AVA

Ava Bristow has been running away her whole life.
Away from rules and restrictions.
Away from the abuse that marred her life so long ago.
A nomad at heart,
She has nothing and no one but herself to fall back on.
It isn’t until a motorcycle accident lands her in a New York City hospital, and far away from her small town in Iowa, that she finally gets a wake-up call.
Life has a way of presenting opportunities in the most unexpected ways,
and in her path lies a choice that may change her life forever,
and three loves who may offer her exactly what her heart needs to heal.

An MC Reverse Harem Romance that serves as an introduction to the author’s VTwin Valkyries MC

••••••

REVIEW:TANGLED WEB is the first instalment and novella in Crimson Syn’s contemporary, adult V-TWIN VALKYRIE MC erotic, reverse harem, series, and the fourth instalment in the multi-authored LOVED BY THREE series. This is former super model Ava Bristow, Snake, Crush and Tritan’s story line. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Hellbound Lovers MC

NOTE: TANGLED WEB is a reverse harem romance with sexual situations involving one woman and three men.

Told from four first person points of view (Ava, Snake, Crush and Tritan) TANGLED WEB follows super model Ava Bristow as she finds herself on the run from her agent Keith, a man whose betrayal ran ugly and deep. With the help of her friend, Ava headed to New York City to meet the women of the V-Twin Valkyrie MC, when an accident landed not only our heroine, but Snake, a member of the Fallen Kings MC in the hospital. Everything quickly spirals out of control, and Ava finds herself ‘owing’ the Fallen Kings for saving her life, a debt in which she will have to betray someone close. Ava quickly discovers that life with the MC is more than she could have ever imagined when not only Snake falls quickly, but his MC brothers Crush and Tritan see a possible future with our story line heroine. What ensues is the quick building and erotic relationship between Ava and Snake,Crush and Tritan, and the potential fall-out as Ava must betray a friendship in the hopes of paying off a debt to the Fallen Kings MC.

Meanwhile, the V-Twin Valkyrie MC, a women run/only MC, find themselves facing a possible war with the Russian Bratva, and our heroine is caught in the cross-fire.

The relationship between Ava and the three men with whom she will fall in love is an erotic, sexual explicit and intense affair including one on one, and four way sexual situations as well as some ‘daddy’ romance. Ava learns there is nothing off-limits with the men that she loves, and quickly finds herself surrounded by her very own protectors and guardians.

We are introduced to Fallen Kings MC president Kremlin (aka Adrian Desnokov), as well as Stiletto and Phoenix (aka Ryder Stone) of the V-Twin Valkyries.

TANGLED WEB is a quick read; a fast paced, insta-lust to love, erotic, reverse harem novella that introduces the reader to Crimson Syn’s new V-Twin Valkyrie MC series. The premise is entertaining; the romance is provocative and intense; the characters are energetic and determined but I had hoped for a little more character building for the three males leads.

My name is Crimson Syn, not really, but what fun is it to use my real name. Instead I’ll use my inner goddess’ name, it’s much more fun that way. I grew up in New York City where I had a wonderful education, loving parents and awesome friends. What more could a girl ask for?

I started writing at the age of sixteen. The first romance I read was Stephanie Laurens’ Devil’s Bride. Since then I have been influenced by dozens of flourishing romance authors and even more dashing and daring rogues. I must say it, but Fifty Shades was not my first erotic romance, nor did it influence me to start writing them. If you’ve never read Mary Balogh, Elizabeth Hoyt, Lisa Kleypas, Bertrice Small or A.N. Roquelaure’s Sleeping Beauty trilogy, then you’re missing out. Those were my sweet introductions to erotic romance, and boy were they hot.

So here I am, after reading so many wonderful stories, I have too many sinful tales of my own not to share. I like my alphas rough and possessive, and I have no shame in saying it or writing it. I had delightfully wicked teachers growing up, their books took me to new worlds and brought me new loves. So, I want to do the same for you. I want to indulge my readers in those steamy reads that will send them into the arms of dangerous alphas and deliciously sexy rogues, without leaving the confines of their nice warm bed. If I am able to entice your inner goddesses, then I have done my job and I am satisfied.

Bound (Tangled Web #3) by Aleatha Romig-Review tour

Bound (Tangled Web #3) by Aleatha Romig-Review tour

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Chapters Indigo / Google Play

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 13, 2019

With danger lurking around every corner and my life turned upside down, I struggle with who to believe and who to trust.

Can my heart convince my mind that what was bound long ago is where I’ll find love, safety, and security?

Or are the memories simply an illusion?

•••••••••

REVIEW: BOUND is the third and final instalment in Aleatha Romig’s contemporary, adult TANGLED WEB dark erotic romance, psychological suspense trilogy focusing on scientist Dr. Laurel Carlson, and assassin for hire Mason ‘Kader’ Pierce. The Tangled Web series is set in the same world as the author’s WEB OF SIN trilogy (Sterling Sparrow) but you do not have to have read the original series to understand or follow Tangled Web. BOUND should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of book two OBSESSED.

SOME BACKGROUND: Dr. Laurel Carlson, along with her colleague Dr. Russell Cartwright are missing, and part of their scientific discovery is currently on the black market, auctioning off to the highest bidder. Imprisoned by an assassin for hire, Laurel struggles with her attraction to a man whose end game is to take her life.

