ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 1, 2015

This Montgomery Has a Head for Business

Working for Zach Montgomery is challenging on many levels-coming from a wealthy and powerful family, he lives by his own rules and doesn’t answer to anyone. But Gabriella Martine has no intention of backing down. She’s used to handling stubborn men, and it doesn’t hurt that Zach is smart, charismatic… and gorgeous.

And a Heart for Adventure

Zach’s perfect world is turned upside down when a climbing accident leaves him broken, angry, and maddeningly dependent. In his slow quest for recovery, Gabriella is always there to help… but as Zach comes to see his beautiful assistant in a new light, he is forced to re-evaluate what it really means to be a man worthy of Gabriella’s love.

••••••••

REVIEW: I’LL BE THERE is the sixth installment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult THE MONTGOMERY BROTHERS romance series focusing on the Montgomery family. This is CEO Zach Montgomery, and personal assistant Gabriella Martine’s storyline. I’LL BE THERE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty, although I would recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion.

SOME BACKGROUND: Uncle William Montgomery considers himself a matchmaker and his focus now centers on his brother, Robert Montgomery’s family. Zach Montgomery is William’s nephew and latest target-a man whose personal and physical recovery from a fall will depend upon his battered relationship with the woman who calls to his heart. Uncle William and Zach’s father Robert have devised a plan to push Zach and Gabrielle together-even if it means destroying Gabrielle’s heart and soul, in the process.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Zach and Gabriella) I’LL BE THERE focuses on a second chance-of sorts-for Zach and his assistant Gabriella. Zach is in recovery and rehab following a mountain-climbing expedition that went horribly wrong leaving Zach a virtual shell of his former self-in pain, slow to heal, and having a difficult time with his mobility, Zach has become an angry, self-absorbed, broken man, and with it comes threats against family, friends and the people who love him the most. Enter Gabriella Martine-Zach’s long suffering personal assistant, and the woman who bears the brunt of Zach’s fiery temper and caustic personality. For five years, Gabriella has been all but ignored by the man with whom she has fallen in love, and Zach is none the wiser or aware of how much his attitude and personal attacks against Gabrielle have broken her heart.

The relationship between Zach and Gabriella is one that began as employer to employee where the forbidden attraction between two people was hindered by a mistaken perception and hurtful words. Gabriella has become a virtual punching bag for her family’s attacks, and Zach’s abrasive attitude, acerbic rants and bully behavior that have left our heroine a victim of circumstance and office gossip, and the recipient of venomous anger. Gabriella is a smart, competent woman who can’t seem to say no to the man that she loves. Zach’s five year ‘temper tantrum’ and his treatment of Gabriella is nothing short of cruel, yet our heroine endured until the bitter end, when Zach, once again, took everything out of context and allowed jealousy and hate to rule his mouth and his mind. Their attraction to one another has not gone unnoticed by family and friends, but Zach is unwilling to acknowledge the truth about the woman who calls to his heart and his issues with his lack of independence and need for help. Just as their relationship becomes loving and romantic, Zach comes face to face with Gabriella’s past, and pushes Gabriella out of his life – one final time. The $ex scenes are seductive but mostly implied.

I’LL BE THERE is an emotional storyline; a heartbreaking romance about healing and recovery; acceptance and denial; moving forward and letting go. The premise is a story of second chances and making amends; the characters are passionate and intense; the romance is full of anguish, anxiety, and slow to build. My anxiety level over Zach’s attitude and treatment of Gabriella and his family, as well as Gabriella’s willingness to accept Zach’s verbal and emotional attacks left me feeling uneasy and distressed.

Guest Post

Hey, everyone! It’s Samantha Chase and I am psyched to be here with you today. This month I am totally celebrating the release of “I’ll Be There” – book six in the Montgomery Brothers series. I fell in love with this family from the very beginning – and I think some of you have too! But there has been something special about Zach and Gabriella’s story that is different than any of our other Montgomerys.

From the time “Meant for You” came out (book five), readers instantly began asking about Zach and Gabriella. We were introduced to them in that book and you really got a sense that there was a story brewing there. They were snarky and argumentative with one another in a way that you just knew was masking some deep feelings. And by the end of the book we had the makings of a wounded hero and an under-appreciated heroine. The best part is that no matter how angry Zach made us, we still believe there’s room for redemption.

