ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 25, 2018

When the girl of your dreams is kind of a nightmare.

As head of security to Stage Dive, one of the biggest rock bands in the world, Sam Knowles has plenty of experience dealing with trouble. But spoilt brat Martha Nicholson just might be the worst thing he’s ever encountered. The beautiful troublemaker claims to have reformed, but Sam knows better than to think with what’s in his pants. Unfortunately, it’s not so easy to make his heart fall into line.

Martha’s had her sights on the seriously built bodyguard for years. Quiet and conservative, he’s not even remotely her type. So why the hell can’t she get him out of her mind? There’s more to her than the Louboutin wearing party-girl of previous years, however. Maybe it’s time to let him in on that fact and deal with this thing between them.

•••••••••

REVIEW: STRONG is a contemporary, adult, erotic, romance in Kylie Scott’s rock band series STAGE DIVE, and the latest instalment in the multi-authored 1001 Dark Nights. This is security expert Sam Knowles, and PA Martha Nicholson’s story line. Martha is Ben Nicholson’s sister (Deep #4), and Dave Ferris (Lick #1) former love interest. You do not have to have read the previous instalments but I recommend reading book one LICK for backstory and history between Martha and the band.

Told from first person point of view (Martha) STRONG follows the building relationship between security expert Sam Knowles, and Martha Nicholson. Years earlier, following the fall-out of her personal and professional relationship with Stage Dive’s lead singer and guitarist David Ferris, Martha Nicholson headed to New York in an effort to find herself and forget about the man with whom she was once in love. With a reputation as a b*tch with a little crazy on the side, Martha tried to establish herself with little success. Fast forward to present day wherein Martha is tasked with ‘babysitting’ her brother Ben’s (Stage Dive’s bassist) rambunctious two–year old son Gibson, a task that brings her face to face with the man that has starred in her fantasies and dreams for close to ten years. Enter Stage Dive’s head of security Sam Knowles, and the man with whom Martha will fall in love. What ensues is the friends to lovers relationship between Martha and Sam, a relationship in the making for close to a decade, and the potential fall-out as Martha struggles to accept everything Sam has to offer, including his heart.

Martha Nicholson was David Ferris’ high school sweetheart, and lost everything when David married Evelyn Thomas. Desperate to recapture what was, Martha attempted to come between David and Evelyn but found herself on the outside looking in. Sam Knowles watched from afar as Martha’s life imploded when she interfered in the lives of the band. For ten years Sam waited for Martha to realize there was someone else hoping to capture her heart.

The romance between Martha and Sam has been developing for close to ten years but Martha struggled with demons from the past, including a reputation that had once sought out to destroy the members of the band. Desperate to prove he was worthy of Martha’s love, the wives of the band, set into motion a plan for Sam to seduce our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate.

All of the previous story line couples and members of the band play secondary and supporting characters. Mal is his usual, hyper-manic self as he pushes our heroine’s buttons on more than one occasion- the back and forth banter is priceless; and Gibson Nicholson aka Gibby, as he runs amok repeating all of the ‘forbidden’ words in a two-year old’s vocabulary.

STRONG is a quick read; a revisit with our favorite rock band and their families, as well as the introduction of an up and coming star Adam, whom Martha is about to take under her wing. Here’s hoping for another spin-off focusing on Adam and his rise to the top. The character driven premise is spicy, engaging and spirited; the romance is moving and provocative; the characters are sexy, sassy and sweet. STRONG is a welcome addition and energetic instalment in Kylie Scott’s STAGE DIVE series.

