ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 31, 2013

Down, Boy

Anna Moder has just witnessed a shooting, seen her car pulverized, and rescued a wounded stranger only to discover he’s really a werewolf. And by her recent standards, things are actually looking up. Lycanthropes don’t faze Anna. Doctoring a wolf pack outside Grundy, Alaska, is the closest thing to home life she’s known in years. But hitching a ride to Anchorage with long-absent pack member Caleb Graham that’s a risk. Part of her itches to whack his nose with a newspaper. The rest is trying unsuccessfully to keep her own paws off every delicious inch of him.

The problem is, Caleb employs his lupine tracking abilities as a not quite-legal bounty hunter, and Anna is suspicious of both him and his profession. On the run from her past, with old problems closing in, she’d like to stay far, far away from anybody with connections to the law. Caleb, however, seems determined to keep her close. Are his intentions noble, or is he working a more predatory angle?
Anna’s been dreaming of returning to a semi-normal life, but now she’s experiencing a strange new urge . . . to join Caleb in running with the wolves.

••••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: HOW TO RUN WITH A NAKED WEREWOLF is the third instalment in Molly Harper’s contemporary, adult, paranormal Naked Werewolf series focusing on the werewolves of Grundy Alaska. This is Caleb Graham and Anna Moder’s storyline. Although it is the third in the series, it can be read as a standalone without any difficulty. Some of the previous storyline characters make a cameo appearance near the end, but it will not affect the storyline cohesion or cause reader confusion.

The storyline follows Anna as she comes face to face with a man who has been shot behind the grocery store at which she works. Making their escape from a gunman who is intent on taking them both down, Anna pulls Caleb into his truck only to discover that the man she is trying to save is a member of the werewolf pack where she used to live. Anna was the pack physician, but circumstances forced Anna to leave and she is still running when Caleb is shot at her back door. The only problem is that Caleb had never previously met Anna and does not know that she is aware of his supernatural side. Anna is human and on the run from her past.

The premise finds Anna and Caleb on the hunt. Caleb is a ‘bounty hunter’, of sorts, who takes on assignments that no one else is willing to handle. Anna finds herself partnered with Caleb for several hunts and soon realizes that she is falling for the man. But Anna’s past is dangerous and she will make several attempts to run but every time Caleb hunts her down forcing her to stay by his side.

The relationship between Caleb and Anna is slow to build. They are sexually and physically attracted to one another, but both keep their distance until Caleb’s wolf demands that this woman is his mate. But Caleb also has a secret and one that will push Anna away at a time when she needs him the most.

The storyline takes the reader through small towns and villages in and around Alaska searching for missing husbands and run away wives. From honky tonk bars to the snow covered forests, you can feel the cold; breathe the fresh air; and watch the sun set over a land that has yet to be explored.

HOW TO RUN WITH A NAKED WEREWOLF is another welcome storyline from Molly Harper and her Naked Werewolf series. If you life a paranormal storyline with a little bit of humor, a little bit of sex and a little bit of mystery, then this is the storyline and series for you.

•••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: AVENGER’S HEAT is the fourth full length storyline in Katie Reus’s contemporary, romance Moon Shifter paranormal series. The premise follows Erin Flynn and Noah Campbell-enforcers for the North American Council of Lupine Shifters-as they are sent to investigate a series of missing pregnant shifters. With the discovery of a dead female whose body appears to have been attacked by vampires, Erin and Noah soon realize that there is more to the missing women than anyone knows.

Katie Reus takes the reader on a tour of New Orleans where the rich and uber-rich of the paranormal realm play a game of power and control. As Erin digs deeper with her first solo mission as lead enforcer, she will discover that the trail begins to lead back to an all too familiar nightmare.

The relationship between Erin and Noah began in a previous storyline where Noah soon realized that Erin was his mate. As the relationship continues to build, so too does the sexual heat and need between shifters. Noah’s inner wolf knows that Erin is their mate, but convincing Erin may be another matter all together.

