Description:
WHEN THE RISKS ARE THIS GREAT…

When Dr. Drea Timmons was kidnapped during Section 8’s last mission, Jem did everything in his power to rescue the woman he’d fallen for—a woman unwillingly recruited for one of S8’s most personal and dangerous covert operations. Drea survived, but at a price. The trauma of her capture has rendered her without a single memory of her ordeal—or any recollection of how violently unpredictable her ex-boyfriend, Danny, an Outlaw Angel, had become, or why she had left him.

IS TRUST EVEN AN OPTION?

When Danny threatens to turn Drea over to the feds, she is forced to go on the run and confront a past that is as deadly as her future. As trouble closes in on both ends, Drea has no choice but to trust Jem, the only man who can help her, the only man whose electrifying touch brings back memories—piece by piece—too stirring to forget

Review:

Fragmented by Stephanie Tyler is the 3rd book in her Section 8 series. It is difficult to write a review without some background, and possible spoilers of previous books. Please be aware that the start of Fragmented details heavily with the cliffhanger from the previous book, Unbreakable.

When we last left off in Unbreakable, Drea had lost her memory. Drea is a doctor, who was kidnapped by Jem, a Section 8 operative and brought to Section 8 to save Avery, our heroine in that book.  By the time the book ended, Drea was happy to be part of the team, but after a covert mission failed, Drea did not remember Jem or the team.

Fragmented is Drea and Jem’s story, and we learn at the start that Drea has slowly begun to remember some things about Section 8, and the team.  Carolina, and the doctors have been working for months with Drea, and when she slowly begins to remember her feelings for Jem, he brings her back to Section 8 to protect her.

Danny, who is Drea ex-boyfriend, is the main villain in this story. Though she may not remember as much as she would like to, Drea knows how dangerous Danny is to her. Jem will do anything he can to protect Drea from Danny, the FBI and other agencies who threaten Drea. The Section 8 team all band together to help her, bringing in a new partner, who will help clear the way for the team to fight the bureaucracy and continue to do their covert rescue operations.

What follows is an exciting story, with Jem and the Section 8 team trying to save a young kidnapped girl, and at the same time protect Drea from Danny, his MC members, and the government officials working with him. The romance between Jem and Drea was hot, and it is their true feelings for each other that will bring Drea fully back to Section 8. I loved being able to see all of the team again.

I really enjoy this series by Stephanie Tyler, as she has created a wonderful group of characters that make up the Section 8 team. I will say that though Fragmented was a good story, it was in my opinion not as good as the two previous books. Drea and Jem were a great couple, and their chemistry was hot; but I suspect that my reasoning may have to do with the many flashbacks for Jem that slowed the story somewhat. However, with that being said, this was still a great book and series.

Description:
THIS IS SECTION 8.

A cabal of operatives with dangerous pasts teams up to work black ops missions. Their weapon: deception. Can they help one of their own before he goes too far?

When Gunner agreed to help Section 8, he didn’t realize he’d be pulled back into the shadowy world he thought he’d escaped forever. The son of double agents, he was initiated at a young age into the cold world of espionage when his father forced him to work for international smuggler Drew Landon. And when Gunner’s past with Landon threatens the other mercenaries, and, most important, Avery, he makes an impossible choice…and disappears.

Avery’s not willing to give up on Gunner. The attraction between them has been there from the start, and she rallies Section 8 to help him. She knows there’s only one way to keep Gunner safe: fake his death and take him off the grid. But when she finally locates him, Gunner is a changed man, harder, more desperate, and on the edge of self-destruction. And only Avery can find a way to free him from Landon—and from the demons of his past—before it’s too late.

Review:

Unbreakable by Stephanie Tyler is her 2nd book in her Section 8 series.  I discovered Tyler when I had read and reviewed the 1st book of the series, Surrender. I loved the book, and noted that I would be adding it to my must buy list.  When Unbreakable was sent to be for an honest review, I was looking forward to see if Tyler can keep this storyline going, and I am thrilled to say…..she does.  Unbreakable, which is romance suspense, was a fantastic story, with many of the characters from the first book playing major parts in this story.

Our heroine in Unbreakable is Avery, who is Dare’s sister (our hero in the first book), and the person who will help run Section 8.   Gunner is the hero in this storyline, and there is no question that both Avery and Gunner love each other very much, but in this case, nothing is easy.

