Cheska Harlow-Wright was born into a life of luxury and privilege. She has never wanted for anything. A comfortable future as a married London socialite ⁣
awaits her. But since the age of thirteen, Cheska has harboured a secret—an unshakeable fixation on a boy who could never offer her anything close to ⁣comfort. A boy steeped in sin and draped in depravity. A boy born into the possessive embrace of darkness. ⁣

When Cheska’s seemingly perfect world is ripped apart by an unknown but deadly enemy, there’s only one person she can run to. One person in the world ⁣who has the power to keep her safe. The one person her weak and shattered heart craves. ⁣

Arthur Adley. The new head of the most feared crime family in London. ⁣

Forced too young to take the helm of the Adley firm, Arthur has become even more ruthless, formidable, and cold than ever before. His enemies are circling, and he must fight—and kill—to maintain his family’s place at the top of the London crime underworld. There is no room for weakness, emotion, or loss of control.⁣

But then Cheska smashes back into his life with the force of a wrecking ball. She has no place in this dark, vicious, and bloodthirsty world. And worse, she is the solitary chink in his impenetrable armour. He’s already pushed her away once, but this time she desperately needs him. She’s broken, lost, and in danger, and he is the only one who can help.⁣

Arthur must protect her. He must destroy those who dare to threaten her, hunt down those who would take what is his. He would raze all of London to the ⁣ground to keep her safe… but can he also protect himself?⁣

The infamous Dark Lord of London Town faces his most brutal battle yet—the crippling weight of the past, the unrelenting enemies lurking in the shadows… and the havoc that Cheska’s presence is wreaking on the granite fortress that was once his heart.⁣

REVIEW: LORD OF LONDON TOWN is the first instalment in Tillie Cole’s contemporary, adult, dark, organized crime, romance series focusing on the Adley Crime Family in London, England. This is the new head of the Adley Crime Family Arthur Adley, and heiress Cheska Harlow-Wright’s story line. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Hade’s Hangmen series.

WARNING: LORD OF LONDON TOWN is a dark, mafia-style romance with scenes of graphic violence, grisly murders, attempted rape and strong language that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Arthur and Cheska) LORD OF LONDON TOWN follows several years in the life of the new head of the London-based Adley Crime Family Arthur Adley, and heiress Cheska Harlow-Wright. Years earlier Arthur Adley lost his mother and sister Pearl to a fire believed to be accidental but in the ensuing time Arthur struggled with issues of guilt and survivor’s remorse. Trained in the ways of the Firm, the crime family headed by his father Alfie, Arthur Adley made his first kill at the age of thirteen, and has never looked back but meeting heiress Cheska Harlow-Wright during a business transaction at Cheska’s family home, stirred something deep within our story line ‘anti-hero’, something Arthur struggled to understand or want. Over the years Arthur and Cheska would develop a frenemies relationship until a five-year friends with benefits arrangement ended when Cheska became engaged to another man but not all was well within the Firm, as they would find themselves targeted over and over again. A series of attacks against the Firm, their business and ultimately Cheska Harlow-Wright pushed Arthur to take a stand that reinforced his title as the Dark Lord of London Town. What ensues is the building relationship between Cheska and Arthur, and the potential fall-out as the Firm discovers the truth behind the attacks and the threats to his relationship with Cheska Harlow-Wright.

The Firm, and ultimately Arthur Adley’s reputation as dangerous, cold and violent killers are well earned but Arthur believes every kill is well-deserved in the face of betrayal and revenge, power and control. Arthur’s notoriety is dark; deceit and treachery does not go unpunished, and punishment is swift, painful and deadly. Cheska Harlow-Wright comes from money and is expected to marry someone of her social standing or above, and in this, Arthur, an East Ender is the bad-boy temptation that stirs Cheska’s need to be a little bit dirty and rough but a relationship with Arthur threatens all of Cheska’s father’s plans, and it is her father that will pay the ultimate price.

