ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 6, 2022

Even kings who serve at the whim of gods break the rules every now and then.

As the newly anointed king of the Underworld, I’ve worked hard to clean up the mess left behind by my predecessor. The realm is in relative peace at the moment, my main focus now on deciding the fate of recently departed souls. It’s a tediously boring task, and honestly, one I despise doing. But just when I think I can’t stand another moment of the monotony, one soul changes it all.

Nyssa McKnight earned her ticket to Hell. She made her choices and even at the prospect of eternal damnation, she doesn’t seem to regret the actions that led her here. I can tell by her utter defiance that life has hardened her, a trait that has carried over to her in death. She should be begging me for mercy but instead calls me a “big old winged bat”. I should toss her right into The Crimson River for her insolence but instead I think I’ll keep her in servitude.

While I struggle to reconcile the intrigue—and attraction—I have for this human, I am forced to spend my days investigating rumors of an uprising in the Underworld. Unfortunately, my desire to keep Nyssa has provided a weak spot for the rebellious Dark Fae looking to gain control, one they’re quick to act on. Now, with Nyssa in danger and my throne threatened, I will stop at nothing to restore order, even if it means letting her go.

Can Amell, the king of the Underworld, find true love, or is he destined to rule alone until the end of days?

REVIEW: THE MIDNIGHT REALM is the seventh instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s adult CHRONICLES OF THE STONE VEIL paranormal/fantasy/mythology series. This is Amell, King of the Underworld, and twenty-six year old human bartender Nyssa McKnight’s story line. THE MIDNIGHT REALM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Amell and Nyssa) THE MIDNIGHT REALM focuses on the acclimation and survival of Nyssa McKnight in H*ll. Having lived a life of demons and darkness, Nyssa takes a life, before ending her own. Waiting for her judgment, Nyssa is defiant until the end, an end that never comes when she finds herself saved by the King of the Underworld, the man with whom Nyssa will fall in love. Amell doesn’t know why he saved Nyssa from the Crimson River but Amell knew that Nyssa was about to upend his world in more ways than mattered. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Nyssa and Amell, and the fall-out as Nyssa is targeted for who she is, she was, and who she will never be.

Amell’s punishment for interfering in the laws of the gods is to spend eternity serving judgement from his throne in H*ll but Amell never expected to meet his future in the guise of human Nyssa McKnight, a woman with more spunk and fire than anyone he has ever met. Amell’s control of H*ll is about to be tested when the Dark Fae take aim at the woman with whom he is falling in love.

The relationship between Amell and Nyssa begins as prisoner and jailer. Nyssa has no idea why she was saved from the Crimson River of fire but going from the proverbial fire back into the frying pan means serving a man who is about to control her life. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including many we have met in previous story lines: Amell’s daughter Thalia (The Shadow Princess 6), god of life/death Zora, demigod Maddox; Dark Fae Truett, and his sister Sorcha, as well as several other Light and Dark Fae. The requisite evil has many faces.

THE MIDNIGHT REALM is another detailed and complex addition to Sawyer’s CHRONICLES OF THE STONE VEIL series, a series wrapped in mythology, angels and demons, Fae, daemons and demons, gods and goddess, power and control, betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and death. The fast paced premise is intriguing, intricate and captivating; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are powerful , energetic, charismatic and determined.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 27 2022

Coen Highsmith was a league star, but he lost more than his team the day the Pittsburgh Titans’ plane crashed. Can he be saved from his downward spiral of guilt and regret to become the man he once was?

I had it all—a successful hockey career, the respect and adoration of the fans, a rotation of beautiful women warming my bed, and a feeling of self-worth and contentment with the direction of my life. But that all changed the day the team plane went down, taking my only chance of redemption with it. Now I’m left with the daily reminder of all my failures and my inability to correct them.

My new teammates are tired of my attitude and following my suspension, I hole up in a mountain cabin to get away from all of it. The isolation is exactly what I need to get out of my own head, and I’m beginning to think I could be content in this quiet forever.

