REVIEW: THE HANG UP is the second installment in Tawna Fenske’s contemporary, adult FIRST IMPRESSIONS erotic, romance series. This is CEO Jason Sanders, and PR specialist Miriam Ashley’s story line. THE HANG UP can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Miriam and Jason) THE HANG UP follows the professional and personal relationship between our leading couple. Jason is the new CEO of Urban Trax-a specialty company for outdoor sport enthusiasts and is in need of a complete PR overhaul. Enter Miriam Ashley from First Impressions, a woman who will leave ‘her impression’ on our story line hero. What ensues is a building romance between two people whose lives will collide both in and out of the boardroom.
The relationship between Miriam and Jason is one of immediate attraction. The sexual chemistry is palpable, and there is plenty of sexual innuendo throughout the story –some with a little help from Jason’s five year old nephew. While Jason struggles with his need to be the white knight to his sister and her son, Miriam battles her attraction to a man who is willing to risk his life for a little fun. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative.
The world building continues to focus on First Impressions PR-a firm that educates the working people about proper etiquette in business and the boardroom. Holly Colvin from book one –The Fix Up– plays a secondary role throughout the story.
THE HANG UP is a sweet, romantic, sexy tale about two people who couldn’t be more different. Miriam is city slick; Jason is woodsy tough-between the two Miriam with smooth out some of Jason’s rougher edges, while Jason pulls Miriam into the freer side of life. The premise is fun with moments of humor and lots of sexual euphemisms; the characters are colorful and animated; the romance is seductive and hot.
