••••••••

REVIEW: AMBER is the first instalment in Elle Casey’s contemporary, adult RED HOT LOVE rock, romance series focusing on three sisters-Amber Fields, Emerald Collins, and Rose Lancaster. This is rock star Ty Stanz, and twenty five year old Amber Fields’ story line.

Told from first person perspective (Amber) AMBER follows twenty four year old Amber Fields as she goes in search of the truth. For twenty –four years Amber and her two ‘sisters’, Emerald and Rose, have lived a quiet, hippie-like lifestyle with their mothers, mothers who sought the peace and solitude of a free existence, an existence far from the life they once grew to love. When a powerful attorney shows up offering the sisters a lump sum payment for sins of the past, Amber is about to get the experience of a lifetime when she heads to New York, and discovers the secrets about her mother’s life. Enter rock star Ty Stanz, and the man with whom Amber will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Amber and Ty, and the potential fall-out as all is revealed to the world to see.

Ty Stanz is the new lead guitarist for the 90s rock group Red Hot but as weeks lead to months where Ty does not feel like a member of the group relegated to errand boy and punching bag for Red Hot’s die-hard fans, our hero struggles with his place in the band. Meeting Amber Fields gave Ty a chance at his own happily ever after, a happily ever after that is threatened by secrets of the past, secrets that may destroy the woman he loves, and the band he hopes to call his own.

The relationship between Ty and Amber begins acrimoniously as Ty is unhappy as escort and chaperone for Amber Fields. Amber is a strong willed, independent young woman who is willing to go head to head with anyone discrediting her family or her life but secrets from the past are about to blow wide open the family she thought she knew. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble of colorful secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to the members of Red Hot: lead singer Red Wylde, drummer Mooch Gyllenhaal, rhythm guitar Cash Stagger, bassist Paul Goldman, former band member Darrell Ford, and their lawyer Greg Lister and his niece Linny Lister, as well as Amber’s mothers Barb Fields, Carol Collins and Sally Lancaster.

AMBER is a story of family, secrets, betrayal and lies. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is seductive and intense; the characters are flirty, cautious, sassy and real. AMBER is a wonderful and compelling story line with a kind-hearted heroine is determined to protect the people she loves.

EMERALD
(Red Hot Love #2)
by Elle Casey
Genre: adult, contemporary, rock, romance

ebook only 99¢ Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / Chapters/Indigo /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 12, 2018

Emerald Collins is nothing like her strong-willed sister Amber. When she found out her father was a member of the legendary rock group Red Hot, sensitive Em was determined to carry on as normal—she had no interest in finding out more about her dad or leaving her quiet sanctuary in Maine.

But while visiting Amber in New York, Em meets Sam, a tortured, sexy, and utterly unsuitable musician. Sam and Em are used to life behind the scenes but their undeniable attraction is about to put them right in the spotlight.

When Sam reveals a shocking secret about his past, Emerald has to make a choice. Will she follow her head and return home or is the magnetism between them and the excitement of the big city enough for her to follow her heart?

•••••••••

REVIEW: EMERALD is the second instalment in Elle Casey’s contemporary, adult RED HOT LOVE romance series focusing on three ‘sisters’-Amber Fields, Emerald Collins and Rose Lancaster. This is twenty-seven year old, rock musician and song writer Sam Stanz, and twenty five year old Emerald Collins’ story line. EMERALD can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

NOTE: If you have not read book one –AMBER-there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from first person perspective (Emerald) EMERALD follows the building relationship between twenty-seven year old, rock musician and song writer Sam Stanz, and twenty five year old Emerald Collins. Emerald’s sister Amber has fallen in love, and moved to New York, and our heroine misses her terribly. With an invite to visit, Emerald reluctantly sets her sights on the Big Apple but is unprepared to fall in love. Enter Sam Stanz, Ty Stanz’s (AMBER) younger brother, and the man with whom Emerald will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Sam and Emerald, and the potential fall-out as Sam’s life begins to spiral out of control when ghosts from the past take center stage.

