ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 21, 2023

Once upon a time, Monroe Sinclair was Brodan Adair’s best friend, but now he’s a stranger and one of Hollywood’s leading men…

It took Monroe Sinclair eighteen years to return home to Ardnoch after a fateful night that devastated her friendship with Brodan Adair. She fled her unrequited love for him, as well as her difficult family life, and tried not to look behind her. Only a daughter’s guilt could lure her back to the Highlands and the assumption that Brodan Adair rarely ever sets foot in their hometown. She can handle seeing the rest of the Adairs so long as she can avoid her ex-best friend and the only man she’s ever loved.

Nothing is more important to Brodan than family, and only his demons have the power to keep him from them. For years, acting was something he was lucky enough to be good at, yet it wasn’t his priority—Ardnoch and his siblings were. But when a ghost from his past returned out of the blue, Brodan tried to outrun its haunting, taking him further and further from home. When exhaustion finally forces him back to the family fold, the last thing he wants is to encounter another ghost. But that’s exactly what Monroe Sinclair has been to him.

When a promise to his nephew obliges Brodan to work with Monroe, it forces them to face their past. The explosive connection that has always existed between them resurrects truths long buried. Yet, just when they might be on the brink of a second chance, the ghost from Brodan’s past finally catches up to him and threatens not just their happiness, but their very lives.

REVIEW: ONLY YOU is the fifth (and final ?) instalment in Samantha Young’s contemporary, adult ADAIR FAMILY erotic, romance series focusing on the Adair siblings of Ardnoch, Scotland. This is thirty seven year old, actor Brodan Adair, and primary school teacher Monroe Sinclair’s story line. ONLY YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Monroe and Brodan) ONLY YOU focuses on the second chance relationship between childhood best friends actor Brodan Adair, and primary school teacher Monroe Sinclair. From an early age Brodan Adair and Monroe Sinclair were best friends; always having one another’s back, and in the case of Brodan, the consummate protector of our story line heroine. Monroe Sinclair grew up in an abusive family, and the Adairs would be there to pick up the pieces but as Brodan and Monroe reached young adulthood, Brodan became a bit of a man-wh*re, and Monroe watched from the sidelines as Brodan ventured onto bigger and better things. Eighteen years earlier, a drunken night with someone else, ripped Brodan and Monroe apart, neither one forgiving the other for destroying one another’s hearts. Fast forward to present day wherein Monroe has returned to Ardnoch as a teacher, in the wake of her mother’s surgery but never expected to come face to face with her past, a past that wants nothing to do with our story line heroine. Enter Brodan Adair, world famous Hollywood actor, and the man that is about to destroy Monroe’s heart all over again. Brodan Adair is tired of the Hollywood scene, and the result of an emotional break down finds Brodan coming home to Scotland in an effort to gain some perspective about his life going forward. What ensues is the acrimonious but rebuilding relationship between Brodan and Monroe, and the potential fall-out as the past refuses to let go, threatening our couple in the process.

Brodan Adair despises Monroe Sinclair to the point of animosity, bullying, aggression and emotional abuse. Misunderstanding and mistaken beliefs pushes Brodan to all but threaten the woman with whom he will fall in love but his disruptive and disrespectful attitude and behavior is nothing short of heart beaking, pushing Monroe to reconsider her return home. Having lived a life in fear at the hands of her abusive and neglectful parents, Monroe has no desire to live out the rest of her life, fearing the repercussions of a man who is unable to let go.

The relationship between Monroe and Brodan is a second chance; a rekindling friendship that will turn into something more but not before insults, scorn, heart break and raw emotion threaten the psyche that is out story line heroine. When Brodan is asked to help direct the local primary school play, Brodan ensures Monroe knows who is in charge, and his abhorrent behavior is enough to push Monroe out of his life. It will take plenty of grovelling from Brodan in an effort to seek forgiveness from the woman he loves but the past is determined to destroy any hopes of a happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters including all of Brodan’s siblings, their spouses and the next generation. We are reintroduced to baker Sloane Harrow, and security specialist Walker Ironside. Sloane and Walker’s story is next in BEYOND THE THISTLES, the first instalment in the Adair Family spin off The Highlands Series.

