ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 17, 2025

Ever since Camryn Tanner went to culinary school, she knew she wanted to own a café. She’s worked at one across from her apartment building for five years now, and the owner is ready to sell it. The question is: Can she create the café of her dreams?

Fletcher McDowell comes from a long line of bakery owners. His father has tasked him with opening their latest bakery in a trendy neighborhood in the city. After a playboy youth, Fletcher knows this might be his last chance to prove himself to his father. There’s just one problem—the bakery across the street from his.

It doesn’t take long for Fletcher to meet his rival, a beautiful woman with a sharp tongue and baking skills that far exceed anything his bakery can produce. Their rivalry is about to be tested when they are forced to work together to win a baking competition.

With Camryn’s lucky saltshaker missing and the two enemies vying to gain insider information about each other, the competition is off to a rocky start. But the true test is figuring out the sleeping arrangement when a pipe burst leads to a shared room.

Will these two get over their enmity and work together to win? And can they stop themselves from falling for their enemy in the process?

REVIEW:Building Romance by S.E. Rose is book three in the Romances in the Building series.

We are back at the apartment building on Hearts Lane again. And this time we follow Cam and her adventures. Cam recently took over the bakery / cafe directly across the street from her apartment building. Between work and bakery jobs, she has worked for a solid decade towards her goal, of opening up her own bakery.

When her former boss, Phyllis decided to retire, she offered to sell the bakery to Cam. Everything fell into place. Then a large banner store posted that they were moving into the empty building down the street. Cam thought she was finally going to succeed at her goal – until this little snag came along.

Fletcher McDowell was picked by his father to oversee the opening of their new store – McDowell’s. The new store on Hearts Lane. He decides to make Cam an offer – he will buy her cafe. When Cam turns him down, he tells her the offer is on the table for the next 30 days. He then tells her he has enough money to put her out of business without buying her cafe. Cam reacts just as expected. This means war.

Cam may have the support of the neighborhood but this isn’t going to be easy. But when they both decide to combine forces to join a local baking competition. No one was expecting what began to happen. What a whirlwind of a story. I love being on Hearts Lane, it’s almost like you live in the apartment building with everyone. They have become home.

Wonderful story again, the romance between Fletch and Cam is unexpected and beautiful. But can these enemies find romance together or will the competition to be the number one store in the neighborhood cause a rift. Heart’s Lane is beautiful journey. Highly recommend the series.

REVIEW:Faking Romance is book one in the Romances in the Building Book Series by S.E. Rose.

Roxbury Benedict decides to go for her dream. She wants to open a romance bookstore.

The story opens with her leasing a storefront to open her dream bookstore called Happily Ever After Romance Bookstore.
And so begins Roxy’s journey at One Eleven Hearts Lane. The building is full of an eclectic range of tenants. And you quickly come to realize they are a family. Not by blood, but by proximity. While getting her bookstore ready to open, Roxy quickly finds out that the tenant living on the second floor, Grayson Porter, dislikes noise. While putting some furniture for the store together she has the pleasure of meeting Mr. Porter when he knocks on her door asking her to not make noise for the next two hours. He is a composer and is writing a score for an up and coming movie and this is his big chance. He can’t allow a little noise to sideline his project.

When Roxy agrees to not make noise, she tells him that she can paint for a bit. And again – he asks her not to do that either, as the fumes cause him migraines. Roxy is beginning to understand her grumpy upstairs neighbor. After weeks of getting the store ready for opening Roxy agrees to a blind date, set up by her landlord Al. Al asks her to meet her blind date at a bar down the street. When she arrives she realizes Al has set her up with her upstairs neighbor Grayson. While Grayson and Roxy are both in shock that Al would have the audacity to set them up together they actually end up having a really good time.

Realizing that they have misjudged each other immensely they decide to enter into an arrangement that benefits both of them.
Grayson needs a fake girlfriend, since he told the producer of his movie that he had a girlfriend. He isn’t sure why he lied and didn’t know how to take it back. Roxy actually enjoyed herself with Grayson, and if entering into this arrangement will get him to stop complaining about the noise, she is all for it.

Will this arrangement work out, or will it cost them everything?

I absolutely loved this book. It was hilarious, steamy and magical all at the same time. Some of the great parts of the book: Someone leaves flowers on a bench in the park across the street from their building everyday.

It’s a great mystery who is doing this. And the notes that are on the flowers, just touch people’s lives! it’s quite beautiful.

My favorite line from the book: “I don’t pay attention because I’m too busy kissing my dream guy, my very own real grumpy-sunshine, enemies-to-lover, fake-relationship, one-bed-trope, neighbor-romance book boyfriend.”

Definitely recommend, can’t wait for the next book in this series! I hope that every tenant gets their love story!
