Review:

Script of the Heart by Robin D. Owens is the 15th book in her wonderful Celta Heart Mates series. The Celta series takes place in a futuristic world, filled with magic, animal familiars, telepathy and romance.

We meet our heroine Giniana Felix at the start, as she is desperate to come up with funds to save her Fam cat, who is very old, and possibly dying.  There is a possible last chance treatment that cost a fortune, and Giniana  is working overtime for other houses as a healer for those residences.  Giniana has no time for herself, and when she meets an actor, she brushes him off, since she has no love for actors, because of her childhood family memories.

Klay St. Johnswort  (Johns), our hero, is one of the best actors, and now with his show closing, he is desperate to find a new gig.  When he hears about a missing script by a well-known author, Johns is determined to find the script, which will help him win the lead of the new show.

He meets Giniana and is immediately attracted to her, even though she dislikes actors.  In a short time, Johns and Giniana will act on their feelings, and a romance begins.  Johns begins to worry about Giniana working herself to the bone, and not eating or getting enough sleep. As his feelings grow, he does what he can to help Giniana with her struggles, and to prove to her he is worthy of her love…actors are not all bad.

Johns is at first afraid of her fam cat, but things change when he rescues a kitten.  Giniana will accept the kitten, and her older cat decides the kitten is his fam.  This was a cute and fun part of the story, as the kitten was adorable, and the older cat adopted the kitten. I have always loved the fams in all the stories.  Listening to them speak telepathically is always enjoyable and so much fun. In Script of the Heart, it was great to have two Fams.  I really liked Johns and Giniana, and rooted hard for them to stay together.

What follows is an exciting, sweet romantic tale, with a bit of a mystery finding the script, as well as the suspense if Giniana will find a way to pay for the treatment, and if it will save her Fam.

Once again, Robin D. Owens gives us another wonderful addition to this series, with two unlikely people, who will find true love.   If you enjoy romances in a fun fantasy magic world, you should be reading this series. I am a big fan of this series, and always love visiting Celta and the Fams.

Review:

Celta Cats by Robin D. Owens is a collection of short stories in the Pov of her wonderful Fams, from  her fantastic Celta series.   This book is a pure fun enjoyable read, especially for fans of this series. I have said in many of my reviews on the Celta series that my most favorite things are the Fams we get to meet in each and every book.  The cats are in the majority, but there have been many other animal species.

Fams can talk to their human companion out loud or telepathically, and they are fiercely loyal to their human.   They also have magic flair that enables them to do various things, including teleporting; though not all Fams are the same.  They are all so much fun and add so much to the overall story.

When I heard Robin was going to do a book on some of the Fams we know, especially Zanth, with short stories in their POV, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the book, and I thoroughly loved each story.  I will not write a review of each story, as they are short and the above description gives you an idea what each is about.  Celta Cats was a fun lighthearted book to read, and as I said before, if you are a fan of this series, it is a do not miss.

Review:

Heart Sight by Robin D. Owens is the 15th book in her wonderful Celta series. The Celta series takes place in a futuristic world, filled with magic, animal familiars, telepathy and romance.

We meet our hero, Vinni (Muin) T’Vine early on when, when he visits his heartmate, Avelanna (our heroine), whom he has sent away to protect her from possible danger.   Vinni is the prophet of Celta (since he was a child), and forsees attempts on Avellana’s life, as the big T’Vine family doesn’t want him to bond with his heartmate.  Seems Avellana has a power that people do not like, and they feel she isn’t worthy of the T’Vine family.  Vinni has waited years for Avellana to be old enough to for Avellana to be older, and to Heartbond with her;  but now he stills sees these visions, and wants to her stay away.  Avellana is now grown up, and misses her home, and being able to use her amazing mural creations.  She stands up to Vinni, and will not leave again; her home is where she belongs, and tells him she will work together with him to fight their enemies.

What follows is an exciting, and sweet romantic tale of two people who have known each other since childhood, and knew they were destined to be mates.  The threat is real though, but Vinni will do all he can to get help to protect Avellana, as they get closer to finalizing their bond.  Another nice element to the tense situation is Avellana’s partnership on a new project for specialized made to order homes, in another territory, which will help Avellana become more independent financially.  I loved the two of them together, but I loved their fams (Rhys, Avellana’s the cat & Flora, Vinni’s bunny), who talk telepathically, as well as help them.  So much fun.