ONLY YOU is an emotional story of heart break and misunderstanding; power and control, betrayal and vengeance, forgiveness, acceptance, family and love. The premise is dramatic, intense and edgy; the romance is spirited and spicy; the characters are broken, dynamic and wounded.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 18, 2022

When event planner Hallie Goodman receives party-inspiration material from the bride of her latest wedding project, the last thing she expects to find in the files are digital videos from Darcy’s ex-boyfriend. Hallie knows it’s wrong to keep watching these personal videos, but this guy is cute, funny, and an astronaut on the International Space Station to boot. She’s only human. And it’s not long until she starts sending e-mails and video diaries to his discontinued NASA address. Since they’re bouncing back, there’s no way anyone will ever be able to see them…right?

Christopher Ortiz is readjusting to life on earth and being constantly in the shadow of his deceased older brother. When a friend from NASA’s IT department forwards him the e-mails and video messages Hallie has sent, he can’t help but notice how much her sense of humor and pink hair make his heart race.

Separated by screens, Hallie and Chris are falling in love with each other, one transmission at a time. But can they make their star-crossed romance work when they each learn the other’s baggage?

REVIEW: A COSMIC KIND OF LOVE by Samantha Young is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, romance story line focusing on thirty-five year old, US Air Force Captain and NASA Astronaut Captain Christopher Ortiz, and thirty year old, event planner Hallie Goodman.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Hallie and Christopher ) using present day and video diaries, A COSMIC KIND OF LOVE follows the building romance and relationship between thirty-five year old, US Air Force Captain and NASA Astronaut Captain Christopher Ortiz, and thirty year old, event planner Hallie Goodman. Hallie Goodman is a successful Manhattan event planner who finds herself the recipient of a series of video emails sent from Captain Christopher Ortiz, on the International Space Station, to his then fiance Darcy Hawthorne back home. Darcy is newly engaged to someone else, and is hoping Hallie will plan the events of her upcoming engagement and wedding but Darcy had unknowingly sent Hallie Captain Christopher Ortiz’s video letters to home, videos that found our heroine fantasizing about the Captain, himself. Hoping to correct any mistakes, Hallie notified Christopher’s assistant but all of her messages were returned unopened. Several months earlier Captain Christopher Ortiz returned from the ISS (International Space Station) to a less than welcoming home coming when his fiancé announced she had fallen in love with someone else but an unexpected invite to his ex’s engagement party found Christopher face to face with our story line heroine, a woman who has drawn his attention when she insisted on letting him know about the videos she had received. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Chris and Hallie, and the potential fall-out as people behind the scenes begins to manipulate our story line hero, and Hallie is caught in the middle of her parents’ toxic relationship and divorce.

Hallie Goodman is a bit of a mess; a bumbler whose accidents and antics did not endear her to her latest boyfriend. Dumped for many reasons including her choices in employment and pink hair color, Hallie places all of her focus on a successful career, a career that will push her together with the man with whom she will fall in love. Meanwhile, Hallie’s parents’ toxic relationship and subsequent divorce are pulling our heroine into the middle of their fight, a fight of which is out of control. Chris Ortiz has never been good enough for his successful father, and no matter how hard he has tried, Chris finds himself second place to his father’s business, and the brother he once loved. Meeting Hallie gave Chris a second chance at love but someone else is pulling his strings, and Christopher is caught between the woman he loves, and his inability to say no to everyone else.

The relationship between Chris and Hallie begins by accident as each finds themselves watching from the sidelines, personal videos and vlogs in which they inadvertently begin a virtual dance of attraction and love. Christopher struggles with his venomous relationship with the father he barely knows, and Hallie wants to be taken seriously for herself and her choices in life. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Christopher’s ex-fiance Darcy Hawthorne, his father Javier Ortiz, and his mother’s sister Richelle; Hallie’s long suffering parents, her father’s girlfriend Miranda, Hallie’s best friend and co-worker Althea, and their boss Lia Zhang.

A COSMIC KIND OF LOVE is a very slow building story line that does not pick up until about sixty percent of the story line has passed, when our couple finally take their relationship to the next level. The premise is captivating and entertaining; the romance is seductive; the characters are frustrated, struggling, energetic and charismatic.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 12, 2022

It was the friends-with-benefits proposition he never saw coming…

While Arran Adair might have followed the call of wanderlust in his younger years, it isn’t the reason he stayed away from Ardnoch. Home now, desperate to put the sins of his past behind him, and rebuild his life in the Scottish Highlands, Arran could never have predicted Eredine Willows. The Ardnoch Estate Pilates instructor is a complicated mystery and one Arran can’t help but want to solve.

