slightly in her heels. “How did you… I mean, I only just moved in there.”
His smile softened and his words were offered with gentle deliberateness. “I’m a very thorough man, Cassie. You can’t possibly think I wouldn’t learn everything I could about a person before I shared important information with them.”
Very thorough.
Frighteningly so.
She shook the foreboding off and resumed her trek to the station, albeit on slightly less stable legs. “All the more reason for us to meet someplace public.”
“All right. Then I’ll pick you up and take you somewhere.”
“Not necessary.” She checked both ways on the street and hurried across. “Just tell me where you want to talk, and I’ll meet you there.”
“I’m afraid my retrieving you and escorting you is nonnegotiable.”
She frowned at him, but kept going. “You’ve got a lot of points you won’t negotiate. Tell me why this one’s one of them.”
“Because while I’m very much interested in hearing what you have to share, I’m not interested in anyone else hearing. The best way to ensure our privacy is to make sure no one else knows where we’re going—including you.”
She stopped just six feet from the station’s front door. “You don’t trust me?”
“Should I?”
Hmm. He did kind of have a point. And given how she’d stiffed him after their second date, he still might be wondering if she’d simply used him. “Fine. Pick me up at my place tomorrow at eight. But don’t pick any place fancy. A coffee shop, or someplace simple. And not Starbucks either. It’s criminal what they charge for coffee.”
His mouth twitched as if it were all he could do to keep a wisecrack trapped behind his lips. “You seem determined to expose me to establishments with limited standards.” He nodded, the picture of gentility and confidence. “I’ll endeavor to pick a location that suits your expectations.” He held out his hand, palm up. “Until tomorrow, then.”
He had great hands. Not too smooth like someone trapped in an office, but a man’s hands. Slightly calloused, with long fingers and blunt fingertips. Of all the things she’d replayed from their time together, his touch had been the most frequent. Which was exactly why she’d be smart to avoid any and all physical contact with him going forward.
Glutton for punishment and well-mannered Texas girl that she was, she slipped her palm against his.
Oh, yeah.
Still amazing.
Electric and warm. Supercharged and bristling with promise.
And that was just her hand.
“Thank you again for the dinner. It wasn’t necessary, but I appreciate it all the same.” Hating the breathiness in her voice, she tried to release her hand.
Kir held it tight, the pad of his thumb subtly moving over the tender spot between her thumb and her forefinger. As if he were remembering other, more in¬timate places he’d touched her. “I assure you. The pleasure was all mine.”
He gently released her, turned without the least amount of hesitation, and strolled toward the parking lot like he didn’t have a care in the world.
Watching him was something to relish. An indulgence she didn’t even realize she’d taken until he
stepped off the sidewalk and turned to open the door to his car.
Great. And now he’s busted you ogling him.
She swung one of the double glass doors open and strode into the arctic reception area.
“Girl, that dude was hot,” Bonnie said before Cassie’s eyes could adjust from the blinding sunshine outside. “He your boyfriend?”
“Oh, no.” She set the paper bag on the counter and shook her head. “Just a contact that helped me out on a few stories a while back.”
And ruined me for other men, but why quibble over details?
Bonnie took the bag and opened it, but the look on her face and her answering chuckle said she didn’t buy a word Cassie’d said. “Uh-huh. Looked to me like he was plotting how to peel you out of your professional getup.”
Yeah, it’d felt like that, too. But she wasn’t going to think about that now. Or ever, if she could help it. “Nope. Just talking business.” She waved toward the bag and headed back toward the newsroom.
“Good business, or bad business?”
Cassie swung the door to the hallway open and cast Bonnie one last look. “I haven’t decided yet. Could have been the lottery, or the biggest wrong turn of my life.”

His to win. To protect.
To provide for and pleasure.

Priest Rahandras has lived with the darkness trapped inside himself for years. Betrayed by his own brother and forced to watch his clan’s brutal annihilation, the only thing Priest wants more than to escape the curse that haunts him—as both man and beast—is to rebuild.

Until the mate he’s longed for walks into his life with an elder from his past. She’s everything he’s wished for, and the key to the clan’s very survival.