Sam Stanz is a song writer but struggles with the spotlight. Heading to New York to meet up with his brother finds our hero battling between the present and the past, a past that controls his head and his heart. Emerald is the quiet sister; shy and reserved but not afraid to defend the people she loves and protects. Meeting Sam Stanz stirs something deep without Emerald’s heart, a heart she is quickly losing to our story line hero. Still struggling with the truth about her mothers’ past, Emerald battles between curiosity, anger and rejection in light of the startling news.

The relationship between Sam and Emerald is one of immediate attraction but Emerald is only in New York for a short amount of time. With Sam’s home base in LA, Emerald struggles with the what ifs and whys of falling in love with a man whose own life is spiralling out of control. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

EMERALD is, like Amber, a story of family and secrets, revelation and acceptance, heart break and loss. The premise is captivating; the characters are affectionate, spirited and real; the romance is tender, sweet and encouraging. EMERALD is an emotional and inspiring tale of love, loss, and acknowledgement.

•••••••••

REVIEW: ROSE is the third instalment in Elle Casey’s contemporary, adult RED HOT LOVE romance series focusing on three ‘sisters’- Amber Fields, Emerald Collins and Rose Lancaster. This is attorney Greg Lister, and animal rehabber Rose Lancaster’s story line. ROSE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

Told from first person perspective (Rose) ROSE follows the building relationship and romance between attorney Greg Lister, and twenty-five year old, animal rehabber Rose Lancaster. Greg is the attorney for the 90s rock band Red Hot but our hero struggles between head and heart as his attraction to Rose places Greg in a compromising position. As the representative of the men whose lives have changed Amber, Emerald and Rose, Greg is unable to reveal the truth to the woman with whom he is falling in love. What ensues is the building romance between Greg and Rose, and the potential fall-out as Rose, and her animal clinic are targeted leaving a heart broken Rose in the wake.

Rose has always wanted to be a veterinarian but life and the quick take-off of her animal rehabbing hospital took priority in her life. Meeting Red Hot’s high powered attorney Greg Lister allowed Rose to consider her options for the future, options that would be quickly destroyed when the truth is revealed.

The relationship between Greg and Rose begins as a business arrangement as Greg is the purveyor of some intriguing and heart breaking news. Time together, and distance apart force Rose to reconsider what it is she wants to do with the rest of her life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

ROSE is the final instalment in Elle Casey’s RED HOT LOVE romance series focusing on three young women who never knew their fathers but had always wondered about the who and why. The character driven premise is moving; the romance is spicy; the characters are spirited and sassy.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 11, 2018.

He’s a rock star with a secret; she’s a pop princess with a painful past, can their forbidden romance survive, or will their lies destroy them both?

I’ve earned my bad reputation.

A few years ago, I was New York City’s hottest classical music prodigy. But I wanted something else, something more. So I chased my real dream, and now… I’m rock royalty. Dax Hughes, lead guitarist of Nothing but Trouble. But to my family and former Juilliard classmates, I’m an outcast. A misfit. A rebel.

They’re not entirely wrong. I don’t give a damn what other people think, and I’m all for breaking the rules… except when it comes to our new opening act, Verity Moore.

Rock gods don’t tour with pop princesses.

It’s not personal. Actually, under that fallen diva reputation, Verity’s incredibly talented. And her fiery redheaded personality is… intriguing. But I’m convinced the skeletons in Verity’s closet are as scandalous as my own, and when we’re not sparring, she has a way of drawing out all those secrets I’m determined to keep hidden.

Yeah. Verity Moore is definitely off-limits . . .
But since when do I give a damn about the rules?

•••••••••••

REVIEW: Rock Rebel is book three in the Nothing But Trouble series by Tara Leigh.
The story continues for rock band Nothing But Trouble’s guitarist Dax Hughes.

