He believes in fate…

Here’s my plan: Crash through the ceiling of my family’s business to become the best hotelier on the West Coast. Nothing rattles me when it comes to a challenge and hard work, but when I spot my almost one-night-stand in my lobby, I’m thrown totally off my game. Alejandra is my dream girl. The one I can’t forget who got away – literally. Which might explain why I blurt out to my meddlesome, matchmaking grandmother that Alejandra is my date for her fast approaching and highly choreographed eightieth birthday party.

She’s been on pause…

Some decisions are harder than others, but agreeing to a date with Drew isn’t one of them. He’s a charming and gorgeous curveball I didn’t see coming, but the more time we spend together, the harder it is to remember to play it safe. I’ve made a promise, and even though I’m now torn: I have to honor it in order to move on from the past. Drew feels like my future, but I’m about to put everything I want in jeopardy.

“Is it okay if I take this seat?” a man asks. The masculine voice is deep, seductive. Friendly.
That’s what resonates deep inside me, and I don’t have to think twice about my answer. I also don’t have to turn my head to know who’s asking. “Sure.”
“I’m Drew,” he says as he gets comfortable beside me.
I take a moment to breathe in his clean, spicy scent before I look at him. “Alejandra.” “It’s nice to meet you, Alejandra.”
“You, too.” Up close, he’s even better-looking. Eyes a shade of blue-green I’ve never
seen before, neat hair longer on top than the sides, broad shoulders that fill out his tailored suit coat. I’d venture his outfit cost more than my monthly mortgage.
He notices my glass of water and waves a hand at the bartender. A thick black watch peeks out from his sleeve. His hand is big, capable-looking. “Can I buy you a drink?”
With the way my pulse is racing, he absolutely can. I may need several to calm my nerves. “I think I saw a blood orange margarita on the menu.”
“Good choice.”
“Hey, Drew,” the bartender says. “What can I get you?”
“Two blood orange margaritas, please. On the rocks.”
“You got it.” He drops a cocktail napkin in front of Drew and one in front of me. “You seem to know a lot of people,” I say.
“A few. What about you?”
“I’m here with my sister and two friends. They’re on the dance floor.”
“It’s lucky I got to you before someone else, then.”
I can’t get my head down. It’s a good thing my light brown skin doesn’t give away my blush easily. Are there other people here? All of a sudden it doesn’t feel like it.
“Looks like you took one for the team,” he says next.
“What?” His knee taps mine as he swivels and nods to my boot.
Oh, that. I grin. What a nice way to put it. Not only is Drew the hottest-looking man in this bar, but he’s decided I’m caring rather than klutzy, something no stranger has done in the five weeks I’ve been injured. “Team captain right here,” I say.
“Your T-shirts have a ‘W’ on them, don’t they?”
It takes me a second to follow his train of thought. Wonder Woman. “Laying it on a little thick, aren’t you?” I tease.
He smiles and I’m hit not only with flirty intensity, but sincerity, too. He might be coming on strong, but his compliment is genuine. “Is it working?”

“Smooth,”I say with a shake of my head. He no doubt compliments every woman he meets. “But overused.” I put out my palm. “Hand over your phone. I’ll take the picture.”
He looks like he’s ready to yank the sling off his arm and throw it across the parking lot, but instead he gives in to my request. I put the card down on the hood of my car and snap the photo. After checking to make sure it’s a clear shot, I say, “Would you mind letting me know the cost of fixing your car before we go through insurance companies? I may pay out of pocket.”I hate the idea of depleting my savings account, but it might be the better option in the long run.
“Sure.” His fingers brush mine when I give him his phone back, and a surge of heat charges up my arm. Our eyes lock. Hold. “I should also get your digits then—” he glances down at the photo “—Chloe Conrad.”
His saying my name shouldn’t make me weak in the knees, but it does. We’re no longer strangers, not that he’ll remember me or give me any thought beyond fixing his car.
I snag the phone back and type in my number. Then I call myself. My phone rings from the car. “Now I’ve got your number, too.” I never answer my phone if I don’t know who’s calling.
“Would you like a name to go along with it?”
“That’s okay.” I hand back the phone.
His blue eyes dance. “You already know it.”
“Why would I know it? Are you famous or something?” I turn to go before he can see the truth on my face. “I’ll wait to hear from you and uh, sorry about hitting you. I don’t think I said that.”
“No worries.”
I wish. Life isn’t exactly going to plan at the moment. At least my next job assignment should be easy. My boss said it was a perfect fit and I’d get the details on Monday.
“Oh, and Chloe?”
I pause before sliding into my car and look at Finn.
“Nice try.” He tips his head toward my front bumper and winks. Actually winks! Normally I find winking cheesy, but not when Finn does it. His wink is like a calling card for let’s get naked and run our hands and mouths all over each other.
Then it hits me. My license plate frame. It says Baseball…The Perfect Game. Shit. Can’t a girl catch a single break?
“See you around, Webster.”
No, he won’t. Not if I can help it.

