REVIEW: Mafia Wars: New York has a new addition to its series; Carnal, the fourth installment to the saga.

Once I started reading Tristano and Pina’s story I knew I wasn’t going to be able to put it down until I finished it. They were simply meant to be. Tristano may be the baby of the Marino brothers, but he is a grown adult man that has found his one. Pina is the perfect match for him as well, head strong and willful, she goes toe to toe with him at every turn, never taking his stuff.

This one truly does have it all, it was like watching an old 90’s soap opera, there was love, kidnapping, people almost dying, fighting, and of course lost memories. Toss in the right amount of smut and there you go, perfect mix for one of the best mafia romances. Maggie Cole is a new favorite for me!

REVIEW:Maggie Cole writes dark romance that readers will not likely forget. As a first time reader to Cole, I was hooked on the Mafia Wars story from the first word. Dante Marino is everything you would want a dark romance alpha to be, seductive, obsessive and dangerous.

Dante and Bridget ‘s story is one of emotional turmoil, heartbreak and passion, their ordeals make them who they are and what makes them so awesome to read. The story is engaging and well written, I’m interested in seeing where Cole goes next with this series.

REVIEW:Immoral is book two in the Mafia Wars: New York Saga and continues on with Cara and Gianni. This series is a dark romance series with triggers, I recommend all readers make note before reading.

Cara and Gianni have been together off and on for almost two decades, but Gianni has never had it in him to settle down. Finally, Cara breaks and leaves. Thinking she is moving on to better things, Cara finds herself instead, needing rescue and Gianni is the one to do it.

Finding Cara up for sale at an auction has Gianni’s protective instincts thriving. After he gets her back, he is determined to keep her, this leads Gianni to forcing Cara into a marriage that she fully knows he doesn’t want. Like always though, what Gianni wants; Gianni gets and what he wants for keeps now is Cara.

The title does not give this book justice. Seductive is a word best described for Gianni’s and Cara’s relationship, but somehow that works for their characters. I definitely liked this book a little more than the first in the series, maybe more depth to it, but both books were nonetheless good reads. Cole has a way of infusing her books with turmoil and emotions that linger after they are finished. Gianni and Cara form a happy union and that is all we can hope for at the end of any book.

REVIEW:Wow, just wow. Crazed is book three in the Mafia Wars: New York series, and this one didn’t knock only my socks off, but my pants too. LOL

Massimo and Katiya’s story has got to be one of the hottest and most kinky mafia reads I have partaken in, in sometime. The saying you always have to watch the quiet ones holds more true for Katiya than most. Massimo fell for the silent librarian almost immediately even though his family kept telling him it was not a good idea. Katiya works for their family’s enemy in the mafia world, but even knowing this, neither of them can stop their feelings.

There is so much to this book, the angst, the passion, the fear of what will happen and the smut is top tier lol. I feel for Massimo when he thinks he is betrayed, and Katiya is between a rock and hard place having lost so much already. While this book falls into the trope of mafia dark romance, it holds some of the best love stories I have consumed. Cole can produce a book that captivates her readers that is for sure. Massimo is so loving and proactive when Katiya’s secrets are finally revealed, that was the best part of the book.

I am not dying to see where the rest of the series goes! Five stars!

REVIEW:  The Wilder Brothers are back at it again with the next installment in their series. C.A.R says this book is an enemy to lovers, and I guess in a way it is, however it feels more like a second chance romance to me.

Evan and Kendall married young, with a love that we all dream about, or so she had thought. When Evan blind sides her with a no nonsense divorce, he breaks her heart and her spirit. With her heart now broken and her so called soulmate gone, Kendall has to rebuild her life all over again. Fast forward almost a decade later, and Kendall takes a job at her ex’s family business. Evan is everywhere she looks, and even though she carries the Wilder name, she knows she’s not one of them anymore.

Evan is out of the service and building up the family business. Leaving Kendall all those years ago was the right choice in protecting her from all his baggage, but seeing her everyday involved in his family’s business, it has his feelings all over the place. As Kendall and Evan dance around each other, they also have to deal with the competition that is stealing clients from them.

As Kendall and Evan grow closer to one another, old feelings start to spark and emotions that they both thought were long gone start to swirl again. Life isn’t that easy though, and the past can’t be easily forgotten. Kendall needs answers and Evan is the one that has them, but will he share them with her after all these years.

