Asher Dare doesn’t do relationships, and finds himself both put out and intrigued by his island companion. Nikki Bettencourt has always found herself second or third ‘banana’ behind her parents’ aspirations, a trophy to be looked at and admired, but a black mark on their fight towards political control. After another disappointing and embarrassing media scandal, Nicolette finds herself pushed further to the back realizing that to move forward means to move forward alone.

The relationship between Asher and Nicolette begins as forced proximity but quickly turns into something more. Asher has been warned not to cross the line with his best friend’s younger sister, and Nicolette wants the support and comfort she never got at home. JUST ONE TASTE is a story of betrayal and jealousy, family and friendships, love and acceptance. The premise is emotional and entertaining; the romance is provocative and steamy; the character are struggling but determined and dynamic.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Xander and Sasha) JUST ONE CHANCE follows the second chance romance and relationship between former Marine turned author/screenwriter Xander Kingston, and twenty-four year old actress Sasha Keaton. Four years earlier wanna-be actress Sasha Keaton got the opportunity of a life-time, and Xander knew his life would take him somewhere else. Fast forward to present day wherein Sasha has been cast as the lead actress in a movie based on the works of our leading hero, a movie that forces Sasha and Xander to work together but Sasha Keaton has a stalker whose threats have intensified such that Xander sees red and recommends private security for the woman he once loved. Moving Sasha into his home finds our couple rekindling where they had left off but the future is uncertain when Sasha is offered something more. We are introduced to Sasha’s best friend and PA Cassidy Forrester; agent Rebecca Burton, Sasha’s mother Annika, Cassidy’s brother Axel; and Alpha Security specialists Rhodes and Jared. Dash’s story is next in JUST ONE SPARK.

JUST ONE CHANCE family, friendships, and relationships: obsession, second chances and love. The character driven premise is intriguing, captivating and engaging; the romance is seductive and hot; the characters are dynamic, charismatic and wounded…but I did struggle with the quick resolution to the stalker plot line-something I had hoped would be more suspenseful, dramatic and intense.

I quite enjoyed The Baby Project by Miranda Liasson.  It’s a sweet, charming and emotional read about two people who have different ideas on relationships, love, children and what they want out of life.  I enjoyed both characters Liz and Grant, but I did have some issues with how Grant saw himself in regards to love and relationships.  I honestly wanted to club him over the head a few times, but I will say by book’s end Grant grew on me.  Miranda does an excellent job of navigating these waters with Grant and Liz and delivers a well-rounded and balanced story that keeps the reader turning page after page to the very end.

The chemistry between Liz and Grant is there from the very beginning and just continues to simmer throughout the story until it finally boils over when the two finally get together.  Their romance is electric and intense, but also charged full of emotion that just pours off the pages and into the reader.  You can’t help but feel every emotion they are dealing with.  I liked how Miranda wrote these two characters to feel so real and life like, and make you hang on their every word, hoping that they can find common ground and get to the HEA that both deserve. 

I also really enjoyed meeting Liz’s family, the closeness they have, and their interactions are wonderful and heart-warming.  When they finally find out everything that is going on with Liz, I liked how they came together to stand with her and support her no matter what.  I will also say I really enjoyed the last two chapters as it brought everything together for me, and made me really root for Liz and Grant.  The scene with Grant barging into the examining room had me oooing and ahhing and thinking, ‘well it’s about damn time buddy’.  The epilogue is touching and sweet and you can really feel the change in Grant and see that he has finally allowed himself to feel what love and family really is, and that he’s content and happy, and so to is Liz with their little family. 

The Baby Project is a fast paced read, chalked full of emotion, with real characters who are dealing with real life issues that are relatable to everyone.  Liz and Grant’s relationship is like a rollercoaster ride, but in the end they figure everything out and find their HEA they both deserve.
