Tickle Your Fancy is one of our Themes. Since The Reading Cafe is a place we can all hang out, while we drink our coffee or sip our margaritas, the talk of everything books can lead to funny stuff when we are having fun. We will be showcasing some of these moments for all of us to enjoy. So without further ado....
The pressure is on…. I have been trying hard to think of what to write for my first post on The Reading Café. I’ve been told that I have a great sense of humor and I should share that with you all. Now I know what writers block is. But then yesterday was the kind of day that begged to be told. I thought this was perfect for my first post, and I’ve titled it
“Why I Should Have Stayed in Bed”
I missed my alarm, and woke up late.
Then I stubbed my toe on the antique bench in the hall walking to the bathroom.
I proceeded to blind myself in one eye while washing my face… my morning just keeps getting better.
I safely make it to the kitchen to make breakfast, only to pour my pomegranate juice into my bowl of cereal. Being too tired to get a new bowl, I strained my juice out of the cereal, and add my milk. Mmmmm, yummy pomegranate flavored milk and cereal.
I made it to work in one piece, only to slip and fall on the ice in the parking lot walking to the door.
At that point, I was very tempted to drive back home, crawl into bed and call in sick.
Well I can safely say the rest of my day went much better then my morning did. There were no mishaps on my part, but at lunch the kids at my table all had butter fingers. Every single one of them spilled their milk. It looked like a domino effect. I did have a near miss, as it almost got my left pant leg, but I rescued it just in time.
Fortunately, I got home safely without anything else happening. That was my day that I had to share with you all. 😉
