ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 10, 2021

When the guarded King of the Underworld collides with a maddeningly reckless lady, the road to ruination becomes impossible not to take.

Lady Frederica Darlington isn’t prim, obedient, or appropriately dispassionate as a proper lady of the aristocracy should be. Nor is she interested in securing a husband, whether rake, rogue, duke, or lord. Freddy wants to live as she pleases in a place she feels she belongs, and for a unconventional lady, the bohemian world of Covent Garden seems the perfect spot. She has a plan to achieve her goal, but when one of her secret missions goes awry and the King of the Underworld rescues her, danger never looked so enticing. And the future she was certain of now feels utterly confusing.

Born and bred on the cutthroat streets of London, Gabriel Beckford has known his share of struggle and loss. He even obtained a few enemies, one of whom is waiting to destroy any lady Gabe falls in love with, so Gabe lives by one simple, necessary rule: never get close. It’s a dictate that’s been easy to abide—until the day Frederica sweeps into his life like a storm. Her passionate nature and impossible impetuousness tempts him beyond reason, and when she declares to make the territory he rules her home, he’ll do everything in his power to stop her and keep her out of his life, head, and heart.

But when a threat to Frederica brings Gabe to her side once more, keeping her at a distance becomes impossible. As Gabe’s enemy closes in, Frederica and Gabe must learn how to trust themselves—and each other—and either submit to the love they thought they never wanted or risk losing the very thing that could save them both.

REVIEW:  Smaller possible spoiler alert!!

Gabriel “Gabe” Beckford has grown up on the streets, so knows poverty only too well! His sister, his best friend and young girl who grew up with them was all the family he needed. But after an incident that leaves Georgette with child, Gabe steps up and marries her! A happy ending, or so you would think! But it’s never as straight forward as that! And that’s how Gabe becomes the loner he’s now known for!A bitter enemy has sworn revenge, and so Gabe will remain on his guard. Love is not for him!

Frederica “Freddy” Darlington has always been a nuisance! Too loud, too boisterous and just not a lady! Her family just don’t know what to do with her! But Freddy has other ideas of how to occupy her time!Daring rescue missions to help ladies that can’t help themselves! But I’m doing so it puts her in danger, and that danger has Gabe crossing her path!

Gabe and Freddy are thrown together after a few incidents see her needing help! But Gabe doesn’t really want to get involved! But the lovely young lady strikes a bargain up with him, an offer he simply can’t refuse. In exchange for his help, Freddy will “teach” his sister to become a lady. And hopefully escape the life he doesn’t want for her.

He’s totally enamoured with her, but until he finds and ends the threat to anyone he cares for, nothing can ever come of his feelings towards Freddy…..

I’ve not read any of the other books in this series, they are all loosely linked, but you can read this one without reading the others. But I have read a few of the authors other books, and as usual it’s a great read.Historical Romance with murder/betrayal and a sprinkling of love thrown in.There are a few tender moments, but they are few and far between! The story is concentrating on a bitter score that needs sorting!

It’s a really good read. I liked the fact Gabe was an honourable rogue.I loved Freddy, she was such a strong character.Hoping Gabe’s sister and Freddy’s brother get their story time next.

It’s a Scottish based story, but to be honest, there was a few Scottish words thrown in, but other than that, it’s based in London and if I hadn’t read the title, I never would have guessed it was a Scottish story!

A relatively fast paced story. Nicely written and well thought out plot.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 20, 2020

Five years ago he humiliated her. Five years ago she betrayed him. And when fate forces them together once more, they’ll discover what burns hotter—vengeance or desire.

Lady Guinevere Darlington has spent the last five years trying to forget the beautiful rogue who stole her heart and then crushed it under his shiny black hessian. Humiliated by the blighter with the unforgettable brogue and left to weather the wagging tongues of the ton alone, she started a secret society that delivers justice to ill-intentioned rakes, and she managed to avoid having to wed—until now. But while her time is up, her determination is not. If she must take a husband, she’ll do so on her own terms. She has a plan, and a possible candidate, until the Scot she once loved returns to London and throws her life into salacious turmoil yet again.

Asher Talbot, the newly minted Duke of Carrington, has nearly perfected his ability to repress memories of the stunning, stubborn lass who long ago captivated him with her innocent charm, then slayed him with her duplicity. He channeled his anger into continuing to build the distillery empire he started when he thought he was a by-blow. But now his company is in danger, and he intends to secure his inheritance to save it, even if it requires pursuing the perfidious enchantress he disavowed. True reconciliation is not part of his plot, but hints of the Guinevere he thought he knew leave him questioning everything.

When fate, fortune, and a cunning scheme bring these two together, their mutual attempts to torture each other ignite the dormant desire between them. But secrets surround them, and they’ll have to unravel each one before the love they glimpsed is lost forever.

REVIEW: This historical romance is set in Kensington, England 1837.

This is the story of Lady Guinevere Darlington and Asher, the new Duke of Carrington, and what a story it is.

While I won’t give away the story, I can tell you what I loved about it and why I think it’s such a marvelous read.

It’s quickly paced, from the very beginning. The two main characters have met before, in fact they pretty much fell in in love. However, many others conspired for their own ends and the beginning love ended in Asher marrying one of Guinevere’s friends Elizabeth. Neither has discovered the conspiracies that kept them apart. Fate, not to be undone, changed the playing field. Elizabeth died in childbirth and Asher inherited his grandfather’s title if he marries one of three women. Yes, Guinevere is on the list. And the game is afoot!

Asher’s distillery is in financial straits and he needs the money he will inherit if he marries on of the three women his grandfather wants. Guinevere is still heartbroken over the last romance they had and is reluctant to be hurt yet again. Other conspiracies still abound.

Here’s what I really loved about this intricate and beautifully written tale. The plot is well done with many unusual twists. The characters are unique and have deep hurts and fears of their own. The banter and conversations are incredible and fun. The villains are not necessarily extremely evil, just working toward their own ends, but throwing some real monkey wrenches into the love story.

The interactions between the two main characters is most beguiling. You want to sit them down and explain a few things to them…

In all, I found it a very entertaining read and I highly recommend you give it a read. It’d most unusual and hard to put down, so be prepared to read it all at once, I had to!