“Ooh, busted,” said Lizzy. “The bodyguard caught you looking.”
“Shut it.” I inched my chin up a bit, trying not to frown because frowning gave you lines. “Sam and I have known each other for years and nothing has ever happened. You’re completely wrong about this.”
“Am I?”
“Yes, there’s nothing between us.”
“So that’s why you were staring at him?”
I chose not to answer that. “And you know he prefers to be called executive protection officer instead of bodyguard.”
At this, Lizzy burst out giggling, a malicious glee in her eyes. No wonder I liked my sister-in-law these days.
Ben shot us both an irritated glance. We both ignored it.
Of course, I’d known Sam would probably be here. Rock stars going out in public could be a delicate thing. People had a tendency to get overexcited. And while one person wanting an autograph wasn’t a problem, twenty or thirty of them suddenly swarming definitely could be. Having once been part of the entourage, I’d seen it happen to Ben and his fellow Stage Dive band members enough times to be wary. And you couldn’t get by with ordinary security. Rock stars needed protection from their over-zealous fans, but on the other hand they didn’t want the fans roughed up or hurt in any way. It required a delicate balance: control, experience, and a whole gamut of scary physical skills. Hence Sam.
Still, Portland seemed generally less crazy than the good old days back in LA. All of the guys seemed calmer and more settled away from the constant craziness of the party scene. Not to mention the effect of all of the wives/partners and various offspring. The biggest rock band in the world had officially been domesticated.
It was kind of cute. Or sad. I don’t know.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to stir you,” she lied. “What do you think of your brother’s new musical bromance?”
On the small stage set up in the corner of the room, a young man wailed his heart out while playing an acoustic guitar. Much angst about a girl who only called him after midnight. Trust a rockster to turn a simple booty call into a heartbreaking ballad. The song was damn good though. He had talent. If only I hadn’t had my fill of the type when I was younger. The kid looked to be in his early to mid-twenties. Lanky with lots of tattoos. Your typical rock ’n roll Prince Charming. Gag. These days my type ran more toward…actually, what I needed or wanted in a male was a total mystery.
And my gaze did not stray back to Sam. That did not happen.

Kylie is a long time fan of erotic love stories and B-grade horror films. She demands a happy ending and if blood and carnage occur along the way then all the better. Based in Queensland, Australia with her two children and one delightful husband, she reads, writes and never dithers around on the internet

••••••••••

REVIEW:   FINDING FOREVER is the seventh full-length instalment in Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott’s contemporary adult FOUND IN OBLIVION rock star, romance series focusing on the rock band Warning Sign. FINDING FOREVER follows two couples we have met previously (Mal Shawcross and Ricki aka Elle Crandall in Raw Rhythm / Jules Reece and Tristan Eves in Triple Trouble) as they struggle to move past the ‘accident’ that is slowly pulling apart the band, and took the life of someone they loved. FINDING FOREVER should not be read as a stand alone as there is a continuing premise that addresses the fragile relationships between the members of the band. The FOUND IN OBLIVION series is a spin off from Quinn and Elliott’s LOST IN OBLIVION series. Several characters from LIO cross over for cohesion and continuity, as well as a quick peak into the authors’ upcoming series spin-off MADE IN OBLIVION focusing on the rock band Brooklyn Dawn.

Told from four third-person perspectives including Ricki, Mal, Jules and Tristan, FINDING FOREVER focuses on grief, forgiveness, healing and love. The once tight-knit members of Warning Sign are about to face their greatest fears as they step onto the stage for the first time in six months following the accident that all but destroyed the band and their lives. While Jules and Tristan struggle to move forward, Mal is consumed with the knowledge that he had to make a choice and not everyone is happy with the choices he made. Hoping to find his own happily ever after Mal is desperate to prove he is worthy of Elle Crandall’s love.

Juliet Reece battles the all-consuming grief of death and loss but her inability to let go is destroying her relationship with Tristan Eves, the man who is willing to sacrifice everything to keep his small family together-forever.

The friendships and relationships between the members of the band are nearing the breaking point as Jules is unable to forgive and forget, and Mal’s mood swings continue to push everyone beyond their limits. The potential to co-headline an upcoming tour forces Jules and Tristan, as well as Mal and Ricki to take a deeper look into their partnerships, to ensure everyone gets their happily ever after.

There are numerous colorful secondary and supporting characters including all of the members of the rock band Warning Sign and their significant others-Michael, Chloe, West and Lo, Ethan, Luc and Molly; Hammered’s lead singer Hunter Jordan, and his brother, security specialist Noah; Brooklyn Dawn’s Lindsey York, Jamie DuCaine and record producer Alex Nash; and several members of the band Oblivion including Simon and Margo, Nick and Lila, as well as Ricki’s best friend Teagan Daly, who is about to join Brooklyn Dawn. Lindsey and Alex’s story is next in Play Dirty, the first instalment in the authors’ new Made in Oblivion series.

FINDING FOREVER is a story of family, friendships, strength and bond. The detailed and revealing premise is realistic and energetic; the characters are tenacious, sassy, spirited and flawed. FINDING FOREVER is an inviting, passionate and emotionally satisfying story –here’s hoping for continuing updates throughout the new series.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 25, 2017

The past she can’t remember. The secret he hides. And a love that’s worth risking it all.

After a devastating car crash stole both her family and her memory, Grace Stanton was left with no past and an uncertain future. Now Grace likes to keep things simple. No sleepovers, never date a guy more than a month, and never, ever fall in love. Which is exactly why Grace avoids Bad Habit’s lead guitarist, Brody Scott, at all costs. The green-eyed, sexy-as-hell musician has “trouble” tattooed all over him, and Grace isn’t taking any chances with her heart.