And as for Gabriella, I think readers are waiting for her to put her boss in his place! We want her to stand up for herself and maybe make Zach suffer a little in the process. Who doesn’t love a heroine who finally realizes her self-worth and makes the hero come begging? I know I love that!

I think this story – more than any other I’ve written – deals with the complexity of a relationship between two broken people. It’s more than a personality clash and both Zach and Gabriella have healing to do – both together and apart.

excerpt

It was now or never.
Shifting again so he had his arms resting on the table, he looked at Gabriella and studied her face. “The truth?” he asked and waited until she nodded. “Okay, Gabs. But remember, you asked. I invited you here tonight because I needed you to realize how sorry I was for the way I’ve treated you. I’ve done some serious soul searching these last few days and I don’t like the man I’ve become. I’m committed to my therapy with Alex and I’m committed to getting back to being the head of Montgomerys. I didn’t want you to come in here on the defensive. I wanted us to just have some time to talk and…get to know each other again.”
She leaned back in her chair and let out a shaky breath. “Wow. Okay.”
That was it? That was all she had to say? “But more than that, Gabriella, I don’t want to do any of it without you. I need you. You are the reason I’ve been able to accomplish all I have with the company. You’re the reason I’ve been successful in just about every aspect of my life for the last five years.” Reaching across the table, Zach took one of Gabriella’s hands in his and just marveled at how soft it was. He always wondered what her skin felt like and now that he knew, he wanted to feel more. “Don’t leave me. Please.”
Her blue eyes filled with tears and she used her free hand to quickly wipe them away before they fell and then studied their hands on the table. “Zach,” she said softly, “we’ve been over this.”
“I know, I know,” he replied just as softly. “I need another chance, Gabriella. I need a chance to make things right.” He looked up, his gaze meeting hers. “I need you.”
Deciding to be bold, he turned her hand over and twined their fingers together and gently squeezed. He was surprised she didn’t pull away and thought maybe—just maybe—they were making progress. “I know I can’t erase the things I’ve said and done, but if you’ll give me one more chance, Gabs, I promise not to screw up. If I do anything to upset you, you can walk away. Hell, you can slap me in the face, kick me in the shin or throw something heavy at me and I’ll take it. I just…I can’t do this without you.”
Her eyes never left their joined hands.
“I don’t want to do this without you,” he said quietly.
“I’m afraid to…believe you.” He barely heard her words, they were uttered so softly.
Everything inside of him clenched with pain. His always confident, ever-efficient assistant was now distrusting and uncertain—because of him. “I don’t know what to say to make you believe me. Tell me. Tell me what I need to do. Anything. Anything you need from me to gain your confidence, and I’ll do it.”
She looked up at him. “It’s not that easy. Every day I walked into the office, I gave you another chance. Every time you berated me or made me feel like I screwed up and I came back, I gave you another chance. From my standpoint, you’ve had two years’ worth of second chances. I think I’ve been more than generous.”
His other hand reached out to cup her hand in both of his. “I know you have and you have no idea how much I appreciated it.” She looked at him with disbelief. “It’s true! I know I never said it but every morning you were there, I was thankful. Every time you walked into my office, I was thankful. Please. I’m begging here, Gabs.”

THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE / EVER AFTER by Samantha Chase-a review

the Christmas Cottage

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / The Book Depository / BAM

RELEASE DATE: October 6, 2015

Legend has it that any couple who spends the night in the Christmas Cottage shall have love everlasting…

•••••••••

THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE
Lacey Quinn does not believe in happily-ever-after or the legend of the Christmas Cottage. But her best friend does, and she’s the one getting married. It’s Lacey’s job to make sure everything at the cottage is perfect for the newlyweds. Instead, she finds herself snowed in with the best man, and she begins to wonder if fairy tales really can come true.

REVIEW: THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE is the first installment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary adult The Christmas Cottage romance series. This is Lacey Quinn and Ean Callahan’s storyline

Originally released in November 2012, THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE is a storyline of second chances for Lacey and Ean. Ten years earlier, a then fourteen year old Lacey had fallen in love with her best friend’s eighteen year old brother but Ean was about to head off to college leaving a dejected Lacey behind. Fast forward to present day where Lacey and Ean find themselves the best man and maid of honor in Ean’s sister Ava’s wedding. What ensues is a rekindling of a friendship; the pursuit of a relationship; and a winter storm that traps our leading couple in the Callahan cottage-a cottage some family members believe is magical and will predict the success of any future marriage.

THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE is a romantic storyline: there is no foul language; no graphic adult imagery; and no sexual situations. All of the $ex scenes are implied or fade to black. The characters are colourful and animated although Ava Callahan is the bridezilla from H*ll; the premise is interesting; the romance is predictable and fun.

•••••••••

EVER AFTER
Ava Callahan wants desperately to believe in love everlasting. But when Brian McCabe walks back into her life and upsets her carefully organized world, her commitment to perfection makes it hard to accept the love that’s right in front of her. Will it take a night in the Christmas Cottage for Ava and Brian to find their happy ending?

REVIEW: EVER AFTER is the second installment in Samantha Chase’s The Christmas Cottage contemporary, adult romance series. This is Ava Callahan and Brian McCabe’s storyline.

Originally released in February 2013, EVER AFTER follows Ava Callahan eight months after her wedding was called off when she and her then fiancé Mason realized they had fallen out of love and had nothing in common. Enter Brian McCabe, Mason’s one time best friend, and the man who had fallen in love with Ava months before. As Brian pursues Ava in the hopes of a romantic relationship, Ava begins to fantasize about the family Cottage and its’ ‘magical’ powers of love.

Like THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE, EVER AFTER is a story of romance without the use of graphic language, sexual imagery or sexual situations. All of the $ex scenes fade to black or are implied. The character of Ava continues to be a point of contention for this reader, as well as several of the storyline characters. Ava is a self-centred heroine who is blinded to suggestions; and in this her continued belief in the magic of the family cottage is an issue that has carried over between the first and second storyline.

All of the previous storyline characters and couples play secondary and supporting roles adding familiarity and cohesion to the story.

•••••••••

THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE / EVER AFTER is an anthology of two connected storylines in Samantha Chase’s THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE romance series. Each installment is longer than a novella but not quite a full-length story that focuses on the Callahan’s and their family cottage. The romance is light; the conflicts are self prescribed-there are no outside issues or demons from the past. If you are a reader who prefers a romance story without the graphic sexual content, then Samantha Chase’s THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE series (as well as most of Samantha’s series and books) are the perfect read for light-hearted romance and happily ever afters.

Made For Us

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / The Book Depository / BAM

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 4,2015

The Shaughnessy brothers—Aidan in particular—have spent the years since their mother’s untimely death taking care of each other and trying to make their father proud. And Aidan has managed pretty well so far. But his father is starting to worry he’s neglected himself. At the age of thirty-four, he is successful and handsome, and he still has no grandchildren!

Aidan’s met plenty of attractive women over the years, but who has the time? It isn’t until he meets Zoe, a designer on one of his jobs, that he starts realizing he wants something more.

•••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: MADE FOR US is the first installment in Samantha Chase’s adult, contemporary THE SHAUGHNESSY BROTHERS romance series focusing on ….The Shaughnessy family. This is home builder/eldest brother Aidan Shaughnessy, and designer Zoe Dalton’s storyline.

Told from third person point of view MADE FOR US follows the building relationship between Shaughnessy Construction owner Aidan Shaughnessy and decorator Zoe Dalton. When the previous designer all but destroyed Aidan’s ideas and plans for his new series of homes, Zoe is tasked with correcting the problems and appeasing an irate Aidan in the process. What ensues is a relationship that finds Aidan at a loss as to what to do next. Sixteen years earlier, the Shaughnessy family lost their mother to a drunk driving accident and in the ensuing years Aidan has become a second father to his family of five younger siblings. Aidan is a man who doesn’t like change, and with Zoe’s presence in his life, change is happening at an all too rapid pace.

MADE FOR US focuses on Aidan’s need for control-almost OCD in dynamics-Aidan doesn’t like change or mistakes. When a hurricane catches Aidan and Zoe alone in a small one bedroom apartment, sparks fly, but Aidan’s ensuing guilt finds our storyline hero running away from a future that he refuses to accept or comprehend. In the process, Aidan will lose Zoe but not before further destroying any hope of reconciliation with the woman he loves. For all of his duties and responsibilities Aidan has a difficult time letting go and it is his anxiety that affects his relationships with family and friends.