Kateri Falsen is a woman of logic and facts. While Priest’s cat can sense her arousal, telling her they’re fated won’t be enough. He’ll have to show her his love: with his words, with his actions, and with his body.

Protecting Kateri from the evil trapped inside him is paramount. But when lost clan members are systematically murdered, he’ll have to choose between exposing his mate to his black magic, or risking her as the next victim.

Review:

Guardian’s Bond by Rhenna Morgan is the 1st book in her new Ancient Ink paranormal romance series. Since I love Rhenna Morgan’s stories, I looked forward to reading this new series.  Guardian’s Bond turned out to be an exciting, intense, and sexy start.

Priest is a panther shifter, and the leader of his clan.  He is the High Priest who goes to the otherworld to help new members meet the Keeper, and as they go through their soul quest (find their companion and shift).  Priest has lived much of his life in darkness, having lost his family to his evil brother, whom he thought was dead; but despite the darkness for him and his cat, Priest is still a good guy, who takes care of his pack.  When he has just about given up on finding a mate, he meets a powerful young girl, who has no idea about what she truly is.

Kateri (Katy) arrives at Priest’s tattoo parlor, with her brother Alek and Naomi (Nana), and both her and her brother will learn everything there is to know.  They have both been sheltered from their mother and father, who never told them about their heritage.  When she meets Priest, Katy can feel the bond between her and Priest, but her fears of the unknown will make her difficult to deal with, and distrustful of Priest.  But the pull of the mating bond will in time change everything, and she will slowly open herself to Priest.

Priest first has to train both ALek and Katy how to fight and be ready for their soul quest. Kateri wants to know everything, as she has always been about learning, knowing the facts and finding the reality of what she thought was just fairytales.

What follows is an exciting adventure that will bring them all in danger, especially when the evil brother returns to try to control the pack and kill Priest.  What I loved was seeing Katy get through her soul quest, and find a companion that is equal to Priest’s Black Panther; her new found powers will also be instrumental in saving them against such powerful evil.

The romance between Priest and Katy was very steamy,  with some very graphic sex scenes.  Morgan has created a great group of secondary characters, such as Tate, Jade, Alek, Naomi, whom I hope we will get future books on.  I do not want to give spoilers, but I will say that  Guardian’s Bond was an exciting, fun and sexy story that was very well written by Rhenna Morgan.  If you love Paranormal romance, scorching couple, great secondary characters and excellent story line, I suggest you start this series.

Except saving Natalie means outing his own secrets—and it could mean losing her forever…

Review:

Claim & Protect by Rhenna Morgan is the 3rd book in her wonderful Men of Haven series. I love this series, and Rhenna Morgan just keeps on giving us another sensational story focusing on the hot hunky Men of Haven.  The women who tames their hearts  are tough, independent and pretty cool themselves.  Each book has had great couples, and there is so much more to come.

In Claim & Protect, Trevor Raines is our hero, and he wins our heart almost immediately.  Trevor owns a bar in Dallas, and has a large ranch he calls home.  One night at the bar, Trevor is hanging around his ‘brothers’, when he notices one of his new hires is breaking a ‘no phone’ rule during working hours.

Natalie Jordan, our heroine, needs her job, but she has some issues at home.  When Trevor approaches her about using the phone, she tells him that her mother is taking care of her 7 year old son, and her ex was giving her a hard time.  Trevor tells her to go home to be with her son, and he will make exceptions to his rule.  However, sensing something more, Trevor decides to check on Natalie at her home, and comes upon the abusive ex forcing his way into their house.  Trevor manages to arrive just in time and introduces himself as Natalie’s new boyfriend, which temporarily will make the ex leave.

Trevor convinces Natalie to go along with the ruse to keep her ex at bay, and despite both of them not wanting any relationship, things will slowly change.  Natalie finds herself very attracted to Trevor, but feels she is not his type.  Her son, Levi, immediately loves being around the cool, smart, savvy Trevor, to the point of hero worship and learning about horses on his ranch. Trevor, having watched Jace and Zeke (in previous books) fall in love, doesn’t plan on falling in love.  However, emotions are hard to control; especially with a woman & a boy, who begin to call to his heart

The romance between Natalie and Trevor becomes hot and steamy, which Morgan does very well.  Though there were a lot of sex scenes, it did not take away from the story, which was wonderful.  What follows is Trevor doing all he can to stop Natalie’s ex, and getting his “brothers’ to help.  Natalie does not want to lose custody of Levi, which her well connected ex threatens to do.  But the men of the Haven Brotherhood are more powerful, and together they will stop the ex from trying to frame Trevor in illegal drugs, and turn the table against him.