Tillie Marshall isn’t the type of woman who would usually catch my attention, yet she manages to do so for all the wrong reasons. I’m here for the peace and seclusion but the quirky artist is hell-bent on destroying that by cutting down the trees that separate our properties so she can open a pottery studio. If it’s a fight she wants, it’s a fight she’ll get. I have the money and the time and no issues bringing her down through the court system. While I see flashes of steely determination within her, I’ve found that being a jerk comes naturally these days and she won’t be hard to intimidate.

Unfortunately, that gorgeous and somewhat odd neighbor who has been causing me grief is creating another type of feeling within me. And once that spark is lit, Tillie displays a faith in me that for the first time since the crash I desperately want to believe. Now it’s time for me to step up and become the man—no, a better man than I once was.

REVIEW: COEN is the fourth instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult PITTSBURGH TITANS, erotic, hockey romance series focusing on the NHL’s fictional Pittsburgh Titans. This is star player Coen Highsmith, and artist Tillie Marshall. COEN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story.

SOME BACKGROUND: Several weeks earlier, a devastating plane crashed claimed the lives of the entire Pittsburgh Titans hockey team including coaches and staff. Rebuilding the team, owner Brienne Norcross, offered positions to one-time professional and semi-pro players, including our story line hero.

Told from dual first-person perspectives (Coen and Tillie) COEN follows in the wake of hockey star Coen Highsmith’s suspension from the NHL. Since the plane crash that killed his former team, Coen has struggled with survivors remorse and personal guilt, a struggle that was about to spiral his professional career. Taking his anger out on fellow players and officials, Coen finds himself sidelined as the team is about to head into the Stanley Cup playoffs. Determined to quit hockey, Coen buys a cabin in the woods, preferring to become a recluse, all by himself but Coen never expected to come face to face with his closest neighbor, a woman who wants to change the landscape to further her art. Enter Tilden ‘Tillie’ Marshall, and the woman with whom Coen will fall in love. What ensues is the building but acrimonious relationship between Tillie and Coen, and the potential fall-out as Coen must come to terms with the loss of his friends, and the remorse that often threatens to overwhelm.

Tillie Marshall knows loss first-hand but has battled all of her life to fit in and belong. Bullied since childhood, Tillie empathizes with her new neighbor, a man who is currently struggling to fit in where he doesn’t feel he belongs. Coen Highsmith wants to be left alone but his new neighbor is determined to take down the trees between their mutual cabins. Threatening a lawsuit , Coen must battle between head and heart when he begins to fall for his new found enemy.

The relationship between Coen and Tillie begins acrimoniously when Coen discovers Tillie has plans to remove several trees. In an effort to stop Tillie from changing the landscape Coen hires a lawyer to stop the woman with whom he is falling in love. Love is about to change our story line hero, love that breaks through the grief and sadness of a man who is unable to forgive himself. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples and characters, as well as Tillie’s closest friends, and the requisite small town bullies and gossips.

COEN is a story of loss, grief, guilt and sorrow, forgiveness and moving forward. The premise is captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are battered but starting to thrive.

Code Name: Omega (Jameson Force Security 10) by Sawyer Bennett-review

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Google Play / Apple /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 16, 2022.

I joined the team at Jameson Force Security three months ago and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. Leaving behind the Marine Corps together, my dog Omega and I made the cross-country trek to Pittsburgh for an exciting new career. Now I get to spend my days doing dangerous missions with my team and Omega gets to spend his days relaxing, unless there are explosives to be sniffed, and then he’s all paws on deck.

When Omega—who I affectionately refer to as Bubba—snacks on something he most definitely shouldn’t have, an emergency trip to the vet introduces me to Abigail Blackburn. She’s a little quirky, a lot smart, and completely captivating. She also has a penchant for trouble and when Abby makes it her own personal mission to expose the puppy mill industry, she finds herself mixed up with unsavory characters who aren’t happy with her efforts to cut into their profits

This seedy underbelly is a dangerous place, particularly for a well-intentioned, yet somewhat naïve, small-town vet. What began as peaceful protests outside of local pet stores has escalated into something that threatens Abby’s safety, and I refuse to sit by and watch her get hurt. Somehow this raven-haired beauty has gotten under my skin, and I don’t hesitate to call in my teammates at Jameson to help keep her safe.

