ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 16, 2020

He was the reprobate king of Dayton high. I was the bitter princess cast out of my kingdom. And we were at war.

It started off with a lie, and a one-night stand gone terribly wrong. Although I knew nothing good would come from my encounter with Bellamy West, the small town’s gorgeous bad boy, I didn’t expect him to throw jet fuel onto the already flaming wreckage of my life. Then step back with a sexy smirk on his face to watch me burn.
And burn I did…

He got me fired.
I got him arrested.
We were enemies until we weren’t. Until one touch went too far, and I found myself craving each dirty word. Every filthy promise.
Bellamy West was no good, and I wanted to be bad.

Screw falling for Prince Charming, I wrote my love story with the villain.
And for that, I paid.

REVIEW:Take a seat and get comfortable readers, this book is going to take you on an adventure that you won’t soon forget. Stevie J Cole and LP Lovell sure know how to write the bad boys that I can say for sure, Bellamy and the guys of Dayton are rough and tumble, down and dirty, bad boys.

Dayton High welcomes the new girl on the block, Drew. The rich girl with Daddy issues didn’t know what she was in-store for at the new school, but Bellamy sure wasn’t it. Drew, however, isn’t your typical spoiled princess rich girl, she’s as strong as they come and doesn’t take crap from anyone, hence why her father has dropped her at Dayton as a form of punishment. When Bellamy and Drew first meet its an explosion of chemistry and fire, they have such different personalities that it’s truly fun to read them interact.

As the story progresses, we start to get more and more of what makes Bellamy tick, we see his goodness and heart. By the end of this book, if you don’t lose a part of your heart to him lol then well, read it again. As an avid reader, I got everything I wanted in this book, drama, friendship, self-growth, love and just enough steam to make you want more. 4 stars to the authors for this great fall read!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 5, 2020

She thought he was just a cocky, spoiled rich kid. She had it so very wrong.

But what started as disdain quickly grew into something so much more. He went from being the boy she hated to the man she loved with all her heart. Then he left without so much as a goodbye, leaving her shattered.

Jensen Rose didn’t have much good in his life. That was until he stumbled on a ray of light standing in the middle of his bedroom. He had to have her, and once he did, he loved her with every single piece of himself. But when his past threatened to rip them apart, he did the only thing he could think to protect her. He walked away.

When he returned to Redemption, Tennessee, it was with every intention of winning back the love of his life. But she’s not giving in without a fight.

And this is a battle he intends to win

•••••••

Sandy’s REVIEW: BITTERSWEET is the third instalment in Jessica Prince’s contemporary, adult REDEMPTION romance series focusing on the people who live and work in Redemption, Tennessee. This is twenty-six year old, former US soldier and security specialist Jensen Rose, and twenty-four year old, single mother Shane Hendrix’s story line. BITTERSWEET can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Shane and Jensen) using present day and memories from the past, BITTERSWEET follows the second chance romance between twenty-six year old, former US soldier and security specialist Jensen Rose, and twenty-four year old, single mother Shane Hendrix. Approximately five years earlier, high school sweethearts Jensen and Shane had their entire future implode when a then twenty-one year old Jensen Rose disappeared without a trace, leaving a pregnant Shane Hendrix to pick up the pieces of her broken heart. Fast forward to present day wherein Jensen Rose, now a security specialist with Elite Security is hoping to reconnect with the woman he loves, and the son he never knew but secrets from the past are about to be exposed, revealing the truth about what happened years before. What ensues is the rekindling romance and relationship between Jensen and Shane, and the potential fall-out as their son is about to become collateral damage I a war of the Roses.

Jensen Rose grew up in a well-to-do but abusive family, and in the ensuing years Jensen had separated himself from the family he disowned. Returning to Redemption, Tennessee gave Jensen a hope for another chance with the woman he loves until the truth is exposed pulling Jensen back into the life he was hoping to forget. Shane Hendrix and her brother Stone had been abandoned by their mother years before, and in the ensuing time Shane was raised by her Aunt Caroline and Uncle Scooter when her brother left Redemption, without looking back. Falling in love with Jensen Rose meant a future with the man that she loved but Jensen’s disappearance threatened to push Shane over the edge.