Told from several first person points of view including Laurel, Kader, Mason and Jack using present day and memories from the past, BOUND picks up immediately following the events of book two OBSESSED wherein our heroine discovers the true nature of Kader’s obsession and abduction: an obsession that reveals a mutual history but an abduction meant to eliminate Laurel Carlson. With Laurel’s research missing, and her former colleagues missing or dead, Laurel struggles with issues of trust believing her time with Mason comes with an expiry date- a hit ordered by an unknown source hoping to eliminate our story line heroine. Renewed threats force our couple on the run, threats meant to destroy both Kader and Laurel.

Sterling Sparrow and his team make a cameo appearance as Mason/Kader struggles to protect the woman with whom he has fallen in love. We are re-introduced to Sparrow’s wife Araneae; his men and former members of Mason’s platoon- Reid Murray and his wife Lorna, and Patrick Kelly, as well as Kader’s commander Clifton ‘Jack’ Jackson. Patrick’s story is next in the Web of Desire Series.

BOUND is a complicated and edgy story of betrayal and deception; vengeance, secrets and love; a tale of power and control. The premise is intriguing, captivating and thought-provoking; the characters are colorful, energetic and charismatic; the romance is passionate, seductive and intense. BOUND ends on a happily ever after for now, but saying that there are still a few unanswered questions, and the conflict resolution was cursory and disappointing.

Everything changed the night our eyes met across the room. His green gaze upon me prickled my skin with uncustomary warmth while my peek beneath his cuff—of a riot of color on his wrist—sparked my insatiable curiosity. Tall and mysterious, Kader was a man whose secrets I longed to know.

Little did I realize that the night we met was only the beginning—the beginning to the end of the existence I knew. With my life’s work now stolen and being offered to the highest bidder and friends and colleagues scattered, the future was unclear.

I’d wanted to believe that Kader was my eye in the middle of the raging category 5 hurricane my life had become.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

What will happen as his assignment becomes our obsession?

Tangled Web by Crista McHugh – a Review

Tangled Web by Crista McHugh – a Review

Tangled Web by Crista McHugh is the first book in her Deizian Empire series.

Description:

The deadliest assassin in the empire just got too close to her target…

Azurha, a former slave turned deadliest assassin in the empire, has just been offered the ultimate challenge—seduce, then murder the new Emperor. But Titus is not the tyrant his forefathers were, and his radical ideas might be the glimmer of hope the empire needs.

Titus Sergius Flavus has yet to master the powerful magic of his ancestors—magic he must wield if he’s to protect his people—but his father’s death has left him no choice. Rule the Deizian Empire and attempt to right his ancestors’ wrongs, or watch her fall to his greedy kin.

More than just Titus’ ideas hold Azurha captive. Night after night, he awakens desires she thought lost, and uncovers the magic of her hidden lineage. As her deadline approaches, Azurha is forced to make an impossible decision—complete her job and kill the man she loves, or fail and forfeit both their lives.

Review:

Tangled Web begins with Azurha still bound to her master in slavery.  She is abused and humiliated in horrendous ways.  Fortunately, through a series of events, she gains her freedom.  Flash forward 7 years.  She is a free woman and very good at her job:  assassin, a.k.a., The Rabbit.  She’s fast, deadly and a shadow.  She was trained by Cassius, an assassin as well, who took her in after she gained her freedom.  She attends a meeting to find out who her next mark is:  His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Titus Sergius Flavus.  And the person who hires her?  The Emperor’s cousin, who would be next in line as Emperor.  Her cover?  She is being presented to the Emperor as a concubine for the imperial harem.

Immediately upon her arrival at the palace, she realizes that Titus isn’t the same as those before him.  He thinks outside the box, something those that preceded him didn’t do and she is intrigued.  Is this man really trying to do what’s best for his people or, like the ones before him, do what’s best for personal gain?  For the first time in Azurha’s career as an assassin, she hesitates in taking out her target.  She tells herself that she will take the two weeks that she’s been given to kill him in order to find out more.  However, the longer she takes to fulfill her contract, the more danger she places on herself and Titus.

Tangled Web had me enthralled from the very first sentence…. You’ll never find a knot you can’t unravel.  The way McHugh has written the story builds from the very first.  The pull between the two main characters is immediate and does not stop.  There is political intrigue and a bit of mystery.  Due to Azurha’s former slave status, she thinks she can only bring Titus down as their feelings grow stronger for each other.  But Titus has plans for his empire and they include her.  He is determined to change the “status quo”, and everything else be damned.  Of course, there are bumps along the way, where things are not as they appear and things are revealed that change everything.  Can Titus truly love an assassin who was sent to kill him?  Or has Azurha finally found the knot she can’t unravel?

This book was good from the first word until the last.  Actually, it was great.  I keep trying to come up with the words to describe it, and all that keeps going through my mind is “oh my sweet Jesus!!”!!  LOL!!!  It was a page-turner from the word go.  The chemistry between Azurha and Titus was amazing.   There was no “filler” in this book.  No lengthy descriptions of anything other than the characters’ thoughts and feelings about the given situation they were facing at the time.  Even for the supporting characters, which are very well written and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series to find out more about them.  I had a friend call and say that she getting burned out reading and I told her to get Tangled Web.  She did and finished it in one sitting.  It is phenomenal.  This is the first book that I’ve read by Crista McHugh, but I guarantee you it won’t be the last.