The world building continues with its connections to the Armstrong-Cordona pack referencing several previous storyline characters as well as developing upon a few secondary stories. There is little to no mention of the Antiparanormal league as Katie takes the series in another direction where fear of retribution and attack against the paranormal species comes from their very own.

Katie Reus continues to write an incredible series with action, suspense, romance and little bit of steamy sex. Her characters are passionate in their need; sensual in their love; and seductive in their heat. Katie pulls the reader into a world of imagination where the lines between reality and fantasy meet.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk/ Barnes and Noble / KOBO /

Once in a blue moon…

For Rafer Breaux, life in the Louisiana Bayou is harsh, violent—and deeply sensual. The Cajun werewolf lives for his Pack and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep his brothers safe. The longer a wolf lives without a mate, the harder it becomes for that wolf to shift back. To remember that he is a man—and not a monster. And those mates can only be found during a blue moon. When a blue moon finally rises, Rafer will need every weapon in his sensual arsenal to tempt one special woman into his arms and the heart of the Pack.

The Pack hunts for mates

Fighting to keep her family farm, Lark Andrews isn’t looking for love. Even if the very sexy Breaux brothers make her dream of hot bayou nights spent in their arms. When the blue moon leads Rafer to her door, however, Rafer has her rethinking her position on all work and no play. Now, the bayou nights are heating up as Rafer fights to convince her, one sensual touch at a time, to give love and passion a chance. But Rafer isn’t a one wolf deal. Is there room in Lark’s heart—and bed—for Rafer and his Pack?

My review …

This puts a different twist on a para-romance.

Wow wow wow …. I need me a blue moon wolf 😉

This is a SCORCHING hot series, and not to be read in a packed train 😉 lol

Rafer is the main character in this book.

I first I wasn’t sure at the idea that Rafer would share Lark with his brothers. But I total got it as it was established early on that Rafer was utterly devoted to the Pack. They were a dying breed and they were brothers. If sharing his mate prolonged the life of his brothers until they found their own mate, it was plausible. The two scenes were incredibly sensuous and didn’t feel uncomfortable.

Rafer lives for his pack, and was consumed with worry for himself and his brothers, because unlike most para books I’ve read, these males will remain as wolves, if they don’t find their blue moon brides. And that was the twist that made me read on.

Lark, is a gentle soul who owns and runs a flower stall and greenhouse.

And at first is reluctant to entertain Rafer, but as the blue moon approaches, her hormones kick in, and the chase is on.

In these books the female is allowed to choose a mate, so although Rafer technically “caught” Lark, it doesn’t mean he gets to keep her. And a small part of him wants to be kept by this intriguing woman.

And we do meet his brothers in this story, and in fact though the next 2 books, they are all intertwined together, like a proper pack.

The conflict or danger part of the story involved vampires. While lots of books have werewolf/vampire elements, usually they both have redeeming qualities. This book didn’t. The vampires were evil to the bone. And were looking to “wear” the wolves pelts,( this helps them to walk in the sun)!

As the sun sets, then the vamps come out to stalk Lark and the brothers.

As for the naughty scenes in this book, they were done with real love for the characters. (I have read many menages and group books, and some of them totally mess up the love scenes).

She accepts the whole pack as hers. And has a special moment with Dag and Rafer.

It’s a great book to start the series with.

Pleasured by the PackDre and Landry Breaux do everything together. Fishing, fighting—and loving. A whole lot of loving. When the blue moon leads these Cajun werewolves to their fated mate, however, they’re ready to reform. Now, they’ll fight to keep the woman of their dreams safe from the evils lurking in the Louisiana bayou—and to tempt her into taking a chance on two of the bayou’s sexiest bad boys.

Mary Jane Johnson is no heartbreaker. Running from a troubled past, the bayou captain wants only to be left alone. When she takes a pair of bayou bad boys on board, however, Dre and Landry have her rethinking her need for space. These two big males have promised to take orders—all of her orders. Suddenly, she’s dreaming of getting as close as possible… to both of the Breaux brothers.

