ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 9, 2024

She’s the most dangerous being alive…and the only one I crave.

I feel her across realms. Through the vast emptiness of space, weaving among the stars. She is the Queen of Violets. Powerful, shrewd, defiant. Utterly exquisite. Feared among her own and pursued by all.

She is the Dragon Queen.

I was an ordinary MI5 agent before being thrust into the world of Dragons Kings, Fae, Reapers, and magic. But it was a world I soon discovered I was bound to by blood from my Druid ancestors.

The instant we met, I was hers. Forever. I would have ripped the moon from the sky for her. I would have razed worlds. Then she deceived me.

Yet, I can’t stop thinking about her. Craving her. She’s in my very psyche, like a fever that burns through my veins like dragon fire. Scorching and eternal.

When I sense a malicious danger closing in around her, I defy every rule to get to her.

My love.

My queen.

REVIEW: DRAGON BORN is the eighth instalment in Donna Grant’s adult, DRAGON KINGS paranormal, fantasy romance series -a spin off from the author’s Dark Kings, which in turn is a spin off from several other fantasy series by the same author. This is Druid/ JusticeBringer Henry, and Queen of the Violet Dragons Melisse’s story line. DRAGON BORN should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events of book seven DRAGON KISS. I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise including the search for a missing King, and the history as to how the dragons came to live in Zora.

SOME BACKGROUND: For tens of thousands of years the Dragons have lived and ruled on Earth but a war between the dragons and humans forced the Dragon Kings to send the other dragons through a portal into an unknown world. Fast forward to present day, the portal has been revealed, and the Dragon Kings have been reunited in Zora, with their family and kin, but a new war is on the horizon between the Dragons, the Divine and the people of Stonemore.

Told from numerous omniscient third person perspective DRAGON BORN follows Melisse as she venture into the bramble thickets in search for a missing pink dragonling. No dragon has ever returned from within the brambles, and Henry is determined to find the woman that calls to his heart. Henry is a Druid, from a long line of JusticeBringers and Truthseekers, and in this Henry is determined to uncover the truth. Rescuing an injured Melisse finds Henry confronted by another powerful Druid, someone who is determined to destroy the dragons, one beast at a time.

The world building continues to focus on an enemy that has captured and taken prisoner a Dragon King. Much like the story line in many of the previous interconnected series, the Dragons face an enemy who is searching for revenge, the ultimate quest for power, and the take down of dragonkind.

The relationship between Melisse and Henry has been building for several story line but Melisse has refused all of Henry’s attempts at seduction, and in this, Henry is about to save the woman with whom he has fallen in love. There time together in the brambles reveals a haunting past for our story line heroine, a past filled with heart break and betrayal. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including several couples from the Dragon Kings and Dark Kings series including the return of Con and Rhi.

DRAGON BORN is a story of betrayal, vengeance and mistaken beliefs. A tale of power and control, family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is intriguing and impassioned; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are determined and dynamic.

OMEGA FOR SALE (The Sanctuary 1) by Jade Marshall -review

OMEGA FOR SALE (The Sanctuary 1) by Jade Marshall -review

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 12, 2024

I walked into The Sanctuary with one thing on my mind. Find an Alpha willing to buy me for the night and get out. I never took into account the type of Alpha who would buy an omega.

Aiden is not what I expected in the least. Neither is my time with him. But I got myself into this mess for a reason. All I have to do is survive the night and walk away with my money.

If only it were actually that easy.

••••••

REVIEW: OMEGA FOR SALE is the first instalment in Jade Marshall’s contemporary, adult THE SANCTUARY erotic, paranormal, romance novella series. This is Alpha Aiden Black, and Omega Bella’s story.

NOTE: Due tot the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person (Aiden and Bella) OMEGA FOR SALE follows Bella as she enters herself into the Omega auctions. Bella is an Omega wolf, desperate for money in the wake of her mother’s illness, but Bella is much more than an Omega, and the Alpha’s are willing to pay for a chance at our story line heroine. Enter Alpha Aiden Black. Upon his winning bid, Aiden, against the rules, is determined to make Bella his own, a determination that could see both of them imprisoned or worse. What ensues is the rapidly building relationship and proclamation of love between our story line couple as Bella and Aiden must come to terms with their new life going forward.

The world and characters building are limited. We know very little about the history of Bella or Aiden, and in this there is some information missing. Aiden is a millionaire-owner of the Sanctuary where Omegas are auctioned off to the highest bidder; all Omegas are supposedly voluntarily offering themselves for twelve hours.

The relationship between Aiden and Bella begins when Aiden is the winning bid for a night with our story line heroine. Bella is naive, young and completely out of her element; Aiden is determined to take all, including the heart of the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scenes are aggressive and energetic.

We are introduced to Aiden’s brother Zion; physician Owen, and Bella’s ailing mother Deliah.

OMEGA FOR SALE is a fast paced, quick read. The premise is dramatic and engaging; the is little to no romance-the Alpha is in charge, the Omega must obey; the characters are desperate and feel incomplete-a few more lines or paragraphs could have easily added some background and history but such is the beast that is often a novella.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 11, 2024

I played games with the wrong stranger.
Tall, powerful, and lethally gorgeous, Drazen Krylov is the ruthless boogeyman the Bratva world fears.
He’s also the masked man from the app whom I unknowingly shared my darkest, most depraved urges with.
Now the fantasy has become a nightmare.
Drazen says I did terrible, unforgivable things.
He says I owe a debt, and I’ll pay the price by pretending to be his dead wife.
I look just like her.
The thing is, I might be her…
My past is an amnesia haze of blank memories.
My future is in his hands.
My name is Taylor Crown.
At least, so I’ve been told.
And I may have married a monster.
Now, I need to remember why.