Dax’s backstory is that he left his family and classical music career behind to follow the woman he loved to California. But once in LA the woman he followed did not want the same things he did. Thats when he joined Nothing But Trouble. With his heart broken he threw everything he had into his band.

Verity Moore was a former child star, pop princess who had her own tv show and her mom as her manager. Verity has been through hell in her career and life. But she now wants to reignite her career and she is hoping that Nothing But Trouble’s manager, Travis Taggert may be the one to do that and restore her reputation.

But when Dax and Verity cross paths in an elevator the sparks fly! But both of them have their share of secrets. While this is Dax’s book, I truly believe he was uostaged by Verity.

This book explores a lot of todays hot topic, current cultures of the #MeToo movement. Verity has never been perfect but she has been wronged on so many levels. But Dax stands with her and supports her! But is it enough!

And can Dax get over his broken heart enough to let someone else in?

What a wonderful rock romance, that can be read alone or in order with the series. But I recommend the latter!

This one, in my opinion had the deepest connection between the main characters in the Nothing But Trouble series!

Highly recommend even if rock romance isn’t your usual style.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 8, 2018

I’m the black sheep son.

The one no one ever knew about.

The one your mum wouldn’t want you to bring home.

I have the Kagan face and the Kagan voice and let’s be real—the legendary Kagan d!ck.

And now I was a rockstar too, on my way up. Soaring so high no one could rip me back down to earth.

Finally, I had it all…and then there was Zoe. Sweet, trusting Zoe, who was so much stronger than she looked.

The only woman who could bring me to my knees.

I would do anything to protect her. To keep her mine. And to protect my new family, the one I was sure I never wanted.

They didn’t understand how far I’d go to get the pot of gold. And then it was too late. There was no turning back.

No keeping them safe.

I’d made promises to the devil, and the devil always got his due.

One way or another.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Fall in love with Ian Kagan, our new rockstar anti-hero in the continuation of our super hot, romantic suspense trilogy, Rock Revenge. The trilogy occurs in the Oblivion world though it can be read on its own.

••••••••••

REVIEW: ROCK RECLAIMED is the second instalment in the contemporary, adult ROCK REVENGE erotic, romance trilogy co-authored by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. ROCK RECLAIMED focuses on the building relationship between artist and photographer Zoe Manning, and wanna be rockstar and Simon Kagan’s half-brother Ian Kagan. ROCK RECLAIMED and the Rock Revenge Trilogy are a spin-off from the authors’ Lost in Oblivion series, and as such several characters cross-over for cohesion.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ian and Zoe), as well as several third person points of view including Simon and Margo ROCK RECLAIMED focuses on Ian Kagan, Simon Kagan’s unknown half-brother as he begins his ascent towards fame and stardom. Meeting photographer and artist Zoe Manning gave Ian that special someone in his life, someone with whom Ian was falling in love. But Ian Kagan kept secret the true reason for searching out the brother he never met, reasons that will quickly create a dangerous situation for everyone concerned. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ian and Zoe, and the potential fall-out as Ian’s past is hoping to cash in on the family fame and fortune.

Zoe Manning is Lila Shawcross’ cousin, and in this Lila is a little over-protective of her younger cousin. Zoe’s own star is about to rise, as her artistic and photographic abilities are demanded of our story line hero. But Zoe struggles to understand Ian’s attentions believing Ian has his pick of any woman but wants Zoe with every breath he takes. Ian Kagan has always come in second, the forgotten Kagan brother but a brother who is determined to make his way in the world of rock. Unable to shake off the past that is demanding everything and more, Ian is forced to reveal the truth before it is too late.

Meanwhile Simon and Margo have a secret of their own, one that they no longer are able to hide. When Lila makes Simon an offer he cannot refuse Simon is taken aback by the younger brother he once knew nothing about.