We are introduced to all of the Shaughnessy siblings: youngest and only daughter Darcy; brothers Hugh, Quinn, Riley and Owen. Patriarch Ian Shaughnessy realizes he didn’t do his family any favors allowing Aidan to become a substitute father and in the end pushes his eldest son to live his own life and forget about the rest. The local sheriff has the potential for a romantic storyline as well.

The world building centers around the Shaughnessy family dynamics; their love, their support and their co-dependent relationship with eldest brother Aidan. Ian Shaughnessy is a widower who has struggled to raise six children as a single parent but in doing so ultimately became dependent upon Aidan for his help. There is the potential for a new love interest for Ian-let’s hope something comes to fruition.

MADE FOR US introduces the Shaughnessy family with the focus on Aidan and Zoe, as well as some tumultuous interaction between Darcy and her over-protective older brother. The premise is realistic and heartwarming; the characters are colorful, energetic and expressive; the road to a happily ever after finds our hero lost and in need of direction. There is plenty of angst, drama and disquiet right from the start.

Interview

TRC: Hi Samantha and welcome to The Reading Cafe.

We would like to start with some background information. Please tell us something about yourself?

SamanthaChaseSamantha: Thank you so much for having me here today. I am an avid reader of contemporary romance – that’s one of the reasons I decided to write it. You can pretty much guarantee that you’re going to find me working on two or three books at a time while reading at least one. It’s a good thing my family is understanding!

TRC: MADE FOR US is the first release in your new Shaughnessy Brothers series. Would you please tell us something about the premise?

Samantha: What I love about this new series is how much family means to each of them. When Lillian Shaughnessy was killed, she left behind a husband and six children whose ages ranged from eighteen to ten months. And rather than this tragedy tearing them apart, it made them closer as they clung together to get through their grief. At the point that you’re going to be meeting them, seventeen years has gone by and we see how the loss of their mother still affects who they currently are.

MADE FOR US introduces us to eldest son Aidan. He pretty much took on the task of taking care of his siblings and is the one they all turn to. He’s got a construction business that pretty much takes up most of his time but he’s stayed close to home. When he meets Zoe Dalton – she’s the new designer on his job site – he begins to realize how much he hasn’t been living his life for himself. While Zoe – who is new to the area – is starting her life over after losing her mom to breast cancer.

So really, they’re two people who are at a crossroad in their lives and happen to find each other.

TRC: How many books do you have planned for the series?

Samantha: There will be six books – one for each sibling.

TRC: What challenges or difficulties (research, logistics,) did you encounter writing this particular story?

Made For UsSamantha: I think this story was probably the most REAL story – emotion-wise – that I’ve ever written. I am lucky in that I still have both of my parents, so I really had to explore how it would feel if that weren’t the case. Sometimes in a story, it’s mentioned that one or both parents are gone, but you don’t really look into how that loss can still affect you years later. I cried a lot while I was writing – and then remembered to call my parents and tell them I loved them!

TRC: How do you keep the plot unpredictable without sacrificing content and believability?

Samantha: That is never easy to do. It’s hard to come up with something new and different for exactly what you’re asking – and keeping it believable. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you do end up with a predictable plot. The only way to mix it up is – to me – by keeping the dialogue fresh. I love some good dialogue!

For this story, Aidan and Zoe get stranded together during a hurricane. Yes, stuck in a storm together has been done a million times. However, it’s what happens between the two of them during that time – the things that they say and do that aren’t all about the bedroom – is what keeps things fresh. That, coupled with thinking about your actual life and keeping yourself grounded to that and not being outlandish helps.

TRC: Do you believe the cover image plays a deciding factor for many readers in the process of selecting a book or new series to read?

Samantha: Absolutely! I know that for myself as a reader, the cover plays a huge part in my decision to purchase a book or not, but it’s not the only factor. I know there are certain authors whose books I’ll read without looking at the cover at all – I just love their work and the cover isn’t an issue. If the premise and plot sound interesting, I’ll give it a try. Hopefully other readers feel that way too.

MadeForUsGraphic

TRC: When writing a storyline, do the characters direct the writing or do you direct the characters?

Samantha: People think I’m crazy when I say it, but it is primarily the characters directing me. I can plot out a book and then find it going in a completely different direction as I’m writing it because my characters are taking me in a direction I never even thought about. I love when that happens!

TRC: Would you like to add anything else?

Samantha: Thank you so much for having me to The Reading Café today! This was great!