Once again, Robin D. Owens gives us another wonderful addition to this series.  Heart Sight was a fun, romantic story with a tense and suspenseful mystery.  If you enjoy romances in a fun fantasy magic world, you should be reading this series..

Review:

Ghost Maker by Robin D. Owens is the 5th book in her Ghost Seer series.  Ghost Maker begins not too long after Ghost Talker left off.   Clare still has an injury caused by an evil ghost, and nothing the she or Zach, or even Enzo (their ghost dog spirit) do can fix the injury.   While she slowly tries to recover, Clare continues to take on cases to allow people to speak to their loves that have passed on or help ghosts who need to move on to heaven.  Zach worries about Clare’s injury, as he can see her health deteriorating.

Zach becomes involved in a mystery about a missing boy.  At the same time, they find out that there is a healer, who may be able to help Clare.  They to Manitou Springs, Colorado to look for the ghost healer.  Sister Juilana Emmanuel cannot move on, since she feels she must take care of the other ghosts, and help the young boys being tortured by an evil ghost.  Clare will try to work with Sister Juliana to help the boys and find the ghost who inhabits another person’s body.

The case intensifies with more deaths of young boys, and Zach’s case comes closer to finding the missing boy. What follows is an exciting story with Clare putting herself at risk to find the killer, and helping Sister Juliana.

Enzo plays a big part in helping Clare, and I adore this ghost dog; he is so much fun.  I can actually feel the cold when he goes through Clare.  J   In Ghost Maker, the romance between Zach and Clare escalates to more scorching sexual encounters, and they do have hot chemistry. As much as I love Clare and Enzo, and the recurring supporting characters, at times I do get annoyed with Zach.  He is stubborn, and comes across as unlikable at times, though he does love Clare.

Once again, Robin D. Owens does a great job continuing the flow of Clare becoming more and more content in her seer abilities and to want to help ghosts move on to heaven. These are fun stories that take place in western towns, with ghosts usually from the same era in the old west.  I suggest you read the first book in this series to be able to understand how Clare slowly evolves.

He has no time or inclination for love . . . but his family disapproves of his nothing-but-work life. They decree that he must visit a matchmaker or lose his position.

Enata Licorice, a respected librarian, has been doing research in a mysterious records vault . . . and is finding odd blanks in her memory. Lonely, she yearns for a good husband and arranges a matchmaking session of her own.

It’s love at first sight for Barton and Enata, but both are crucial members of their families. Clans who practice opposite lifestyles. And both families demand the couple’s time and attention, causing strife.

While trying to resolve their issues, Barton discovers Enata’s secret and they must work as a couple to resolve the puzzle that includes Barton’s missing relatives — if they dare. And if they fail, more than their own lives are lost.

Review:

Lost Heart by Robin D. Owens is the first novella in her wonderful Celta series. Celta Heartmates series takes place in a futuristic world, filled with magic, animal familiars, telepathy and romance.  We meet our hero Barton Clover early on when his brother is forcing him to stop looking for two missing members of the Clover family.  Barton is head of security for the entire Clover family, and he is a workaholic, determined to protect those in his family.  Barton’s brother wants him to see T’Willow, the Celta matchmaker, since it is time for Barton to find a mate, even if she isn’t a heartmate.

Enata Licorice, our heroine is a librarian, in her highly respected Licorice family, who has been currently trying to solve an issue of memories being erased.  Enata sees her sister happy having found her lifemate, and is somewhat jealous.  She puts herself into her work, feeling she will never find a mate. When she visits T’Willow with her family, the matchmaker finds her match.  Barton will be brought in to meet Enata, both given a love potion and love is in the making.  In an unusual change, they are not Heartmates, but they are meant for each other and fully in love. In Celta, not everyone has Heartmates, only a select few, but many find their mates and live happily ever after.

After Barton and Enata are married, which does have some very steamy sex scenes; they must visit and meet both families.  What follows is an interesting story, which will have both of them researching why those missing family members are forgotten, and together they will attempt to solve the mystery.  In the middle of their investigation, Barton will find his cat fam, Resup, a little kitten, who acts like a full grown cat.  Enata will also find her fam, a beautiful bird.  One of the best things about this series is the familiars, whether it’s a cat, fox, bird, etc.  I love the fun we have with them as they talk to their humans telepathically, and also help them.

