About the book: Release Date June 3, 2014

An agent and a jaguar-shifter chase trouble, and each other, through the jungles of Belize…

Agent Tammy Anderson has a reputation: she prefers to work alone. So when she’s paired up on a mission with jaguar-shifter David Patterson—who’s only recently been released from jail—to say she’s less than thrilled is an understatement. Until she realizes that this sexy agent has what it takes…

Soon, what started as an “easy” mission to locate a missing jaguar takes the pair to Belize, where they’re chasing down two renegade teen shifters who know more than they’re telling. As the action heats up, can they keep their minds on the job and off of each other?

•••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: JAGUAR HUNT is the third instalment in Terry Spear’s contemporary, adult Heart of the Jaguar paranormal shifter series. This is jaguar shifters Tammy Anderson and David Patterson’s story. David is Wade’s brother and Tammy is Maya’s cousin whose story was told in book two-Jaguar Fever. With the continuing search for a missing ‘natural’ jaguar, David (a special forces Golden Claw JAG agent) and Tammy (an agent in the Enforcer branch) will be paired together on an assignment that will take them to the jungles of Belize where they will find assistance from an unlikely source.

The storyline finds Tammy and David following a trail of clues that leads our couple on a journey to the tropical rain forests of Belize-where not only do they uncover a potential threat from inside the agency but they discover that partnering together has made for some very romantic and sexy bedfellows.

The relationship between Tammy and David begins as partners working towards a common goal and ends with a declaration of love and a happily ever after. The sex is animalistic, steamy and seductive. Their inner cats have found their mates but the timing finds our couple on the run when their lives are threatened and they are no closer to discovering the whereabouts of the missing jaguar.

Terry Spear pulls the reader into well paced storyline of suspense, mystery and action; developing friendships; and the introduction to the next generation of potential JAG agents. Not only must David and Tammy search for an elusive and missing jaguar but they are caught in a web of deceit, revenge and betrayal that finds them the target of someone within the force. The secondary characters are colorful; mask their true intent and drive the premise of the storyline. Terry Spear does a terrific job of combining the major and minor players into a tale where you don’t know who is the guilty party or why.

JAGUAR HUNT is a perfect blend of mystery, suspense and romance. The reader is never lost or trying to find their way back to the story. There is always something happening and always a path back to the leading couple and the storyline premise.

Guest Post: 10 Reasons to Date a Jaguar Shifter

1. If you’ve ever been to a jungle environment, having a jaguar shifter boyfriend can really help. He’ll show you all the do’s and don’ts of visiting the rainforest and jungles south of the border. You’ll experience all the best when you’re down there.

2. Big cats have lots and lots of energy. They exercise regularly and can lift weights much greater than themselves to places high above without any difficulty. They can run, swim, and climb. Strong, versatile, extremely flexible and you know where that can really be a good thing, don’t you?

3. Protective. If someone’s hassling you, one show of a jaguar shifter’s claws and teeth and that’s the end of your troubles.

4. He can smell your distress, fear, excitement, and intrigue and so you don’t have to spend a lot of time explaining how you’re feeling or what you need. He already knows and he’s the best thing there is for whatever ails you.

5. He loves exotic locations, so if you’re adventurous, he’ll take you to them and you can enjoy them together. He will not be a couch potato or prefer to see it on TV, but will want to enjoy it for himself with you.

6. They’re great swimmers and what’s not to love about dating a hunky guy wearing a wet swimsuit, especially when he’s making the moves on you?

7. They love to play, so forget a totally serious boyfriend. With a jaguar shifter, expect to have fun.

8. They’re never boring. If things get to be too much of the same, change things up by having him shift.

9. If you ever get lost in the wilderness, a jaguar shifter can take care of you and get you to safety.

10. In cold weather, they’re hot. In hot weather, they’re hot. What’s not to love?

~~Terry~~

excerpt

She headed for her car, parked as far from other vehicles as she could manage, not wanting anyone to scratch or ding the new paint job. She didn’t hear David’s footsteps following her, but she knew he was sticking close to her from the heat she felt radiating from him. She heard his heartbeat thumping. Smelled his hot, sexy, masculine jaguar scent close by. Big cats moved so quietly that their prey would never think they were being stalked-unless the person being followed was also a big cat.