Brody knows he doesn’t deserve an amazing woman like Grace—her creamy skin, red hair, or that smart mouth that fuels his every fantasy—but there’s something between them that’s more than chemistry. Something real. He’ll just have to convince Grace that he’s worth the risk—and hide the secret that haunts his worst dreams. But when fate plays a cruel hand, Brody’s darkest sin suddenly threatens his last chance at redemption…and the life of the woman he loves.

•••••••••

REVIEW: SIN WITH ME is the third installment in J.T.Geissinger’s contemporary adult BAD HABIT erotic, romance series focusing in the member of the rock band Bad Habit. This is lead guitarist Brody Scott, and psychologist Grace Stanton’s story line. SIN WITH ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory, history and cohesion as many events in the current time line build upon events of the previous books.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Grace and Brody) SIN WITH ME is an intense story of heartbreak, secrets, healing and moving forward. Years earlier, at the age of eighteen, Grace Stanton’s world exploded. A hit and run driver killed her parents, leaving our heroine with no memory of the past including her name, her parents and the events leading up to the crash. Fast forward to present day and Grace Stanton, a couple’s counselor, is a woman afraid to commit beyond the present. Enter lead guitarist for the rock band Bad Habit Brody Scott, and the man who will steal Grace’s heart, and destroy all semblance of peace and hope for out story line heroine.

SIN WITH ME follows the building relationship between Grace Stanton, and Brody Scott. Brody’s attraction to Grace is hindered by Grace’s inability to commit fearing the possibility compounded memory loss that includes the loss of everything she worked hard to attain. Brody sets out to seduce our story line heroine, coming to the rescue when Grace loses everything in her life. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive. The back and forth banter between our leading couple is humorous and entertaining.

The secondary and supporting characters include Kat and Nico (Sweet as Sin #1), and Chloe and AJ (Make Me Sin #2), Kenji the ‘flamboyant’ friends, as well as security specialist Barney, keyboardist Ethan and bassist Chris. Barney is leaving the band to pursue a career with a high-level security outfit known as Metrix, and I am going to surmise a spin-off series in the future.

The world building looks at the growing family, friendship and relationships between the members of Bad Habit. There is a twist to the story line that I saw coming, early on although it did not affect my enjoyment of the story.

SIN WITH ME is an emotional, erotic, palpable, intense and fated story. Grace’s past comes full circle while Brody’s dark secrets will destroy any hope for a happily ever after. The premise is startling, powerful and dramatic; the romance is provocative and emotional; the characters are animated, colorful and tragic. SIN WITH ME is a moving, wondrous, and riveting story line.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 7 2016

He kept it casual

Superstar guitarist Ramsey’s reputation as a bad-boy rocker is exceeded only by his dedication to his music. He’s worked hard for the success of his hit metal band Toxsin, and he intends to enjoy it-completely. When a jilted groupie gets back at him for a one-night stand with an intimate-and completely inappropriate-tattoo, he needs it fixed, and fast. Sparks fly between Ramsey and his new tattoo artist, and Ramsey finds himself hoping for more than new ink.

Until she made him want more

When a high-profile tattoo job lands Jewel an invite on Toxsin’s latest tour, she can’t say no. It’ll be great exposure, after all. What she’s really worried about is ruining the gig by hooking up with the first guy to completely rock her world. She knows she should resist-Ramsey’s not the kind to stick around for a morning after. But the way he makes her feel-as an artist and a woman-could be worth any risk.

••••••••••••

REVIEW: ROCK STEADY is the second installment in Dawn Ryder’s contemporary, adult ROCK BAND erotic, romance series focusing on the members of the rock band Toxsin. This is guitarist Matthew James ‘Ramsey’, and tattoo artist Joan ‘Jewel’ Ryan’s story line. ROCK STEADY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Ramsey and Jewel) ROCK STEADY follows the band on tour but more importantly Ramsey’s need for ‘his’ personal tattoo artist on the road. Following a one -night stand wherein Ramsey does not remember getting an inappropriate tattoo, our hero finds himself in desperate need of a cover up before the band heads back on tour. Enter Jewel Ryan, a graphic artist and tattooist whose ink will turn heads, and get her more notice than she could possibly bargain for. What ensues is the building relationship between Ramsey and Jewel, and Ramsey’s denial about his feelings for the woman who calls to his heart.