Lost Heart was a fun, sexy story with a nice mystery.  Robin D. Owens did a wonderful job writing this addition to her Celta series, especially be able to give us everything we love about the series in the shorter novella format.  Great series that you should be reading.

Ghost Talker by Robin D. Owens – a Review

Ghost TalkerAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM

Description:
An angry poltergeist is stirring up trouble at Buffalo Bill’s grave, and Clare and Zach have been hired to investigate. Assisting them on the case as usual is their ghost dog Enzo, but they’re also aided by the restless ghost of Bill’s friend, Texas Jack. Meanwhile, the most well-known psychic in Denver is angered by Clare’s involvement in the case and will do whatever it takes to stop her.

Of course, facing threats both living and undead are nothing new for Clare and Zach. Their relationship has weathered many storms. But there is a growing danger inside of Clare that could tear them both apart…

Review:

Ghost Talker by Robin D. Owens is the 4th book in her Ghost Seer series. I enjoy this series, as it is a different type of read for me, with ghosts as the main theme.   Robin D. Owens is a wonderful writer and I love two of her other series.   She can take any theme, usually different and paranormal or fantasy and make it fun and believable; she also has a way of creating great characters.

In Ghost Talker, we meet up again with Clare, Zach and Enzo as Clare is involved once again to help a ghost move on. But first there usually is a mystery or something to prolong it. I loved Ghost Talker and I thought this was the best one yet. Clare becomes more confident, and her relationship with Zach grows into love for both of them. Together, with Enzo, our loveable ghost dog, they all three make a great team.

This new case for Clare had a nice calmer ghost, not some evil spirits from previous stories. There was a villain, who pretended to talk to the dead, taking people’s money and being the fraud he was. He was determined to bring Clare down. Actually the story revolved around two ghosts, Texas Jack and a poltergeist, who is a recent ghost who is confused and wild. Before Clare and team can help Jack move on, he had to help them solve the issue of the new ghost and help him move on.

This was a fun story, with a lot of attention paid to Clare and Zach’s hot romance, and the coming to terms with their calling and accepting it. Though Clare is the Ghost Seer; Zach does have some psychic ability of his own, which is more of a warning system with crows. There was excitement and danger, especially when the fraudulent medium sees his ruse being revealed and goes after Clare. To tell too much more would be spoilers.

I really enjoyed this story, and am very happy that Clare has finally fully accepted her calling.   Again, Enzo makes this a fun journey with his antics and helping both Clare and Zach. Robin D. Owens does a wonderful job of continuing the adventures of Clare, Zach and Enzo with an exciting, at times tense, historical tale of the old west, though in modern times, and the great romance between Clare and Zach. If you enjoy mysteries, adventure, excitement, fun, ghost element and a sexy couple, you should be reading this series.   I suggest you start with the first book, since you need to see the growth of Clare, Zach and Enzo. You can never go wrong with anything written by Robin Owens.

Heart Legacy
Celta series – Book #14
by Robin D. Owens
Release Date: November 3, 2015

Heart LegacyAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM / The Book Depository

Description:
After the death of GrandLord Yew years ago, the Yews withdrew to their self-sustaining estate and disappeared from Celtan society. The current head of the household is believed to be eighteen-year-old Loridana. To find out, Draeg Blackthorn has been sent to the estate to spy, undercover as a stableman for the stridebeasts—beautiful creatures that hold a place in Lori’s heart no member of her family ever could.

Bullied by her family, Lori has decided to abandon her bloodline and live on her own with her true family—her animals. When Draeg discovers she’s rejecting her heritage, he’s appalled. He’s come to love the land as much as the woman, even spinning small fantasies of marrying Lori and becoming Lord and Lady of the manor. Draeg wants her to stay and fight her elders. For Lori, it’s an alternative that could render her absolutely powerless to pursue her own destiny, and drive her further away from her perfect dreams and the man she loves, Draeg.

Review:

Heart Legacy by Robin D. Owens is the 14th book in her wonderful Celta series. This story belongs to Draeg Blackthorn and Loridana (Lori) Yew. The Yew’s have been distant and separated from the rest of the first families in Celta for many years, not trusted or well liked due to their villainous past.  Lori is only 18, but she should have been given the title of D’Yew to run the estate. However, Lori has been bullied and ignored by the other Yew family members, as well as residence. They are mean to her, and she has no say as to the estate, which rightfully is hers to run.