Now I find myself trying to balance my need to protect Abby while helping her successfully complete her mission, but also redirecting her focus long enough to show her that I’ve completely fallen for her. One thing is certain—this is going to be my toughest assignment yet.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 5, 2022

Veteran player Gage Heyward retired from the league following a successful career. Now the Titans need him, but does he have what it takes to get back on the ice and pull this team together?

After achieving the goals I set for myself, I walked away from my professional hockey career. It was a tough decision, but the right one at the time. When the Titans organization approached me about joining the team they were rebuilding following a devastating plane crash, I felt a passion for the game and a competitive spirit I hadn’t felt in years. The opportunity to make a huge difference to a lot of people spoke to me, and I accepted their offer and headed to Pittsburgh without a second thought.

Jenna Holland is also new to town, having moved from Phoenix to Pittsburgh to take a job with the Titans. Her past has left her with scars—both physical and emotional—and she’s slow to trust others. But the more I learn about Jenna, the more I want to know. The more I need to know. Because the beautiful blonde with honey gold eyes and a wall around her heart has me enamored.

My game on the ice is the best it’s ever been, but it’s my game off the ice I’m focused on these days. Because while Jenna may not be willing to take a chance, I know the potential is there for something big. Something life changing. Now I just need to convince her to take the shot.

REVIEW: GAGE is the third instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult PITTSBURGH TITANS erotic, hockey, romance series-a spin off from the author’s ARIZONA VENGEANCE series. This is thirty-five year old veteran hockey player Gage Heyward, and media coordinator Jenna Holland’s story line. GAGE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion, as there is an ongoing premise throughout. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Some of the events of GAGE cross over with, and run parallel to some of the events in STONE. Jenna Holland is the sister of Emory (Jett-Arizona Vengeance #10).

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jenna and Gage) GAGE follows the building romance and relationship between thirty-five year old veteran hockey player Gage Heyward, and the Pittsburgh Titan’s new media coordinator Jenna Holland. Jenna Holland has been hired as the new media coordinator for the struggling PIttsburgh Titans in the wake of the plane crash that claimed the lives of the entire team but Jenna never expected to meet veteran hockey play Gage Heyward, the man that stirs something deep within our story line heroine.

Jenna Holland has struggled in the years since a devastating fire left her with both emotional and physical scars, scars that she diligently battles to hide on a daily basis. From the outset, Jenna is aware of the looks and whispers but mistakenly places Gage Heyward in the same mix as everyone else.

Gage Heyward had already retired from hockey when he was approached by the Pittsburgh Titans owner Brienne Norcross to help bring the team back into playoff contention. Meeting Jenna Holland, Gage knew immediately Jenna is the woman he is meant to claim as his own but Jenna continues to struggle with issues of low self-esteem, issues that are exacerbated by rude comments and despicable behavior by several people connected to the Pittsburgh Titans team. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Gage and Jenna, and the potential fall-out as Jenna struggles to come out from under the often cruel commentary from other people, and from within her own head.

The relationship between Jenna and Gage is one of immediate attraction but Jenna struggles with the visible scars believing herself unworthy of love. Pushed away by a former boyfriend, Jenna battles to move on from the pain, pain that is fuelled by the rude comments of everyone else. Gage Heyward fell for Jenna from the moment they met but convincing Jenna she was perfect was a tough battle for our story line hero. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to the Pittsburgh Titans roster: new goal coach Baden Oulett, and medical rep Sophie Winters (Baden #1), Stone Dumelin and Harlow Austin (Stone 2), Darius Cermak and his wife Anita, Coen HIghsmith, head coach Matt Keller, and team owner Brienne Norcross, as well as the appearance of Jenna’s sister Emory and her husband Jett (Arizona Vengeance). Coen Highsmith’s story is next.

GAGE is a story of family and friendships, relationships and love; betrayal and acceptance, perseverance and struggle. The premise is emotional and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are charismatic.

