REVIEW:RYKER is the first instalment in Samantha Lind’s contemporary, adult SAN FRANCISCO SHOCKWAVES erotic, hockey romance series. This is San Francisco Shockwaves team captain Ryker Jorgensen, and Avery Reid’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ryker and Avery) RYKER follows the building romance and relationship between San Francisco Shockwaves team captain Ryker Jorgensen, and Avery Reid. Ryker Jorgensen is hoping to get traded to the San Francisco Shockwaves, the new expansion team, placing him closer to his fifteen year old daughter but Ryker never expected to fall in love with his sexy new neighbor, a woman who has stolen his heart, and his daughter’s as well. Enter Avery Reid. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Avery and Ryker, as our couple navigate a life in which Ryker spends quite a bit of time on the road.

The relationship between Ryker and Avery is one of immediate attraction. Condo neighbors who find themselves falling for one another as the hockey season progresses. Ryker’s daughter Ellie is fifteen years old, and Avery has volunteered to ensure Ellie is looked after while her father is on the road. As Avery and Ryker’s relationship becomes more serious, Ryker is considering a permanent future with our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Avery’s best friend Tori; Ryker’s daughter Ellie, as well as several members of the San Francisco Shockwaves including center Aiden Fox. Aiden and Tori’s story line is next.

RYKER is a story of family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is heart warming and engaging-there is absolutely no conflict, no hardships to overcome, no outside interference or threats. The characters are energetic and dynamic but their development is limited due to the lack of any struggle; the romance is seductive and energetic..

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 6, 2018

Our lives aren’t beautiful or glamorous. They’re dirty and f*cked up.
We live the nightmares people live in fear of.
We live on the edge of the law wondering when it will finally catch up with us or who will bury us before that happens.

But its the outlaw life we chose. It was a choice we all made, and I wouldn’t f*ckin’ take it back. Not ever.

Until she walked into my life and made me second guess everything, I have ever known.
She is an angel, and I am tainted in darkness.
She is pure perfection, and I am stained and bloodied.
I want her, but I know I will never have her.

I just hope that I can come to terms with the fact that she belongs to someone else, and there is nothing I can ever do about it.

My name is Ryker, and this is my story.

REVIEW: RYKER is the first instalment in Dawn Robertson’s contemporary, adult HELL’S RENEGADES erotic, MC romance series focusing on the members of the motorcycle club Hell’s Renegades-a spin off from the author’s HERS series. This is Ian “Ryker” Rutledge, and Lyric’s story line which began in the aforementioned series. RYKER can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the previous series as there is quite a bit of history and a number of previous events that are referenced throughout.

WARNING: RYKER contains graphic MMF and MF sexual situations, strong language and text; violence; as well as questionable fidelity and cheating.

Told from dual first person points of view (Lyric and Ryker) RYKER follows the building relationship between Ryker and Lyric. Lyric is in a committed relationship with a man she does not love but that doesn’t stop her attraction to, and need for the man that has starred in her fantasies for close to a year. Enter Ian ‘Ryker’ Rutledge, Hell’s Renegades member, and the man with whom Lyric will fall in love. What ensues is the tempestuous relationship between Ryker and Lyric, and the potential fall out as the Hell’s Renegades MC heads to war with a rival gang.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including many from the HERS series regulars. The reader is reintroduced to Lyric’s half-sister Seven James-a former dominatrix, whose own lifestyle is measured by power and control.

RYKER is a gritty, no-nonsense look at the MC lifestyle. Dawn Robertson does not sugar-coat the behavior and habits of the men and women associated with the fictionalized motorcycle club convention and decorum- a brash, blatant and raw group of riders who take more than they give. The character driven premise is edgy and erotic; the romance is destructive and intense; the characters are challenging and passionate. I will add I am not a fan of the cover representation-the model looks like a skater-boy rather than a hardened member of a motorcycle gang.

Three times best selling author Dawn Robertson was born and raised in Connecticut before relocating to Florida in 2013. The same year first novel, Hers debuted as an Amazon Best Seller. Replicating that success with two additional novels in the following years.

The Indie publishing world has grown to love her raw writing style depicting strong
women in real life situations, topping the charts in erotica, romance, and romance-suspense. Robertson has even insinuated that the female characters in her book mirror her real life. But, that I’ll leave to speculation.

When Dawn Robertson is not writing she is a full-time Real Estate professional in Florida, and mother of three amazing children.

And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro-hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody’s taking dirty shots—except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start.

As the league’s only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can’t help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she’s got. She hopes their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker’s conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure’s on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it’s too late.

••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: RYKER is the fourth installment in Sawyer Bennett’s adult, contemporary Cold Fury Hockey erotic, romance series focusing on the Carolina Cold Fury professional hockey team. This is Cold Fury goalie and single father Ryker Evans, and Cold Fury’s general manager and former USA Olympic woman’s hockey team goalie Grayson Brannon’s storyline. RYKER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous storylines is revealed where necessary.

Told from alternating first person points of view (Ryker and Gray) RYKER follows the building relationship between Ryker and Gray-a forbidden love story that focuses on the trials and tribulations of the first female general manager in the NHL, and the length Ryker and Gray will go to to hide their relationship from the public and fellow team members. What ensues are a series of clandestine dinners and nights, and the growing animosity of some of the Cold Fury players towards their new general manager.

The relationship between Ryker and Gray is one of forbidden love. Ryker is a single father of two young girls whose soon-to be ex wife had an affair with Ryker’s former teammate. Gray is a never-married young woman whose abilities as general manager go above and beyond the norm. Ryker and Gray’s attraction to one another is immediate but Gray fears repercussions from the media and the team if their relationship should ever be made public-Gray hired Ryker as the new Cold Fury goalie and Ryker’s ability between the pipes has landed him the first string goalie position. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense; seductive and provocative.

The secondary and supporting characters include most of the previous storyline couples as well as Ryker’s two young daughters Violet and Ruby. Ryker’s ex makes an appearance to add conflict to his growing relationship with Gray; and there is also the requisite evil in the form of a team member whose hatred for the first female general manager is psychotic and insane.

The world building continues to focus on the team, the players, and the relationships of the Carolina Cold Fury professional hockey club. If you are a fan of hockey and the NHL, Sawyer’s muse (inspiration) for Ryker Evans is none other than Henry Lundqvist, goalie for the 2015 New York Rangers.

RYKER is a fast paced storyline where another member of the Cold Fury hockey team finds his happily ever after. The premise is engaging and realistic; the characters are colorful, energetic and opinionated; the romance is sexy and hot. There are moments of betrayal and revenge; friendship and family; moving forward and letting go. And I also like the fact that our heroine is strong enough in her abilities to not accept failure or listen to those trying to destroy her personal and professional career.

Sawyer Bennett’s writes with passion; she is devoted to her storylines and the characters we grow to love. COLD FURY HOCKEY is a phenomenal series –a go to read every time.
