ABOUT THE BOOK:

Madden Cole is considered a rock ‘n’ roll god, and all the women want him. Except for me.

After working my butt off as a journalist for years, I’ve heard the rumors about him and his band and have read all about their dirty scandals in the headlines.

When I land a job as a writer for Limelight magazine, I’ll stop at nothing to make a good impression. Even if it means agreeing to a sit-down interview with the bad boys of A Rebels Havoc.

They’re making a name for themselves by soaring to the top of the charts with multiplatinum records and sold-out tours.

Madden is cold and closed-off, but the more I get to know him, the more he starts to open up to me. As hard as I’ve tried to resist wanting him, when he turns on his sweet-talking charm, all the walls I’ve built around me crumble.

They say what goes up must come down, and the band is forced to face the downside of fame. Rumors, lies, and blackmail threaten Madden’s life and the career he and the guys have worked so hard to build.

He doesn’t know about the secret I’ve been keeping.

And I fear when he finds out the truth, it could destroy everything.

REVIEW:MADDEN is the fourth instalment in Brooke O’Brien’s contemporary, adult A REBEL’S HAVOC erotic, rock romance series focusing on the members of the rock band A Rebel’s Havoc. This is drummer Madden Cole, and journalist Brielle Silver-Granite. MADDEN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Madden and Brielle) MADDEN focuses on the building romance and relationship between drummer Madden Cole, and journalist Brielle Silver-Granite. Brielle Silver’s assignment is to report the story about A Rebel’s Havoc beginning-their rise to stardom, and how they met but things don’t go according to plan when Brielle walks in on an intimate moment between Madden and a fan, a moment that threatens her access to the members of the band. Knowing he screwed up Madden invites Brielle to spend some time with the band never expecting to fall for our story line heroine but Madden’s past is about to lay claim to our story line hero, a claim that threatens the life of the woman with whom he is falling in love. A perceived betrayal will push Brielle out of Madden’s life, and in the interim the truth will reveal Brielle the only woman Madden needs or wants, going forward. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Brielle and Madden, and the fall-out when Madden’s past demands vengeance, and Brielle’s lies of omission push Madden out of her life.

The relationship between Madden and Brielle begins as an assignment that quickly turns into something more but Madden and the band have been burned in the past, and Madden struggles to trust. Brielle has a few secrets of her own that reveal she hasn’t been completely truthful about her identity or her past. Madden is quickly falling for our story line heroine but betrayal comes with a cost, a cost to the heart and the soul. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive.

The secondary and supporting characters include all of the previous story lines couples and members of the band: Layken Grant and Trey Whitt, Brix Ward and Ivy Thomas, Tysin Briggs and Kyla Cole, as well as Brielle’s father, and Madden’s ex Hanna.

MADDEN is a story of betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, family and friendships, second chances and love. The fast paced premise is dramatic, captivating and heart breaking; the romance is provocative and steamy; the characters are energetic and determined.

REVIEW:LET ME LOVE YOU is the fifth and final instalment in Scarlett Cole’s contemporary, adult EXCESS ALL AREAS erotic, rock romance series focusing on the members of the rock band SAD FRIDAYS. This is Dr. Chaya Tobias, and rock musician/mechanic Benjamin ‘Ben’ King’s story. Line. LET ME LOVE YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Chaya and Ben) with a final chapter from Nan, LET ME LOVE YOU follows the second chance romance and relationship between best friends Dr. Chaya Tobias, and rock musician/mechanic Ben King. Approximately fifteen years earlier, a then sixteen year old Ben King rescued an eleven year old Chaya Tobias from a sexual predator, and in the years that followed Ben and Chaya’s relationship went from friendship to love but as Ben and Chaya’s lives went in different directions, so too did Chaya’s family’s demands for our story line heroine. Chaya Tobias was as an Orthodox Jew, and her family expected their daughter to remain faithful to her beliefs and marry another Orthodox Jew. As Ben King was more or less a non-believer in organized religion, Ben was not seen as an acceptable mate, and Chaya’s family pushed our heroine in another direction. A quick engagement, and an even quicker date for Chaya’s wedding sent our hero into a downward spiral wherein Ben would have to recover with his family at home but a family emergency pulls Chaya back into Benjamin’s life, a life that continues to struggle without the woman he loves. What ensues is the rebuilding friendship, and romance between Chaya and Ben, and the potential fall-out as the ramifications of Chaya and Ben’s relationship begin to take its’ toll on our story line couple.