••••••••••••••••••••••••

Oh my …..
Reading this, you will need plenty of ice 😉

I do love this series, it keeps springing those surprises on a girl.

And Dre and Landry are a mighty fine surprise.

Their blue moon bride won’t know what has hit her, these boys do EVERYTHING together “wink”

They are given the task of retrieving the packs next blue moon bride. And they need to use the owner if the boat to get closer to her. And the twist in this story, is that they are drawn towards Mary and not their intended target.

We still have the vamp angle, and there is still no redeeming quality to these bad guys.

Mary is a great character, she a little bit of a loner. She is happy with her own company, but seeing the Breaux boys together, makes her want more from her solitary life.

The tension between these three makes for a great read. And the twists in this book makes it and even better read than the first.

Claimed by the Pack

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk/ Barnes and Noble / KOBO /

The rising of the Blue Moon will lead the Pack to their destined mates… but some women are hard to claim.

Alpha to the bone, Cajun shifter Dag Breaux must find his Blue Moon bride to preserve his humanity. Each passing day sees him lost further and further in the shift, more wolf than man. Emotions and feelings are foreign territory for Dag and all he has to offer his newfound female is raw, passionate sex and protection from the centuries-old vampire stalking the Louisiana bayou.

Bayou mechanic Riley Jones stands on her own two feet. Always. She doesn’t need or want Dag’s infuriating brand of protection. Plus, she has secrets of her own that she’s desperate to keep. But there’s no denying the passion that burns between them and in the arms of her rough and tough shifter she discovers a darkly sensuous, no-holds-barred loving. When the vampire threatens Riley’s nearest and dearest, she must ask herself if resisting Dag’s mate claim is worth losing everything she cares about… or if teaching her wolf to love is worth the risk.

•••••••••••••••••••••••

This series continues to delight and surprise me. And I have to admit that the 3rd book is my favourite so far.

Dag has been my wounded soul from the very start. And as you ladies know, I do like a wounded soul 🙂 Dag is losing his humanity a little more each day, he finds it hard to remain in his human form, and knows it will only be a matter of time, before he goes completely feral 🙁

So he is sent to retrieve the 3rd blue moon bride. She has been captured by a vamp, who wants to use her as bait to trap a wolf. Only this bride is capable of more than just being a bride, A WHOLE LOT MORE. You need to read to find out 😉 lol

Riley has had to manage older brothers all her life, so one pesky wolf shouldn’t be a problem. But as she finds out, Dag is prepared to do anything to keep this lady for the pack, although he is hoping she is his mate, as he desperately needs his female to balance him out.

So …….

All three books NEED to be read in order. You read them as stand alones, but it gives you more to the series if read together.

And talking of series, I’m hoping this fabulous author continues with this series. And is secretly hoping Rileys brothers each get a book 😉

BAYOU NOEL (Bayou Heat Novella 8.5) by Laura Wright

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 2013

Tis the season for new beginnings:
Molly has spent her last Christmas alone. After waiting five years for Garrick to notice her as more than his mother’s caregiver. The aggravating male might always have a place in her heart, but she’s determined to find someone who wants to build a family with her. She had no idea that writing a letter of resignation would bring Garrick back to the Wildlands.

It will take a Christmas miracle to bring them together:
Garrick can’t believe that Molly is willing to walk away. She’d not only become irreplaceable to his mother, but he’d become addicted to her letters when he was far away from home. He’d be damned if he was going to let her slip away. But once back in the Wildlands, Garrick is forced to choose between opening his heart to the female he loves or risk losing her forever.

REVIEW: BAYOU NOEL is the latest instalment in the BAYOU HEAT paranormal, romance series written by Laura Wright and Alexandra Ivy. The focus of the series is on a group of panther shifters known as the Pantera and their need to find mates. Without a suitable mate, the Pantera species is dying and with it comes an attack from the outside. But this is a prequel novella-one that focuses on a Pantera Healer –Molly and the Pantera Suit-Garrick. As the holidays draw near, Garrick learns that his mother’s aid and Healer Molly has turned in her resignation following five years of service.

