SPARK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty .Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Hattie and Dex) SPARK follows the building relationship between former Marine/auto mechanic Dex Colton, and former attorney/interior designer Hattie Sutton. Hattie Sutton left her old life in Phoenix behind, tired of her parents controlling every aspect of her life. Starting anew in Los Angeles as a business partner in a local graphic design firm, our heroine has no desire to tie herself down to one man including the man with whom she will fall in love. Enter former Marine, and mechanic Dex Colton. What ensues is the building but back and forth relationship between Hattie and Dex, and the potential fall-out as Hattie refuses to settle in the wake of Dex’s proclamation of love.

The relationship between Dex and Hattie begins as an almost one-night stand, almost because Hattie is a bit of a runner when things begin to overwhelm. Several times our heroine ‘runs’ at the first sign of ‘something more’ including Dex’s declaration of love. Dex Colton, on the other hand, knows first hand the heart break and pain of betrayal, rejection and loss. Willing to test the waters of his own happily ever after, our hero quickly learns that the woman with whom he has fallen in love isn’t willing to give love a chance. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters. We are reintroduced to Hugh and Shay (Swerve #1), Joe and Darcey (Spin #2), Adam and Lucy (Spin #3), as well as Dex’s brother Zane, and his ex-girlfriend Chloe.

SPARK is a quick read; a fast paced novella focusing on one woman’s desire to be independent under any circumstance, and one man’s struggle to find love and his own happily ever after. The premise is entertaining; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance is heavy and hot but I struggled with Hattie’s continuous need to run every time Dex attempts a more serious relationship.

MEANT FOR YOU is a story of family, friendships, second chances and love. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance is seductive.

She didn’t recognize me.
But then my name wouldn’t have tipped her off. Cal was a nickname, a shortened version of my surname Calero. Cassandra wouldn’t know that, Chris had called me by my first name, Joel.
Through a small gap, the only piece of glass door not covered in pictures, I watched Cassandra Deighton get into her car and shut the door.
Jesus. Even after ten years she still seemed as untouchable as she had then. That coating of frost she’d made sure I felt whenever I was around her hadn’t thawed. The only time I’d seen her soften was around her horses. Daddy’s perfect angel. She’d been an ice queen in the making back then. Is that who she was now?
What would her father say if he knew she was getting inked up? If he knew who was going to be decorating her rich-girl skin?
I gripped the handle. I needed to go out there before she left, put a stop to this, tell her that I’d made a mistake, that I couldn’t fit her in after all. But I couldn’t make my damn feet move. I fucking stood there and watched her drive away.
The last time I’d seen her she’d been walking up the stairs in her house, dressed to the nines, dolled up for one of her father’s fancy dinner parties. She hadn’t seen me, had missed the night’s entertainment when I’d been escorted from the property, whispers and looks of accusation following me as I was dragged out and told not to come back.

“Fuck.” Of all the tattoo shops Cassandra could have strutted her snooty ass into, she’d chosen mine. Why did I agree to work on her? I’d lost my motherfucking mind. Shit, if she knew who she’d asked to cover those scars…

REVIEW: KNIGHT’S SALVATION is the second instalment in Sherilee Gray’s contemporary, adult KNIGHTS OF HELL erotic, paranormal romance series focusing on a group of demon hunters known as the Knights of Hell, warriors whose birth was ordained by the mating of angels and demons. These ‘Knights’ hunt the demons who make life a living h*ll on earth for everyone involved. This is demon hunter Zenon, and demi-demon Mia Westbrook’s story line. KNIGHT’S SALVATION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person points of view including Zenon and Mia KNIGHT’S SALVATION follows demon hunter Zenon as he struggles with his attraction to demi-demon Mia Westbrook. Mia knows she is a half-human, half-demon hybrid; and with it comes immense power that is oft-times unstable, without the ability to control. Knowing she is expected to live and train with the Knights of Hell, Mia is shocked when her attraction to demon hunter Zenon causes all kinds of problems for our story line hero. What ensues is the acrimonious relationship between Mia and Zenon, and the potential fall-out as Zenon’s time on earth has an end date when Zenon is forced back into hell.