“Hey,” Madison’s gentle tone is music to my ears after the phone call I finished with Drake a few minutes ago. I lift my head from my computer to see what’s up as she slips all the way into my office. “I just emailed you the final trending forecast for Indonesia and Rwanda, so if that’s all, I’m going to head home now.”
I glance at the time. Jesus. It’s nine o’clock. I kept her late because James has been breathing down my neck about the expansion project. She’s been amazing helping with it, her contact in Indonesia a big plus.
“Okay. Thanks, Mads. I really appreciate all your help. Good night.” Damn it. I quickly drop my gaze. It’s the first time I’ve slipped and called her Mads in a while. Ever since we got back from Tahoe a little over a week ago, we’ve been nothing but appropriate with each other.
It hasn’t been easy.
Every time I look at her, I feel connected to her beauty and intelligence in a way I’ve never felt before, and I tell myself in order to keep her, I have to let her go.
“You should head home, too,” she says, taking the chair across my desk and drawing my helpless gaze, because there is nothing I’d rather rest my tired eyes on than her. “You’ve been working late every night.”
I reach over my shoulder and rub the knots there. “Some weeks are like that.”
“Is there anything else I can do so you get out of here quicker?”
“No. You’ve done enough. Thanks for the extra hours you’ve put in.” It hasn’t been a hardship working late when Madison is on the other side of the glass wall.
“Thanks for trusting me with so much responsibility. I’ve learned a lot from you.”
“We make a good team.”
“We do.” She stands and moves around my desk toward me.
In typical pulse-pounding fashion, my heart beats a little faster. What is she doing?
“Friend to friend, let me at least help with that?” She lifts my hand out of the way and starts massaging my upper back and shoulders.
I’m an idiot, because no way in hell am I about to refuse a massage from her. I don’t tell her no, that’s okay. Instead, I drop my chin and let my head loll forward. She did put us in the friend zone.
She kneads my muscles with perfect pressure, using the heel of her hands and fingers in flawless coordination. Add back massage to her list of extraordinary qualities. It feels so good that when I sigh in total surrender, I don’t give a shit.
“You’re really tight,” she says.
I’d like to find out how tight she is.
“I’ve been told I carry my stress there.”
“I think a lot of us do.” She digs a little deeper. I had no idea her small, delicate hands contained so much power.
“Feel free to stop as soon as you get tired.”
Her hands still. “Do you want me to stop?”
“Not even a little.”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 20 2017

I wasn’t supposed to see Levi Pierce ever again. A few months ago, he charmed the pants off me and we spent one incredible night together.

End of story.

Only it wasn’t. Pretty soon everywhere I turn, I see him. Our best friends are dating. My mother mistakenly—and happily—thinks he’s my plus-one to my cousin’s wedding. And he’s the guy I have to work with on the most important job opportunity of my life.

Here’s my problem: I like Levi. I like his killer smile and his dreamboat eyes and definitely the way he makes me feel in bed. But I’ve sworn off relationships. So when the sexual tension reaches epic proportions and we fall back into bed together, I tell myself it’s temporary. When I start to feel more, I tell myself it’s over.

Only Levi isn’t a forget-it kind of guy. When his lips are close to mine and he swears he’s always wanted me, my defenses disappear. But some things in life just aren’t meant to be.

Or are they?

REVIEW: LIPS CLOSE TO MINE is the second instalment in Robin Bielman’s contemporary, adult WHEREVER YOU GO erotic, romance series. This is photographer and cameraman Levi Pierce, and twenty three year old Harper McKinney’s story line. LIPS CLOSE TO MINE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Levi and Harper) LIPS CLOSE TO MINE follows the building relationship between photographer and cameraman Levi Pierce, and Harper McKinney, a woman struggling with ghosts from the past. Harper and Levi were childhood friends but somewhere along the way, they grew up and went in opposite directions. Several months earlier Harper and Levi reconnected for a sexy one-night stand, a night neither one is willing to forget…but Harper doesn’t do relationships, and Levi’s heart was destroyed by a previous love. A chance to work together brings Levi and Harper back into one anothers radar, and the proverbial sparks continue to fly. What ensues is the rebuilding friendship and relationship between Levi and Harper, and the potential fall out when Levi’s past comes looking for a second chance, and Harper’s darkened memories continue to plague her days and nights.