The storyline follows Molly as she is resigned to the fact that the man with whom she has fallen in love refuses to acknowledge her existence. Five years of caring for his mother, Molly believes she has become no more than an indentured servant and wants to find someone who will love her in return.

Garrick is an Alpha male who believes he is not worthy of a mate and family and, ignores the obvious (like many men will do). But when Molly shuts the door for the final time, Garrick knows that the only woman for him is the one who walked away.

BAYOU NOEL is a quick read; an endearing storyline about two people who are perfect for one another but as usual one is oblivious to the heat and attraction. This is a story set several years earlier and spans the globe from Paris to New Orleans. It is a welcome read and one that will make you smile when our couple light a holiday candle to family and a happily ever after.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 23, 2013

Three years ago, after Grave lost his mate Amnilia to a human poacher, he tried to denounce his title as Prince of the Bloodclaw Clan, the largest pack of werewolves in Arkansas. Determined to never become involved in pack business again, Grave left to join the human world with his bodyguard and best friend. On a nightly jog, Grave meets a tough and sassy huntress with a vengeance against werewolves like nothing the prince has ever seen before. He finds her most intriguing and, though he was warned to stay away from her, Grave finds himself drawn to her. Knowing he needs to be around her, Grave convinces the huntress he’s human.

When an old enemy comes to town and sees Grave and Sam together, he marks Sam as his next target. To protect her, Grave has to tell her the truth about himself. In doing so Grave will be risking turning her wrath against werewolves on him and ruin any chance Grave has at finding happiness after Amnilia’s death-but it also might just save her life.

•••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: CROSS MY HEART is the first instalment in Grace Deleesie’s new contemporary, adult paranormal Wolfe Lodge series focusing on the Bloodclaw Clan of werewolves. This is Grave and Sam’s story. Grave is the Prince, first in the royal line of werewolves and Sam is the huntress who stalks and destroys the very thing that Grave (is). Sam lost her younger half-brother to the wolf and with it came a vendetta against their kind. Thinking she has saved Grave from an attack, Sam will soon discover that Grave is much more than he professes to be.

The introductory storyline is very long, very detailed and awash in the back story, history, rules and regulations and, laws governing the dos and don’ts of a patriarchal society run by the Alpha male, the royal family and the guardians under their command. We are witness to Grave’s friendship with his best friend and ‘Hash’ (bodyguard) Phax; Sam’s relentless hunt for the werewolf; and Grave’s need for the woman who calls to his inner beast. Sam’s deep-rooted hatred of the werewolves forces Grave to keep his identity a secret and with it will come betrayal, heartbreak and the loss of one’s mate.

Grace Deleesie has written a storyline that will see the prince lose his mate-not once-but twice. He is a man whose heart and soul will be crushed by the very woman with whom he has fallen in love and in the end he must allow said woman to walk away. This is not a story with a hearts and flower ending, but a story where one man must face an uncertain future when his mate is so focused on her own wants and needs that she will place the Bloodclaw Clan and wolves into an uncertain future.

Sam is on a mission and she refuses to acknowledge that anything so vile as a werewolf could have emotions and feelings. She is a woman determined to eradicate the species one wolf at a time and her unwillingness to compromise sets the tone for the character’s drive and sense of duty-in this- she was not necessarily a easy character to love.

CROSS MY HEART is an interesting look at a werewolf society governed by an hierarchy of royalty where exposure to the humans is almost as dangerous as the rogue wolves who threaten their own kind. Grace Deleesie writes an edgy storyline where one woman has the ability to destroy a man and a prince with her inability to accept the truth behind the werewolves and their need for a mate. And when said woman walks away she will destroy what is left of a man whose only sin is to fall in love with the woman who hates the very thing he was born to be.

••••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: DARKNESS AWAKENED is the introductory storyline in Katie Reus’s new paranormal adult series-Darkness. This is Finn Stavros (Alpha wolf shifter) and Lyra Marius’s (pureblood vampire) story and one that began seventeen years earlier.