The relationship between Jensen and Shane is one of second chances; a relationship between two broken souls who found one another at a time when they needed it the most but all was not well in our hero’s life, and walking away was the hardest thing Jensen would ever have to do. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Farah Highland and Cannon Banks (Bad Alibi #1), Jase Hyland and Poppy Weston (Crazy Beautiful #2); Shane’s brother Gavin ‘Stone’ Hendrix, their Aunt Caroline and Uncle Scooter; Elite Security specialist Gage Langdon, and Laeth Harker; Jensen’s parents Whitman and Cordelia Rose; Shane’s former friend Rina, and school bully Ronny; and Shane and Jensen’s son Brantley.

BITTERSWEET is a story of drama and abuse; betrayal and vengeance; second chances, family and love. The premise is emotional and heart breaking; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are edgy, broken but healing.

________

Sarah’s REVIEW:  Bittersweet is the third book in the Redemption series by the fabulous Jessica Prince. This is such a long-awaited book for me, and such a good read. As a series, I do recommend reading the first two before reading Bittersweet, I feel that you get the back story a little better after reading the books in order.

That being said Shane is one of the best characters I have read before, she loves her son more than anything and does everything to make sure the little guy is happy and whole. She is a force of nature and I couldn’t wait for her to get her happy ending. Jenson on the other hand, I had mixed feelings. Yes, the man has issues, yes he has a past, but even so he left his child. That was a turn off. I really loved seeing them reconnect and work through their issues. You can tell right off how much they still love and care about one another, they just don’t know how to get past the hurt they each have.

As always Jessica Prince will draw out every emotion you think you know, then times that ten times. I cried like a baby when reading this and that in my opinion is what makes a great book, a story that brings out real emotions. Five out of Five stars, such a fantastic read!

“Sure you’ve noticed already, but it looks like big brother wants to rip your organs out through a hole he’s plannin’ to punch in your chest.”

I turned to look over my shoulder toward the section I knew Shane’s family would be sitting in, along with their other friends. They never sat anywhere else but at the pool tables whenever they came in. And sure enough, Stone Hendrix was looking at me exactly how Gage had described.

The dude had about two inches on me and a couple pounds worth of muscle. Every inch of his beefy arms was covered in colorful ink in intricate designs, only making him look even more menacing than he already did.

I’d only met the man twice back when Shane and I were together, but it had been enough for the dude to scare the absolute piss out of me. Now, not so much. I hadn’t been in a fight in years, but that didn’t mean I’d gotten rusty. If anything, with the skills I’d picked up during my time in the service, I was even better at it than I had been back then. It was just that I had my anger issues in check now.

I looked to his left and spotted Scooter sitting next to him—only slightly smaller but no less threatening—looking at me with the same scowl. Instead of turning away, I jerked my chin up, letting them know I wasn’t going to be intimidated into leaving. They knew why I was here. Hell, everyone in Redemption knew. I was here to get my family back, and I wasn’t going to let anyone get in the way of that.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release September 29, 2020

There’s a house in Cambria with no phone, no internet, no connection to the outside world.
Dante and Mandy are stuck there together.
He needs a live-in assistant.
She needs a place to hide.
If she gives him total obedience, he’ll do everything in his power to clean up the mess she made back home. Anything less than unquestioning compliance, and she goes back to LA humiliated.
Those are the rules.
Take them or leave them.
Mandy figures she can do Dante’s menial tasks for awhile. Do what he says until the heat dies down.
She has no idea how hot it’s going to get until he tells her she has to do them on her knees.

•••••••

REVIEW:Crowne Rules by CD Reiss follows her work to the T, fiery connection between two people that just can’t help themselves. Dante has to be one of the most interesting characters as a Dom I have read about in some time, and Mandy is a hoot all on her own. Together they start a story that was beyond awesome to read.

Dante most definitely follows in Byron and Logan’s way of life, and if you haven’t read these stories, I would recommend them first. They are a great way to start the CD Reiss world off, but not a MUST read to adventure into Crown Rules.

Dante is wrapped up in his past, and for good reason, but the chance encounter with Mandy leads him on a path neither of them were prepared for, but both are eager to explore it. Their chemistry is so smoking hot, their connection even more so and the amount of emotion you will experience in this book is off the chain. 4.5 star recommend to readers, can’t wait to see what comes next.

