ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 7, 2022.

Sometimes friendship is just another word for love.

Violet MacAllister is no stranger to rejection. Growing up with dyslexia, she was bullied mercilessly, making her feel as though she would never be good enough. And she believed it—until she found art and a new way of expressing herself. But her wounds run deep, and even though she’s been pining over her best friend Hudson for years, he has no idea, and she intends to keep it that way. He’s everything she could ever want—sensitive, artistic, hard-working, smart, and so, so hot—but she knows they’ll only ever be friends.

Hudson Prescott has been through a lot. He lost his father as a child, his fiancée jilted him, and six months ago, he was in a terrifying motorcycle accident that could’ve cost him his life. The one bright spot through the dark times has been his friend and co-worker Violet, who’s talented, driven to help others, and a total sweetheart. She’s his closest friend, and he’d be lost without her.

But one emotional night, everything changes, and suddenly Hudson’s seeing Violet in a different light. One that has him questioning how he could’ve been so blind to what was in front of him this entire time: Violet, with her curls, and tattoos, and her laugh that feels like sunshine. So when Violet has a proposition for him—one that involves her painting a nude portrait of him—he agrees. Because now that his eyes are open, he’ll do anything to make her see she’s the one for him.

Including bare it all.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Violet and Hudson) SKIN DEEP follows the building romance and relationship between tattoo artists thirty-three year old Hudson Prescott, and twenty-eight year old Violet MacAllister. Violet MacAllister is first and foremost an artist who volunteers at a program for children with learning disabilities, something close to her heart. Working with Hudson Prescott at Brooklyn Skin Work forces Violet to tamp down her attraction to her best friend, a friendship that may be threatened if they should cross a line but in the wake of Hudson’s motorcycle accident, the shop is struggling to survive, and Violet must make a choice between the present and the future. With an offer Violet cannot refuse comes a caveat involving the man that she loves, a caveat that place Violet and Hudson up close and personal. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Violet and Hudson, and the potential fall-out as Hudson struggles to move from the past, and Violet doesn’t want a possible sexual relationship to destroy their tight-knit friendship.

Hudson Prescott continues to struggle with the loss of his father, and his mother’s insistence that he finally settle down. Losing his tattoo shop isn’t an option, and Hudson must come to terms with what and who he wants going forward. Violet has always wanted to open a center for children with disabilities, focusing on art therapy as a way to survive but losing Hudson would destroy her heart, and our heroine must come to a decision about her future, going forward.

The relationship between Hudson and Violet is one of immediate attraction, an employee and employer, a friends to lovers relationship in which Violet battles between head and heart believing she is not worthy, or good enough for our story line hero. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

SKIN DEEP is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; of loss and grief, memories and dreams, acceptance and love all wrapped in a ‘Gift of the Magi’ themed generosity and benevolence. The premise is emotional and heart warming; the romance is provocative and intense; the characters are captivating and charismatic

Everyone in Manhattan thinks they know everything there is to know about Lucian Prescott.

In his mid-forties, he’s a successful businessman, the founder and CEO of one of Manhattan’s largest hospitality companies, the Prescott Group. He’s sexy, rich, and one of the most eligible bachelors in the city. Very few people know just how dangerous he is. Because he’s also the head of the Kings of Hell’s Kitchen, a small, elite group of former mob members who are the lynchpin in Manhattan’s underground organized crime scene.

But Lucian has more secrets than just his criminal ties—like the fact that he’s been in love with Olivia Walsh for the past five years. Olivia, who is eighteen years younger than him and happens to be the daughter of Prescott Group’s biggest, most important investor. She’s completely off-limits, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting her. In his arms. His bed. His life.

He knows he needs to stay away from her, no matter how he feels about her—or how she feels about him. But staying away becomes impossible when Olivia’s ex—a man almost as dangerous as Lucian—begins stalking her, and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

He’ll burn down the entire city to protect the only woman he’s ever loved.

REVIEW: BAD INTENTIONS is the fourth instalment in Tara Wyatt’s contemporary, adult THE PRESCOTTS erotic, Mafia, crime-world series focusing on the Prescott family. This is forty-five year old, CEO of the Prescott Group and head of the Kings of Hell’s Kitchen Lucian Prescott, and twenty-six year old, interior designer Olivia Walsh’s story line. BAD INTENTIONS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Lucian and Olivia) using present day and memories from the past, BAD INTENTIONS follows the forbidden, older man /younger woman romance and relationship between forty-five year old, CEO of the Prescott Group and head of the Kings of Hell’s Kitchen Lucian Prescott, and twenty-six year old, interior designer Olivia Walsh. Approximately five years earlier, Lucian Prescott fell in love with his business partner’s daughter, a woman eighteen years his junior, and thusly off limits. Over the next five years, Julian and Olivia would randomly meet at parties and get togethers but it is not until her father asks a favor does Julian know Olivia is now his for the claiming. But…when Olivia’s ex-boyfriend begins to demand everything and more, Julian becomes guardian and protector of the woman that calls to his heart. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Julian and Olivia, and the potential fall-out when an assassin sets his sights on our story line heroine.

Julian Prescott is the head of a group known as the Kings of Hell’s Kitchen, a well connected group of former members of organized crime who act as go-betweens when the criminal underworld take aim at one another but Julian will quickly discover Olivia’s ex is as dangerous as they come, and Julian is no longer satisfied to sit back and wait for someone else to take control. Olivia Walsh has known since the first time she laid eyes on Julian Prescott, that he would one day be her man but Olivia’s business is about to take off, and if not for her ex on the constant prowl, everything about her life would be perfect. When the threats against Olivia become more dangerous and dark, Julian calls in help from the Kings of Hell’s Kitchen but even they are not infallible when someone else is determined to take back what doesn’t belong

The relationship between Julian and Olivia is older man/younger woman (May-December romance) wherein five years of lusting after one another finally comes to fruition. Olivia’s father is not impressed with Olivia’s choice in men but Julian is the perfect foil for the man that is targeting our story line heroine. Julian has always believed he would never settle down but when threats against Olivia bring Julian front and center, Julian knows that it is only a matter of time before he claims Olivia as his own. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including all of the previous story lines couples, as well as the Kings of Hell’s Kitchen:Luca Romano, Ryu Shiroda, Killian Byrne and Sasha Petrov. We are introduced to Olivia’s father Gavin Walsh, several of our heroine’s BFFs, Olivia’s ex Massimo Greco, and Julian’s cousins Noah, Hudson and Levi.

BAD INTENTIONS is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; a story of betrayal and vengeance, obsession and retribution, power and control. The fast paced premise is gritty and captivating; the romance is spicy and provocative; the characters are energetic, powerful and determined. BAD INTENTIONS is my first story by Tara Wyatt, but it definitely won’t be my last- I am going to have to go back to the beginning, where it all began.