She glanced over her shoulder. Sure enough, he was only inches away. Where do you think you’re going?

With you. I’ve got a tip. This is going to be one helluva hot assignment.

Narrowing her eyes, she tilted her chin down and gave him a look of disbelief.

We’re headed for Belize. It’s hot down there.

~~What are some reasons you’d love to date a jaguar shifter?~~

SILENCE OF THE WOLF (Heart of the Wolf #13) by Terry Spear

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 4, 2014

Gray werewolf Tom Silver is determined to find the wolves who have been attacking local livestock. While tracking the pack through the Rockies, a blizzard forces him into a remote cabin where he hears a plane crash nearby.

When he discovers the sole survivor is a beautiful female werewolf/coyote shifter mix, bound as a prisoner, he knows it’s his duty to hide her. Now, they are both at risk as a search ensues for the missing prisoner.

Will Tom be able to protect this beautiful stranger while tracking down the wolves responsible for terrorizing the local livestock?

•••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: SILENCE OF THE WOLF is the thirteenth instalment in Terry Spear’s adult Heart of the Wolf paranormal series and can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty or confusion. Many of the previous storyline characters play secondary roles in this particular novel but their previous history is not as important to the overall premise.

SILENCE OF THE WOLF follows photographer and wolf-coyote shifter Elizabeth Wildwood as she is on the hunt for the people who killed her parents. Shunned for her hybrid genetics, neither the wolf nor coyote families would accept her breeding, Elizabeth begins her search in Silver Town, near the Rocky Mountains. What Elizabeth doesn’t expect to find is the man who would one day be her mate-Gray werewolf Tom Silver-brother to the local alpha.

The story finds Elizabeth the target of an unknown threat. Attacks, theft and an abduction all point to random acts but Elizabeth knows there is someone hoping to remove her permanently from this life. Enter Tom Silver-her hero and the man who would die to protect his mate.

The relationship between Tom and Elizabeth is slow to build. The attraction is mutual; there is none of the angst of rejection of not wanting a mate; but there are secrets from Elizabeth’s past that continue to haunt her daily life. Terry Spear writes a storyline where the leading couple are mature enough to realize when they have found the one- without the anxiety of rejection and hostility towards a happily ever after.

Terry Spear pulls the reader into a Rocky Mountain adventure through the snow covered forests and the backwoods of Silver Town, USA. There is action and suspense; hatred and love; betrayal and forgiveness. If you like a storyline with a little romance, a little sex, a little suspense and a whole lotta shifters, SILENCE OF THE WOLF and the Heart of the Wolf series by Terry Spear is a welcome addition to any personal library.

Silence of the Wolf: The Heroine’s Journey

In my wolf tales, each of the characters, hero and heroine, have their own journey. In answering the question of whether red wolves or gray wolves came first, I wanted to share the story of a shifter who is not all wolf or coyote, but a mix of the two.

It’s interesting to note that not only have mythology about werewolves been present for over the centuries, so has the Coyote trickster god, of Native American cultures. Gray wolves and coyotes do mix. Red wolves and coyotes mix. It’s a matter of need. If a wolf is without a mate, and a coyote doesn’t have a pack and they hook up, a coywolf is created. Or something else.

DNA proves this is so. It’s not just a myth. So what if a woman is a mix of coyote and wolf? I base my stories on the real thing, so it definitely could be. Now, do wolves kill coyotes that come into the wolf pack’s territory? Yes. They prey on the same animals and so the wolves are at the top of the food chain when it comes to coyotes encroaching on their territory.

I watched a video where a group of wolves were resting under some trees and a coyote walked into their territory without realizing the danger he was in. The wolves smelled the coyote, and took off after him. He was really lucky and escaped with his life. And this is the basis of my story for the heroine. She’s unaccepted by her own wolf pack, and her coyote family won’t take her in either, fearing she might be alpha enough because of her wolf half to take over.

When she arrives in Silver Town to do a story on the ski resort, that’s only her cover. She intends to prove that her uncle murdered her parents. But her uncle has no intention of letting her prove anything to his pack and that means she could very well be the next of his victims.