As I scraped the last of the ice cream out of the corners, lightning flashed.
Looking up, I noticed steam curling out of the bathroom door.
One Samanda.
Two Samanda.
Three—
Thunder cracked, and the water heater had probably done its job by now.
When the water was so hot I could barely touch it, I plugged the tub and rooted around under the sink, finding a box of squat, white candles and a lighter and a red satin bag of bath bombs. I lit the candles and tossed a couple of bombs into the water, then threw in another for good measure.
When the waterline was near the top, I shut off the faucet.
My phone had been completely useless for miles already, and if there was Wi-Fi in the house, it was off, but I could still play music. I threw together a playlist of songs with a “fuck him” theme, put headphones on, and settled in, letting the line of scalding heat envelop me to the neck.
Arms floating, I let the music take me away, singing along with a song about heartbreak and renewal, unable to hear my voice as much as feel it against the sobbing soreness of my throat.
He broke my heart
When I was so nice
Forget that asshole
I mean it, girl
Forget him twice
I belted it out not to the bathroom tiles, but to the Renaldo in my mind. He was begging to have me back, and I was toying with him, asking, “Why?” Why did he promise to leave his wife only to humiliate me? Turn me into an object of public disdain only to get on his hands and knees and literally kiss my feet?
Not just him, but Caleb, who’d treated me like trash for years, and every guy after him who dumped me and then strung me along so they could dump me again.
In my fantasy, I was telling them about all the other guys I was fucking and how little I cared about any of them. I was walking away from some faceless stud, sated and satisfied and totally unattached. I was never, ever going to get hurt again, and every time I started to cry again, I sang louder.
“No, no, no-no!” I chanted with the music, waving my finger at my imaginary lover. “You ain’t that…”
The lights went out, and I practically leapt out of the tub in shock, sliding my headphones away from one ear. A moment later, I realized what must have happened, and surprise turned to exasperation. Because, of course, this goddamn house couldn’t stand a thunderst—
“Hello?” A man’s voice came from the darkened doorway.
In a crouch, dripping wet, with female empowerment in one ear and his question in the other, I grabbed something, anything, in the dark and came up with a shampoo bottle.
“I know tae kwon do,” I said in the general direction of the voice, standing up to wield the plastic bottle.
“I’m sure.” The lights went back on with a click, and I could see the source of the voice.
Fuck.
Dante Crowne. Gray raincoat glinting with droplets of water, finger on the light switch, looking down at me from the top of Mount Six Foot Four. All the Crowne men had light eyes, but Dante’s were deeper set and the iciest blue I’d ever seen.
“Hello, Amanda.”
“It’s Mandy,” I said, pulling the headphones around my neck and lowering the shampoo.
His gaze followed the poorly chosen weapon and took a circuitous route back upward by way of the naked triangle between my legs, my belly, my breasts. When his eyes landed on mine, there was desire there, but I could tell by the way he tightened his mouth that it was an easily dismissed interloper and not something he wanted to act on.
“Logan said you’d be here,” he said.
He wasn’t going to apologize for scaring me half to death and then checking me out without even admiring the view?
“Well, he didn’t warn me about you,” I said.
Lightning flickered, and I held my reply for the whipcrack of thunder one Samanda later.
“Clearly,” Dante scoffed, looking my nudity over again.
I turned for the towel, catching sight of myself in the mirror. I was splotched in patches of bubble. South America drifted down my hip.
Dante grabbed the towel and handed it to me, eyes respectfully averted. I took it slowly, daring him to look again, and he took me up on the challenge, letting his gaze fall all over my body like a steamer pushed under a dress to relax the creases in every corner.
“Logan sends his apologies, but this house is mine,” Dante said as I wrapped the white towel around myself. “And I need to use it this weekend.”
“Your brother said it was a family house.”
“Hm.”
After the one syllable, he turned and left me alone in what was apparently his bathroom.

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestselling author. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping a single cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 29, 2020

The Montgomery Ink: Boulder series concludes with a fake relationship where the heat and emotional connection are anything but false.

The moment Madison McClard’s parents tell her that her ex is getting married, there’s no getting out of their latest scheme. One moment she’s trying to get out of their clutches. The next, they’re telling her exactly who she’ll marry to save the family name. The one thing her parents don’t count on, however: Aaron Montgomery.