ROCK RECLAIMED is a story of family and friendship; betrayal and revenge; romance and love. As Ian tries desperately to prove he is worthy of Zoe’s love, Zoe finds herself falling for a man with too many secrets from a past he can no longer hide. The premise is revealing and heart breaking; the characters are colorful and dynamic; the romance is emotional and passionate. ROCK RECLAIMED is a wonderful, amazing and fantastic addition to Quinn and Elliott’s rock star worlds.

REVIEW: Ok, I really wasn’t sure.

As you know, I don’t really like first person POV (point of view), the story told by the characters, I’d much rather read it in the 3rd person. But I settled down and opened my kindle …..

Heidi is a reality show star, and a psychology major, but wants a change of career, and becoming a roadie to a band seems like a good idea…. but she doesn’t get it, what she gets is a personal assistant to the band job, she will have to organise them and have them ready in three months time for a tour.

Heidi wants this, she knows she can do this, but there are stipulations …… In her contract it clearly states that getting romantically or sexually involved with any band member is strictly forbidden, it will lead to instant dismissal and possible legal problems.

She needs to be on call to the band 24/7, she will have to keep them motivated, and she has to be ready to go in less than a week !!
She’s so excited, she’s a huge fan, and then guilt hits …. what about Daniel ? (That’s the boyfriend) they won’t see each other until it’s done, how will their relationship survive? And as it is, Heidi is a little worried as two years down the line, the passion is gone, and they live like an old married couple……

John is a rock star, living the dream …..
But he’s not really happy, he’s drunk most of the time, but he needs something, but isn’t sure what ….. until he meets the bands new personal assistant Heidi, there is interest in her eyes, and he’s seen it all before, but still, John is drawn to her.
He’s possessive and very controlling toward Heidi from day one.

It’s written like a diary entry, which made it a different way to read. This book is just that “Week 1 in Austin”, it all literally transpires in one week !!!

After their initial meeting, there is lots of flirting and looks between the couple.

And by the end of the week, they’ve slept together !!

She is so confused ….. he wants her, he’s possessive, but after sex ignores her !! Then when the guilt about Daniel creeps in, she becomes very confused ….

she can’t get a reading on his emotions (and studying psychology, you would have thought she would be able to read him a little better ?!

The by-play between the two characters is very tangled, lots of mixed messages (in fact I think too many mixed messages)

So I’m hoping the next book will slow down and clarify a few things, and these mixed messages need to lessen (as I go really dizzy at one point) ?

The Austin Series #2
by Henriette Vesterbak
Release Date: September 1, 2018
Genre: adult, contemporary, rock, romance

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO

He’s a world-famous rock star from Texas. She’s his personal assistant. Can they make it work?

“I’m in charge. You understand that now, don’t you?”
“Yes,” I gasp.
“Good. Glad we sorted that out,” he answers coolly.

This erotic new adult novel follows reality star Heidi Johansen during the second week of her 14-day probation period as personal assistant to the rock band South Bane—14 days she’ll never forget.

A week in, she throws caution to the wind and lets herself give in to John and his incessant flirting. Heidi quickly comes to realize that she’s completely unprepared for the kind of relationship John’s looking for. Total submission. She finds herself wondering, Can I handle this?

The sudden romance puts all her limits to the test. Her physical and emotional limits become lines in the sand, and the more John pushes her, the harder she falls for him. But the crossing of her personal boundaries is the least of her problems – there’s still a clause in her employment contract standing between her and the great love affair she can just about see on the horizon.

John presents her with one alluring demand after the other, as Heidi fights to keep their romance secret from Ben and Mason. She wants him more than anything, but getting a pink slip from the job that brought them together in the first place could ruin everything before it has even really started. Will they find a way to make it work?

This novel is part of the Austin Series:
Week 1 in Austin – The Chase
Week 2 in Austin – The Capture

Heidi’s two weeks in Austin pass in a blur of drinking, smoking, cursing, flirting, banging, and kissing, putting all her limits to the test. The eroticism is permeated with intimacy and love, and the intense romance between John and Heidi taps into the desire to be taken—mind, body, and soul.