Harper McKinney struggles with a direction in life. An Olympic swimming career that was sidelined by an accident and loss finds our heroine aimlessly searching for that one thing to bring her back on line. Levi Pierce battles between his head and his heart-a heart that begins to beat for our story line heroine but a heart destroyed by a previous love.

The relationship between Harper and Levi is one of second chances, of a sort, between childhood friends who reconnect following a one-night stand; whose roommates, best friends and siblings are all interconnected making for some uneasy moments in the palpable sexual attraction between our story line couple. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Mateo and Teague (Talk British to Me #1), as well as a large number of acquaintances, friends and family-extended or otherwise, Harper’s old swim coach Brad Halloran, and Levi’s roommate Elliott.

Talk British to Me Giveaway Robin Bielman

TRC: Congratulations on the June 2017 release of TALK BRITISH TO ME

Robin Bielman

Robin: Hi! Thank you so much! And thanks for having me here today.

TRC: We would like to start with some background information. Would you please tell us something about yourself?

Website /Facebook /Twitter /Goodreads/

Robin: I’m married to my high school sweetheart. We have two boys and a mini labradoodle named Harry, and since it’s baseball season, that’s what’s on TV all. the. time. 🙂 Right now I’m on a taco kick, and since it’s been quite warm in So Cal, an ice blended vanilla latte kick, too. 🙂

TRC: Who or what influenced your career in writing?

Robin: I’ve always enjoyed writing, but it took a long time for me to figure out it was romance novels I wanted to write. The first romances I read were by Carly Phillips and Vicki Lewis Thompson, so I’d say they had a big influence on me as I learned the craft.

TRC: What challenges or difficulties have you encountered writing and publishing your stories?

Robin: Time is probably my biggest hurdle! I also have a part-time day job, so between that and wanting to be with my family, too, I often struggle with managing it all.

Talk British to MeTRC: Would you please tell us something about the premise of TALK BRITISH TO ME and the WHEREVER YOU GO series? Will Harper and Levi’s story be next?

Robin: The book takes place in Los Angeles and centers around Mateo and Teague. Mateo is The Dating Guy on a popular morning radio show and he uses a British accent and fake name (Bennett) to stay anonymous. Teague works for the biggest wedding planner in Beverly Hills and has a huge crush on “Bennett.” When she meets the all-American Mateo IRL, friendship and sexy shenanigans ensue as the two navigate their feelings for each other. 🙂 And yes! Harper and Levi’s story is next.

TRC: Do you have any plans to participate in another multi-authored series similar to the Bachelor Auction?

Robin: That was so much fun to write and I loved working with other authors, but no. Right now I have no plans for another series like that. I am, however, co-writing a book with the awesome Samanthe Beck, and I’m super excited about it. It’s scheduled to release early next year.

TRC: What kind of research/plotting do you do, and how long do you spend researching /plotting before beginning a book?

Robin: I am a huge pantser! Which means I write by the seat of my pants, and don’t spend a ton of time plotting before I start writing. I do flesh out my characters and have a brief outline so I have some idea of the story, but basically I love to just jump in and go where my characters take me. Sometimes this backfires on me, and I stare at my computer screen for hours before typing a word, and on those days I wish I was a plotter! LOL

TRC: How did publishing your first book change your writing process?

Robin: I don’t think it changed my process. However, having deadlines now means I have to get the words on the page no matter what.

TRC: What was your hardest scene –ever-to write?

Robin: Ever? Hmm…I think it’s one in my next book, actually. I can’t give it away, but it involves Harper and her past.

TRC: There is a fine line between romance, erotic, and erotica in many of today’s popular contemporary fiction. Many authors are re-issuing their previously erotic story lines with ‘cleaner’ versions without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. What do you believe has precipitated this move or change in direction?

Robin: I think it’s probably to reach a broader audience. I love reading all kinds of romance, but I think universally, what we all love is the “will they?” or “won’t they?” and that’s written in the sexual tension between characters, not the actual act.

TRC: Do you believe the cover image plays a deciding factor for many readers in the process of selecting a book or new series to read?