Ramsey is a bit of a man-whore; a bad boy; a player with the ladies, and in this he continues to dally on the side while trying to woo Jewel into his bed and his life-not really a commitment kind of guy, he is constantly having to apologize for wandering outside of his non-relationship with his travelling tattoo artist. Jewel, on the other hand, is an innocent when it comes to men and $ex, and she is all too willing to forgive and forget every time Ramsey strays. Our heroine is an independent woman who finds herself in a position for which she is totally unprepared. The $ex scenes are intimate, intense and erotic. Ramsey is a rock musician whose need for $ex is only curtailed by the woman by his side but he has a difficult time remaining true. NOTE: There is no sexual activity outside of the relationship but Ramsey is a little too free with the ladies.

ROCK STEADY has a large ensemble cast of characters including all of the members of the band, and their entourage as well as groupies, wanna-bes, and previous one-night stands who try to make life a living hell for Ramsey and Jewel. Toxsin’s body guard Taz’s story is next to be told.

Although some of the premise is not quite believable (the band’s need for a personal tattoo artist on the road), I did enjoy the camaraderie between the members of the band and their crew. The premise is entertaining and enjoyable; the characters are charismatic and animated; the romance is a struggle but ends with a happily ever after.

Summer-

That word brings a ripple of anticipation to everyone who has been longing for warm weather, sandals, beaches, carnivals, and so much more. Rock Steady is the perfect summer time read. It’s hot, it’s edgy, it’s got bad boys-hey, what would summer nights be without a little misbehavior? And the one thing I really wanted Rock Steady to have was a lack of people shooting at people.

Don’t get me wrong, I love to write a hard suspense plot but sometimes, you want to read a good, hot, romance without all the life and death struggle. All the edge, all the heat, but with a focus on the personal issues that come with having to make a relationship work beyond the physical attraction.

Rock Steady will take you back onto the road with Toxsin. Now for anyone who thinks Rock Stars have it all easy, take a look at Rock Steady and you’ll get a little taste of the dedication it takes to be a mega super star. Personally, I have a deep respect for those who can apply their talent to the concert stage. It’s a hard job, one that requires team work to accomplish a show that is mind blowing for the ticket holders. A fabulous voice isn’t the only requirement.

For those who picked up Rock Me Two Times, you going to get the chance to see Ramsey, god that he is, meet his match. It was a blast to write this book and I’m eager to present it to all of you.

Cheers!