And will Bastien and I be able to reclaim the love we once shared? I am the Shadow Princess and it’s time for me to reclaim my throne.

REVIEW:THE SHADOW PRINCESS is the sixth instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s adult CHRONICLES OF THE STONE VEIL erotic, fantasy series. This is twenty-seven year old Princess Thalia Clairmont of Vyronas, and commandant Bastien Dunne’s story line. THE SHADOW PRINCESS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from first person (Thalia) and third person (Bastien) THE SHADOW PRINCESS focuses on the return of Princess Thalia Clairmont of Vyronas. Seven years earlier, in an effort to protect the sole heir to the throne, Thalia Clairmont was bespelled, and sent to live in the First Dimension aka Earth aka Wyoming where she would live and flourish, never knowing her true identity or the powers she controlled. Fast forward to present day wherein the Vyronas commandant Bastien Dunne is tasked with retrieving the soon to be queen, Thalia Clairmont, the woman he once loved but a woman who must now rule in the face of death and destruction. Ferelith, an evil sorceress, has been using blood magic, a forbidden form of alchemy, to take control and destroy anyone who opposes her siege but the wielders of blood magic become more powerful with every kill, and Thalia only knows of one person capable of teaching our heroine how to manipulate those powers. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Thalia and Bastien, and the potential fall-out as Ferelith sets her sights on our story line heroine, taking aim at man who controls Thalia’s heart.

Bastien Dunne lost all emotions and feelings the day Thalia was exiled to the First Dimension. Seven years yearning for the woman he once loved, Bastien struggled with Thalia’s return and his inability to move beyond the feelings no longer under his control. Thalia Clairmont’s memories and powers returned upon her arrival in the dimension where she was born but Thalia battled between head and heart believing betrayal was at the center of her exile and banishment. Reuniting with Bastien was made more difficult with Bastien’s less than welcoming attitude and emotions, emotions of which he no longer controlled. An impending war with Ferelith has Thalia searching for help, help that will reveal the truth about who she is, and of what she is capable.

The relationship between Bastien and Thalia is one of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people who had fallen in love years before but destroyed by a need to protect, preserve and defend. Thalia was still in love with the man that broke her heart, and proving he is worthy meant sacrificing in the face of danger and death. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Bastien’s brother Kieran Dunne; Thalia’s cousin Archer, their uncle Hephastus; several members of the Vyronas’ Conclave including Chief Laina Mercea; demigod Maddox; fallen angel/Dark Fae/leader of the Underworld Amel; and sorceress Ferelith Haramish. I am hoping the author has plans for Kieran, Maddox and Amel.

THE SHADOW PRINCESS is a complex and enchanted story of power and control, death and destruction, magic and the black arts, second chances and love. The premise is detailed, intriguing and dramatic; the characters are spirited and edgy; the romance is intimate and tender.

When Kynan McGrath approached me about joining Jameson Force Security, I jumped at the chance. So when I see an alert that he’s escaped from his maximum security prison, I know where he’s heading to exact his revenge.

Now it’s a race against time to get to Jessica before he does.

Protecting her with my life is easy, because there’s one thing I’ve never admitted to anyone, not even myself—I have been in love with Jessica Anderson since the day I met her. And if we both make it out alive, I’ll make sure she knows it every day for the rest of our lives.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 1, 2022.

Minor league player Stone Dumelin lost his younger brother when the Titans’ team plane went down. He never expected the phone call that followed.

After a shoulder injury put my NHL career on ice, I resigned myself to the fact I’d never see my way out of the minor league again. As my career faded, my estranged brother’s star shot into orbit as the first line left winger for the Pittsburgh Titans. But when the team’s plane crashed returning home one night, his light was snuffed out, and I was given the opportunity of a lifetime.

Now I’m in Pittsburgh, playing for the Titans, and face-to-face with my dead brother’s ghost at every turn. His locker, his legacy, his persistent and annoyingly gorgeous attorney who won’t stop contacting me about his estate, even though I’ve demanded she leave me alone.