Eredine has spent the last eight years hiding in Scotland and building walls between her and the people she cares about. Arran is the first Adair who doesn’t treat her as if she’s fragile and demands a genuine friendship. Yet, the attraction sizzling between them is undeniable. So when she realizes she trusts him, Eredine surprises them both by offering Arran one night of no-strings passion.

Arran knows one night will inevitably lead to a desire for more and he’s willing to stay by Eredine’s side for as long as it takes to convince her there’s something real between them. However, just when Arran thinks they might build a future together, Eredine’s past returns to stalk her. And Arran won’t just have to battle her demons to keep them together. He’ll need to battle his own.

REVIEW: BE WITH ME is the fourth instalment in Samantha Young’s contemporary, adult ADAIR FAMILY erotic, romance series focusing on the Adair siblings. This is thirty-six year renovation coordinator Arran Adair, and thirty-two year old, yoga instructor American Eredine Willows’ story line. BE WITH ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as events in the current time line have been triggered by events in the past.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Arran and Eredine) BE WITH ME follows the friends to lovers relationship between thirty-six year renovation coordinator Arran Adair, and thirty-two year old, yoga instructor American Eredine Willows. For months Eredine Willows and Arran Adair have been doing the proverbial dance of attraction but Eredine is hiding a secret past, and Arran struggles with secrets of his own. Offering a friends with benefits proposition Eredine is hoping to scratch an itch where it concerns our story line hero but the heart wants something more than Eredine is willing to give. As the relationship between Eredine and Arran begins to grow, the past demands reparations, targeting our couple in a deadly game of jealousy, obsession and revenge. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Eredine and Arran, and the potential fall-out as Eredine struggles to trust, and Arran battles between head and heart every time Eredine pushes him out of her life.

Eredine Willows is more or less in hiding having left America eight years earlier for a job in Scotland but Eredine’s past is on the hunt, and it is only a matter of time before Eredine and everyone she loves is exposed to the mania of a crazed man. Arran Adair has known loss, and continues to struggle in the face of grief and guilt but someone is threatening our story line hero, and the threats have now been directed towards the woman with whom Arran is falling in love.

The relationship between Arran and Eredine is a friends to lovers in which Eredine continues struggle with issues of trust. Having buried her past, Eredine is determined to keep everything a secret, a secret that if revealed could threaten everyone she loves. Arran Adair wants something more than a one-night stand, he wants Eredine as his happily ever after but does not understand why Eredine has built a wall around her heart, a wall she refuse to let anyone climb. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including all, if not most, of the Adair siblings: Lachlan and Robyn (Here with Me 1),Thane and Regan (There With You 2), Arrochar ‘Arro’ Adair, and Mackennon ‘Mac’ Galbraith (Always You 3), and brother Brodan, as well as the return of Brodan’s childhood friend Monroe Sinclair. Brodan and Monroe’s story line is next in ONLY YOU.

BE WITH ME is a story of family and friendships, relationships and love. A tale of obsession and madness, vengeance and betrayal. The fast paced, character driven premise is emotional and engaging; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are captivating and determined.

REVIEW: EMBER IN THE HEART twenty-five year old, single father and real estate investor Foster Darwin, and thirty-six year old massage therapist/business owner Ember Bonet.

Told from first person (Ember) and third person (Foster), Foster Darwin met Ember Bonet at his best friend and partner’s engagement party, an engagement to Ember’s sister Jade but the meeting between Ember and Foster didn’t go according to plan, and Ember would soon discover that her new neighbor was none other than Foster Darwin. Foster Darwin is a snob, and constantly looked down his nose at our story line heroine but when he needed help with daughter, Ember was quick to jump in and help. Falling for his daughter’s temporary ‘nanny’ was out of the question but fall he did, if only for a short period of time.

EMBER IN THE HEART is an age-gap romance wherein Foster Darwin is unable to let go of his snobbish upbringing, and in doing so, hurt the woman with whom he would fall in love. The premise is emotional and heart breaking; the romance is seductive; the characters are feisty and energetic.

REVIEW:THERE WITH YOU is the second instalment in Samantha Young’s contemporary, adult ADAIR FAMILY erotic, romance series focusing on the Adair siblings. This is thirty-eight year old, architect and single father Thane Adair, and twenty-five year old nanny Regan Penhaligon’s story line. THERE WITH YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary but for back story I recommend reading the series in order. Thane was first introduced in book one, and is the brother of Lachlan Adair; Regan is Robyn Penhaligon’s half sister (HERE WITH ME #1).