*Sigh*

Evan and Kendall are everything. These two finding one another again after so many years is a treat to read. Kendall has spent so much time thinking about why Evan left her, but when she sees him again she is thrown right back to the day he gave her those divorce papers. Evan protecting her the way he did was a bit of a surprise, I had hoped something else would have come out about it, but it did not. Towards the end, where he finally starts to share about what happened is my favorite, you really get to see him as a character and why he did what he did. C.A.R never lets her readers down and I can’t wait to see what the Wilder family gives us next.

REVIEW: The Men of Ink are back with the Heatwave book ten, and this one hits all the feels. As I always do, I recommend reading the series in order, but it can be read as a standalone.

Nevin Walsh is out of prison and breathing fresh air again, after serving time for a crime he didn’t commit. Things are not as he remembers, people have moved on, family is gone, and the places he thought would never change are harder than ever to recognize. He has resigned himself to his new life, but Luna has other plans. Plans that will test his hard earned patience.

Luna is a Gallo, and we all know what that means. With a promise to Nevin’s brother Ian; her very own best friend, she is determined to help Nevin assimilate to a life of freedom. Nevin is all doom and gloom, and Luna is a happy ray of sunshine. They butt heads at every turn, but that also leads them to their connection and chemistry. With a future now brighter than he ever thought possible again, can Nevin let go of the pain of his past and move on?

I adore the grumpy sunshine trope!! It was such an adventure. Reading as Luna broke down the walls that Nevin had built to protect himself, to see his vulnerability and hope. Nevin wants Luna more than his next breath before he finally gives into her charms. When they finally make a breakthrough, Luna is out for blood when she decides that Nevin is it for her. Nevin thinks he is alone in the world, with no one on his side anymore, little does he know that Luna is not only on his side, but so is the rest of the Gallo clan.

I have loved the Gallo series so much and I am always going back to read my favorites. Nevin and Luna have definitely cracked the top five. Chelle Bliss’ track record of amazing books is still intact, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Step Brothers and Me is a steamy reverse harem romance featuring Gigi, Nathan, Juilan and Reese and their new budding chemistry.

After her husband serves her with divorce papers, all Gigi wants to do is wallow in her self pity and be left alone. Does that happen? No. Her Mother convinces her to come to the family reunion, and low and behold, that decision changes her life forever. Enter in the step brothers.

REVIEW:I have been waiting for this one!! I love some cowboy romance! Three Cowboys & Me is the third installment of the Three & Me series by the lovely Mika Lane. This is a reverse harem romance, so be warned now if that’s not your thing.

How do you get over finding your husband to be banging your maid of honor on your wedding day? You bum a ride from the three hot cowboy strangers and get the hell outta dodge. Lessa is rescued by Derek, Nick and Shawn on one of the worst days of her life. They are sweet and understanding, and even more than that; they are hot as all get out. Their chemistry is instant and sparks fly. When they give in to the passion of each other, Lessa, Derek, Nick and Shawn find more in each other than they thought they would.

Wow! What a ride! This has to be my favorite book in the Three & Me series so far. I hope to see more in the series, but it’s gonna be hard to top it!

REVIEW:Inked Temptation is the fifth installment in the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins series by the brilliant Carrie Ann Ryan. The book can be read as a standalone, but for avid readers I always recommend reading in series order. Inked Temptation is a male/male romance that takes us back to the Montgomery’s family.

Archer is a master plumber with the FC Montgomery Builders, and he is struggling. Archer’s life has been flipped on its head after his divorce with his ex-husband that has left his self esteem in the gutter. When his ex then announces his new engagement, that gutter feeling sinks even further. Through all of this Archer’s only thought is why he wasn’t enough and what was wrong with him. (UGH my whole soul for the man!)

Fast forward sometime and Archer begins a new project outside the FC area a bit, a cabin in the mountains that taunts him with its beauty. With nothing else to do, and no one waiting on him anymore, Archer puts his all into this outdoor sanctuary. How bad could it be right?

Wrong.

Killian is haunted by the trauma of his past, and his dog Cora and the cabin are his safe haven from the store. Peace and quiet. That’s what he wants in his life. Or at least that’s what he thought he wanted before Archer came crashing through his life.

Killian and Archer no doubt have a rocky first impression, but neither can deny the once in a lifetime spark they feel towards one another. Both Archer and Killian seem to know what the other needs the most, and willingly give it. However, life isn’t all rainbows and gumdrops, as both men know. Archer is still dealing with his self confidence and poor Killian has his own demons he needs to open up about as well.

These too are a goofy smile read for me, as a long time fan of the M/M genre, it’s so nice to see the author put so much work into the characters and not make it all be about the sexy bits. Archer and Killian are the balms each needs to heal their wounds and open their soul back up for a new love to begin. The FC Montgomery series has always been a favorite of mine and I can’t wait to see what C.A.R does next!

