ABOUT THE BOOK : Release Date October 17, 2025

My biggest rival is the father of my child. He just doesn’t know it yet.

Sleeping with my family’s enemy wasn’t planned. Oops. Too late.

It was a one-night stand in Costa Rica, and names were the last thing we wanted to exchange. What can I say? The man was hot as sin.

Blue-sky eyes.Broad, athletic shoulders.A smile that just about did me in.

I came home with more than his cowboy hat as a souvenir.Four years later, that sweet memento calls me Mommy.

I’m a busy single mom helping to run the Dover empire. The last thing I need is a vacation fling showing up wearing the one name on the back of his baseball jersey that’s forbidden by my family. Greene.

Annoyingly arrogant.Infuriatingly irritating.A smirk on his stupidly handsome face. Just my luck when I need to break the news, he’s my son’s father.

He came to play baseball, not be a dad, so I have no intention of getting me and our son caught up in his game. But even the strongest walls have faults, and when we start spending time together, mine begin to crumble.

Is the universe giving us a second chance or are we caught up in a small-town frenzy?

Small Town Frenzy is a spicy, sports, rivals to lovers, surprise child, cowboy, small town romance where he falls first and hard. This hometown hero book is a complete stand-alone.

••••••••

REVIEW: “Small Town Frenzy” is a blend of sports, romance, and the small-town life that keeps us on the edge of their seats. S.L. Scott writes an engaging story that draws you into the whirlwind of emotions experienced by its heroine, who finds herself at the intersection of love, rivalry, and motherhood.

The story is based around a one-night stand in Costa Rica that leads to a surprise child.

Cricket, a busy single mom, faces the challenges of raising her son while running the family business. The surprise twist of her son’s father, (her once hot and enigmatic fling) returning as a rival player adds tension and excitement to the storyline.

The dynamic between them is electric, filled with unresolved feelings, witty banter, and sizzling chemistry. The essence of small-town life, where everyone knows each other, and past grievances linger just beneath the surface is done really well.

Cricket’s struggle to keep her son away from the man who could disrupt their lives makes this an interesting read. The walls she built to protect her heart are tested throughout the book, leading to emotional moments that are both heartwarming and heart wrenching!

Why is Griffin back? He was doing well as a baseball player ? (Keep reading 😉) And what’s a guy to do or say when presented with a face from his past and a small reminder of what they did?!

The pacing is well balanced, with enough humor and spice that kept me reading way past my bedtime 😉 The author’s vivid descriptions transport you right into the small town and onto the baseball field, making you feel the tension and excitement of every encounter between the main characters. I loved how Cricket loved her son, he was the center of her world.

The author delivers a fulfilling and spicy romance that combines elements of sports and family drama in a small-town setting. The playful rivalry mixed with heartfelt moments makes it a delightful read. If you’re a fan of rivals-to-lovers tales, surprise children, and strong characters, this standalone novel is sure to tick all the boxes.

This is the third (and I believe) and final book in this trilogy. No need to read books 1 & 2 before this one. But I did (and loved them both) and although sad to leave this small town, I’m going to carry Griffin and Cricket around with me for a while 💜

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 1, 2025

It didn’t take long for news to spread that Tagger Grange was back in Peachtree Pass. I found out even faster when I fell right into his arms—not by choice.

The barstool wobbled under me when reaching for a cheddar biscuit. They’re my weakness. Much like he used to be.

Rolled up sleeves and tailored pants have replaced the boots and jeans my brother’s best friend once wore. But it’s not just the clothes that have changed. His shoulders are broader and he’s broodier. Somehow, he’s even more handsome than ever.

And seeing the little boy smiling at his side? My heart instantly melts. I can’t handle Tagger as a hot single dad.

Since he has no plans to stay, I know it’s best to avoid him. But daily run-ins at Rollingwood Ranch make him hard to ignore, and even harder to walk away.

His heated glances warm my insides, his smile awakens my dormant heart, and one stormy night leads to crossing lines we vowed we wouldn’t.

But when falling in the hay turns into falling in love, I start to wonder if our happy ending is a long time coming. Or will he return to the city leaving me with a broken heart?

REVIEW:

“Long Time Coming” by SL Scott is a tale that combines the elements of small town charm, forbidden love, and family loyalty. The story pulls us into the heart of Peachtree Pass, where emotions run high and connections are both powerful and perilous.