Draeg has been sent to spy on the estate, as a stableman, to discover what is happening in the Yew household and uncover who is behind the villainous attacks against the first families. Draeg meets Lori’s famcat, Baccat, who fiercly protects her, and warns Draeg to stay away from the mean house. Once Draeg meets Lori, he knows immediately that she is not the one behind the attacks.

In a short time, both Draeg and Lori find themselves attracted to each other. Draeg tries to fight the attraction, but Lori is desperate to act on her feelings, which worries Draeg, as he knows she is a virgin. Slowly, there romance heats up and the chemistry becomes very hot. Draeg feels guilty that he cannot tell Lori the truth about him being a spy on the family, even if he knows she is innocent. Between Lori’s actions, and Baccat’s comments (in this series, fam’s do talk), Draeg discovers that the family treats Lori as a distant relative, not allowing her any control.

He finally realizes that Lori and Baccat are planning on leaving the estate, and take the horses with them. Lori is tired of being treated so badly, and just wants to give it all up. She plans to secretly escape to a small country estate that her father left her. Draeg tries to convince her that she should never give up the inheritance that rightfully belongs to her. What follows is not only a beautiful romance, some fun with Baccat, as well as Draeg’s new crow fam; and an exciting finish that will find the true culprits within the family, who are part of the attacks, and hurting Lori.

But before he can tell her the truth, Lori discovers that Draeg has been spying and pushes him away in anger, and mistrust. It was nice to see many of the Celta families that we have met from previous stories. Will Lori forgive Draeg or will she leave it all behind?   Will Draeg tell Lori she is his heartmate?

Once again Robin D. Owens gives us another wonderful story of two unlikely people, who find their true love. I am a big fan of this series, and cannot wait for the next one.

But as they work toward building a future together, a sinister threat emerges.

With Zach’s support she uncovers the ghost’s identity, and the ancestral weapon required to slay it. But does Clare dare to use that weapon before the ghost destroys the man she loves—and her own spirit?

Review:

Ghost Killer by Robin D. Owens is the 3rd book in her Ghost Seer series. I really do enjoy this series, as we get to spend time with our heroes, Clare, Zach and Enzo. This series is a modern day paranormal ghost story that is fun, with a different mystery in each book.

A brief refresher on this series: Clare Cermak is our heroine, and she has inherited her aunt’s estate, as well as the ability the see ghosts. It is her job to help the ghosts move on, but before they go, there is usually a mystery for her to solve. Zach Slade is our hero in this series, a former cop, who is now a PI. He is Clare’s boyfriend, and in each book their relationship continues to build. Zach and Clare, as well as her ghost dog, Enzo work together to solve these complicated mysteries.

In Ghost Killer, Clare has become a little more used to being a Ghost Seer, though she is still somewhat uncomfortable. Her relationship with Zach has become hotter and hotter in this book. Enzo has fully become an important part Clare and Zach (he sees Enzo now) lives.

Clare is now forced to take on her third case in such a short time (only weeks have passed between the three books). There is now an evil ghost that she must stop, before the ghost kills a young 7 year old budding ghost seer. Young Caden, sees the evil ghost and cries for help from his physic grandmother, who sends Clare and Zach to help. To make things difficult, Cade’s parents do not believe in ghosts and just think that Caden’s is imagining things.

Since Clare only sees ghosts from a period in the 1800’s, the stories take place in western towns. After much research, they discover the evil ghost is during the time when Bob Ford (Jesse James’s killer) lived in this small town years after the murder. Someone from the period when Ford was killed has become a dangerous ghost filled with rage. It is up to Clare, Zach and Enzo to find out the name of the killer before they can attempt to kill the ghost. I do not want to give spoilers, and too much more will be spoilers. What follows is an exciting mystery that through Clare’s research, we learn more about the final days of Bob Ford, as well as intense action with Clare coming up against the evil ghost a few times. Both Enzo and Caden find themselves in danger, that only Clare, with the help of Zach can save them.

Robin Owens does a wonderful job of continuing the adventures of Clare, Zach and Enzo with a suspenseful, exciting and historical tale of the old west, though in modern times. Plus the added element of Clare and Zach having upped the level of their relationship to sizzling. If you enjoy mysteries, adventure, excitement, fun and a hot couple, you need to read this series.