The Austin Series offers an intriguing combination of excitement and a sizzling affair, delivered with elegance and eloquence.

••••••••••••

REVIEW: This is part two, and you really need to read book one.

This whole book covers just one week duh ?
so ….

week 2 and the chemistry is still hot between Heidi and John (but still plays games with her head and heart, is he testing her ? And if so why ?)

But he continues to blow hot and cold, and the dominance he tries to pull on Heidi is definitely not fifty shades, he sounds like a petulant child. And Heidi needs to say no mean no…..

Heidi needs to keep their romance under cover (if she’s found out, she’ll be sacked and sent back home) but the other band members are beginning to suspect a few things.

John wants total obedience, and he gets a little nasty with it (is it because of his drinking ? Or is there a more sinister reason?)
He can’t work Heidi out, so he continues to push her buttons.

And what happens when the other band members find out ? Will they insist she leaves ? And why is everyone warning her away from John ?
And what about Daniel ? What will he think if the gossip about the P.A and the rock star hits the news ?

Roll on week 3 ?

REVIEW: ROCK REVENGE is the first instalment in the contemporary adult ROCK REVENGE trilogy co-authored by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. ROCK REVENGE is a spin-off from the authors’ LOST IN OBLIVION series. This is thirty year old Simon and Margo Kagan, and twenty-five year old Ian Kagan’s story line. You do not have to have read the original series but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading Lost in Oblivion.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Simon and Margo), and first person perspective Ian Kagan, ROCK REVENGE follows in the wake of shock and surprise as a stranger with Simon’s face and voice has revealed to the world that he is the younger, more talented brother to Oblivion’s front man Simon Kagan. A televised, British talent competition wherein Ian will eventually discover the truth about the fraudulent, behind the scene push and pull forces Ian to look elsewhere in the hopes of having it all.

Simon Kagan can’t believe his ears or his eyes but Ian Kagan is unmistakably an exact duplicate of the man he once was. Hoping to put an end to the scam perpetrated by an unknown singer, Simon will confront Ian, a twenty five year old man who believes he is Simon’s illegitimate younger brother. What ensues is a fight between brother, and the realization that you can’t have it all.

Oblivion’s lead guitarist Nick, and his wife and band manager Lila Crandall play secondary and supporting roles as Lila begins an investigation to reveal the truth. Donovan Lewis, record company executive, knows that there is something behind the angry eyes and beautiful voice of the British rock star wanna be-a similar something he continues to see in Oblivion’s front man Simon Kagan.

ROCK REVENGE is a story of family, rivalry, betrayal and love. A novella length emotional and heart breaking introduction to the Rock Revenge Trilogy wherein Simon must accept what was and what is going to be, as Ian sets out to make a name for himself.

Nothing But Trouble #2
by Tara Leigh
Release Date: July 17, 2018
Genre: adult, contemporary, erotic, rock, romance

I’m no Prince Charming.

Most people know me as the drummer for Nothing but Trouble. Depending who you ask, I’m also a playboy, a loner, the life of the party, a screw-up, or according to my fans, “The Sexiest Rock Star on the Planet.” Apparently, I’m a legend.

Am I surprised? Hell, no. It’s a reputation I’ve earned behind my drum kit and behind closed doors. No one thought foster kid Landon Cox would become famous. Infamous, maybe. Notorious, probably. But successful? Never. No one except Piper Hastings. But I had to make a choice: my woman or my career. I picked fame and fortune… and spent every damn day since pretending I don’t regret it.

Now fate’s dropped Piper back into my life. I want to believe it’s a second chance for me – for us. But while I can give her a few great nights, I can’t give Piper a future.

Because there’s a difference between a legend and a fairy tale…
Only one of them ends happily ever after.

•••••

REVIEW:

The story continues with Rock Legend, the Nothing But Trouble series by Tara Leigh. This book can be read as a stand alone or as part of the series.

