Review:

Law of Attraction by Alison Bliss is the 3rd book in her Tangled in Texas series.

Bobbie Jo was a secondary character in previous books, so I was pleased to see her get her own story.  Bobbie Jo is a small town girl and devoted single mom. She doesn’t have time to find a replacement father for her son Austin. She’s concentrating on her new bed and breakfast business. And when she’s offered a pair of hands to help with renovations, she reluctantly agrees, but isn’t prepared for Seth.

Seth is the perfect book boyfriend (strong, witty banter, great with kids, kind to animals, handsome, and comes with all his own tools)   His past may come back to haunt him, and will it put his new happiness at risk?   (A previous operation put a hostage in a bad situation and Seth is just waiting for the opportunity to exact revenge, so he hasn’t got time for a romantic interlude) 

I enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters, the suspense, and the author’s imaginative storytelling.  Her son Austin, is a riot, at only 4 years old the author gave him such a character and most of the laughs were his. 

It’s a cute little read, and can be done in one afternoon.

Review:

Playing With Fire is the second book in Alison Bliss‘ Tangled in Texas series. I haven’t read the first book, but I didn’t think that is was a problem, as it read well as a standalone.

Anna moved into the small town for the position of being the owner of a library, but what her friends don’t know is that she’s really hiding from a man that wants her and only her, so she hopes to settle down and hide here, but she knows deep down that she may have to run and hide again, so Anna is wary and frightened of any new relationships. Anna is soft but she definitely speaks her mind when she has to and she’s not afraid to do that with a pushy but smokin’ fireman called cowboy. 

Cowboy is not only a fire fighter but the he’s their captain. He’s a smooth talker, a playboy, and definitely one you need to be on the lookout for. But underneath, he’s a sweet caring man that just wants more out of his relationships. When he meets the librarian he realizes that she is just what he needs, too bad she’s not interested. 

So his interest doubles. He ups his game, and it’s funny to listen to all the put downs that Anna has for him.  I laughed throughout this whole book, at Cowboy’s attempts of trying  to win Anna over and Anna finding a way after time after time to douse those flames.

All the characters were very well developed, and the plot progressed well with the story. The whodunnit part, I thought was a little predictable, but I’m not going to give anything away. 

The one lingering question that will be on my mind is…. What is Cowboy’s real name? Will we find out in book three? 

I am looking forward to book three in the Tangled in Texas series.  And I may just have to go and look for book one.