I was watching a program about a fox that was kicked out of her pack. She traveled thousands of miles from her home in England, which usually is a death knell for a fox alone. But they had monitored her movement for a year. She is a survivor.

That is what Elizabeth Wildwood is—a heroine with a knack for surviving, even without the support of any packs. When the Silver pack welcomes her with open arms, Tom Silver more than anyone in the pack, she realizes that not all wolf packs, or at least this one, are the same. All they care about is her safety and well-being. This is really hard for a woman to accept who has been shunned by her own kind all her life.

It makes her a loner, yet she wants so badly what Tom and his family have—love and acceptance. But she won’t risk his pack’s own safety because of the mess she’s in with her family. And that is Elizabeth’s story.

What do you think the Silver pack would say to that? If you were Tom, what would you say to that?

A SEAL Wolf Christmas (Heart of the Wolf #12) by Terry Spear-a review

A SEAL WOLF CHRISTMAS ( Heart of the Wolf #12) by Terry Spear-a review

A Seal Wolf Christmas

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk/ Barnes and Noble / KOBO / The Book Depository

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 24, 2013

Navy SEAL Bjornolf Jorgenson and undercover operative Anna Johnson have a rocky beginning at their first meeting all to do with pantyhose and tying her to a bed after some heavy-duty sparring, and him declaring she has mighty fine killer knees. Christmas is coming but thoughts of sugar plum fairies and kissing under the mistletoe isn’t something these two gray werewolves have in mind when they’re tasked to be the newlyweds preparing for Christmas while investigating a SEAL’s murder at a Christmas Tree farm.

Neither care about Christmas, sharing gifts, and all the traditions that go along with the season since neither enjoyed the holiday while growing up. But as they battle each other as to what makes for the perfect newly married couple’s first Christmas, they learn that a little Christmas cheer can become so much more, especially if they can take down a SEAL’s killer before they become his next target.

•••••••••••••••••••

REVIEW: A SEAL WOLF CHRISTMAS is the twelfth instalment in Terry Spear’s Heart of the Wolf shifter series. This is Bjornolf and Anna’s storyline and one that takes place in the few days and weeks leading up to the Christmas holidays.

Because it is the twelfth instalment there is plenty of reference to previous storylines including one where Bjornolf and Anna first meet, as well as the inclusion of a supporting cast from the earlier books. Although it can be read as a stand alone, there are many characters, premises and comments that may be lost to readers who have not read any of the previous novels.

The premise follows as Bjornolf and Anna are teamed together to locate and rescue a family held prisoner in the Amazon jungle. As the members of the team search and rescue, it becomes apparent that not everything about the kidnapping is on the level. Once the civilians have been secluded and safe, Bjornolf and Anna will be reassigned together for another mission that includes a young wolf shifter who has scented death on a Christmas tree farm back in the States.

As the story develops, so too does the intimate relationship between our leading couple. One thing I like about most of Terry’s shifter storylines is that there is very little friction or animosity between the couples as their inner beast knows when it has met its’ mate. The sex scenes are sensual and steamy and as with all mates, there is always the possibility of a pup(s) on the horizon.

The world building continues from several of the previous instalments -A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing #9: To Tempt the Wolf #3: with a little cameo from Leidolf Wildhaven and Cassi from Seduced by the Wolf #5. With the inclusion of several of the previous storyline characters, Terry brings a familiarity to her latest novel. The secondary characters all play a supporting role and are called upon on many occasions to keep the flow of the series smooth.

The premise finds Bjornolf and Anna as they must investigate the possible disappearance of a fellow SEAL shifter and the connection to the family rescued in the Amazon jungle. We also watch as a young shifter discovers that there are consequences to his actions when his inner wolf finds the mate of his heart.

If you like a storyline with action and mystery; shifters and their mates; and of course a happily ever after, Terry Spear write a series that is easy to read and with one you will fall in love especially if you like your romance novels with a peak at the next generation of shifters.