•••••

REVIEW: MONSTROUS URGES is the fifth instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult VENOMOUS GODS dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is thirty-six year old, billionaire crime lord Drazen Krylov, and thirty-three year old attorney Taylor Crown’s story line. MONSTROUS URGES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE multiple triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Taylor and Drazen) using present day and memories from the past, MONSTROUS URGES follows attorney Taylor Crown as she ventures onto the dark side, discovering the kink that she never knew she wanted, and a man who is about to control her life. Meeting a stranger on an app for those with dark proclivities, Taylor will come face to face with both her nightmares and fantasies, wrapped up in a man she knows nothing about. Taylor Crown is an enigma; a thirty-three year old woman who has no memory about the first eighteen years of her life, and in this, our heroine is about to meet a man who claims she owes him her life. Enter billionaire businessman Drazen Krylov, the man who is about to tear apart our story line heroine. Draven is demanding retribution and payment for sins of the past, sins of which Taylor knows nothing about. What ensues is the acrimonious and tempestuous relationship between Taylor and Drazen, and the fall-out as years of built up anger and vengeance are aimed at our story line heroine.

The world building focuses on Drazen’s overwhelming need to exact revenge against our story line heroine, and in doing so, takes control of every aspect of her life but Taylor is oblivious as to the who, how or why, unaware that Drazen has plans to destroy her life.

The relationship between Drazen and Taylor is unconventional; dangerous and dark; a forced relationship in the face of an abduction. Taylor will become a prisoner of the man with whom she will fall in love as Drazen struggles to understand what has happened and why. Drazen is a man with questionable sexual appetites, and Taylor is ripe for his games of cat and mouse. The $ex scenes are provocative and dark, with numerous scenes of disturbing CNC (consent/non-consent) and aggression.

We are reintroduced to attorney Gabriel Black, and attorney Fumi Yamaguchi (Poisonous Kiss); Eloise and Alistair Black (Devious Vows); Fumi’s brother Kenzo, and Drazen’s right hand man Milos. There are several powerful and dangerous Bratva cameos-the requisite evil has many faces.

MONSTROUS URGES is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance; hatred and obsession; secrets and lies, acceptance and love. The premise is dark, dramatic and intense; the characters are desperate, charismatic, and twisted; the romance is limited -I did not feel any palpable sexual attraction, there was only a need to hurt and be hurt.

Heed my WARNING-the triggers are numerous, brutal, haunting- a cautionary suggestion to be prepared.

A standalone age-gap, dad’s best friend’s hockey romance.
There’s no one more off limits than my best friend’s daughter.

Peggy Aurora Hammerstein. The Toronto Terror’s unofficial team princess. I would never do anything to mess with our team dynamics this late into the hockey season, but seeing her work in the front office changed something for me.

I see her as she is now: a powerful woman with ambition for miles.
When I hold her against me, she fits perfectly.

Her little flirts and taunts push my buttons, if she doesn’t stop–my control just might break.
But I can never cross that line. I can never know what it could be to call her mine.

I’ve never wanted anyone more than Aurora and no one can ever know.

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

•••••••

REVIEW: BRUTAL POWER is the third instalment in BB Hamel’s contemporary, adult BIANCO CRIME FAMILY erotic, Mafia romance series set in the author’s ROSSI CRIME FAMILY world. This is thirty-five year old attorney and head of the Irish Crime Family Brody Quinn, and Mafia princess Elena Bianco’s story line. BRUTAL POWER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Elena and Brody) BRUTAL POWER follows the arrange marriage between our story line couple. Brody Quinn is the new head of the Irish Crime Family, and in an effort to secure power and position, makes a deal with Don Simon Bianco, including asking for his sister’s hand in marriage. Elena and Brody have never met, and in this, another threat from within, forces a marriage within days but someone else is determined to take control, and Brody is about to place himself in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Brody and Elena, and the potential fall-out as family history and secrets threatens the Bianco family while Brody continues to work behind the scenes.

The world building follows Brody as he puts a plan into motion to take control but all is not as it appears to be, and Brody finds himself working with the Bianco’s in an effort to take control.

The relationship between Brody and Elena begins as an arranged marriage. Elena wants a marriage in name only but quickly discovers there is more to Brody than a brooding head of the Irish Mob. As their relationship continues to grow, Brody must make concessions to keep his new wife happy. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, although only used once, it felt unnecessary.

All of the previous story line couples and family members return including Simon and Emily; Davide and Stefania, Laura, Elena, and their parents Alessandro and Freddie. We are introduced to Brody’s large extended family: Seamus, Nolan, Molly, Declan, Caitlin, and their mother Orla Quinn: crime boss Luciano Santoro, and dirty cop Luca Moretti.

BRUTAL POWER is a story of secrets and lies, twists and turns, power and control, betrayal and obsession, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing, captivating and engaging; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate, dynamic and powerful.