This was an exciting, and emotional storyline, especially revolving around Natalie and Levi.  The sexual chemistry between Trevor and Natalie was off the wall sizzling, and I loved them together.  Another sensational couple that Morgan has created, and it was sweet, sexy and beautiful to watch them realize that they were falling in love.    What makes this series great, are the wonderful characters that make up the Men of Haven , and the woman who become part of it.  Levi was a great addition to the story, and elevated the emotional heartwarming element.  Claim & Protect continues the trend of fantastic stories among the men of the Men of Haven.   Rhenna Morgan continues to rise up in becoming an author I cannot wait to read. You need to be reading this series.

Review:

Wild & Sweet by Rhenna Morgan is the 2nd book in her wonderful sexy Haven Brotherhood series.  Having enjoyed the first book in this series, Rough & Tumble, I could not wait to start this book, and I have to say this was equally as good as the first book.

Gabe Parker, our heroine, is a shy introvert, who works as a mechanic.  Gabe lives with her brother, Danny, whom we met in the first book of this series.   When Gabe comes home after work, she sees something by her next door neighbor, who is away.  When she goes to investigate, she is attacked by an intruder.

Enter Zeke Dugan, our hero, who is also one the men in the Haven Brotherhood that we met previously.   Zeke is a trauma doctor, and he is with Danny when the call comes from Gabe for help.  Zeke finds himself attracted to the shy Gabe, but being Danny’s sister, he tries to avoid any entanglements.  Since Gabe doesn’t like hospitals, it will be Zeke who will treat her for her broken ribs, and he becomes very protective of her.  Gabe suffers from social anxiety attacks, and though she has a hard time trusting anyone, in a short time, she begins to feel more comfortable with Zeke.  When she sees the men of the Brotherhood, she worries about Danny, and feels that Zeke couldn’t possibly be interested in her, especially since she is a lowly mechanic.   But Zeke is falling hard for the beautiful and sweet, Gabe, and his protective instincts have him noticing that something is wrong around the neighborhood, with realtors wanting to buy and owners moving out.

His concerns will bring, Jace, Axel and the rest of the Brotherhood to investigate what is happening. Gabe gets to meet them all, including Viv (our previous heroine) and the two mothers of the group.  While this is going on, Danny is elevated to become a full fledged member of the Haven Brotherhood.

Gabe, though being shy, always does things by the book, including following the law.  She becomes concerned that Danny might be getting over his head, and when she discusses this with Zeke, he explains that they will do anything to protect their own, but they try to stay within the law.  This will scare Gabe, even when she knows she has fallen in love with Zeke.  When her life is in danger, it will be the Brotherhood who will come to her rescue, and Gabe will need to rethink her views.

I loved Gabe and Zeke, as well as the rest of the guys in the brotherhood, and the ladies.  The romance between Gabe and Zeke was as the title says, Wild and Sweet.  Zeke was so perfect for the shy Gabe, and their chemistry was off the wall. The mystery and suspense within this beautiful romance was exciting and emotional.   The secondary characters are all so great; I cannot wait for their stories in the future books.  Rhenna Morgan as done it again with another wonderful addition to this fabulous series, which was a fantastic ride to the finish. I suggest you start with Rough & Tumble, and become invested into the Haven Brotherhood.

He’s proud of who he is and where he came from, and he’ll be damned if he lets Vivienne go before showing her the safest place of all is in the arms of a dangerous man.

Review:

Rough & Tumble by Rhenna Morgan is the first book in her new Haven Brotherhood series.  I loved Rhenna Morgan’s other series, and when I started this new series, I was not sure what to expect, as It was a totally different type of series.  I am happy to say I loved Rough and Tumble.  It had a wonderful, highly sexual romance with a great cast of characters.