Dawn Ryder

excerpt

“Pissed off your girlfriend?” she asked pointedly. “She wasn’t really a girlfriend.” Jewel clicked her tongue and looked back at the cheery blossoms. “By the look of that, she disagreed with you on the topic. She must have taken you to Spike Collar.” Taz was typing into his cell phone as she spoke. “Makes sense. You surfaced right around where that tattoo parlor is on the map.” “Just don’t go back there,” Jewel warned as she went behind the counter and pulled a blank sheet of paper in front of her. “Why not?” the blond asked. “I’ve got half a mind to have my lawyer pay them a visit.” Jewel didn’t look up from what she was drawing. “Won’t do you any good. They never touch a client without a release of liability signed and sealed, with video footage to back it up. Whoever was gunning for you did her homework. The gals at Spike Collar don’t like guys, and they really don’t like any males who try to charm them.” Jewel cast a look at Ramsey. “You are exactly the sort they hate. Bet they popped a bottle of champagne the second you cleared the doorway with that little gem.” Taz made a low sound under his breath. But Ramsey was watching her. She felt his attention tightening, focusing on the motion of her pen as she inked a design on the paper. He’d sent a shiver down her spine before, but now he was warming her insides, melting her core slowly with the absolute devotion he was giving her. She looked up, locking gazes with him. Her insides churned. And her toes curled. She’d never felt so connected to another soul. It was his doing, and she realized that his arrogance was something he’d earned. That fact slapped her across the face and sent her into a full meltdown. He was the sort who could captivate. Which was a damned dangerous place to go. It wasn’t like she had any personal experience with it. Still, she felt like she was on pins and needles. The sheer level of sensitivity the guy was able to elicit from her was off the scale. It was fascinating to say the least. As well as a really bad place to go when he looked like he could afford to hire her. She looked back at her work, forcing herself to focus on the art and get a grip on herself before he knocked her flat. Sweat popped out on her forehead, but her hands responded perfectly. Art was like a living force inside her. A place she could take refuge in as well as being a gift she might share. She let it consume her, the drawing coming to life beneath the strokes of her pen. It was a little like giving birth: first she had to let it grow and form before it was ready to breathe. “That is smokin’ hot,” Taz said as he leaned on the counter to peer at her work. “You’re good,” the blond said in a tone full of awe. Ramsey reserved judgment until she’d shaded in the last few areas on her sketch. When she lifted her pen, he swept it up and studied the drawing. It was a metal dragon crawling down his abdomen toward his cock. Its front claws would be where the cherry blossoms were, and its tail would wrap around his lean hip and onto his lower back. It wasn’t a reptilian dragon. It was a steel one, a merging of metal and mythical creature. His eyes narrowed as he studied it, seeing more than just the black lines. He was seeing the attitude she’d tried to capture and portray. His expression gave her a hint of the man inside him. She got the impression he spent a lot of time covering up that man with his didn’t-give-a-rat’s-ass attitude. But she saw it. His attention shifted to her, their gazes locking over the edge of the paper. For a moment, she caught a flicker of understanding in his eyes. Just a moment of awareness, a few seconds when he admitted to himself that she saw him. Really saw him. It didn’t last long. In fact, she found herself questioning if it had really been there, when his gaze hardened and sealed her out of that place he was determined to keep private. “You recognize me,” he said. It wasn’t a question, but she felt inclined to answer anyway. “It isn’t hard to peg you for a metal-head when you’re wearing nothing but leather and have a stud bar through your nipple.” “I’m a metal god,” he said. “Right,” she countered, feeling a rise of heat in her cheeks. “I’m good at what I do.” “You are,” the blond interrupted. He was studying her portfolio. “So why are you working the graveyard shift?” “I wanted to work at the best shop in town. That left me to choose between Spike Collar and here,” Jewel said without hesitation. “But you’re not a lesbian,” Ramsey finished for her. “Bet that was a bit of a problem with getting hired over at Spike Collar.” “Definite ripple in the pond,” she confirmed. “Not on my side, mind you. They just don’t like straight girls. Shame really, they know how to do tats.” “So do you.” Ramsey was thumbing through the pictures of her work. He had that businessman expression. “Who are you?” she gave in and asked. All three men looked up at her. “I mean, since it sounded like you were trying to impress me.” “Impressing you will involve more than my name,” her client said. His lips curved, and his expression became sensual. He flattened his hand on the counter between them and leaned toward her. In one flat second, it felt like her breath caught in her lungs. She was hyperaware of him, fighting not to take a step back. There was a flicker of approval in his dark eyes as she managed to stand her ground. “Count on that fact.” Her voice had turned raspy, but his arrogance was rubbing her pride raw. “I do tats. Only tat’s for pay. So if you’ve got a problem understanding boundaries, the door is behind you. There’s another place up a couple of blocks that opens in a few hours.” Taz reached over and shoved Ramsey. “I told you not to piss her off.” He shook his smart phone in the air between them. “She’s the best in the nearest three cities-checked her out.” He turned to look at her. “Your references rock. Why are you working in this dump?” “Because my boss might be a prick, but he’s also got twenty-five years’ experience, and references to top mine. I want to learn from the best, and there are a few things you can’t learn