Aaron Montgomery didn’t mean to lie. Still, as soon as he overheard Madison’s dilemma, the words fell out of his mouth. Now, he’s fake engaged to a woman he barely knows, who also happens to be his new brother-in-law’s cousin.

As the deception mounts, so does the attraction. They told themselves it was only a ruse, but as feelings ramp and dangers surge, this Montgomery may have just met his match.

He simply has to fight to keep her.

•••••••

REVIEW:Seduced in Ink is the next in the Montgomery Ink Boulder series, and what a funny adventure this one is. This book can be read as a standalone, but it’s always best to read a series in order in my personally opinion. Ms. Carrie Ann Ryan has gifted us with a lovely story of a woman learning herself and seeing her family in a different light. A story that is sure to make you scream in anger and laugh at the funny in the next moment.

In this grand adventure we meet Madison, a sassy business owner of a sinful bakery and alpha hottie; Aaron, the famous artist. Madison is under the thumb of her horrid parents, who now want to marry her off to a total stranger. Now be warned now readers, Madison’s parents are going to make you want to spit, but grin and bare it, the story must go on. Aaron is a family friend and in the attempt to help Madison out from the viper tongue of her Mother, comes up with the grand plan to tell everyone that they are engaged.

That’s right, a fake engagement.

Over the course of the book, Madison and Aaron navigate the waters of a fake relation that feels anything but fake. From sassy exchanges with Madison’s horrible parents, a weird man that her Mother keeps trying to “sell” her to that give her the creeps and hot nights that fuel hot dreams, Madison and Aaron wormed their way right into my favorite couples list! 4.5 stars for the lovely author.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 18, 2020

Paris Trissel is in a dating rut. Despite the pact she made with her friends to find someone to share her life with, she’s throwing in the towel after only a few blind dates. Add in the fact that the new hire at the job she used to love happens to be the Brady brother she can’t stand, and Paris is having a terrible year.

Prior Brady’s life seems pretty perfect from the outside. He has a wonderful, caring girlfriend, a family he’s never been closer to, and a new job he can’t wait to sink his teeth and talents into. Too bad the woman he has to work with for hours a day hates him on sight.

Once the two are forced to find the balance between chemistry and temptation, however, they’ll realize they’re stronger together than apart. Except when Paris’s past comes back with a vengeance, bringing terror, pain, and horror with it, both she and Prior will have to lean on each other.

In more ways than one.

•••••••••

REVIEW:From That Moment is the second in The Promise Me series by the lovely Carrie Ann Ryan. Now while this can be read as a standalone, I personally recommend reading the first in the series; Forever Only Once first.

From That Moment is an enemy to lover, sexy romance that is sure to capture the hearts and minds of its readers. Reading this book left both a smile on my face and a yearning in my belly. The Brady brothers are an awesome series to read, and I can’t wait to see what happens next with the pack.

Prior Brady is a nerd, a hot nerd, but a nerd just the same. He takes a six month position at another company to get away from his regular day to day management, and what does he find?

Paris Trissel.

That’s right, THAT Paris. The Paris his brother’s woman calls a friend. Paris who Prior will now be working with for the next six month. For Paris life hasn’t been easy, she has a past that still haunts her to this day. She surrounds herself with work and the few trusted people she calls friends, and has clawed her way up from the bottom. Paris loves her job and won’t let the “good ole boys” and their trash talk get her down, from the drama of horrible coworkers and now fighting her growing attraction to Prior…

Paris is in for a change. When her past comes screeching back into her life, trying to uproot all the good she now has, can Paris trust in the growing relationship she and Prior have or will her past drag her back down.

5 out of 5 star review, I really loved Prior and Paris together, their attractions, their love, the way they interact together is all so awesome!!

ABOUT THE BOOK: I never knew. One minute I was flying high and the next I came crashing down so harshly the world shattered.
It was all a lie.
But then he came.
He came with his dark eyes and his cutting words and his cruel, cruel stare. Grayson Rothburg. Recluse. Genius. Truth speaker.
My friend, Gray.
My real.
My hero in disguise.
He says I should move on. Change. And now he’s offered me a diversion, a way to help me re-evaluate what’s left of me.
The trouble is, I don’t know how real that is either.
And I’m not sure I care.