At the center of the story is Christine “Pris”, who struggles with her feelings for Tagger Grange, her brother’s best friend, upon his return to town. Their chemistry is electric right from the start, heated glances and lingering touches.

And when a night spent together in the hay leads to crossing the lines they both promised not to, we are taken on an emotional rollercoaster ride.

SL Scott’s writing is engaging, drawing us into the characters’ emotional journeys, she skillfully navigates the tension between the thrill of new love and the weight of obligation, creating a plot that kept me on the edge of me seat.

His dedication to his son makes him more than just a love interest, he’s a devoted father trying to find his place in both his son’s life and in Christine’s heart. Their interactions are tender and heartfelt, it’s definitely a slow burning romance.

The backdrop of Peachtree Pass is just where I’d like to live. The vivid descriptions definitely give us the small town feel.

The author’s ability to blend humor and heartfelt moments gives the story a perfect balance. The light-hearted banter between characters injects fun and warmth, while the steamy and emotional scenes serve to heighten the stakes, making the us root for their happy ending.

“Long Time Coming” is a delightful romantic read that hits all the sweet spots for fans of contemporary romance. With likeable characters, a charming small-town setting, and the excitement of forbidden love, this story hits all the right spots.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 24, 2025

Sometimes the temptation is too much to deny. Falling into bed with my best friend’s brother was an accident. What happened right after… not so much.

With abs more defined than the Texas Hill Country and a killer smirk I can’t ignore, the “boy next door” is all grown up and too hot for his own good. My heart races for a man who’s forbidden. My breath catches each time his hand brushes against mine.

His heated glances melt me, leading me closer to temptation.

One night together has us desperate for more. But we have no desire to give this small town something to talk about—or worse, upset his sister.

But when a new tyrant of a landlord threatens my family’s business, I need a miracle.

Call it a marriage of convenience or a friendly favor, but he comes through for me. The diamond ring on my finger gets me out of a jam but also has us confronting our feelings.

Did I just make a deal with the devil? Or am I actually falling in love with my husband?

••••••

REVIEW: In “Lead Me Knot,” SL Scott combines sharp wit and sizzling chemistry to create a delightful ranch romance set in the quaint town of Peachtree Pass. This engaging sequel captures the essence of small town charm while tackling the complexities of unexpected love.

I’ve not read the first book, do you need to? I don’t think you do, although I did like the book (so I guess I’ll be coming back soon 😉)

Peachtree Pass is a tight-knit community (I do love a small town romance 🥰) Friendships flourish, gossip abounds, and the stakes feel real as both Baylor and Lauralee maneuver through their complicated feelings and the judgment of their neighbors. (Keeping this relationship a secret from his sister/her best friend is proving tricky to say the least!)

Lauralee finds herself in a bind, and what seems like a casual marriage of convenience turns into something much more. The characters are well written, with their playful banter, it did make me chuckle at the one liners they would throw at each other 😂 You could feel the tension between the main characters, balancing the thrill of newfound feelings with the complications of their situation, deeper emotions start to evolve, will this deal lead to heartbreak, or can it blossom into true love?

Overall, “Lead Me Knot” is a heartfelt and entertaining read, perfect for those who enjoy stories about love, friendship, and the unexpected turns life can take.

The blend of humor, romance, and small town charm makes me add the next book to my TBR. 😉

A delightful blend of romance and community, this book will tug at your heartstrings and keep you smiling long after the last page.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 14, 2024

It was always you, babe.

A Slow Burn, Surprise Pregnancy, Second Chance, Rock Star, Standalone Romance from S.L. Scott, a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author.

The hottest rock star in the world walking into my work wasn’t on my bingo card. Speak of the devil .

My soon-to-be ex-husband.

Shane Faris is taller than I remember. Scruffier. More attractive than ever and sporting a sinful smirk that tells me he hears “Yes” too much. Figures.

He offers me the divorce I want, but on one condition . . .

A weekend together, for old times’ sake.

He’s partied his way through time zones, collecting ink on his skin to commemorate events I wasn’t a part of. While I struggled to earn my degrees, Shane chased fame and made memories without me.

It’s time to move on.

So why does his presence cause my heart to kick up a beat and my cheeks to blush when he sends me a wink? I can’t resist him. And he is my husband, after all, if only for a few more days.

When that weekend becomes two lines on a pregnancy test, we must decide whether this is a second chance worth taking together.