Darkness Awakened is a story about forbidden love and second chances for two people from different species that have more in common than anyone could have known. It has been close to seventeen years since Lyra was pushed away by the only man she has ever loved and the hurt has only increased in the ensuing years. But Finn knew that to enter into a permanent relationship with a vampire could bring about her death at the hands of his then pack alpha and uncle. To protect Lyra, Finn walked away without explanation and Lyra suffered additional rejection when her vampire coven threw her out.

The relationship and attraction between Lyra and Finn is one that has never waivered in all of their years of separation. Finn has always known that Lyra was his mate but her subsequent disappearance left Finn wondering what had truly happened to the woman he had loved.

The premise to the storyline follows the approach of Samhain and the eclipse. A powerful vampire intends to open a portal to Hell and Lyra’s daughter has the perfect blood. When Vega goes missing, Lyra begs Finn for his aid and in the end, the truth about Vega’s true heritage will be revealed to all.

Katie introduces a cast of secondary characters from pack and coven members to a long forgotten species that is larger than life. When the portal to Hell opens, it will take a tentative peace between shifters and vampires to ensure that the world in which they both live is safe for everyone. The reader is pulled into a world where the paranormal is real and the lives of everyone are threatened when a vampire takes control of a young woman whose only sin was to go looking for the father she never knew.

If you are a fan of the paranormal; stories with a little bit of mystery and suspense; and a sensual romance between two people that are perfect for each other than Katie’s new DARKNESS series and DARKNESS AWAKENED is the perfect read.

ABOUT THE BOOK: RELEASE DATE August 6, 2013

The last thing dragon shifter Stig Wyvern needs is his dead friend’s kid sister showing up on his doorstep. He’s just minutes away from entering a mating phase. Sharing his isolated house with the young woman he’s desperately lusted after for quite some time is a recipe for disaster.

But Cora Cardenas has nowhere else to go. She’s in deep trouble with some really nasty people and Stig is the only one who can protect her. That he’s deliciously sexy and makes her tingle with the simplest of smiles is just a bonus.

Cora quickly realizes Stig is hiding something from her. To make matters worse, she’s plagued with breathtakingly naughty dreams starring a shadowed lover who bears a startling resemblance to her host. And just what the hell is going on down in the basement at night?

Stig needs to get Cora out of his house but his inner beast has other ideas. He’s found his mate and she’s not going anywhere…

•••••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: DEAD SEXY DRAGON is the first storyline in Lolita Lopez’s new paranormal dragon shifter Dragon Heat series of novellas. This is Stig and Cora’s storyline and because it is a novella, the world and character building are limited but the information revealed is enough for an introductory novel.

Stig is entering his mating cycle and the last things he needs is the woman who has called to his heart for the last number of years. As the sister of his deceased best friend, Stig has always kept a hands off policy with regards to Cora, but on this night, his heart as well as his dragon know only one thing-that Cora will be his.

But to add complication to the scenario, Cora is basically on the run. Following the death of her brother and her grandmother, in a short time span, Cora found herself facing a few problems including a large amount of debt and some nasty people willing to make her work to pay off the money that she owed. Running to Stig seemed like the only viable option and Cora would discover that there is more to the man that she loves than the mysterious and guarded former soldier.

Dead Sexy Dragon is a fast paced, introductory storyline that reveals some of the background information about the dragon history and the Knights trying to end their lives. At war for centuries, the Knights are closing in on the few remaining dragons and Stig and Cora are their latest targets.

We are quickly introduced to a few other dragons including the leader Ignatius, Madoc and Grif who will each have a story of their own to tell.

The sexual tension is high as Stig refuses to allow his dragon the need to mate. But something inside Cora calls to Stig and not only do they dance around each other but their nightly psychic visits are as real as any fantasy can get. The sex scenes are hot and steamy and, in the end, you will discover that Cora and Stig were made for each other.

Lolita Lopez blends the paranormal with the contemporary and allows the reader to experience the terror of losing one’s mate all in the name of a war fought to keep the memory of a forbidden love alive.