•••••••••

REVIEW: A Distraction of Lies is the first in a new series by Charlotte E. Hart, and boy is it a whooper! Dark and mysterious, this is my first dive into Hart, and what can I say other than WOW.

Hannah Tanners life hasn’t been a cake walk, it hasn’t been much of anything really, but enough that she catches the eye of Grayson Rothberg. Grayson a keep to himself type of man, a loner and blunt to a fault, a man who is so intense it sets Hannah’s skin to prickle. What he offers her is something she has always wanted. A chance to learn about herself, to learn, to see, to find out what she really is…or at least what she could be.

This book left me with so many questions by the end, and that cliffhanger! There is so much heat in this book that I was so unsure what was going to happen next. It definitely keeps you guessing, the mystery of Gray is sure to feed into the next book. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book!

*Trigger warning for some. There are some mild elements of abuse. Definitely a dark story line.*

A TORMENT OF SIN
Truth and Lies #2
by Charlotte E Hart
Release Date: June 17, 2020
Genre: adult, contemporary, erotic,dark, romance

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk / Amazon.au /

ABOUT THE BOOK:

My own refusal to leave brought me to this moment.
Pain is not a lie.
And there he stands, watching, waiting.
Everything seems surreal under his scrutiny. Or maybe that’s just this castle and it’s dark, obscure walls where time is endless. It’s distorted and murky, and yet more real than anything has ever been.
My friend Gray.
Not just a hero anymore, but a need.
And I’m consumed by that need.
I’ll dwell in this reality with him until I’m either lost or found.
Broken or evolved.

••••••••

REVIEW: A Torment of Sin by Charlotte E. Hart is the second in the Truth and Lies Series. This book picks up right where the first book left off with Hannah and Gray. A Torment of Sin is the perfect title for this unconventional tense read. It’s dark, it’s sexy, it’s deep and scary, but more it makes one crave for more.

In book once we get Hannah and everything that makes her who she is. In this one all I wanted was more of Gray. Who is he? What makes him tick? Why is he the way he is? Where did the pain he carry come from? A Torment of Sin delivers a whole new world to the BDSM scene, one that I don’t think I was completely prepared for, but one I couldn’t put down.

Hannah finds she is asking more from Gray, more of him than he is willing to share that is. He gave her the distraction she needed so badly, but now she wants real. Grayson however, has spent his life alone, planned it that way, made it that way to fan the flames of his own pain. The attraction between Hannah and Grayson is strong, and it takes everything he has to resist it. Can he keep his walls up? Does Gray need Hannah as much as she needs him? What about his past?

*Deep breath*

I have never had so many questions about a book before in anything I have ever read. Grayson is a surly, lonely man with a hard past he wants to forget. His past is causing my imagination to spiral out of control; what happened to cause that amount of pain and why is he that way? It’s like finding a really good-looking book, but not knowing what the story inside contains. The next book is going to be the best of the series, that I know already.

*Trigger warning for both graphic scenes and BDSM*

A SORROW OF TRUTHS
Truth and Lies #3
By Charlotte E Hart
Release Date: August 12, 2020
Genre: adult, contemporary, erotic, dark, romance

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk / Amazon.au /

I’m alone. Singular. Evolved.
Yet left behind and abandoned.
I should have known. I did know. But he whispered words and held me, making my heart feel something other than the false reality we were in.
Tap, tap, tap.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Those rhythms were not a lie.
And now I’m torn between staying under Malachi’s roof, letting reality outside pass me by, or returning to life beyond this fractured space to find his hidden truths.
My friend Gray. My lover.
The heart he’s ripped open again beats too loudly for me to ignore.
And my need still consumes me.

•••••••••

REVIEW:A Sorrow Of Truths is the third book in the Truth and Lies series by Charlotte E. Hart. This picks right off where the second book; A Torment of Sin leaves off, so I do recommend reading the first and second books before starting this one.

A Sorrow Of Truths picks up again with Gray and Hannah, their drama is fierce as their passion, but the pain and secrets of their pasts are holding them back. In this final book, we learn Gray’s secrets, what makes him the way he is, why he is and what he is willing to do to keep Hannah.