from anyone but a master.” Taz nodded. “True, even if some masters are egomaniacs.” “You didn’t answer me.” Jewel aimed her inquiry at Ramsey. “Who are you?” “Ramsey, Taz, and I’m Syon,” the blond answered. “We’re members of a band called Toxsin.” She bit back the snide, Yeah, right, that tried to escape her lips. No way. But they were all standing there looking pretty confident. She reached over and tapped “Toxsin” into the laptop on the countertop. Their website was the first thing to come up. She clicked on the link. “What the fuck are you doing roaming the streets?” She looked between the screen and the three guys standing in front of her. It was weird, to say the least, to have the pictures from the screen living and breathing in her shop. “Don’t you have people to deal with stuff like this?” Ramsey eyed her from where he was lying on the counter. “I’m a hands-on sort.” He covered her hand with his, stroking the back of it. Jewel ended up taking that step back. Victory flashed through his eyes as she sent him a sharp look. Taz punched him in the shoulder again. “How’s that ‘hands-on’ thing working for you tonight?” Jewel said. It was a barbed comment, a challenge. Hell, it felt like she’d smacked him across the jaw with a white glove and dropped it at his feet. The way his eyes narrowed confirmed he felt the same way. For one split second, she half feared he might just flip the counter out of the way or jump over it. “Let’s focus on the problem,” Syon said. “We need this fixed-discreetly, quickly.” “No joke.” Jewel happily changed thought tracks. She pulled one of the shop disclosure agreements up onto the counter. The tightly packed lines of legal mumbo jumbo didn’t give her the same sense of comfort they normally did. Ramsey grabbed it and yanked the top off a pen before boldly scrawling his signature across the bottom line. Taz was flipping the lock on the front door. “Good idea,” Jewel agreed. She didn’t care for the fact that she had to take a breath before getting her feet to move. Ramsey flopped down on her worktable, popping his pants open. They were custom, all right, the right side of them shaped perfectly to contain his cock. The guy had an impressive package. She ended up stopping halfway around the counter, earning a smirk from him. “Don’t let my fame make you nervous,” Ramsey teased her. “Typically, I worry about my clients taking their displeasure out on my hide.” She made it to her stool and sat down. Her workstation was normally the place she felt most comfortable. Today, she felt like the padded stool was full of spikes. “So what’s your problem with me?” Ramsey asked. She wasn’t going to answer that. Nope. Not a chance. She turned half away from him and sterilized her hands. “Cat got your tongue?” he asked. Jewel turned back toward him and swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat. What a man animal. She really needed to get a grip and enjoy the moment. She was pretty sure she was never going to get the chance to work on so fine a specimen again. “I’m thinking you wouldn’t think twice about filing a lawsuit against me, signature on a release form or not,” she said. His expression turned serious , his eyes narrowing, his lips thinning. “I don’t get my kicks out of using my money to pin my mistakes on other people. I own my fuckups.” It wasn’t what she’d expected him to say. But she liked it. A whole lot. Integrity was something most people sold out on. Especially when it came to admitting they’d made dumb mistakes. “I’m beginning to see why the gals at Spike didn’t refuse to do your girlfriend’s dirty work.” Ramsey leaned his head back. “She wasn’t my girlfriend.” “I’m guessing that was the problem.” He’d closed his eyes but opened them and looked at her. “Guess it was. But I didn’t lie to her.” He really did own his screw-ups. It was there in the flat acceptance on his face. He looked past her to his bandmates. “I’m good. You guys can shove off.” “Not a chance.” Syon settled himself on the other worktable. “Those little pink flowers will take us all down.” “Yeah.” Taz sat down behind the counter and claimed her laptop. “Besides, I don’t trust you to be polite. Jewel is a lady.” Ramsey made a low sound under his breath. “I bet she gets naughty with the right company.” Jewel didn’t look up from where she was cleaning the skin on his abdomen. She was no stranger to personal jabs, especially off-color ones. What surprised her was the way her pulse leapt. She needed to get a grip. “That’s what I’m talking about,” Taz said. “She’s an artist, like Kate.” “Yeah,” Ramsey agreed. “Sorry, I’m still a little buzzed. Talking out of my ass.” Jewel warmed under the single word of praise. She got the impression Ramsey didn’t hand out undeserving compliments. She ended up looking into his eyes because he was watching her. “Kate made my pants.” He gestured at his buddies. “She makes all our leather gear.” “She’s good.” Jewel picked up her sketch and began to position it. “I see my share of leather around here. The good, the bad, and mostly the ugly.” “She’s the best,” Syon added without opening his eyes. “Even has good taste in men.” Ramsey snorted. Syon offered him a single-finger salute. “Aren’t you guys cute,” Jewel muttered. “There’s nothing cute about the part of me you’re looking at.” She should ignore him. Should, but she wasn’t going to. Jewel looked up and caught Ramsey grinning at her. “Did you want this done sometime before Christmas?” “You wouldn’t let me go on stage wearing flowers…would you, Jewel?” He tried out his puppy eyes on her. “The idea is growing on me.” He made a soft humming sound beneath his breath. “I like a girl who plays rough.” “I bet you do.” Which was just enough of a reality slap to get her focused. He was an animal, the prowling kind. And she was already living on the edge enough. She got the drawing in position and transferred it onto his skin. Canvas. Normally the word helped her tune out everything but the art. Yeah, well there wasn’t much of anything that was normal about Ramsey.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 3, 2015