REVIEW:No one does a series quite like Ms.Helen. Just when I thought I had the Steel boys figured out, they go and surprise me all over again. Smolder is the 22nd, yes that’s right, the 22nd book in the Steel Brothers Saga, and this one has all the ANGST. As this book is so far into the series, I do recommend reading them in order, or at least the last few. There are enough details given in Smolder to not leave a newbie reader lost, but the series is amazing and you get more out of the book with previous reads.

Rory is on the rebound after ending a not so great relationship. When this happens, reality strikes, and Rory starts to put her life into perspective. She had to give up her dream of becoming an opera singer, but she won’t give up on the next thing she wants. And that’s a baby. Maybe being known as the most beautiful woman in Snow Creek won’t be a hassle anymore, and finding the right baby daddy won’t be as hard as finding someone to spend her life with.

Just as things start to go right for Rory, the Pike’s sisters’ past comes barreling through the lives they have built. Can Callie and Rory figure it out? Will the secrets overcome them?

Right?

Brock Steel has watched family member after family member fall to relationships and marriage. Known for his womanizing single ways, it’s never bothered him, until now. As things start to uncover and the “bones” surface, the Steel trio slowly unearth long forgotten secrets. With all this going on, Brock still can’t deny the attraction he has with Rory.

REVIEW: I think I’m gonna need to start charging these characters for the amount of emotional turmoil they put me through. If you’re looking for a single dad, swoon worthy romance, then look no further than Marni Mann’s newest release; The Single Dad. This is book three in the Dalton Brothers series and can be read as either a standalone or in series order.

Sydney has been working abroad as a nanny, chasing her dreams of traveling the world and seeing all its wonders it has to offer while she figures out what she wants to be when she “grows up.” Returning home with her goal in mind, she turns to her best friend for a place to crash while she sorts through her stuff. During a night out, who does she happen to run into? That’s right readers…

Ford.

Ford had his life changed the moment little Everly was placed in his arms, since then nothing would ever matter more than her and her happiness. Eeeppp! Ford and Sydney were so much fun to read! Everly is such a funny little kid, always making me laugh. The Daltons series has been a favorite read of mine from Mari and I hope to get more. Ford and Sydney were fire together, but a fire that burned so sweetly! Who doesn’t think about the Single Dad and the Nanny together lol

REVIEW:This is the book for you if you’re having a crummy day. My Perfect Enemy is a sweet taste of perfection with just the right amount of disaster thrown in. Book two in the Whitecap series brings us back to the tiny town and its lovely residents. MPE has all the feels of small time living with big time characters, a contemporary romance with a single dad spin off is just what this reader was looking for.

Luna and Nate met by chance, when neither were looking for something more, and their story is one that you don’t want to miss out on. The pair is blistering hot with sexual chemistry, and they surrender to a single night of sin together, no names, no questions, just pure bliss. So what happens when neither can get the other of their head? Worse; what happens when you think you will never see that person again, only to find out they are moving back to their hometown?

Luna is down in the dumps with her business now failing, so with nothing left to lose and far too much debt, she takes just about any job she can find in order to stay afloat. So what happens when her supposed one night stand turns out to be a family friend and oh the boss of the job she is in desperate need of? That’s right, luck is just not on Luna’s side.

Nate is returning to his hometown of Whitecap with his now teenage daughter in tow, with his divorce finalized he is putting all his time into his troubled daughter. When Nate takes an interview at the behest of his family, he is blown away to find the woman that rocked his world is a Whitecap resident. Not knowing what to do, and being a man, Nate wastes no time acting like a total tweedle dee, insulting Luna at every turn and rejecting her for the job. When Nate’s daughter Evan starts acting out worse than she already is; its Luna that is able to break through to the girl. For that, Nate agrees to give her a job. Little did either of them think it would lead to more.

Nate, Luna and Evan are freaking awesome! I loved the storyline of a single father, poor Evan, and poor Luna, dealing with what they had to deal with. -No spoilers- I think this is what makes them bond so well towards the last half of the book. They both miss what should have come so natural in that type of relationship. There were moments in this book that I wanted so badly to knock Nate into next week, but there were also a few of those for Luna. She carried so much baggage, as did Nate, but for Luna it was so ingrained in her, I felt for her so much. All Nate wanted to do was love her, to build something real with her, but Luna…well no spoiler..read the book!

I hope to see more of Whitecap, I loved visiting the town and all the characters we have come to love. The book starts out slow, but the burn is so worth the wait!!!