I was not ready for this series to end, I love these characters and because of this, I don’t want to spoil anything for other readers. Just know this series is well worth the read, and the emotion you will feel when reading it.
Hannah finally gets the answers she so needs from Gray, she learns to understand him better and then she must decide if he is really what she wants. This story is dramatic and chaotic, hot and sexy and tearful. Charlotte has outdone herself with this series.

*Trigger warning again, this is a DARK romance, be aware before reading, also can be read on Kindle Unlimited*

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 21, 2020

“Love cannot live where there is no trust.” — Edith Hamilton

I’m just a simple girl from a poor background, who loves with all her heart and has the best of intentions. Falling in love with Cash Delacorte was never a life goal. The former gang leader turned ruthless billionaire holds all of my power. He owns me—body, soul, and bank account.

The problem? I like it. I crave his touch in the dark of night. I long to hear his whispered dirty words in my ear when we make love. Most of all, I trust him to do what’s right for me. Because that’s what we do when we’re in love, right? We trust the wrong people. We make bad decisions. And we sacrifice our souls to make them happy.

Now, with the FBI breathing down our necks and a million dollars in stolen jewels on the line, the power rests in my hands. One word from me can bring Cash’s empire crashing down around him. Does he trust me enough to save us both or will his need for power ruin the only love I’ve ever known?

REVIEW:Absolute Trust is the second in the Power series by Jeana E. Mann. This one picks up right where the killer cliffhanger left us in the last book; Absolute Power. I do highly recommend reading that book before reading this one, there is so much that happens that you will not really get if you don’t.

Normally I have a hard time reading stories that continue in more than one book, but with Jeana, her stories captivate your mind and they get better and better as you go. This one is just like that. Cash and Jagger are two halves of the same coin, better with each other, and hard to deny each other.

Absolute Trust is a fast paced, easy to read story that will have you flipping page after page to see what happens next. How will he evade the cops? The FBI? This story will keep you guessing until the very end. I think my favorite part about the badass, Alpha Cash is how he slowly starts to open up to Jagger. His walls come down just a little and we can see the person he truly is.
Five out of five stars for this thrilling read. As always Jeana writes a wicked awesome book!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 6, 2020

After a bitter divorce had left him jaded and cynical, Leo Drake thought he was done. To him, love and happiness were myths. Then the shy, sweet, coffee shop owner looked up at him with those big gray eyes and beautiful smile, and he was done for.

Danika Parrish had been the nerdy girl growing up. The girl who sat in her window, watching the boy across the street, and secretly longing for the day when he might notice her. When that day finally came, she was convinced all her dreams had come true. But after giving her everything she’d ever hoped for, he’d ripped it all away with a handful of words.

Leo’s made a lot of mistakes in his life, but the one he regrets most is hurting Danika. For the first time in his life, he knows what it feels like to love someone, to truly be happy, and he’ll do whatever it takes to win her back. He’s determined to prove to her that he’s worth a second chance. That he’s the forever she’s been waiting all her life for.

Sandy’s Review

WAITING FOR FOREVER is the eighth instalment in Jessica Prince’s contemporary, adult HOPE VALLEY erotic, romance series focusing on the town of Hope Valley. This is thirty-six year old, detective Leo Drake, and thirty four year old bakery owner Danika Parrish’s storyline. WAITING FOR FOREVER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Danika and Leo) WAITING FOR FOREVER follows the building romance and relationship between thirty-six year old, detective Leo Drake, and thirty four year old bakery owner Danika Parrish. Growing up Danika Parrish fell in love with her neighbour Leo Drake but high school proved that Danika was not part of the in-crowd, and Leo Drake knew nothing about our storyline heroine. Marrying his high school sweetheart, Leo moved away never to be heard from again. Fast forward to present day wherein Leo, now a divorced father of two, has moved back to Hope Valley following his father’s stroke. Frequent trips to the local bakery found Leo dreaming about the woman that caught his eye, a woman he no longer remembers but seems familiar, all the more. Enter bakery owner, and Leo’s former neighbor Danika Parrish, and the woman with whom Leo will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Leo and Danika, and the potential fall-out as issues of trust and the small town rumor mill work overtime to destroy their burgeoning love.