Robin: Definitely.

TRC: When writing a story line, do the characters direct the writing or do you direct the characters?

Robin: My characters totally lead me!

TRC: The mark of a good writer is to pull the reader into the story line so that they experience the emotions along with the characters. What do you believe a writer must do to make this happen? Where do you believe writer’s fail in this endeavor?

Robin: Have a good editor. For me, I’m lucky in that my amazing editor always knows where to help me dig deeper so that readers will hopefully feel what my characters are feeling. It’s hard to always get what’s in my head on the page and that might be where we all falter without some assistance from someone who is reading the story with fresh eyes.

TRC: Do you listen to music while writing? If so, does the style of music influence the story line direction? Characters?

Robin: I don’t listen to music while writing, but I often listen before I write. Usually when I’m on my treadmill. That’s where I do my best thinking!

TRC: What do you believe is the biggest misconception people have about authors?

Robin: That writing a book is easy. It’s hard!

TRC: What is something that few, if anybody, knows about you?

Robin: Growing up, I played competitive tennis and had dreams of being a professional.

TRC: On what are you currently working?

Robin: I’m currently working on the third book in my Wherever You Go series. It’s Elliot’s turn!

TRC: Would you like to add anything else?

Robin: Thanks again!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 19, 2017

As the Dating Guy on L.A.‘s top morning show, I give the single guy’s perspective on dating, love, and sex—and I give great advice. Everyone’s hooking up…well, except for me. Sure, I can get any woman I want, but I’ve got a “no relationship” clause in my contract and the only woman I want has “relationship” written all over her. Probably stamped on her ass, too. And wouldn’t I like to confirm that.

Unfortunately, she wants nothing to do with me. At all. Something about the next Ice Age might have even come up in her rebuttal. Adorable. Because she’s determined to ignore what one simple kiss proved: she wants me as badly as I want her.

Everything in me is screaming to go after her, but I’ve got a secret that I’m fairly certain will end up with her roasting my nuts over an open fire. So, job on the line? Check. Nuts on the line? Check. Can’t get her out of my head? Nail…meet coffin. But what a way to go…

••••••••••••

REVIEW: TALK BRITISH TO ME is the first installment in Robin Bielman’s contemporary, new adult WHEREVER YOU GO romance series This is radio host twenty three year old Mateo ‘Bennett’ Gallagher, and twenty two year old barista/PA Teague Watters’ story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Teague and Mateo) TALK BRITISH TO ME follow the forbidden relationship between barista/PA Teague Watters, and radio talk show host Mateo Gallagher. Mateo is the ‘Dating Guy’ and does a weekly radio show talking about his dating experiences but a stipulation in his contract states that he must remain single. Enter Teague Watters-the woman who has caught Mateo’s eye-and a woman who is off limits in more ways than one. What ensues is the building relationship between Teague and Mateo, as Teague battles to keep her job as the new PA to one of L.A.’s most prolific and notorious wedding planners; and Mateo struggles to keep his personal and professional life separate.

As part of the job Mateo is expected to serial date-a new flavor of the week every weekend, but our hero never expected to fall in love- a complication that could affect his job and his on air personality. Not only was Teague not one of Mateo’s weekly dates but our heroine never knew the professional side of the man with whom she was falling in love, and in this Mateo’s secret life begins to take its’ toll on our story line heroine. Teague Watters battles between her head and her heart knowing that to get involved with Mateo Gallagher would mean risking her job and reputation.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including
Teague’s extended family, her best friend Harper, Teague’s roommates Elliot and Levi. We are also introduced to several wedding and bridal clients –some of whom are very close to the Gallagher family. There is some definite history between Harper and Levi-history that has yet to be revealed or explored.

The world building focuses on the relationship between Teague and Mateo from friends to friends with benefits, to lovers and so much more; Teague’s struggle with her attraction to a man who has been declared off limits; and Mateo’s battle to keep secret the on-air personality of the Dating Guy. With the introduction of family and friends, there is plenty of opportunity to continue the Wherever You Go series.

TALK BRITISH TO ME is a sweet, sexy, and passionate story about two people with different plans for the future. The premise is entertaining with a little bit of humor, fun, drama and romance. The characters are intelligent, colorful, dynamic and charismatic; the romance is seductive; the $ex scenes are limited without the use of sexually graphic, over the top language and text. TALK BRITISH TO ME is a lighthearted, heartwarming and energetic tale that will captivate your heart with its’ delightful story.