TRC: Thank you Samantha for taking the time to answer our questions. Congratulations on the new release and new series.

REVIEW: WAIT FOR ME is the first installment in Samantha Chase’s adult, contemporary The Montgomery Brothers romance series focusing on the Montgomery family. This is former NFL star Lucas Montgomery and executive assistant Emma Taylor’s storyline.

Emma is William Montgomery’s assistant and William sees something between his son Lucas and his long time PA. What ensues is a ruse perpetrated by Lucas’s father to push together his son and Emma Taylor that eventually ends in a happily ever after but getting there is a comedy of errors and a weekend of temper tantrums, fights and immature behavior.

Lucas is a recluse. A career ending football injury finds Lucas hiding away in a cabin in the woods where he only ventures into the real world for the once monthly meetings with his father and brothers. Lucas has pinned his entire existence on his football career and with the loss, Lucas sees himself as a failure.

Emma is a bit of an enigma. We learn very little about her background or family information. She is a woman who loves to bake and when things begin to fall apart, Emma looks for work at a small town bakery.

The relationship between our couple is acrimonious at best. I felt no spark, no sexual tension and definitely no love between Lucas and Emma, and in this the storyline fell completely flat. The up and down emotional roller coaster was almost bi-polar in its’ reveal; the attitudes and temper tantrums were that of young children who didn’t get their way. They continued to fight and argue until the final pages of the story. The $ex scenes are all implied; fade to black wherein our couple wake up the next morning or days later where the reader is to presume that something happened between the leading couple.

The secondary and supporting characters include the interfering parental units of William and Monica Montgomery who seem to have a knack for arguing and displaying emotional outbursts on a regular basis; and Lucas’s brothers, Jason and Mac who are but a blip on the radar at this point in the series. The world building is limited as the storyline focuses on the building relationship between Lucas and Emma. I am not quite sure what it is the Montgomery family do to earn their millions but it would have been nice to see some information and detail revealed.

WAIT FOR ME was a disappointing read. The constant fighting, lying and manipulation was a distraction to the overall enjoyment of the storyline. I felt no connection to any of the characters.

TRUST IN ME
The Montgomery Brothers 2
by Samantha Chase
Genre: adult, contemporary, romance
Re-release: Marcy 17, 2015

REVIEW: TRUST IN ME is the second installment in Samantha Chase’s adult, contemporary The Montgomery Brothers romance series focusing on the Montgomery family. This is Jason Montgomery and Maggie Barrett’s storyline. TRUST IN ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. TRUST IN ME can be found together with book one WAIT FOR ME

Told from third person perspective, TRUST IN ME finds William Montgomery, yet again, playing matchmaker for his two remaining unmarried sons. The storyline follows the building relationship between Jason and Maggie. Ever since his brother’s marriage to personal assistant Emma Taylor (Wait For Me #1), Jason has believed himself the target of every single woman at Montgomery Enterprises. With a three week business trip on the horizon, Jason needs a personal assistant who isn’t about to take things to a personal level-enter Maggie Barrett-a receptionist at his father’s company and a married woman-or maybe not! Maggie’s has a secret-one that finds our couple in a precarious position time and again. William offers up Maggie Barrett as Jason’s new PA, with the hopes of another successful Montgomery mating.

There is very little background information revealed about Jason Montgomery. We know he his loyal, well trusted, works for his father William Montgomery and that a bevy of beautiful and not so beautiful woman at work are trying to get Jason’s attention. Maggie is a woman whose past is mired in betrayal, and her position within Montgomery Enterprises finds Maggie hiding in plain sight.

The relationship between our leading couple is one of immediate attraction but Jason believes Maggie is married and our hero is having a difficult time keeping business and pleasure separate. While away, an opportunity presents itself for a night out on the town, wherein Maggie forgets about her ‘marriage’ and crosses the line of no return. Once again, I did not feel a connection to the couple; the sexual tension between Jason and Maggie was missing and virtually non existent. The limited $ex scenes are all implied and fade to black.

The secondary and supporting cast include Jason’s brothers Mac and Lucas, as well as William Montgomery-the family patriarch. The world building skims the business ventures of Montgomery Enterprise-I am still unsure as to the exact nature of the billion dollar business but they do appear to be very big and powerful.

