Told from dual first person perspectives (Lucille and Oliver) RILED REIGN follows in the wake of an economic disaster unfolding in the sovereign state of Molave. Lucille is an American with royal pedigree, and an arranged marriage with Crown Prince Roman Godfrey, a man ten years her senior, has never been a marriage of hearts and flowers, romance or love but rumors begin to swirl about civil unrest, in the face of economic disaster, and Lucille’s husband Crown Prince Roman Godfrey has been AWOL for weeks. A family birthday finds Lucille facing her husband, a man she no longer recognizes, as said man is not the same man to whom she is married.
RILED REIGN is a fast paced, quick read that introduces some of the backstory to Aleatha Romig’s ROYAL REFLECTIONS series. A modern fairytale, akin to the movie DAVE, wherein an actor is hired to impersonate a person in power but no longer in control. RILED REIGN is an interesting and intriguing introduction to ROYAL REFLECTIONS.