Jace Kennedy, our hero, is wealthy, gorgeous, sexy, charming, and he loves to live on the edge.  He perfectly fits the rough and tumble description.  Jace and his ‘brothers’ own a series of clubs, which is not the average club for just anyone….enter at your own risk.  Jace and family also have some enemies, who would like nothing better than to bring them down, at any cost.

Vivienne (Viv) Moore, our heroine, also comes from an unhappy childhood.  She is trying to build on her new business, as a planner for events.  One night, she is desperately called by her wild younger sister, who is drunk at a club.  When Viv arrives to take her home, she meets Jace, who will help her with her sister, and though she feels the strong attraction, she quickly leaves.  But Jace has already set his sight on the woman who draws his attention, and frankly, she doesn’t stand a chance.  Jace is that hot; that sexy and determined to win her over.

What follows is an exciting story with a wonderful romance that will eventually change both of their lives.  Viv cannot resist Jace, though she knows that she is over her head.  She never grew up in a loving family, and when she starts to meet Jace’s ‘brothers’, and family, she begins to learn what it’s like to be part of a family.  As much as the romance is scorching hot, and maybe a bit more than I usually like to read; but the characters and the story line was sensational.  The men protect their family, and they will work together to fight off the enemies, including protecting Viv.  I loved all the ‘brothers’ and cannot wait for their stories.  Axel was one of my favorites.  I did not like Viv’s sister, but I am sure we will learn more about her in the future.  I loved how Jace immediately knew Viv was the woman he wanted to fill his life, and how he slowly worked on proving to her that she belonged with him, and also building her confidence that his family was nothing like her own.  I thoroughly enjoyed Rough & Tumble, and Rhenna Morgan has once again pulled me into another one of her wonderful series.   Look forward to the next book, Wild & Sweet.

Eden series – Book #3
by Rhenna Morgan
Release Date: July 5, 2016

Waking EdenAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM / The Book Depository

Description:
The only hope for saving their race is to surrender their hearts.

With a long foretold and annoyingly vague prophecy warning of immense change for Eden, Ramsay Shantos is forced to hunt words and legends instead of rebels. For a man of action, it’s the worst kind of agony. Until he encounters a sexy librarian who bears the fated prophecy’s mark. A mark no human should possess.

Tortured by her mixed heritage, Trinity Blair has enjoyed little human touch in her life, let alone intimacy. Even the most innocent contact fills her mind with a person’s deepest, darkest secrets—except for Ramsay. Her immunity to his thoughts sparks a fragile hope that she might finally experience the passion of her Dark Spiritu brethren…unless he’s the dangerous crossroads her father predicted.

When knowledge of Eden goes viral in the human realm, Trinity is Ramsay’s only hope for quelling mass panic. Can he risk revealing the secrets of his race to the guileless ray of sunshine? Or is she the unknown source of Eden’s destruction?

Review:

Waking Eden by Rhenna Morgan is the 3rd book in her Eden series. We knew after Eryx and Lexie were mated in the first book, and Galena and Reese in the second book, that this book belonged to Ramsay. Even though his siblings (Eryx and Galena) found their mates, Ramsay doesn’t believe he will ever need a mate.  Ramsay is his brother’s protector, and takes his job seriously, especially with some unrest in their kingdom.  He enters the human territory to try to discover the true meaning of a prophecy warning about a big change in Eden.  While relaxing with his friends in a bar, he bumps into Trinity, our heroine, and immediately falls to the floor unconscious.

Trinity Blair is secretly a spiritu; she has the ability to touch people and see everything about them, including deep dark secrets.   Trinity avoids touching anyone, and when she accidently bumps into Ramsay, she realizes he is not affected by her touch.   Ramsay discovers that Trinity is more than human, and makes it his business to learn more about her.