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers. If you have not read book one, there may be spoilers in my review.

Told from first person perspectives (Regan) and third person (Thane) THERE WITH YOU follows in the wake of Regan Penhaligon’s arrival in Scotland months after the attack on her sister Robyn’s life. Robyn, believing Regan is shallow and inconsiderate, struggles with her sister’s arrival, not knowing the extent of Regan’s heart break and pain. Hoping to remain in Scotland for an extended period of time, Regan applies to work as a nanny for Robyn’s future brother in law, Thane Adair, the man with whom she will fall in love. What ensues is the slow building romance and relationship between Thane and Regan, and the potential fall-out as Regan’s returns, and Thane refuses to acknowledge the proverbial elephant in the room.

Thane Adair struggles with issues of trust as it pertains to our story line heroine. Having heard too many horror stories about his future sister in law’s half sister, Thane battles between head and heart but desperate for a nanny, Thane reluctantly hires our story line heroine, only to continue to struggle at every conceivable turn. Regan Penhaligon’s preconceived reputation as undependable and unreliable is destroying her relationship with not only her family but the man that she love but Regan’s past is about to demand her return, and with it threatens all hope for a future with Thane Adair.

The relationship between Thane and Regan begins acrimoniously as Thane believes Regan is unstable and undependable but his children love our story line heroine, and with that, Thane relents to hire the woman with whom he will fall in love . Regan is immediately attraction to Thane Adair but his back and forth, up and down, hot and cold attitude is heart breaking and sad, and with it Regan has fallen in love with a man who is often guarded, angry and cold. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Thane’s children Lewis and Eilidh; his siblings Lachlan, Brodan, Arrochar, and Arran; Regan’s half sister Robyn, and her parents Seth and Stacey; Robyn’s father Mac Galbraith; neighbour Callum McCulloch; yoga instructor Eredine Willows; and Regan’s ex Austin Vale.

THERE WITH YOU is a slow-burn, heart breaking and impassioned story of family and love. The premise is dramatic, intense and compelling; the romance is emotional and sensual; the characters are broken, tragic and flawed.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 11, 2021

Settled in the tranquil remoteness of the Scottish Highlands, Ardnoch Estate caters to the rich and famous. It is as unattainable and as mysterious as its owner —ex-Hollywood leading man Lachlan Adair—and it’s poised on the edge of a dark scandal.

After narrowly escaping death, police officer Robyn Penhaligon leaves behind her life in Boston in search of some answers. Starting with Mac Galbraith, the Scottish father who abandoned her to pursue his career in private security. To re-connect with Mac, Robyn will finally meet a man she’s long resented. Lachlan Adair. Hostility instantly brews between Robyn and Lachlan. She thinks the head of the Adair family is high-handed and self-important. And finding closure with Mac is proving more difficult than she ever imagined. Robyn would sooner leave Ardnoch, but when she discovers Mac is embroiled in a threat against the Adairs and the exclusive members of the estate, she finds she’s not yet ready to give up on her father.

Determined to ensure Mac’s safety, Robyn investigates the disturbing crimes at Ardnoch, forcing her and Lachlan to spend time together. Soon it becomes clear a searing attraction exists beneath their animosity, and temptation leads them down a perilous path.

REVIEW:HERE WITH ME is the first instalment in Samantha Young’s contemporary adult ADAIR FAMILY erotic, romance series focusing on the Adair siblings of the Scottish Highlands. This is former Hollywood action hero Lachlan Adair, and twenty-eight year old, former Boston police officer turned photographer Robyn Penhaligon’s story line.

Told from first person (Robyn) and third person (Lachlan) perspective HERE WITH ME follows the building romance and relationship between former Hollywood action hero Lachlan Adair, and twenty-eight year old, former Boston police officer turned photographer Robyn Penhaligon. Approximately one year earlier, Robyn’s life on the Boston Police Force came to a grinding halt, and in the aftermath Robyn knew she had to make peace with her biological father, a man she hasn’t seen in close to twenty years but Mac Galbraith had taken a permanent position as head of security for former Hollywood action hero Lachlan Adair, and hasn’t returned stateside in a number of year. Heading to Scotland to confront the father she barely knew, Robyn would come face to face with the man with whom she would fall in love. Enter Lachlan Adair, head of the Manor, and a surly, arrogant and over protective Scottish bear. What ensues is the tempestuous relationship between Lachlan and Robyn, and the potential fall-out as Robyn, Mac and Lachlan have become targets of a twisted mind, a mind that is determined to take them all down.