Harlow Alston would be extremely appealing if she wasn’t so aggravating. Only…that’s a complete lie. She pushes all the right buttons for me, and as much as I want her to quit pestering me about Brooks’s estate, I find myself intrigued by the fiery redhead who can’t take no for an answer. And the more I learn about Harlow, the more I find she might be the key to understanding who Brooks really was, and who I want to be.

I’ve got a second shot at a career I thought I’d lost and the opportunity to build something real with Harlow, but can I find strength to move forward or will my past dictate my future?

REVIEW:STONE is the second instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult PITTSBURGH TITANS hockey, romance series-a spin off from the author’s ARIZONA VENGEANCE series. This is left winger Stone Dumelin, and attorney Harlow Alston’s story line. STONE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: If you have not read the author’s Arizona Vengeance series, there may be spoilers in my review. Most of the events of STONE run parallel to, and cross over with the events of book one BADEN.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Stone and Harlow) STONE follows the building romance and relationship between left winger Stone Dumelin, and attorney Harlow Alston. Stone Dumelin lost his younger brother Brooks in the plane crash that claimed the lives of the Pittsburgh Titans professional hockey team but when the new owner offered Stone a position on the rebuilding team, Stone struggled with what was and what will never be but an insistent attorney for his brother’s estate forces Stone to look at the bigger picture, a picture of which Stone knew little about. Enter attorney Harlow Alston, and the woman with whom Stone will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Stone and Harlow, and the potential fall-out as Stone struggles with secrets revealed, and his position in the life of Harlow Alston.

Stone Dumelin had been estranged from his younger brother Brooks for many years, an estrangement forced and built by someone they both knew. Unable to forgive himself or his brother Stone struggles going forward until Harlow reveals some truths, and the special place Stone had always held in his brother’s life. Harlow Alston battles her own demons on a daily basis but the loss of Brooks means more than anyone ever knew. Hoping to ease the suffering of Brooks’ brother Stone, Harlow offers up some friendship and advise, watching from the sidelines in case Stone’s life implodes.

The relationship between Stone and Harlow begins in the aftermath of the plane crash that took the life of Brooks Dumelin. Harlow is a representative for the estate of Brooks Dumelin, and Stone struggles with the demons that continue to drive a wedge between the once tight-knit brothers. As Stone slowly discovers the truth about what happened and why, Harlow becomes his angel and support when things spiral out of control. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include the members of the Pittsburgh Titans: Gage Heyward, Coen Highsmith, head coach Matt Keller, and team owner Brienne Norcross, as well as goalie coach Baden Oulett. We are introduced to Stone’s parents Mason and Nancy Dumelin, and his aunt Bethany; Harlow’s parents Robert and Celia, and Harlow’s assistant Bonita.

STONE is a story of family and fractured relationships, betrayal and trust; obsession and greed; struggled and loss. The character driven premise is emotional, revealing and tragic; the romance is intimate and edgy; the characters are edgy and dynamic.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 11, 2022

After suffering a horrific injury that threatens to end his career, Baden Oulett is about to learn that sometimes a fresh start is just what the doctor ordered.

I worked my whole life to achieve one goal—play professional hockey. As part of the defending Cup champion Arizona Vengeance, I was living my dream until one split second decision destroyed it all. Instead of lacing up my skates and hitting the ice, I’ve spent my days in rehab and physical therapy just so I could walk again. When a coaching opportunity with the Pittsburgh Titans is presented to me, I find myself with a career I had never considered but which allows me to continue being part of the sport that I love.

While my injuries are physical, the same can’t be said for the woman I rescued. Suffering from wounds that can’t be seen, Sophie Winters has withdrawn from the world in fear and guilt. I didn’t know Sophie before that fateful night and have only met her once since, but I refuse to let her face her demons alone. Determined to be a friend, I support Sophie in the only way I know how… by simply being there.

Through our shared trauma, Sophie and I begin to find peace within one another. As we grow closer, what started as friendship becomes more intimate until our broken pieces become one. But can a love born of anguish endure, or will the pain of our past prove too much to overcome?