Hunter's Heart

ORDER:  Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk/ Barnes and Noble / KOBO /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 3, 2013

The Alpha Pack series features a team of special ops heroes who are shifters with Psy abilities, and use their powers to track the world’s most dangerous predators. Each of our heroes will find his mate, and each will be hotter and more dangerous than the last.

A group of former Navy SEALS, the Alpha Pack is a top secret team of wolf shifters with Psy powers combating the greatest dangers in the world. And when the battle gets personal, their wild side is unleashed….

Ryon Hunter sees dead people—spirits that beg him for help in ways he can’t understand. He’d do anything to end the torment, until a beautiful spirit appears to him with a plea he can’t ignore: Help me…I’m alive. The woman is wildlife biologist Daria Bradford, mortally wounded after encountering a white wolf, calling to Ryon through a rare Psy gift.

When Ryon locates Daria in the Shoshone National Park, it is almost too late, but nursing her back to health at the Alpha Pack compound brings a new complication—Daria is his destined mate, and Ryon is afraid of what will happen when she discovers what he is, and what he had to do to save her life. But the biggest threat of all is still loose in the forest, leaving a merciless trail of death behind it. The Alpha Pack goes on the hunt for the mysterious white wolf, determined to stop the murderous rogue… only to find that the most lethal creature of all is the one they can’t see coming…

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: HUNTER’S HEART is the fourth full length novel and fifth storyline in J.D.Tyler’s Alpha Pack series focusing on a top secret team of shifters with Psy powers and abilities. This is Ryon and Daria’s story. For a more detailed character breakdown, check out J.D. Tyler’s website HERE.

As the blurb states, Ryon sees dead people-he is a channeler and a telepath. Following a near fatal injury, Ryon will find himself face to spirit with the astral projection of his future mate. Only his future mate has been injured and time is running out.

As the storyline proceeds, Ryon and the Alpha Pack will uncover a much more sinister monster created by their one time nemesis and in doing so will begin to understand that during the search and rescue months earlier, someone or something, escaped. When Ryon and Daria are sent on a mission to locate the missing piece of the puzzle, they will find themselves confronting an all too familiar face.

HUNTER’S HEART and the Alpha Pack series premise are similar to Christine Feehan’s Ghostwalker Series. A group of psychic Navy Seals has been biologically enhanced and experimentally forced into a lifestyle not of their choosing and in doing so, must hunt for the people responsible. Along the way, each will find the one person who is their soul-mate, their bond-mate and their happily ever after. But before any of this is possible, our heroes and heroines will face their ultimate fear-betrayal and mistrust.

The relationship between Ryon and Daria is quick to develop as Ryon knows that Daria is his mate. Daria readily accepts the psychic research facility and all of its people, as well as her new found ability to shift. There are moments when Daria feels betrayed but because of the bond-mate tie, there is little question that they belong together. The sex scenes are sensual, erotic and hot.

The storyline is fast paced and the writing style is simple. J.D.Tyler, by way of character recounting and flashbacks, keeps the current storyline connected to the series with reference to previous incidences and plots which allows the reader some cohesion between books and a buildup of potential future novels. In this, a new reader to the series is not necessarily struggling. But I would recommend checking out the Alpha Pack character guide on JD Tyler’s website as a refresher. I like that JD includes much of the backstory and history of the Alpha Pack with each storyline but I would recommend reading the series in order.

J.D.’s books regularly appear on the Neilson Bookscan, Barnes and Noble, BooksOnBoard, and Amazon bestseller lists, among others, and she was recently named by BooksOnBoard as their #1 Bestselling Romance Author.

When she isn’t writing, J.D.’s idea of a good time certainly isn’t cleaning house (sniff), bungee jumping (not in this lifetime, or the next), or camping (her idea of “roughing it” is a slow bellboy). She enjoys reading, being pampered like the diva she is, and spending time with her awesome family. J.D. lives in Texas with her two teenagers. Visit her website at www.JDTyler.com.