Ben King has been in love with Chaya Tobias for as long as he can remember but Ben did not follow the Jewish faith, and he would never be accepted by Chaya’s family. A case of religious discrimination, Ben found himself watching from the sidelines as the woman he loved became engaged to another man. Chaya was doing herself and her fiancé a disservice, knowing she would forever, be in love with someone else. With the band on a one month tour in America, the time apart made Chaya reflect on what was and what may never be.

The relationship between Chaya and Ben is a friends to lovers wherein Chaya’s family tried to control our story line heroine but Ben would point out the reality of their situation, a reality that forces the Tobias family to look long and hard at their own preconceived notions. Chaya has never stopped loving our story line hero but marrying someone else meant not be true to herself. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

All of the previous story line couples play secondary and supporting characters. We are reintroduced to Nan aka Rhoda Palmer, as well as Chaya’s parents Issur and Anna.

LET ME LOVE YOU is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; religion and ethnicity, preconceived notions, acceptance and love. The premise is emotional and heart breaking; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are struggling, charismatic, and determined.

My new neighbor arrived at midnight on a Thursday. First came the moving truck, followed by a Jeep Wrangler. Mrs. Cooper, the former owner of the house, passed a while back. A damn shame. The woman was not only nice, but she made biscuits like you wouldn’t believe. For years the grand old Victorian house sat empty at the end of the cul-de-sac. Not unusual for a small town. Few people wanted to move to the middle of nowhere in Northern California, no matter how picturesque it might be. While the place had been sold not long after listing, there’d been no sighting of the new owner until now.
“What the heck?” I mumbled to myself, standing at the window.
Who moved in the middle of the night? It seemed covert and suspicious. Like something a criminal or government agent would do. Although, maybe they just traveled far and this happened to be the time they arrived. But most people would stay at a hotel and wait for daylight to do this sort of thing. Surely.
The only things ever happening at midnight in Wildwood were: 1. Harry, the town drunk, performing Bob Dylan classics in the middle of Main Street. 2. Me, an insomniac, wandering aimlessly around my house. That was it. Everyone else in the whole wide world—or our corner of it—was fast asleep.
Half hidden behind a curtain, I watched the truck being unloaded. A full moon shone down through the pine trees as the moving men hauled stuff inside. The first guy, the one who drove the Jeep, went straight into the house. He was tall and wore a ball cap. That was about all I could see. Maybe he was setting the place up for his wife and family. Maybe he had a boyfriend. He couldn’t possibly be single, heterosexual, under sixty, and emotionally mature. My luck just wasn’t that good. Not that I intended to date again in this lifetime.
Whoever he was and whatever he was doing, it would all be known in due course. Such was the joy of small-town life.
Once the furniture was moved inside, things got a little dull. There’s not much you can tell about a person from their boxes.
I took the opportunity to once again check the locks on all my windows and doors. After that, I made a cup of chamomile tea. Neither of these things helped me sleep, but the rituals were soothing. Mom always said I had a busy mind. I didn’t necessarily think about anything useful, I just thought a lot. At night, I tended to think about books, bad memories, and ex-boyfriends. The last two were often one and the same.
As a child, I was the daydreamer who got busted humming in class when everyone else was concentrating. (Like anybody actually needed algebra. If you can work out the discount at a sale, you’re good to go. Then again, this attitude might explain why my life had gone approximately nowhere.)
I returned to the window just in time to see my mystery man reappear. The new neighbor strode out to the Jeep and opened up the back. When he once more headed toward the house, the ball cap was gone and his short hair was on display. In each hand he carried a guitar case.
I perked up. Musicians were cool. Unless he owned electric guitars and believed in turning the volume up to eleven. That could get old fast.
As he got closer to the house, the porchlight hit him and…huh. Something about his profile tugged at a memory.
Guess he felt my gaze, because he turned toward my place. And whoa. His lips were a thin line, his jaw set to cranky, and none of it mattered—the man was beautiful. Though he really was strangely familiar.
Meanwhile, with only a lamp on behind me, I couldn’t have been more than an outline. A shadowy person lurking in the dark. Great. Nothing like being spied on to make you feel welcome in your new neighborhood. So much better than a casserole or cookies.
Wait! I knew where I recognized him from. Only it couldn’t be, because that would be crazy. Absolutely fucking wild. Yet there he stood.
“Holy shit,” I whispered.
My new neighbor was a goddamn rock star.