Carolyn Brown Xmas

Carolyn Brown’s Favorite Christmas Books:

Holiday books are such fun and always put me in the spirit. My all-time favorite Christmas book has always been ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. The pictures and the rhyme speak volumes to my imagination. I can feel the cold outside and hear the jingle of the bells. I can even see Rudolph’s red nose. In my Christmas romance novel, The Cowboy’s Christmas Baby, Henry loves to read to Baby Joshua. Maybe Henry is just using the excuse to reread them to the baby, like I do when I read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to my grandchildren. One of Henry’s favorite Christmas books is Baby Jesus is Born and he is convinced that Joshua understands every single word.

My favorite Christmas book lately has been Grace Burrowes Lady Sophie’s Christmas Wish but it could take a back seat to her newest one, Lady Jenny’s Christmas Portrait which I’ve promised to buy myself for the holidays.

A quick story here: I used to read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to our children during the season so Husband wrote his version of the poem when they weren’t very old. It became a tradition for him to read it to the children and later to all the grandchildren on Christmas Eve at our house when they gathered to open presents. I won’t quote the whole thing but it starts out: ‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring except a flea and a louse.

________________________________________________

Grace Burrowes Xmas

Grace Burrowes’ Favorite Christmas Books:

I love O’Henry’s “Gift of the Magi,” a short story supposedly written in about two hours flat. The penniless young husband and wife long to give each other the best possible holiday gift, even in their straitened circumstances. The husband sells his heirloom watch to buy his wife decorative combs for her beautiful hair; the wife sells her hair to buy her husband a gold chain to go with his prized heirloom watch.

The punch line of the story is that, in the Christian tradition, love was the gift of significance on the first Christmas, and love remains the essence of the holiday when it’s properly celebrated.

Sigh.

I don’t find that message reflected in too many longer works of fiction, so I’ll have to wiggle away from the notion of Christmas books, and say instead that “A Charlie Brown Christmas” is one of my favorite stories. When Linus comes out on that empty stage, makes his little speech, and uses his beloved blankie to begin the transformation of the bedraggled Christmas tree, I just tear up.

Every. Time.

Because the other aspect of Christmas that should be part of its proper celebration is togetherness. Love wants sharing, whether it’s love in the form of voices raised in song, a shared batch of cookies, two friends watching “It’s A Wonderful Life,” or a skating party that will end with an empty bowl of wassail.

And I do love “It’s A Wonderful Life.” I may not watch it each year, but when I do catch that story, I’m always heartened by it. Same with “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Garfield’s Christmas,” and “Rudolph” (all together now: “Bumble’s bounce!!!”).

How fortunate we are, to have so many Christmas stories, all of them cheering, and all of them about the enduring power of love, and the pleasure of celebrating that power with friends, family, and the entire world.

Terry Spear Xmas

Terry Spear’s Favorite Christmas Books:

Some of my favorite holiday books include The Snowman (watched the video with my married daughter last time I visited in the spring—it’s just special), The Polar Express, A Christmas Carol, Gift of the Magi, and The Elves and the Shoemaker… Notice they’re all Christmas stories suitable for children? I’m a kid at heart.

____________________________________________________

Juliana Stone XmasJuliana Stone’s Favorite Christmas Books:

I have a confession to make to you all—I don’t read a lot of Christmas books. And Ever since I bawled for hours watching The Christmas Shoes, I don’t watch many Christmas movies either.

But, there are some books that always remind me of Christmas, Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I loved all the books and of course watched the television series ( I had a huge crush on Michael Landon) but that first one, where they spent the winter in the big woods and had Christmas is special.

Another is Little Women. Both of these books are timeless classics and speak of a simpler time. For me, that is the real spirit of Christmas and sadly, sometimes that spirit is lost. I think that’s why—for me—Christmas is my favorite holiday. I keep it simple. It’s about family and that’s not always about blood either—a lot of my friends are as close to me as if they were family, and I love spending time with them!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 6, 2013

Jaguar shifter Maya Anderson learns about a secret jaguar society through underground social networking sites. She wanted to discover others like her, but now she’s got more trouble than she bargained for—including one hot jaguar shifter who’s set his sights on her.

Wade Patterson has learned that Maya is a shifter—and available. But how does he get to know her when he left such a bad first impression? When he learns Maya has gone to a watering hole for jaguar shifters to meet up, he quickly follows after, hoping she is wily enough to hold her own…

••••••••••••

REVIEW: JAGUAR FEVER is the second storyline in the Heart of the Jaguar series by Terry Spear. Although it is the second installment, it can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty. Some of the previous storyline characters play secondary roles, but any pertinent information is revealed throughout this particular novel. This story focuses on Maya Anderson and Wade Patterson who were introduced in book one-Savage Hunter.