Stay With Me : More of MeSTAY WITH ME / MORE OF ME
The Montgomery Brothers 3 & 3.5
by Samantha Chase
Genre: adult, contemporary, romance
Re-release: April 21, 2015

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO /

REVIEW:  STAY WITH ME is the third installment in Samantha Chase’s adult, contemporary The Montgomery Brothers romance series focusing on the Montgomery family of Charlotte, North Carolina. This is eldest brother Mac Montgomery, and childhood friend Gina Micelli’s storyline. STAY WITH ME can be read as a stand alone but for cohesion and series backstory I would suggest reading in order.

Told from third person perspective STAY WITH ME is a story about friendship, loss and letting go. Family patriarch William Montgomery likes to play matchmaker and in this, he and his best friend Art Micelli hope to see love for their two remaining children.

Gina Micelli has returned to North Carolina to take care of her dying father Art. At fifteen years old, Gina’s parents divorced and Gina was whisked across country and had rarely seen or spoken to her father since. With her return comes guilt and the knowledge that her mother’s controlling ways kept Gina distanced from her father-on purpose. As Art Micelli nears the end of his life, Gina finds herself heartbroken and in pain for a father who has never stopped loving his only daughter.

Mac Montgomery doesn’t do relationships. With his two brothers married and starting families, Mac knows that his well meaning but meddling father has one final goal to see Mac happily married. Thinking Gina’s return was more of a matchmaking set up than a father/daughter reunion, Mac denies his attraction to Gina with the hopes of pushing away the woman with whom he is falling in love.

The relationship between Mac and Gina is a friends to lovers storyline between two people who have not seen one another for years. As Gina struggles with her father’s impending death, Mac struggles with his attraction and desire. As in the previous storylines, the $ex scenes are implied and fade to black. My only wish is that more of the family history between the Micelli’s and Montgomery’s was revealed. It would have been nice to see the earlier years and the developing friendships.

All of the previous storyline characters play a supporting and secondary role. Lucas and Jason’s wives take Gina under their wings with the knowledge that Mac will come to his senses-one of these days.

STAY WITH ME is an emotional storyline especially the scene where Gina says goodbye to her father, and William Montgomery goodbye to a friend. Keep handy a box of tissues-you are probably going to need it.

MORE OF ME
The Montgomery Brothers 3.5
by Samantha Chase
Genre: adult, contemporary, romance
Re-release: April 21, 2015

REVIEW:  MORE OF ME is the fourth installment and novella in Samantha Chase’s adult, contemporary The Montgomery Brothers romance series. MORE OF ME introduces the Montgomery extended family of cousins and can be found as a bonus story in STAY WITH ME. This is Ryder Montgomery, and wedding planner Casey Peterson’s story. MORE OF ME can be read as a stand alone story without any difficulty.

Told from third person perspective MORE OF ME finds William Montgomery, once again, playing matchmaker but this time it is with his nephew Ryder Montgomery. As Mac and Gina (Stay With Me #3) prepare for their upcoming nuptials, Gina is suddenly called back home on a family emergency. Enter William Montgomery who suggests Ryder check out the wedding venues with Casey Peterson. The twist-Casey is Ryder’s ex girlfriend and they haven’t spoken to one another in a dozen years.

MORE OF ME is a second chance storyline for two people who have never stopped loving one another. Twelve years earlier Ryder left North Carolina for the West Coast where he eventually began work with the Montgomery West Coast offices leaving a heartbroken Casey to pick up the pieces of a destroyed relationship. Fast forward twelve years, where Casey finds herself working with Ryder Montgomery on his cousin’s upcoming wedding-and all of the old feelings and emotions come rushing to the surface.

There is very little angst or anxiety with the reconciliation. Casey and Ryder are now adults who know what it is to love and loss. Ryder has never stopped loving Casey and in this, he continues to apologize for his behavior, years before. The $ex scenes are all implied and fade to black. There is definitely a happily ever after for this couple.

MORE OF ME is a fun and quick read; a romantic story of reconciliation and second chances from the pen of Samantha Chase

ABOUT THE BOOK:

She dares to dream…

Summer Montgomery wants to be taken seriously almost as much as she wants her brother’s best friend, Ethan. But with a long resume of seemingly random career choices and a protective brother on watch, those things are nothing more than pipe dreams…

Does he dare to try?