What follows is a romance that will heat up quickly, as Trinity finds herself attracted to the hot hunk that Ramsay is, and the fact that now she has found someone who can make her enjoy his touch.  Ramsay is attracted to Trinity, but sees something around her neck that is a duplicate of Lexi’s branded tattoo.  Who is Trinity Blair?  Once Eryx and Lexie (they have a nice size part in this story) find out about the pendant, they are determined to bring Trinity to Eden.  Ramsay goes back to Trinity, and shortly thereafter, her secret is revealed causing Ramsay to bring her to Eden.  Lexi and her become close immediately; with vibes that they are somehow related.  Ramsay has always kept himself distant from relationships, but in a short time he begins to feel a pull towards Trinity, and knows she is the woman for him; first he must get past the fear of being involved with a spiritu. Ramsay and Trinity have a lot of sizzling chemistry together, especially as he teaches her all the things she has missed being unable to touch anyone. Trinity has a hard time coming to terms that she belongs in the Myren life, and soon will meet the Spiritu King and Queen that will help guide her in what she is and how to use her powers.

Serena, one of the villains, in the first book returns.  Eryx and Lexie know she is bad to the bone, but they cannot prove it.  We get to see Serena join hands with traitors against Eryx to plot his demise.  This evil group wants to take over Eden, and destroy all humans.  Will they prevail?

Much of this is left hanging for the next book.  I loved Ramsay and Trinity together, and was happy to see much of their issues resolved. I also loved seeing our other heroes from the first two books continue to be a big part of this story. Together, Eryx, Lexi, Ramsay, Trinity, Galena, Reese and those loyal to them will have to work together to understand the prophecy and defeat their enemies, and this series will continue.

Healing Eden by Rhenna Morgan – a Review

Healing EdenAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM / The Book Depository

Description:
Nothing good grows in the shadow of secrets.

A reluctant warrior in a rebellion he abhors, Reese Theron has buckled beneath blackmail to keep the circumstances of his birth on lockdown. He’s lost everything that counts—the right to fight for his king, the trust of his best friend, and any hope for a family of his own. Death seems preferable, until Galena Shantos meets him at his fateful crossroads and saves his life.

Galena’s loyalty to her brother, the king, is absolute. Healing his warriors on the sidelines of war, she’s witnessed too many rebellion atrocities to be swayed for mercy. Yet something about Reese blurs the lines of allegiance, the call to her heart raw and primitive.

When Reese ends up a prisoner of war, he’s visited by a mysterious being of another race and learns he’s the linchpin in a battle between good and evil. The lovers will face choices—Galena between family loyalty and championing Reese’s cause, and Reese between keeping his shameful secret, and saving all races by leading the darkest of his kind to redemption—starting with his own confession.

Review:

Healing Eden by Rhenna Morgan is the second book in her Eden series. To give you a brief refresher, Eryx and Lexie were our mated couple in the first book, when Lexie discovers she is human and Myren. She comes to Eden to stand beside her mate, Eryx, the King of Eden. Lexi and Eryx were hot and in this book they both continue to play a major role to bring peace for the Myrens against the evil forces trying to takeover Eden.

In Healing Eden, Galena, who is Eryx’s sister, and Reese, considered a traitor to Myren, are our heroes in this book. During a battle, Reese is captured and put into prison. Galena, who is a healer, helps heal his wounds. Her other brother, Ramsey, who was a long time friend to Reese, many years before, threatens to kill him unless he gives up information on the villain, Maxis. Pushing her brother away to allow her to heal Reese, Galena feels the immediate attraction, as well as sensing all that is good with him. Reese has never forgotten his feelings for the young Galena, when he was on Ramsey’s team, and even in the dire position he is in, he cannot resist kissing her.

Galena cannot get her feelings for Reese under control, and tries to get her brothers to allow Reese to help them find and destroy Maxis.   The truth will come out why Reese left the Shantos family, and went to Maxis. Decisions are made that will give Reese a chance to redeem himself, and earn back some trust. Galena knows how she feels, and knows Reese is telling the truth, and she fully trusts him. But dealing with her stubborn brothers is not easy.

What follows is an exciting adventure where Reese will put himself in danger to help stop the rebellion and Maxis. There were a number of surprises throughout the book which kept our interest.

A very nice romance between Galena and Reese, that has help from Lexie, who pushes Eryx to read Reese’s mind to learn the truth, and to allow his sister to have what she wants…Reese. This was a nice story, with some wonderful characters. I loved Eryx and Lexie in the first book, and now they are joined by Galena and Reese. I am hoping Ramsey will get his story in the next book. Rhenna Morgan keeps the flow going smoothly in Healing Eden, and making us wait impatiently for the next one.