Robyn Penhaligon arrived in Scotland at the same time threats against Lachlan took on a more sinister pall but when Robyn’s father Mac is caught in the middle, our heroine makes it her mission to find the person(s) responsible for threatening the lives of the people she loves. Lachlan Adair wants nothing to do with our story line heroine believing she has come to cause problems for the man he calls a brother and a friend but something about Robyn pulls at Lachlan’s heart, a heart he refuses to give to anyone else. Lachlan doesn’t do relationships, and in this, he is adamant about never wanting to fall in love.

The relationship between Lachlan and Robyn begins acrimoniously as Lachlan refuses to accept Robyn into his life, a life he believes works well just as it is but someone is stalking our story line hero, and Robyn, with her previous work in the Boston PD, makes it her mission to uncover the truth but the longer Robyn remains in Scotland, the closer our couple begin to fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including the introduction of some of Lachlan’s siblings including Brodan, Thane, Arrochar, Arran; Robyn’s half sister Regan, and her parents Seth and Stacey; Robyn’s former partner in the BPD Autry Davis; Lachlan’s exes, actress Lucy Wainwright, and make up artist Leighanne; housekeeper Sarah McCulloch, neighbour Callum McCulloch; yoga instructor Eredine Willows, as well as several former and current Hollywood stars, and numerous members of Lachlan’s staff.

HERE WITH ME is a character driven, detailed and complex story line. The premise is intriguing and twisted; the romance is intimate and provocative; the characters are spirited, tragic and edgy. HERE WITH ME is a dramatic and intense introduction to Samantha Young’s ADAIR FAMILY series.

REVIEW:THE TRUEST THING is the fourth instalment in Samantha Young’s contemporary, adult HART’S BOARDWALK romance series focusing on the men and women of Hartwell, Delaware- a spin off from the author’s ON DUBLIN STREET SERIES. This is businessman Jack Devlin, and bookstore owner Emery Saunders’ story line. THE TRUEST THING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.

Told from first person perspectives (Emery ) and third person (Jack) using present day and memories from the past THE TRUEST THING focuses on nine years and the building but contemptuous relationship between businessman Jack Devlin, and bookstore owner Emery Saunders. Nine years earlier, heiress Emery Saunders moved to Hartwell, Delaware in an effort to escape her past. Shy and withdrawn, Emery struggled to make friends and meet people but her mutual attraction with local businessman Jack Devlin was often fraught with issues of trust, and Jack’s inability to commit to their friendship or anything permanent. A scandal would rock the small town of Hartwell, Delaware throwing Jack into the lion’s den, forcing Emery to reconsider their friendship, a friendship that had more ups and downs than a hotel elevator . Years would pass as our couple battled their attraction, Jack’s need to run, and the ongoing and often heart breaking and numerous scandals that continue to plague Jack and the Devlin family but all along Emery knew there was more to the story than the gossip revealed. Fast forward to present day wherein a night of passion would leave a heart broken Emery, once again reeling, when Jack disappears without a trace. Unable to move forward without looking back, Emery pushes Jack out of her life only to discover that life was about to change for everyone involved. What ensues is the back and forth, push and pull, yin and yang relationship between Jack and Emery, and the potential fall-out as the Devlin family secrets implode, and Emery is willing to sacrifice her own happily ever after if it means never having to suffer the pain of Jack’s rejection, ever again.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of familiar secondary and supporting characters including Cooper Lawson and Jessica Huntington (The One Real Thing #1), Bailey and Vaughn (Every Little Thing #2) , Boston detective Michael Sullivan, and metalsmith / jewellery designer Dahlia McGuire (Things We Never Said #3) Iris and Ira and their daughter Ivy, who own the local Italian eatery; Cooper’s ex-wife Dana Kellerman, Sheriff Jeff King and the embattled Devlin family including father Ian Devlin, mother Rosalie, his brother Kerr, and sister Rebecca.

THE TRUEST THING is an intricate story of fractured family dynamics; of power, greed, money and control; of friendships, relationships, communication and trust. An emotional, haunting and intriguing premise, THE TRUEST THING invites the read in and never lets go. The characters are broken and tragic; the romance is passionate, raw and heart breaking.