Ethan Reed would like nothing more than to live by his own rules. Not wanting to disappoint his best friend Zach, or any of the Montgomerys, Ethan’s had to push his long-denied feelings for Summer aside. But it only takes one night away from watchful eyes to make impossible dreams come true..

••••••••••••••

REVIEW: MEANT FOR YOU is the fifth full length installment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult The Montgomery Brothers romance series focusing on the Montgomery family. This is Summer Montgomery, and Montgomery West Coast vice president Ethan Reed’s storyline. MEANT FOR YOU can be read as a stand alone story; many of the previous storyline characters play secondary and supporting roles therefore for cohesion and back story I recommend reading the series in order.

Told from third person point of view, MEANT FOR YOU finds William Montgomery now matchmaking for his extended family of nieces and nephews and in this there are two developing romances on the horizon. The main focus is Summer Montgomery and Ethan Reed. As Ethan and his best friend (and Summer’s brother) Zach Montgomery prepare for a mountain climbing expedition in Denali, Summer finds herself in the unenviable position of trying to convince both men that the climb is much too dangerous. Zach has never completely recovered from a recent broken leg, but he is determined to push himself against everyone’s wishes. When Ethan backs out of the excursion, Zach goes it alone with his team. Disaster will strike bringing the entire Montgomery family together, and with it the realization that the only female sibling is currently involved with the company vice president and Zach’s best friend.

Summer is an enthusiast character whose choices in life have been frowned upon by her immediate family. She is accorded no respect from her siblings and her father, Robert Montgomery, continues to dismiss Summer as though she was nothing more than an annoyance. Summer knows that she will never be offered a place in the family business, but that doesn’t mean she won’t stop trying to be successful at what it is she wants to do.

The relationship between Ethan and Summer is one of friends to lovers; Summer has been in love with her older brother’s best friend since she was a teen but Ethan has made no advances fearing his friendship and position within the company. Circumstances will bring Ethan and Summer together cementing their relationship but in doing so will build a wall between Ethan and the Montgomery family. The Montgomery men are over protective, alpha males who deem it their right to control every aspect of Summer’s life. The $ex scenes are implied and fade to black. There is no graphic language or imagery.

There is a secondary storyline building between Zach Montgomery and Gabrielle Martine. Gabrielle is Zach’s long suffering assistant and Zach treats Gabrielle more like a slave and less than human. The reader watches as Zach continues to break Gabrielle’s heart one order and command at a time. It is time Gabrielle started looking for another job.

MEANT FOR YOU is my favorite Montgomery Brother’s storyline thus far. Samantha Chase’s writing style has matured as well as her character development; there is none of the over-the-top anger and hostility found in the earlier storylines but there are still some emotional outbursts from well meaning Montgomery siblings. MEANT FOR YOU was an enjoyable read with colorful and engaging characters.

Boots vs Suits

Boots Vs. Suits Blog Tour

Which do you prefer: a romance hero that wears boots or one that dons suits? Boots bring to mind images of rough and ready cowboys and the hard muscles of a man who knows how to work with his hands. But suits … well, there is nothing like a suave and sophisticated gentleman, dressed to impressed and ready to treat his lady to an amazing night!

If you just can’t decide which type of hero is your favorite, authors Samantha Chase, Andrea Laurence, Victoria Vane, Jamie Beck and Ruth Cardello are here to help. Today they are stopping by to make their case for why you are sure to fall in love with their suited and booted heroes. Take it away ladies!

Meant For YouSamantha Chase, author of MEANT FOR YOU:

A man in suits or a man in boots…hmm. There is something to be said about each choice.  How about a man who wears a suit all day but puts the boots on at night?! On a personal level, I think I prefer a man in boots. There is just something sexy and rugged about a man who you know works with his hands. But in the perfect world of fiction, you can make your hero be a little bit of both.

One of the things that makes suit-wearing Ethan Reed from Meant For You so sexy is that he doesn’t really act like you expect him to. He’s not a womanizer, he’s not a playboy. He’s just a man who is living his life on his own terms – even when that means staying away from the woman he loves (for all the right reasons, of course). Lucky for us he knows when to lose the suit and put on the charm!

Feeding The fireAndrea Laurence, author of FEEDING THE FIRE:

I think a man in boots – firefighter boots in particular – is sexier. A fireman like Grant Chamberlain from Feeding the Fire is a real hero. He saves lives, putting his own in danger every day for creatures great and small. To me, there’s nothing sexier than that kind of selflessness.