••••••

REVIEW: Rockstar Romance/Second Chance Romances/Unexpected Pregnancy tropes aren’t my usual go to reads. I have to be in the mood. And Rockstar Romances are a relatively new trope to me. But I love S.L. Scott’s work, and I’d read the first book in this series (Never Have I Ever) which I loved.

Catalina is a nurse, who loves her job and patients. She’s worked hard to get there, and when an opportunity to buy her own home arises, Cate jumps at the chance. Only problem…. Her husband!!!

Shane is a drummer in a rock band. He’s loving life and all the perks that come with it. Receiving a few messages from a name he hasn’t thought of in a while piques his interest, so he heads out to find out more…..

Cate and Shane have no idea how they are actually married, they connected in high school and had one conversation and a kiss. So both are stunned to find out they are legally married! Who did this? And why? Cate is going to lose her dream home if this doesn’t get sorted. And if the paparazzi find out about Shane and Cate, it’s going to be a media nightmare!! (Shane doesn’t want that for Cate.) Just when you think it’s all going to be ok, Shane up and leaves…. 🤔 and at that point I just wanted to put the story down! I thought there was a connection, I’ll admit I was a little disappointed!

But in the meantime, Shane has been thinking, he’s ready for commitment, he’s ready to claim Cate as his. Only one problem, the way he left, he doesn’t think she will give him another chance! It’s time to up his game if he wants the girl. So how do they proceed?

Well….. Shane proposes a weekend together, then the divorce will be settled and they will be free to go their own ways!

Then the unthinkable happens…. An unplanned pregnancy!! Shane and Cate want kids, but just not yet! Their relationship is being taken slowly, and a child might not be the right thing right this minute. So what happens next?

I did like the two epilogues. They made me smile. And a great way to end a really good book.

The banter between these two had me chuckling, and the chemistry had me reaching for 🧊 😉 it was definitely a he falls first, I feel. And Shane does his best to get Cate to feel the same way.

Will Shane and Cate get their once in a lifetime love? Or will it just be a fun weekend memory? Can they walk away even though it was a fake marriage?

Lots of emotions, medium angst, and me thinking Cate really shouldn’t have given Shane such an easy pass…. maybe a little more grovelling 😉

I didn’t want to give too much away, as I hate reading reviews with huge spoilers. But I will recommend this book if you love the author, and like your romance with a slow burn, but lots of great moments. And I can’t wait to read the next book in the series (and maybe get to see more of Cate/Shane.)