••••••••

REVIEW: CLOSER by Kylie Scott is instalment 4.6 in the author’s contemporary, adult STAGE DIVE rock romance series focusing in the members of the rock band Stage Dive, and the latest addition to the multi-authored 1001 Dark Nights. This is security specialist (aka executive protection officer) and former military man Ziggy Thayer, and model Mae Cooper’s story line. CLOSER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from first person point of view (Mae Cooper) CLOSER follows the building relationship between security specialist (aka executive protection officer) and former military man Ziggy Thayer, and model Mae Cooper. Mae Cooper has a stalker whose ‘gifts’ have become more menacing and threatening. Living in the same secure building as the members of the band Stage Dive, at the suggestion of Lena Ferris, Mae is about to face her future in the guise of a personal bodyguard. Enter executive protection officer Ziggy Thayer, and the man with whom Mae will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Mae and Ziggy, and the potential fall-out as Mae’s past collides with her present and her future.

Ziggy Thayer doesn’t do relationships but falling for a client could mean the end of his career. Trying to keep their relationship professional Ziggy fails miserably as his attraction to Mae grows with each encounter. Mae Cooper suspects someone from her past is desperate to destroy her life but ‘living’ with Ziggy Thayer gives Mae the opportunity to explore something new, something she is hoping will turn into her happily ever after.

The relationship between Mae and Ziggy is one of immediate attraction but Mae doesn’t think she needs protection as Ziggy goes above and beyond to protect the woman with whom he will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters included cameo appearances by some of the members of the rock band Stage Dive, as well we their significant others. CLOSER does not focus on the band but on their extended group of friends and acquaintances.

CLOSER is a quick read; a story of betrayal and obsession; of second chances and falling in love. The premise is fast paced and engaging; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance is seductive but I struggled with the lack of palpable sexual attraction-I didn’t feel the raw and intense desire that I have come to expect from Kylie Scott.

“Your keys and security alarm code please, miss?” he asked, hand held out waiting.
It might have just been me, but we seemed to be standing awfully close together. It almost seemed weirdly intimate. Almost. No, my bad. Ziggy wore his usual professional façade with nary a hint of emotion on display. His gaze was shuttered, his bearing military rigid. It was definitely just me and my overactive imagination. Being vaguely attracted to your bodyguard was kind of a pain in the ass. Not that I couldn’t use the distraction right now.
Ziggy continued to stand there patiently waiting.
“Keys. Right.” I rummaged inside my Balenciaga City bag. Designer goodies were not only a weakness of mine, but a happy perk of being in the industry and achieving some small fame. “Ah, just a minute. They’re in here somewhere.”
I pushed aside my purse, a cashmere shawl, tampons, a candy bar, some loose change, my small Chanel cosmetics case, a power bank, hair ties, pepper spray, a copy of the latest Sarah MacLean book, mints, a spare charging cable for my cell phone, the cell phone itself, Chapstick, Prada sunglasses case, my grandma’s rosary, dental floss, deodorant, a couple of pens, Kleenex, ear buds, water bottle, a USB stick, reusable straw, condoms, nail file, some old receipts, a travel size umbrella, hand sanitizer, lotion, a pair of pearl earrings, tweezers, Advil, a hair band, and some bobby pins.
“Sorry about this,” I murmured. “I know I put them in here when we left.”
He said nothing. A whole lot of nothing.
“Huh.” With a great sense of victory, I held up a bottle of nail polish. “I thought I’d lost this.”
One of his dark brows crept upwards.
“I’ll have you know this color was limited edition. Little Death at Midnight by Oxley. You can’t buy it anymore.”
His lips did not move, but that damn eyebrow arched even higher as he leaned forward a little and took in the contents of my bag. I swear his eyes widened.
“Don’t you judge me. All of these things are necessary for my ongoing existence.”
“Of course they are, miss.” The man was so judging me. Bastard. “You carry a koozie around with you, I see.”
“It pays to be ready to party, Mr. Thayer.”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 26, 2018