Grant is on sale now…ehem…his story is on sale now. His story. Get it here: http://amzn.to/1I2PKyw. And head over to the author Andrea Laurence’s website to say hi! http://andrealaurence.com/

Rough RiderVictoria Vane, author of ROUGH RIDER:

With boots always comes a pair of well-fitting jeans. Statistics show that most women appreciate a nice pair of buttocks on a man. Throw in ice blue eyes he’ll make just about any woman’s pulse race.

Here’s a taste of my boots wearing hero from Rough Rider:

With her heart lurching into her throat, Janice watched as the cowboy of her dreams swaggered up to the holding pens. He was clad in ass-hugging denim with leather chaps flapping, white Stetson shadowing his ice-blue eyes, and rigging bag slung over one broad shoulder. She watched him throw his rope over the coral panel in preparation for his ride. It wasn’t just his rugged good looks that made her palms sweat, there was something about Dirk, besides his long and lanky physique that put him head and shoulders above the rest.

If you are looking for a man in well-fitting jeans, Dirk is ready for you to pick him up at your local bookstore and online here: http://amzn.to/1F16jVo. And make sure to visit author Victoria Vane on her Facebook page to ask her about more cowboys coming your way! https://www.facebook.com/victoria.vane

Untitled-5Jamie Beck, author of WORTH THE WAIT:

The question is, what doesn’t make David St. James from Worth the Wait sexy? Model-caliber good looks—check. Dior Homme suit—check. Fluent in two languages—check. But most importantly, he’s highly intelligent. A near-photographic memory combined with intellectual curiosity kind of brainpower. David can enthusiastically discuss a multitude of subjects with authority, which means the object of his affection will never be bored. I don’t know about you, but for me, scintillating conversation is one of the most stimulating things a man can offer.

If you want to “meet” David, make sure to get your copy of WORTH THE WAIT, available now: http://amzn.to/1F15ko0. And visit author Jamie Beck on her website http://www.jamiebeck.com/ for more stimulating conversation!

Tycoon TakedownAnd finally, we hear from Ruth Cardello, author of Tycoon Takedown:

Charles Dery from Tycoon Takedown is a man who knows what he wants. He’s stubborn. He wants you on his terms. He’s sexy. And if you give in to him, how he makes you feel.

He’s sexy in a suit. He’s delicious in jeans and a cowboy hat. But he’s his best with nothing on at all.

If you are getting ready to take down your own tycoon, you will want to pick up a copy of Ruth Cardello’s newest romance here: http://amzn.to/1CKVABo. And learn more about the book and Charles on the author’s website: http://ruthcardello.com/.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 2012

Any couple who spends the night in the Christmas cottage shall have love everlasting… Lacey Quinn did not believe in happily ever after or the legend of the Christmas cottage. As maid of honor for her best friend Ava, her duties included decorating the cottage for the newlyweds. It was a simple enough task, but she hadn’t counted on sexy Ean Callahan, the bride-to-be’s brother, to be assisting her. Spending the evening ensconced in the overly romantic setting while a blizzard howls outside has Lacey wondering if fairy tales really do come true…

••••••••••••••••••••

I am grinning from ear to ear after reading THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE by Samantha Chase. It starts with the legend of the Christmas cottage. When a couple spends their wedding night at this cottage, they shall have everlasting love. Well, bridesmaid Lacey doesn’t buy it, but bride Ava has a binder full of jobs that Lacey must do to get the cottage ready for her wedding. Did I mention that Ava is a Bridezilla or that I wanted to punch her in the throat from time to time? Lacey humors her lifelong best friend and drives up to the cottage to make plans. Unknown to her, her childhood crush and Ava’s brother, Ean is there and they get snowed in for the night. No spoilers here, but I think that Ean and Lacey get reacquainted really fast!

Can there be love everlasting for our two main characters? This is a beautiful love story, a romance between two people who have known each other all of the lives. There are some beautiful quotes concerning their love.

Ean has this swoon worthy thought: “Lacey Quinn owned a part of his heart that he was just now realizing had always belonged to her and he had no idea what to do about it”.

The question is, does flighty Ava end up getting married on Christmas Eve or does she have other plans? This is a love story that you need to read in one sitting, I hope that you smile along as Ean and Lacey navigate their own happy ever after!