He’s shattered…and she’s the only woman who can help him pick up the pieces.

Nick Crandall has everything he ever thought he wanted. Tons of money, a glamorous lifestyle, professional admiration for making music. But all his success doesn’t erase the memories of who and what he’s lost on the road to fame and fortune. Nor does it stop his dream from shattering, right before his eyes.

Until the person he least expects pulls him back from the brink.

Lila Shawcross is obsessed with her work, which includes managing the drama-prone members of Oblivion. She’s definitely not about to let a hot-headed, hard-bodied lead guitarist wreck her orderly existence or dilute her focus. So what if she’s never craved a man quite this much? There are just too many complications, including the gold band on her left hand.

Except Nick is determined to possess her…and what Nick wants, Nick gets. Because this time, he’s not walking away.

REVIEW: SHATTERED is the fourth full-length installment in the contemporary, adult LOST IN OBLIVION erotic romance series co-authored by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott focusing on the members of the rock band Oblivion. This is guitarist Nick Crandall, and band manager Lila Shawcross’s storyline. SHATTERED can be read as a stand alone but for cohesion and backstory, as well as Nick and Lila’s history, I recommend reading the series in order as all of the previous couples play a secondary and supporting role.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Nick and Lila) SHATTERED follows the forbidden relationship between Oblivion’s guitarist Nick Crandall, and their manager Lila Shawcross-Lila is married, and although she is for all intents and purposes separated from the man in question, there are reasons that her affair with Nick can never be made public. Lila’s ice-cold exterior hides a sensitive and damaged soul.

For months Lila and Nick have butted heads due in part to Nick’s attitude, and Lila’s ‘Dragon Lady’ managerial skills as it pertains to the band’s public relations and personal lives. But Nick’s reputation as a man-whore; a sexually aggressive rocker has played havoc with Lila’s thoughts and ideas about Nick. As their relationship begins to develop, Nick and Lila’s feelings and emotions for one another grow deeper but Lila’s broken marriage and Nick’s past keep rearing their ugly heads. Meanwhile, Nick’s family life continues to implode as he finds himself falling for the same old scams and heartbreaking betrayal brought about by his father and sister back home. We get up close with Nick as the demons from his past continue to control his present.

The relationship between Lila and Nick has been building for several story lines. Nick and Lila’s rapport with one another has been acrimonious and antagonistic. Lila blames Nick for a number of the band’s problems, and Nick sees Lila as a controlling shrew. The $ex scenes are erotic, sensual and provocative.

All of the previous story line couples play a secondary and supporting role as we get reacquainted with Deacon and Harper, Gray and Jazz, Simon and Margo.

SHATTERED is an erotic tale; the introduction to Nick and Lila’s forbidden romance that finds two people lost in a world of broken promises and broken hearts, misunderstandings, and betrayal. The premise is engaging, captivating and inspiring; the characters are colorful, dynamic and animated; the romance is provocative and intense. SHATTERED ends on a cliffhanger-there is more Lila and Nick to come.

•••••••••

REVIEW: GIFTED is a short Christmas story from Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott that focuses on Nick and Lila’s tumultuous relationship during the Christmas holidays. The timeline falls between SHATTERED November 2015) and FUSED (February 2016).

It is Christmas time. The members of Oblivion have gathered for a family celebration, and Nick has yet to buy gifts so he embarks on a Christmas Eve shopping spree with Jazz, in the hopes of finding the perfect gift for Lila Shawcross-the band’s manager- and the other members of the band. Told from dual close third person perspectives (Lila and Nick) GIFTED is a sweet story line that follows Nick and Lila several days after the events and cliff hanger ending of SHATTERED wherein Nick is unaware of the events that transpired to push Lila in another direction. Nick’s gift to Lila will play an intricate role in tying Lila to his heart-a string of pearls that is representative of their relationship.

All the members of the band Oblivion play secondary and supporting roles; there is a new introduction to the Oblivion family; and Lila leaves Nick to believe in a future with the woman that he loves. The $ex scenes are erotic and inventive.

GIFTED is a sweet story about the joy and magic of Christmas; a glimpse into the dynamics of the band; the family of your heart; and friendships that will last a lifetime

REVIEW

4 out of 5 for this reader folks!

HOLY HOT READ! This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I have to say I will be back for more.

Rock Me Two Times is the first book of Dawn Ryder’s Rock Band series. Set up so you know there is more coming with all the band characters, she manages to suck the reader in with the level of heat and wit that I personally enjoy in a contemporary erotica read.

Kate in our leading lady and a much coveted leather designer of the fashion world. Each piece she creates has her heart and soul imprinted and her professionalism is something she takes pride in! She has her own personal rules as well .. NO ROCK BANDS! When a rock band emergency calls for her services, her boss (love love love this character) Percy, does all he can to convince Kate it’s just this once.

Syon is the lead member of the band Toxsin, and most definitely one who enjoys the perks of being a rock star. When sexy Kate shows up to fix his “emergency”, he is completely drawn to her and knows he must have her. Soon Kate is convinced to travel on their tour with them and a full on yummy adventure starts with Kate and Syon.

Both are completely blown away by the attraction they hold for the other and just how connected they feel. When the band manager realizes that Kate’s presence can hinder the bands image, things start to get sticky and a real test of this relationship is faced. The thing is, Kate has now been accepted as a part of this group, but she is unsure if she can live the way a rocker needs to live. Is this just a fantasy or can Syon and Kate really take this farther down the road?