Regret.

I’m a man living with regret. It eats at me night and day.

Eights years ago, I ran from Reagan instead of facing the music. I was sure he would shut me out if he knew the truth, so I beat him to the punch. I left and never looked back.

Or at least I tried not to.

To this day, Reagan is always in the back of my mind, trying to make me remember the fun we had. I always wonder what he would have thought if I’d told him everything.

The regret echoes in my head.

Now he’s standing in front of me, looking for answers I doubt he’s ready for.

Can Reagan accept me for who I really am?

REVIEW:  RIDE ME is the second instalment in Rebecca Brooke’s contemporary, adult JADED IVORY erotic, rock romance series focusing on the members of the rock band Jaded Ivory. This is twenty six year olds, Jaded Ivory’s drummer Sawyer Alason, and attorney Reagan Setton’s story line. RIDE ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: RIDE ME contains graphic scenes of M/M sexual situations that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual firs person perspectives (Sawyer and Reagan) RIDE ME follows the rekindling friendship and building romance between twenty six year olds, former best friends, Jaded Ivory’s drummer Sawyer Alason, and attorney Reagan Setton. From the age of seven Reagan and Sawyer were best friends but the day before each was to head off to college, Sawyer disappeared without explanation. Fast forward to present day wherein Reagan is desperate to reconnect with his best friend, the friend he hasn’t heard from in close to eight years. Enter Jaded Ivory’s drummer Sawyer Alason, and the man with whom Reagan will fall in love. What ensues is the rebuilding friendship, and romance between Reagan and Sawyer, and the potential fall-out as neither one has come out of the proverbial closet, threatening their hard fought anonymity with the media and friends.

Sawyer Alason has always known he was gay but having fallen in love with Reagan at the age of sixteen, Sawyer struggled with the potential loss of his best friend, a friend from whom he walked away without explanation. Now the drummer for the up and coming rock band Jaded Ivory, Sawyer is hoping Reagan’s reappearance won’t be destroyed when the truth is revealed. Reagan Setton never considered himself gay or bi-sexual but reconnecting with Sawyer Alason found our hero wondering about the what ifs, including his strong and visceral reaction to a man he once considered his best friend.

The relationship between Reagan and Sawyer is a rekindling friendship; a best friends to lovers M/M romance that struggles in the face of potential rejection, discrimination and loss of family and friends. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are re-introduced to the members of the band: lead singer Mari Cosmann, and her boyfriend Cole Wallace (Rock Me #1); Keyboardist Heath Marshall, lead guitarist Jackson Hadden and bass player Monty Vance, as well as band manager Tom; Sawyer’s parents Charlene and Derek: and Reagan’s parents Kathleen and Tommy.

RIDE ME is a story of family, friendship, loyalty, and heart break. The premise is engaging and endearing; the characters are colorful, and charismatic; the romance is seductive and passionate. RIDE ME is a wonderful , sensitive and spirited story line of friendship, second chances, and falling in love.