Zenon is unlike the other hunters. Our hero is a hell-born demon hunter; more demon than angel, and thusly his life is all about chaos, power and control. Broken and scarred, Zenon struggles with his attraction to Mia, a woman he knows to be his fated mate. With needs beyond that which he can control, Zenon is willing to sacrifice himself to save the woman with whom he is falling in love. Mia Westbrook has always known she is the product of a human and demon mating but her powers are growing beyond that which she is able to control, powers that attract the pure-bred demons. Hoping to live a life as normal as possible, Mia battles her attraction to, and hatred for the man that continues to break her heart.

The relationship between Zenon and Mia is contemptuous at best. Zenon refuses to accept Mia as his mate but he is unwilling to let go knowing his beast is but a heartbeat from breaking free and destroying it all. The push and pull, back and forth, up and down of Zenon’s emotions is overwhelming and constant. Ashamed and humiliated about his life and what he must endure, Zenon continues to push Mia at every encounter. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including the reappearance of Lazarus and Eve (Knight’s Redemption #1), Knights of Hell leader Chaos, James, Gunner, Kryos and his mate Meredith, and Rocco; as well as Silas-the angel who trains and watches over the Knights. The requisite evil has many faces.

KNIGHT’S SALVATION is a story of heartbreak, endurance, struggle and pain. The premise is engaging, emotional and disturbing; the characters are colorful, dynamic and dangerous; the romance is hot and heavy. KNIGHT’S SALVATION is also a familiar story line in that the male lead, and the struggles he has had to, and continues to endure are intensely recognizable and similar to another author’s well-known, broken, vampire warrior hero. From the name similarities (Z). same physical attributes and manifestations, tattoos and scars, to the background history and suffering, Zenon’s resemblance to said broken vampire are too numerous to ignore.

REVIEW: RUTHLESS PROTECTOR is the fourth instalment in Sherilee Gray’s contemporary, adult LAWLESS KINGS erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for the King Agency doing personal protection and security, private investigation (corporate and domestic), high-risk fugitive recovery, missing persons and kidnapping investigations. This is King Security PI and former police officer Jude Wayland, and waitress/exotic dancer Willa Hartley’s story line. RUTHLESS PROTECTOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person points of view (Willa and Jude) RUTHLESS PROTECTOR follows the acrimonious relationship between King Security PI and former police officer Jude Wayland, and waitress/exotic dancer Willa Hartley. Jude Wayland knows something is going on with his new tenant: mysterious strangers, and threats against her life, as well as her most recent venture into the world of exotic dancing find Jude going into protector mode as it pertains to the independent and untrusting Willa Hartley. The sole provider for her eight-year old niece Tilly, Willa becomes desperate enough to take on a position at the local exotic dance club, desperate enough when threats of another nature come knocking at her door. What ensues is the building relationship between Jude and Willa, and the potential fall-out as Willa continues to keep secret the who and why behind to threats to her life, and our heroine’s inability to trust threatens her relationship with the man that she loves.

Willa Hartley’s need for independence, and her inability to trust promote an aura of unfriendly and harsh. Our heroine’s aggressive attitude and unwillingness to ask for help threatens not only her life but the life of her eight-year old niece, and in this, she is a difficult heroine to like and accept. A little bit of TSTL (too stupid to live) syndrome does not make for an enjoyable character. Willa’s character development is questionable until the very end, and someone points out the truth of her actions against the man that she loves. Jude Wayland knows loss, and it is this loss that exaggerates his need to protect Willa and Tilly, an exaggeration that brings with it too many heart breaking memories of the past.

RUTHLESS PROTECTOR has a colorful cast of secondary and supporting characters all of whom interact with our story line couple. From fellow exotic dancers, the local cartel, the men and women who work for the King Security Agency, and the requisite evil with many faces, RUTHLESS PROTECTOR is a character driven story line about family, friendship, betrayal and love. The premise is engaging; the leading characters are broken and charismatic; the romance struggles in the face of our heroine’ s inability to trust or ask for help when it is needed the most.