I really enjoyed this book. I was captivated and interested in the characters, teased and invested. My only complaint is that there was too much squeezed in that didn’t need to be. The band use to be soldiers, and their were elements of dominance, they are a rich, and now they are rock stars. In this genre, an author normally goes down one of these avenues so I felt it was a little far fetched for ALL of this to appear. That being said, it didn’t take away from ANY of the enjoyment of the actual story, it just kind of bugged me a little.

If you LOVE a steamy read with some hot rockers then this is a book for you! I am looking forward to the second book of this series and will continue to follow!

HAPPY READING! 🙂

excerpt

The Staples Center was roaring.
It sounded like a tsunami coming in, or a freight train passing three feet in front of her face. It was more than sound; there was a vibration that traveled through her body, all the way down to her bones. There
was a current in the air that practically crackled with excitement.
The bodyguard-slash-security guy showed Kate up to a private box. She followed because she didn’t want to squeal like a little girl and ask to be taken home.
She’d never lost her head like this before.
It was embarrassing on an epic scale. She was pissed at herself for rolling over so easily for a man who wouldn’t recall her name by the end of the night.
The box had plush seats and an open rail overlooking the stage. The lights went down, and the drummer started up. The beat was infectious, taking over her heart until she was sure the muscle was keeping the same
rhythm.
The crowd roared again, thrusting their hands up into the air as two guitars joined the drummer. Her nipples puckered again, her memory offering up an image of Syon arching back as he played those final chords.
It was like he was pushing the music out of himself, almost as if he were giving birth.
On stage, he was just as raw.
Syon took command of the space completely. The audience ate him up.
And were they screaming. Syon worked them just as skillfully as he did his guitar. He really was lord of all he surveyed. Kate discovered herself leaning forward, being drawn toward the spellbinding energy
pulsing on the stage. Sitting still was impossible; her body wanted to move in time with the notes Syon was wringing out of his instrument. She became fixated on his hands; the way he worked his fingers was downright dominant.
Her teeth were clenched by the time the last song finished, she was panting softly and felt wrung out.
But it was fucking wonderful. She was drifting on a high and collapsed back into her padded chair, her composure scattered around her like fall leaves. She felt spent but amped up at the same time.
Fangirls were definitely climbing the respect ladder in her book.
Okay, so she was drooling over a rock star like some high schooler, but at least B.O.B.—her battery-operated boyfriend —was waiting for her at home. All in all, the buzz was worth the slightly stinging blow to
her pride, because in some corner of her mind, she believed she should be grown-up enough to realize fantasies weren’t mature. So disappointment wouldn’t stalk her in the wee hours of the night.
A hollow feeling in her gut warned her she was hoping in vain.
As Syon and the rest of the band left the stage, Kate indulged herself in a long moment of reflection. Syon had worked that guitar until it wailed. He had to be hell in bed if he applied even half that effort
to pleasing his partner.
“So, what’d you think?”
She jumped, grabbing the armrests of the movie theater-style chair. Her eyes popped open wide, and her belly did a triple flip when she found Syon watching her.
“Ah…” Her tongue suddenly felt like a wad of cotton in her mouth as she scrambled to stand up and turn around to face him. “It was fantastic…”
He grinned at her, a huge, arrogantly pleased expression that showed off his perfect teeth.
God, she wondered if he knew how to bite…

Sexiest Rock Stars (And What Makes Them So Hot!) with Dawn Ryder

Rock Stars…some are just lick-able….

Let’s face it, there is something about a man in leather, who can bring a stadium to its feet. I know there are all sorts of different music out there but heavy metal in all its formats has a certain, gut-wrenching appeal that just gets girls wanting to squeal. So here’s one of my favorites:

Tim McGraw – Fine, he isn’t a heavy metal musician, but he is absolutely lick-able. There are a lot of reasons that I find this man fascinating, one of which is his music writing range. Everything from songs about ‘being a bad boy but a real good man’ to something soul wrenching like ‘Live like you were dying.’ The music moves something inside me and that was exactly what I wanted to come across in this book, Rock Me Two Times. I wanted to take readers to the person behind the fame, the one that struggles with self-esteem like every one of their fans and also has to contend with the fact that because they are at the top, they know everyone is going to judge what they come out with next. Sure, I wanted Syon to be a strong hero type, but I also wanted the reader to see that he had a need for a soul mate too.

There are so many types of passion, and music is one that the world stops and listens to. If I’m lucky, someday, one of my books will captivate a reader just as completely as some of the great songs out there that everyone knows.