Unbreakable starts a short time after Surrender left off, with Avery trying to put the pieces of Section 8 back together.  Many of the others were sent to take a vacation break, with Avery, Gunner and Jem hanging back.  Gunner leaves to go back to work for an old boss, Drew Landon, as he feels he is not good enough for Avery, not to mention  putting her life in danger.  But Avery is determined to get Gunner back, and with the help of Jem, she succeeds to kidnap him and bring him home.  What Avery doesn’t realize is that Landon will go to extreme lengths to bring Gunner back to him, including hurting Avery very badly.  At this point, we meet up with a new character, a female doctor named Drea.  I loved this new addition to the group, as she fit in so well.   The team is called back together, while Avery recovers, to plan some way to stop a powerful villain like Drew Landon.

What follows is an exciting and suspenseful adventure that was a thrilling ride all the way to the electrifying climax.  A few surprises and twists will create a very exciting, and volatile situation at the end.   Though the storyline come to a satisfying conclusion, there is something that is left open ended, and we know who book three will be about.  Darn…I cannot wait for the next book.  Tyler does such a great job with her fabulous characters, such as Avery, Gunner, Dare, Grace, Jem, Key and now Drea.  I guarantee you will love them as much as I did.

If you like adventure, danger, suspense, hot mercenaries, strong women, steamy sex, and a nasty villain, then this series is perfect for you. Even though this is the 2nd book of a series, it can be read as a standalone.  But because of these wonderful characters, I wholly recommend you start with the 1st book to meet them all, and understand more of the storyline and background.  Stephanie Tyler is one of the best authors writing romance/suspense. If you have not read this series, go buy Surrender now, and then read Unbreakable

Description:
Section 8, will involve military heroes, intrigue and action. The first book, Surrender, is set in New Orleans and the hero is Dare O’Rourke.
On the run and living for revenge…

Desperate, fearless, and hunted.

For ex-Navy SEAL Dare O’Rourke, Section 8 was legendary. The son of one its missing members, he grew up in the shadow of its secrets. All he knew was that it was a cabal of operatives discharged from branches of the military and reassigned to extremely dangerous, off-the-books international missions. And their handler, who answered only to the president, was as shrouded in mystery as the missions themselves.

Nothing can stop them. Nothing can break them.

Now, the handler of Section 8 has given extreme orders: kill any remaining members, along with their families. It’s then that Dare makes a startling discovery: the existence of a long-lost half sister named Avery he was never meant to meet. Determined to fight for their lives and find their missing father, Dare and Avery bring together the last members of Section 8 for one last mission: to avenge their families, and to survive.

Review:
Surrender by Stephanie Tyler is the first book in her new Section 8 series, which is Romance Suspense.  This is my first time reading Stephanie Tyler, and I loved her writing in this book.

Surrender has everything, from adventure, danger, suspense, hot military men, strong women, and steamy sex, not to mention a nasty villain.  We meet one of our heroes, Dare O’Rourke in the beginning, as he is living in seclusion, hiding from those trying to find him and kill him.  Dare is forced to come out of hiding, to help save the half sister, he has never met. Together Dare and his sister Avery, try to find a way to survive, and hold off the man behind Section 8, who plans on killing everyone who had anything to do with now the defunct division.  This includes any family members who knew of Section 8 from their family.

Dare kidnaps Grace, who is Richard Powell’s daughter, who is the man bent on killing them, and the villain of this story.  However, in a short time, Dare realizes that Grace is as much a victim as he and Avery are. Grace was a great heroine, very strong, and a warrior in her own right, not to mention having a psychic gift she must learn to use.    Her father tortured her, and when she escaped, she managed to become even stronger to help her survive.   The connection between Dare and Grace becomes apparent immediately, and once they learn to trust one another, they will team up with others, who are also in danger.   I loved how Tyler created these characters, from Dare, Grace, Avery, Gunnar, Jem, and Key.  They were wonderfully created, with their own flaws, and you found yourself caring about each of them.

As the enemy gets closer, they all join together, knowing their lives depend on each other’s help in order to survive, which was looking extremely slim.  Dare and Grace had a lot of chemistry, and their sexual scenes were very hot. Avery is also a great female character, who has excellent chemistry with the other men.  Tyler has so much material to continue this series, with all of them.

The entire book was very exciting, as it was a tense edge of your seat suspense, with some surprising twists, as well as a passionate group of heroes.  I could not put the book down during the last third of the book, since I was thoroughly hooked into the adventurous thrill ride that brought us to a slam bang ending.

Surrender was a wonderful book, filled with non stop exciting action, and a group of characters you will love.  If you want romance suspense at its best, you need to read Stephanie Tyler.  Now that I have discovered her, I plan to read more of her other series, and I will automatically have Section 8 on my must buy list.
