ABOUT THE BOOK : Release Date July 17, 2025
The rock star never planned on fatherhood. The nanny never planned on staying. But sometimes the biggest surprises come wrapped in pink bows and second chances.
Gavin “Rocket” Caldwell, member of the world’s biggest rock band, lives fast—sold-out tours, wild nights, and zero responsibilities. Until a three-year old daughter he never knew about lands on his doorstep, and suddenly, the party’s over.
Willow Adams is hired to help him adjust to being a dad—a steady, grounded nanny with a soft heart and a quiet strength he can’t ignore. She’s nothing like the women he’s used to. And maybe that’s exactly why he can’t stay away.
What starts as a temporary arrangement turns into something deeper, just as a custody battle threatens to take it all away. Rocket never wanted to be a father. But now? He’ll fight like hell—for the adorable little girl who changed everything, and the unexpected woman he never saw coming.

REVIEW:SWEET DISTRACTION is the third instalment and fourth book in K. Bromberg’s contemporary, adult BACKSTAGE PASS erotic, rock romance series. This is pianist Gavin ‘Rocket’ Caldwell, and nanny Willow Adams’ story line. SWEET DISTRACTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory story and cohesion.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Rocket and Willow) SWEET DISTRACTION follows in the wake of the arrival of rock star Gavin ‘Rocket’ Caldwell’s love child, a three year old girl he knew nothing about. Along with his daughter Poppy, the arrival of her nanny Willow Adams is about to shake up the man who has lived the proverbial rockstar life but the more he gets to know both Poppy and Willow, the more Rocket realizes, fatherhood is what he was meant to be. A custody battle is about to ensue when other family members come out of the woods, and Rocket’s relationship with Willow will become fodder for the paparazzi, and fuel for the people demanding to take away the daughter he has grown to love.
The world building follows the building relationship between Willow and Rocket, as well as Rocket and the daughter he never knew. Poppy tragically lost her only weeks before, and is struggling to a new family and a father she has never met but Willow’s place in their lives establishes the boundaries and heights to which everyone must accept in the face of grief and loss.
The relationship between Willow and Rocket begins as a business arrangement when Poppy arrives with her live-in nanny. From the outset Willow and Rocket’s attraction to one another is palpable but Poppy will always come first, and in this, Willow’s place in their lives may be the catalyst that threatens their future going forward. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of ver the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting character include the return of Rocket’s band mates and their significant others; Rocket’s attorney, as well as his three year old daughter Poppy.
SWEET DISTRACTION is a story of loss and grief, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is emotional and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are broken, struggling and charismatic.