This story focuses on publicist Piper and her history with drummer Landon Cox.

They had a brief romance while in college, but Landon disappeared and Piper Hastings never heard from him again.

Landon Cox is a famous drummer for the band Nothing But Trouble. He is living the rockstar lifestyle of the rich and famous. He has had a rough life as a past foster child. In fact that builds the bridge on how he treats relationships in his present life. But he begins to wonder if there is more to life than the rich and famous lifestyle. That is until he sees Piper Hastings, the woman he walked away from in college to pursue the rocker life.

Piper works in PR and her firm handles the band Nothing But Trouble. But Piper never forgot her one true love. Her college sweetheart that walked away without so much as a goodbye. For the past six years she has wondered if it something that she has done. Up until now, Piper has managed to steer clear of Landon until fate and Delaney forced them together.

This is a second chance rock star romance. I am not going to lie, I wasn’t keen on either of these characters in the first book. Landon proves to be the mess that he is. And he has allowed his life issues to affect his present. But deep down, he wants a family to love and one that will love him.

When he sees Piper again he realizes that he can not throw away the chance to have what is missing in his life. And what ensues is a second chance romance worth writing about.

Both of the main characters must come to grips with their pasts and the choices that have led them to where they are. Both of them must come to terms with accepting themselves as they are in their moment.

Wonderful rock star story that leads you on a thrilling journey!

Still shirtless and sweating after an intense performance, my eyes danced over the rippling muscles rising from beneath the inked skin of Landon’s naked torso, his broad shoulders tapering to slim hips, perfect V cuts forming an arrow pointing south.
Vitality seeping from every pore.
My gaze was drawn inexorably upward. Blond hair a damp mess, the faintest trace of stubble darkening a jawline that could have been cut from marble. A face so symmetrical, so severely beautiful, it would take even the most talented sculptor a lifetime to get right.
Landon Cox was a fantasy in the flesh.
I’d imagined this very moment dozens—no, hundreds—of times. But now that the moment was here, Landon and I, alone in a room again after all these years, I had nothing.
In a blink, Landon’s expression wavered. His winged brows, three shades darker than the hair sweeping across his forehead, pulled together. Eyes like hot coals burning into me.
As if the sight of me caused him pain.
I tore my gaze away from his face, but it only landed on the swaths of ink covering his chest and extending over his arms. My mouth watered at the sight. I wanted to trace every tattoo with my tongue, every slash and swirl and stripe. After six years, how would Landon taste?
Like regret, I realized with a sickening thud. Because regret was all that remained of what we’d once shared.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 20,2018

I’m not who you think I am.

Shane Hawthorne has it all. At least, that’s what the headlines say about me. I have millions of fans, awards, more money – and women – than I know what to do with. But what you don’t see is the wreckage I’ve caused. The memories and pain I can’t escape, even when I pour them into music and spin them into gold.

I tried to forget. To lose myself in booze and groupies. It didn’t work. It hurt me and – worse – it hurt my band. That’s the last thing I want to do, so I’m cleaning up my act… starting with Delaney Fraser.

Gorgeous, smart, drama-free, and even nice – Delaney is the perfect “girlfriend.” When I’m with her I don’t have to pretend. It’s like she sees the real me. And I can see a future with her. But that’s dangerous. Because the truth is, Shane Hawthorne doesn’t actually exist. He’s a shield to hide who I really am. Fraud. Runaway. Addict. Murderer.

And it’s impossible to love a lie, right?

The Nothing but Trouble series:
Rock King
Rock Legend-TBA
Rock Rebel-TBA

REVIEW: Rock King by Tara Leigh is book one in the Nothing But Trouble series.

Shane Hawthorne is the drop dead gorgeous lead singer of the world famous Nothing But Trouble rock band. He is complete legendary rock star status. But what the world doesn’t know is behind the public facade he struggles to keep it all together. Previous drug, alcohol and sex addiction is the least of his past worries. He has a secret that he has struggled years to hide. And no one – absolutely no one can find out about it.

