ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 2, 2025

When two witches with a tangled history are forced to team up, it spells disaster in this steamy rom-com from USA Today bestselling author Avery Flynn.

It’s the curse of every family’s heir to be the responsible one. My family being the most powerful family in all of Witchingdom doesn’t eliminate that fact, it only makes it worse—and that’s why I, Leona Amber Sherwood, never do the unexpected. Except for that one time I did.

Believe me, I have rued the day that I got married in a midnight ceremony under a full moon to Erik Svensen, the heir to my family’s deepest, bitterest enemies, and now, he won’t agree to a divorce unless we return an ancient spell book to his family’s secured facility.

But on our road trip to return the book, I learn more about Erik as we encounter trolls, nymphs, satyrs, and more. The longer we work together, the more I’m convinced that he might not be the evil trickster I assumed he was. Any more time together will leave me even more enchanted with my husband and that’s the last thing I want. And if I keep telling myself that, maybe I’ll start to believe it.

REVIEW: Avery Flynn casts a spell of laughter, magic, and unexpected romance in, “Head Witch in Charge.”

This book follows Leona Amber Sherwood, the responsible heir of the most powerful witch family, as she embarks on a wild road trip with her estranged husband, Erik Svensen!

Their task? To return an ancient spell book to his family!

From the start, the author paints a vibrant world with magical creatures like trolls, nymphs, and satyrs, each encounter had me either chuckling or face palming and groaning. What begins as a reluctant partnership slowly transforms as Leona discovers layers to Erik’s character, challenging her notions of him as merely a “bad guy.” His family is painted as the bad witches! Always finding a way to manipulate any situation.

Meeting in Vegas, they end up hand fasting to one another! Then she finds out who Erik really is, hence the estranged part.
Struggling with her feelings and family expectations, she grapples with the thought of rekindling a romance that she knows is impossible. But this road trip has her finding out more about both herself and Erik, they really be sworn enemies?

I liked how Leona tells the story, she’s not happy that she’s the responsible one, but someone has to do it! As they confront magical obstacles, the couple’s relationship takes dips and turns. The will they won’t they keeps you turning the pages.

Erik tells you from the start he’s not a good guy, his family is full of liars/cheaters/schemers and opportunists! So was meeting Leona a weak moment? Or was it all a ploy from the very start? 🤐

With laugh-out-loud moments that are effortlessly balanced by deeper emotional moments. The pacing flows smoothly, while allowing us to savor the magical world she’s crafted. The supporting characters, such as quirky nymphs and mischievous trolls, add to the mayhem.
Both Cupcake and Barkley hold a special place in my heart. 😊

“Head Witch in Charge”, is a delightful addition to the series that combines steamy romance with captivating adventure.

Whether you’re a fan of fantasy, rom-coms, or just looking for a fun escape, this book delivers all the enchanting elements i crave.

With its engaging plot, lovable characters, and a sprinkle of magical mayhem, Avery Flynn has brewed up a captivating tale that is sure to leave you bewitched. 😉

Grab your broomstick and settle in for this delightful ride, it’s a magical journey you won’t want to miss!

USA Today bestselling romance author Avery Flynn has three slightly-wild children, loves a hockey-addicted husband and is desperately hoping someone invents the coffee IV drip.

She fell in love with romance while reading Johanna Lindsey’s Mallory books. It wasn’t long before Avery had read through all the romance offerings at her local library. Needing a romance fix, she turned to Harlequin’s four books a month home delivery service to ease the withdrawal symptoms. That worked for a short time, but it wasn’t long before the local book stores’ staffs knew her by name.

Avery was a reader before she was a writer and hopes to always be both. She loves to write about smartass alpha heroes who are as good with a quip as they are with their *ahem* other God-given talents. Her heroines are feisty, fierce and fantastic. Brainy and brave, these ladies know how to stand on their own two feet and knock the bad guys off theirs.