Danika Parrish has lusted after Leo Drake for as long as she can remember but our heroine ran in different circles, and was often the target of high school bullies including Leo’s former wife. Growing up in Hope Valley gave our heroine a sense of purpose but Leo’s return brought with it memories from the past, a past Dani was hoping to forget. Leo Drake was never happy in his marriage, and a divorce and return to Hope Valley meant a new start for our story line hero. Meeting Dani Parrish gave Leo a hope for a new future but old habits die hard, as the rumor mill in Hope Valley have Leo questioning his relationship with Danika Parrish.

The relationship between Leo and Danika is one of immediate attraction but Leo does not remember Dani from years before. Bullied by Leo’s now ex-wife, Danika struggles with what was and what will never be, and the ongoing humiliation by said ex-wife, and obliviousness of our story line hero. Leo wants to keep their relationship a secret but prying eyes, miscommunication and issues of trust force our couple out into the open, exposing our heroine to ridicule and scorn. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples. We are introduced to Dani’s parents; Leo’s children Hardin and Macie, his father Jed, and Leo’s ex-wife Whitney.

WAITING FOR FOREVER is a story of family and friendships; of bullies and humiliation; of love and pain; of heart break, forgiveness and happily ever after. The premise is emotional and inviting; the romance is sexy and spicy; the characters are energetic and fun.

Sarah’s Review

Jessica Prince; Goddess Divine, has gifted us with book eight in the Hope Valley Series, Waiting for Forever. I love the entirety of the Hope Valley series, so if you haven’t read it, I do recommend reading them in order, you can however read it as a standalone.

Waiting for Forever is a classic story with a sweet twist that will wrap you up and never let you go (not that you would want too). Shy, nerdy girl falls in love with the cute neighbor boy, life happens and years later they meet again as new people.

Nerdy girl next door, Danika “Dani” Parrish falls in love with the boy next store. Meeting as children, but never really knowing one another. Dani is shy, and awkward as a child, then a teenager, but finally as an adult grows into the person she is meant to be. Kind, loving, giving, but still shy, and still holding on to that crush on the boy next store. Dani opens her own shop, the most popular bakery in Hope Valley, she has her friends, her family and her bakery. A normal little life, but alone. Little does she know, life is about to change.

Leo Drake. High school hottie, prince of the school, married his high school sweet heart and gets his dream job as a cop. Life was good, or at least he thought that was it was meant to be. After ten plus years in an unhappy marriage, Leo finally divorces his hateful, mean wife and moves on to greener pastures. After getting his kids settled, and life as normal as they can make it, Leo visits the famous “Muffin Top”. Nothing prepared him for the woman behind the counter, nothing prepared him for Dani.

I can’t express how much I not only love this book, but this entire series! I get major Kristen Ashley vibes reading it, but it also gives the reader a warm happiness while reading it. A contemporary love story of first love, loss, pain and forgiveness. You will laugh, you will cry over the sweet, rage at the bad, swoon at the naughty and even want to kick Leo’s booty for a little while, but you will LOVE it. It’s a Taylor Swift song, rolled in sugar, coated in sprinkles and dipped in the naughtiest chocolate. Five out five star!!

We were both sweaty and panting like we’d just run a marathon. Releasing my breast and hip, he reached for my hands and gently pried my fingers from the headboard. I would have collapsed onto the mattress in a sated heap had it not been for him holding on to me and guiding me down slowly.
Once there, he turned me to my back and hovered over me, his fingers coming up to brush the damp hair from my forehead.
“You okay, sweetheart?”
I gazed up at him, sure my grin was totally goofy as I replied, “So okay.”
The harshness that had been carved into his expression when he first entered the room was now completely gone, in its place was a look so tender and so warm it made my heart expand.
“Thank you for that,” he said quietly, leaning in to run the tip of his nose along mine.
“Pretty sure I’m the one who should be thanking you. After all, you did most of the heavy lifting.”
He chuckled for a second before his expression grew serious. “I mean it, Danika. I needed that. I needed you. That’s the brand of sweet only you’re capable of giving me because it’s just how you are.”
It had to be said that I really liked hearing that in a seriously big way

Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom.
Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance.
When she’s not nose deep in her next manuscript, you can usually find her with her kindle in hand.