Delaney Fraser is beautiful, smart, and drama free. But she is not living the life she wishes she was. She dreams of returning to school to finish her degree and freeing her father from jail. When she gets invited to celebrity agent Travis Taggert’s party – she knows immediately that she is out of her league. Travis invited her because she is exactly the type that rock star Shane Hawthorne goes for. And he was right – from the moment Shane meets Delaney – he realizes he must have her. And not just for the sex but he sees the absolute good in her and thinks that she will do amazing things just being around him. He pursues her to be his “fake girlfriend” for his next tour. Having her there will keep him away from the drugs, alcohol and be a buffer between him and the groupies. But Delaney is hiding from a past and has secrets of her own. When their two worlds collide what culminates in the end could either be revealing and releasing or it could end in utter chaos and broken hearts.

Shane Hawthorne is pure cocky rock god. Or at least that’s what he portrays to the public and his fans. But Shane hasn’t been honest with his fans or anyone else for that matter. He isn’t who anyone thinks he is. He is really Sean Sutter who is running from a past he has regretted and ran from for years. But very few know the truth. When he meets Delaney he can’t help but open himself to her completely. He tells her everything – every detail that he has ran from for years.

But Delaney has her own secret that sent her dad to prison for a crime he did not commit. He makes her swear to never tell the truth of the accident, and to never come and see him in prison.

But in one fell swoop – it is released to the public that Shane hires fake girlfriends for his tours. In the fallout from that, he must come face to face with the fact of who he really is and what he has done in his past. And with the urging of Delaney he faces his past head on.

Just when Shane thinks his life just can’t get any better, his world collapses as he finds out that Delaney has been lying to him and with-holding facts about her life. Will he be able to get past the lies that she told and love her completely? Or is it all too much for him to handle, and can he even walk away?

I have never been a fan of “rockstar” romances. But I thoroughly enjoyed this. The characters were real and true.

I felt their guilt and fears and relief when the revealed their truths. Its a glimpse into the lives of rockstar’s and what exactly life on the road and maintaining a relationship really means. I enjoyed the development of the relationships and even enjoyed the sub-characters.

Although I am still on the fence on how I feel about Travis. I hope there is redemption in his future. Shane and Delaney made me swoon and left me wanting more. Would recommend to anyone that loves a good romance with hot and steamy sex scenes thrown in.

REVIEW: Breathe is book two in The Luminous Series by K.E. Osborn.

This book continues you on the journey of Mercs and Effa that we read about in book one.

It does not skip a beat and continues the riveting conclusion of the cliffhanger we were left with in Pulse.
From the first word you are completely in it!

This book begins with Mercs desperately trying to save Effa’s life.

Effa has been drugged by an obsessive peer. And Effa was on the brink of life and death when Mercs found her.
Your heart will speed up, your breath will quicken as you read his desperate attempt to save her life.
My heart broke… He needs her. He needs her in his life and will do anything for her to be alright!

The agony that he felt in that moment is absolutely palpable.

Will Effa make a full recovery? What will happen if she doesn’t?

This book is a wonderful continuation of the relationship of Mercs and Effa. Yes it is based on a rock star, but it is so much more than that! And it is deep, moving, current and emotional.

The depth of the relationships of not only Mercs and Effa, but all of the sub-characters is amazing!

The book continue’s with Merc’s sister Kiera’s cancer battle. And the treatment she needs is expensive and the family just does not have the means. A decision Mercs made in the first book is back to haunt him. And as he battles to figure out how to deal with his past and overcome his past mistakes. You wonder why his pride keeps him from telling Effa what is going on. It’s a trying moment in their relationship and will prove whether they can overcome his prideful reasons.

Wonderfully written. Emotionally turbulent! I cried, laughed and ran the gamut of emotions with this one! I look forward to the stories continuing! A must read for all romance fans.
