Accidentally on purpose……

Sergei Chesnokov is one lost demon. Born an anomaly—a demon without powers—he has alienated himself from his family, traveling the world as a photographer, observing life from behind his camera lens.

Summoned to the demon realm by his grandmother, Sergei must face a family he hasn’t seen in years. He also meets Lela, whose energy is so strong that others siphon it from her to boost their powers, leaving her sick and vulnerable. Sergei is the only demon she’s met who can’t hurt her. Feeling safe for the first time in her life, Lela accepts his friendship.

However Sergei quickly realizes friendship is not enough. And he’s finally found a purpose—protecting Lela from those who would harm her. But what happens when he might be part of the problem…since he’s not as powerless as he first thought. Can he walk away from her to keep her safe?

Review:

Demons Are Forever by AE Jones is the 3rd Book in her The Realm series.

Oooooooh a long lost brother ?

Sergei is the youngest demon in the Chesnokov family. I’ve heard of him, but not much has been said. And unlike his brothers Misha and Aleksei, he has no demonic abilities. So to prove himself, Sergei leaves the compound and makes a life for himself taking photos and learning to accept his lack of abilities. But in doing so, he has lost touch with with family, he doesn’t know what’s going on, and when he gets an urgent message from his grandmother to come home, he is not sure what to do.

But family wins, and Sergei goes home. He finds out that his brother had been kidnapped and being held hostage in the demon realm.

Lela is a realm demon, but unlike most of her kind, she is extremely powerful (she can give the demons and extra boost to their powers) and is being taken advantage of, every time someone touches her, it drains her, and now it’s almost killing her …..

And when they first meet, it’s not exactly a welcoming committee, his brother is being held a prisoner, and a battle almost ensues. But peace prevails and the demons start negotiations to release Aleksei and to come to earth.

Sergei is introduced to Lela, and they start talking (his brother tells both of them their secrets) and after Lela realises that Sergei can’t hurt her, they start talking.

Lela is fascinated with the demons that have come to visit, she’s eager to visit earth. And it’s nice not to have to worry that if Sergei accidentally touches her, it won’t take her energy.

Sergei is impressed with what his family are trying to accomplish, moving demons from a horrid realm to earth. But he’s also ashamed that he hasn’t kept up with what the family are doing, and he feels he should be helping, but how can he help when he feels useless! But the only plus to this trip is Lela, it’s a nice addition, she doesn’t look at him as a null (a demon who has no powers)

Lela finally gets her chance to come to earth, she’s very excited, but apprehensive, what will happen if someone touches her ? Will it feel worse in a different realm ? But she’s getting lessons in keeping her energy to herself, Sabrina is teaching her ( she’s doctor is in previous books)

So …. do Lela and Sergei get together? Will Sergei ever reconcile with his family? Will Lela control her energy ?

I love AE Jones, and I’ve read everything she’s written so far. Her witty one liners are great. The story she tells is unique, and her description of both earth and the realm is spot on. The characters are just amazing, and I’ve enjoyed reading about them.

Description:
Aleksei Chesnokov is one busy demon. Between leading the immigration team to bring realm demons to earth and preparing to one day succeed his father as clan leader, his priorities and current project plans do not include finding a mate.

When his clan is attacked by the very demons he’s trying to help, Aleksei must enlist the help of Naya, the leader of the realm guard. A strong, determined, frustrating female, she challenges his decisions and acts before she thinks.

As they work together to stop an impending war, Aleksei is drawn to Naya and the world she protects. When she’s taken hostage, Aleksei will move earth and the realm to save her. Because with all his agendas, checklists, and timelines, the one thing Aleksei never planned to do was fall in love.

Review:

Demons are a Girl’s Best Friend by A.E. Jones is the 2nd book in her Realm series.  Now if memory serves me correct, we first meet Aleksei in her previous Mind Games series.

He’s brother to Misha (hero in the last book) and he is the next in line to be clan leader to a group of demons when his dad stands down. And in the mind series games he was chosen to head up the migration of realm demons to earth.
So he is really busy, he likes the pace and responsibilities, he relishes a challenge, and the realm demons coming to earth certainly do that (some of the realm demons don’t want to come to earth, they don’t trust the humans or the “other demons”, and the demons that live on earth, don’t exactly want the realm demons coming here either) he works closely with the Kyle and her team to make sure peace is upheld and nothing goes wrong.

Well it does …..

Naya is a realm demon, but she can cross to earth via portals (we met her for the first time in the mind game series) she is a warrior, a fighter and a damn good one. She is helping to keep the peace in the realm, trying to get all the demons to come to earth.

Long ago Realm Demons were banished from earth and the descendants no longer remember why. But now they are being given a chance to come to earth and live a better life. But someone is trying to stir up trouble, fights are breaking out …..
And the team are trying to keep the peace on both sides.

Everyone thought that Misha and Naya would be together, but there were signs in the previous books that there was a love/hate relationship between Naya and Aleksei (well more of a hate/dislike)
Their one liners are funny, and when the realisation that they like each other hits, then it’s denial all round.

So who is trying to sabotage the migration?

What do they gain ?

As always AE Jones has done a fabulous job of pulling me into this world. Her one liners are great, her characters are very 3dimensional, and her work as always was spot on.

Roll on Sergei’s book ?

His teammates Kyle and Jean Luc have found their mates (with his help, he might add). Is it too much to ask for his own happily-ever-after?

When Misha finally meets an amazing demon female who could be THE ONE, Fate conspires against him. With the escalating tensions between the earth and realm demons, and his newest case involving supernatural seven-year-old twin boys, he’s too busy for romance.

And the more time Misha spends with her, the more he realizes she’s keeping secrets. When those secrets jeopardize both her and her sons, Misha will stop at nothing to keep them safe. Review:

In Demons Will Be Demons, I was hoping to read Misha’s book,  in this spin off series (The Realm) by AE Jones, and happy that is was; ? so a bonus.

Misha was Kyle’s loyal friend and demon. He helped her (yes Kyle is a girl) solve many cases in previous books.

He works for the Bureau of Supernatural Relations, and enjoys the job, but with this new assignment he thinks he may finally get a mate and a happy ending…..

He had found a demon he can finally settle down with (yes he’s been married 3 times, but this one is for keeps)

But he gets tongue tied around her, so he has to wait for the perfect moment to show this female that she is the one for him.

Callie had a relationship with a demon, and reading it, I got the distinct impression it wasn’t a happy one. And now she has twin boys to bring up on her own, and to make matters worse they are half demon with powers (they don’t usually come into their powers until their teens) so keeps no them safe and hidden is Callie’s priority. But she needs help from the bureau to keep the boys safe and to help them control their powers.

So Misha has the hots for a female demon and Callie has her interest firmly set on helping her boys, so I don’t see how Misha and Callie get together…..

But something happens that makes Misha look at Callie in a different light.

And Callie knows Misha has the hots for the female demon, but there is something special that just ticks all of Callie’s boxes, but as far as Callie is concerned, Misha just sees her as the twins mother.

The story line like the previous books are very well written. The characters are funny and flow easily.

I loved reading the mind games series, and this book followed them without missing a step.

Yes you can read this one without reading the previous books, but it gives you more background on the other characters in the previous books.

So how will Misha and Callie cope with twin demons, and will they get their happy ending ? Well ….. you’ll have to read it to find out ?
