Told from dual first person perspectives (Matteo and Sera) SCORNED HEIR follows the fake relationship between is billionaire, Mafia businessman Matteo De Lucci, and Seraphina ‘Sera’ Moretti. Seraphine Moretti thought she was in love with her best friend Ivy’s brother Daniel Wu but Sera was about to become a pawn between warring factions in the criminal underworld, a pawn that will be destroyed by the man with whom she will fall in love. Matteo De Lucci has made a deal with the devil, and his prize will be our story line heroine but once the secrets are revealed, Sera will discover that everything about her life has been based on a lie. What ensues is the fake relationship to marriage between Sera and Matteo, and the fall-out as Sera becomes fodder in a game of betrayal and revenge.
The world building is detailed and complex, as the crime families prepare for war. We are up close and personal with members of the Italian Mafia, Irish Mob, and the Mexican Cartel-everyone wants something or someone the other has, and Seraphina is the ultimate prize. Sera’s brother Luca has brokered a deal with a high ranking member of the Mafia in Italy, and her best friend’s brother has made a deal with our story line hero.
The relationship between Sera and Matteo is predicated upon a lie, a lie that is about to break our heroine’s heart. Sera never expected to fall in love with Matteo De Lucci but the fall was about to break any semblance of peace, and her trust in the people she loved. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Matteo’s parents Cesar and Ava (De Lucci’s Obsession), his brothers Lorenzo (Liz) and Nico, and their sister Bianca; Sera’s best friend Ivy, and her brother Daniel Wu, as well as Sera’s uncle Luca, the boss of the Moretti crime family. The requisite evil has many faces.
SCORNED HEIR is a story of betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, secrets and lies, money and greed, power and control. The premise is intricate and multi-layered; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are desperate, strong-willed and determined.