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 1, 2024

She can’t remember. He can’t forget.

~~~
Flat on my back is not how I imagined meeting my new boss and hot-as-sin rock star. But here I am . . .
If I didn’t already have amnesia, I’d be wishing for it now.
In my defense, Laird Faris was only wearing a shameless smirk and a towel wrapped around his chiseled abs when we met.
Brooding.
Devastatingly handsome.
Utterly intolerable.
Naturally, I’m instantly attracted to him.
It’s not only his broad shoulders and gorgeous face that wreck my equilibrium, but also a distinct tattoo on his chest that matches one on my hip.
Our chemistry is off the charts.
Searing kisses make his grumpiness bearable.
Every touch we share is full of fire and flashes of memories, making me wonder if our connection isn’t destiny after all.
But do the secrets he hides behind his icy blue eyes have something to do with the weekend I can’t remember and the past he can’t forget?
•••••••
REVIEW:A second chance at romance it’s not one of my favourite genres, but reading the blurb had me reaching for my kindle to read it. And I’m glad I did…..
They were going to be together forever, that’s what Laird and Poppy had planned, until fate crashed and burned!! Leaving Laird waiting by the tour bus……
A bitter and empty Laird goes through the emotions (all except love, that’s firmly left him!) and for two years he never forgot the girl with the matching tattoo!
Poppy wanted to go with Laird, and maybe if she’s gone with him there and then, she wouldn’t have gotten into a car crash! Waking with amnesia, Poppy forgot all about the love waiting for her…..
We skip two years…..
Fate brings the couple back together, Laird wants to know why she didn’t return to him? When he finds out she has amnesia and that’s why she didn’t come with him. Laird sets about making Poppy fall for him all over again. But he’s facing a dilemma! Does he blurt out they knew each other before, or does he let nature take its course?
Such an amazing read. I fell in love with Laird from almost the beginning (Poppy took a little longer!)
Quote from the book “She can’t remember. I can’t forget.” 😌
It’s a little slow burn at first, but we definitely get the heat as the book progresses 😉
Poppy is a chef to the stars, Laird is hiding from the world in a cabin. And when they meet, Laird is angry that Poppy doesn’t remember him! They argue, she leaves, he rescues her, they have a tentative truce!
Fate brings the couple back together, Laird wants to know why she didn’t return to him? When he finds out she has amnesia and that’s why she didn’t come with him. Laird sets about making Poppy fall for him all over again. But he’s facing a dilemma! Does he blurt out they knew each other before, or does he let nature take its course?
As time goes by, Poppy gets snippets of her past! Will she remember what they had together?
It’s part of a series, I’ve not read any of the others, but I’ve now added them to my TBR list 😉
A great read, and one I highly recommend.
ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 10, 2022.
It started with a kiss.
Admittedly, it was a moment of weakness on my part. But even the strong-willed have been known to fall for a hard body underneath a tailored suit and a five o’clock shadow coating a sharp jawline.
It didn’t matter that Jackson St. James was nothing but trouble. Trouble was just my type.
Been there.
Done him.
Not making that mistake again.
We were friends, a low-key affair we designed ourselves—over before we began. After all, together we made no sense.
Jackson is into sports. I prefer the arts.
He gulps beer. I sip champagne.
While I might not be described as humble, his arrogance is through the roof.
But when he asks if we can talk, my traitorous Louboutins come to a full stop. Although I’ve seen enough movies to know how these conversations go, maybe, just maybe, he’ll surprise me.
He has before . . .
We may have started with a kiss, but how will we end?
•••••
REVIEW:It started with a kiss….
A cute little RomCom that will have you sighing one moment, then rolling your eyes at both the main characters antics! Comedy moments are plenty, banter and great scenes will face to rapidly turning pages to find out what happens next.
I fell in love with both Marlow and Jackson. He’s successful, he’s a bit of a player, but he’s a stead fast friend to Marlow. Marlow is struggling to make ends meet, and when she’s evicted from her home on New Year’s Eve there is only one person she can turn too…
Friends to lovers story that is low on angst. Really nicely done. I couldn’t put the book down until it was done.
Reading how Jackson wants more than just friends with benefits, but with Marlow having financial and family issues it makes her wary of giving more to Jackson. But he’s patient, he’s not going anywhere, he’ll prove to Marlow that he’s here for her forever.
The side characters were great, they will have you hoping to read more of their lives at some point.
So if your looking for a story that’s low on angst, but with plenty of banter and hot times, then grab It started with a kiss, you’ll be glad you did. I was, and I’ll be rereading it again and again.
ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 25, 2022
The storm.
The man.
Both come without warning.
My heart opens to Cooper Haywood the moment we meet. How can it resist? He’s charming, devastatingly handsome, and sweeps me off my feet before I realize the impact he’s making. And then it’s too late.
We fall too fast to worry about the consequences.
We love so hard that we ache when we’re apart.
Even though I have a past that still haunts me and he has a future that could put us at risk, none of that matters when we’re together.
Until it does.
And then everything changes.
Although the best thing he ever gave me now calls me Mommy, I can’t help but wonder if Cooper Haywood and that fateful storm were one and the same.
••••••
REVIEW:This is a new author to me and one I’d not heard of before. This story is told in three parts no cliffhanger, and as Cooper likes to quote its his life before and after meeting Story.
Cooper Haywood has it all, but he’s constantly fighting with his family, he’s generous, thoughtful and genuine (not at all like his family) I liked we got to see his side of the story.
Story Salenger is a great character, not coming from a great background it’s made her see things in a different light, but I wouldn’t call her bitter, she’s resilient, she’s resourceful and she was great to read about.
There is drama, heartache and sadness. But there is also joy, love (of a different kind) and we get to see how each character has grown through the book.
First part of the book: I loved, it told of their story, how close and how wrapped up in one another they were (almost instalove feel)
Second part of the book: I found a little slower and a bit repetitive.
The third and final part of this book: Not nearly as long as I would of liked. But when they finally catch up with one another, I couldn’t put it down.
Secrets and hidden pasts weren’t really necessary in my opinion (felt they were for drama purposes) the storyline was strong enough to carry it without them.
So will I recommend this book? Definitely. It’s really well written, thought out and carried out with lots of care and consideration.
I’m going to add this author to my ever growing list of new and to watch authors.