REVIEW: HARD LESSON is the first installment in Savannah Skye’s contemporary, adult TOURING WITH THE BAND erotic, rock band romance series focusing on the members of the rock ban Sub-Zero. This is lead singer Dev Lachlan, and the band’s social media guru Cheri ‘Bug’ Galveson.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Dev and Cheri) HARD LESSON is a friends to lovers story line focusing on Sub –Zero’s leading singer twenty eight year old Dev Lachlan, and twenty three year old Cheri Galveson. Dev, Cheri and her brother Rory have been friends most of their lives, and now that the band has hit the big time, there is little time for personal relationships or falling in love…except….Cheri has loved her brother’s best friend Dev Lachlan since she was eight years old, and Dev still sees Cheri as his best friend’s little sister. Tired of watching from the sidelines Cheri makes Dev an offer he should have refused-teach her how to seduce a man, and then walk away at the end of the tour. What ensues is the building relationship between Dev and Cheri, and the potential for fall out when their affair is revealed.

The relationship between Cheri and Dev is one of mutual attraction but Dev has always looked at Cheri as Rory’s little sister but Cheri is no longer the girl that constantly followed the band around-she is now a woman who wants what other women want –Dev Lachlan. Dev is a bit of a manwhore; a different woman in bed every night but there is one woman that is willing to offer more than a one night stand. The $ex scenes are intimate, intense and seductive.

We are introduced to the members of the band and their crew: Cheri’s older brother, Sub-Zero’s drummer Rory Galveson, and guitarists Connor, Mac and Quinn, as well as PR director and Cheri’s best friend Gina Saldano: tour and production manager Richard Hawkins; and band manager Bill.

The world building looks at the struggles on the road; behind the scenes; and the over crowded tour bus. The band’s manager has booked an intense three week tour that in the end will see the band lose more than a few nights of sleep. Mixing business with pleasure is always a bad combination when big brother is watching. We learn a little bit about Cheri and Rory’s earlier life but very little is fleshed out about Dev’s younger years or what makes our story line hero tick.

HARD LESSON is a slow building story line; a push and pull of palpable sexual energy that focuses on Cheri’s love for a man who is unable (or refuses) to offer more than the present. The premise is playful but I felt there was something missing in the overall presentation; the characters are passionate; the romance is tender but predictable.

REVIEW: SAVAGED SURRENDER is the introductory novella in Jennifer Lyons’s contemporary, adult SAVAGED ILLUSIONS erotic, romance series focusing on the sexy rock band of the same name. The SAVAGED ILLUSIONS series is a spin off from Jennifer’s THE PLUS ONE CHRONICLES. This is security specialist/ wannabe chef Ethan Hunt, and bakery chef Ana Kendall’s story line. You do not have to have read the Plus One Chronicles to understand the concept of Savaged Surrender although I recommend reading the original series for the enjoyment.

Told from dual third person points of view (Ana and Ethan) SAVAGED ILLUSIONS is a story of second chances. For seven years Ethan and Ana were best friends dancing around their attraction to one another but never crossing the line between friendship and $ex. Ethan struggling with his past, as a former MMA fighter destroyed by a cheating scandal, finds our hero the newest security specialist for the rock band Savaged Illusions, and heads out on tour leaving a heartbroken Ana Kendall behind. Eleven months later Ana will re-enter Ethan’s life- a changed woman who knows that if she cannot have Ethan Hunt as her happily ever after, she will take him for one night only-no string attached. What ensues is the rekindling of a friendship that leads to love but a friendship that is threatened on both sides of the relationship.

The rekindling relationship between Ethan and Ana is one of second chances. Ana has loved Ethan for as long as she can remember but the two have never made any commitment to a future together, and have never proclaimed their love for one another. Eleven months earlier Ana and Ethan shared a kiss to remember but our hero walked away without a backwards glance. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense with a little bit of the erotic factor.

We are quickly introduced to several band members from Savaged Illusions, as well as Ana’s best friends Franci and Chelle, and her step-mother Linda. The requisite evil comes from two different directions including a man determined to use Ana for a future book deal, and a celebrity chef named Siena who wants Ethan for herself.

SAVAGED SURRENDER is a sexy and spicy story of romance about two people who have loved one another for years. The premise is an energetic and entertaining; the characters are passionate and animated; the romance is steamy and provocative. Check out SAVAGED SURRENDER and make Jennifer Lyon’s your next go-to author.