The storyline focuses on the Patterson brothers and more specifically alpha he-man Wade Patterson, as he and his brother David, search for a group of people who have been illegally importing wild jaguars for a hunting ranch in the USA. But Wade will find himself face to face with the woman who stirred something deep within his heart-Maya Anderson-another jaguar shifter who hopes to reconnect with Wade for a few days of hot passionate sex without any ties.

The writing style is simple and the plot predictable. This is a story about a special forces shifter unit hoping to stop the illegal poaching of big game cats, but will all too soon find themselves the hunted as well as the hunter. The environmental issues of endangered species is an integral part of the storyline with issues pertaining to illegal poaching, importing and the sale of wild animals to collectors and hunters.

The storyline takes place between Belize and the USA where Terry Spear takes the reader on a journey through the underbrush and jungles of two different continents. The flow and pacing are steady; there are several chase and actions scenes culminating in retribution and revenge; as well as the push and pull of sexual attraction. And like the animals of the wild, our leading couple know what it is they want from each other.

With this particular storyline, Terry has introduced several more potential players including three male and two female shifters without mates, so you know the series will continue for several more books.

Terry Spear introduces the reader to sexy feline shifters; a special forces JAG unit that oversees the world of the cat; and a series with a little action, a little suspense, a little romance and a little sex. A perfect read for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 7, 2013

Elaine Hawthorn is a gray American werewolf, currently out of work, and on a mission to share in a family treasure. When she arrives in Scotland, she nearly has a head-on collision with one hot, kilt-garbed Highlander, and runs him off the road.

Werewolf laird Cearnach MacNeill isn’t happy Elaine ruined his car, but he quickly becomes her protector after a misunderstanding lands her right in the middle of two feuding clans. Now he’s out to ensure that this sexy female wolf gets her fair share of her clan’s treasure. He knows he should leave well enough alone, but it’s too late to leave his heart out of it

REVIEW: A HIGHLAND WEREWOLF WEDDING is the 11th storyline in Terry Spear’s Heart of the Wolf series but can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty. Many of the storyline characters have already had their stories told, but A Highland Werewolf Wedding reads fairly smooth without too many unanswered questions.

The premise of the storyline begins in 1785 where Elaine Hawthorn, an alpha female wolf, first met Cearnach MacNeill as she embarked onto the shores of Scotland after leaving America (with her pirate uncles) following the murder of her parents. But her need to run from a potentially unwanted and arranged mating and the people that hanged her uncles, will find Caenarch searching for the woman who tugged at his heart. Fast forward to the present day where Elaine returns to Scotland under the misapprehension of a business deal that could see the family fortune returned, and Caenarch will discover that his heart and his wolf still want Elaine. Only Elaine is a distant cousin to the MacNeill’s sworn enemy and her appearance with Caenarch at a family wedding will set into motion a pack feud that has been simmering since 1785.

The relationship between Cearnach and Elaine is heightened with the knowledge that their union may be unwelcome. From their second ‘accidental’ meeting to a chase through the Highlands of Scotland, Cearnach knows that the beautiful woman at his side will one day be his future mate-perhaps much sooner than later. And convincing the family matriarch is a lot easier than he ever could have imagined.

There is none of the angst of the push and pull of an unwelcome mating. Cearnach knows that Elaine is meant to be his mate, and the wolf in Elaine, although an Alpha as well, knows that her place is beside Cearnach. The relationship is loving; Cearnach is a man who knows how to treat a woman with love and respect; and Elaine is a woman who welcomes Cearnach with open arms.

There is a twist revealed at the end, but a twist that I had surmised fairly early on. Although many readers may be surprised, there is a build up to the reveal when questions about missing persons and queries go unsolved.

Terry Spear does an amazing job blending the past with the present as she comes full circle with the family histories and fight for lost possessions. If you are a fan of fast paced, paranormal shifter storylines A HIGHLAND WEREWOLF WEDDING is a fun read and will sure to please.