The relationship between Cheska and Arthur begins at the age of thirteen when Alfie Adley has business with Cheska’s father George, and as the timeline advances throughout the story we are witness to the occasional run-ins between Arthur and Cheska where their sexual attraction and chemistry is palpable and impassioned; the sexual tension is real. A five year friends with benefits relationship (behind the scenes) ends with Cheska’s engagement to someone else but Cheska’s heart wants our story line anti-hero. The $ex scenes are erotic, passionate and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and powerful secondary and supporting characters including Arthur’s ‘brothers and sisters’ in crime: his cousin Charlie Adley, Vinnie Edwards, Eric Mason and Freddie Williams, Vera, Ronnie and Betsy, and Arthur’s father Alfie Adley; Cheska’s father George Wright, her fiancé Hugo Harrington, and her friend’s Arabella, Freya, Cassius and Percy ; and Ollie Lawson, another man vying for Cheska’s attention.

LORD OF LONDON TOWN is a story of opposites attract; a raw, dark, gritty, and haunting story of betrayal and revenge; power, authority, domination and rule. The premise is dramatic, strong, tragic and twisted; the characters are charismatic, broken, and angry; the romance is fated, visceral and heart breaking.

ARTHUR

I pushed my glasses up my nose and climbed the stairs. The heat of the Spanish sun slammed into me like an iron fist, and I pushed my dark hair back from my forehead. White Mediterranean buildings surrounded us, and tourists sat in restaurants and bars, gaping up at our yacht.
I joined my friends on the rear deck overlooking the restaurants and took a beer from Eric. He spread his arms. “Fucking paradise, boys.” I took a swig of my beer and glanced over to the yacht beside us. I didn’t see anyone on the back deck, but then I heard the people talking at the front of their boat, overlooking the sea.
“So, where are these spectacular views?” Charlie asked Eric, lighting up another cig.
Eric winced as he met my cousin’s waiting gaze. “Well, maybe not spectacular to you, Chuck, but definitely to the rest of us.” He flicked his eyes to Vinnie, who was circling the back deck like it was a track, and screwed up his nose. “Okay, maybe not to our resident nutjob either since he already has a bird. But to me, Freddie and Artie, what a view it is!”
“Story of my fucking life.” Charlie smirked at me. I followed Eric as he headed for the main sun deck at the very front of the yacht.
“The edge gone yet?” I asked Vinnie. He nodded, and I could see by his eyes that his medication had kicked in. His pupils had dilated a bit, and the shaking in his hands had lessened. “Getting calmer by the second, Artie. Getting calmer by the second.” He smiled again, his deep dimples making him look a fuck-ton more innocent than he actually was. I put my hand on his shoulder, right over the face of Nosferatu with his sharp vampiric teeth that was tattooed there.
“So, who are we docked next to?” Freddie asked Eric. Freddie was six feet two with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was slender in build but could fight like a fucking Rottweiler. His old man died a while back, for the firm, shot right through the fucking forehead by a Russian. My dad practically adopted Freddie after that. He’d lived with us in the old church for the past couple of years. He was quiet before his old man’s death. Now, compared to the rest of my gobshite mates, he was almost mute.
“Wait until you see,” Eric said, waggling his eyebrows. Eric was six four, blond and covered in bright-as-fuck horror-themed clown tattoos. His hair looked like something straight from World War Two—combed over like a good little British solider. Claimed birds got wet for it—we all knew that was mainly referring to Betsy, my cousin and Charlie’s little sister. But neither he or Betsy ever talked about that. He also rarely shut his mouth. But that didn’t matter when shit hit the fan. He had your back, one hundred percent without question.
As we turned the corner, I saw movement on the yacht beside us. Birds in bikinis, some topless. I couldn’t care less. Seen one pair of tits, you’d seen them all. Bored already, I lit another cig and moved to the front of the yacht. I looked out over the ocean.
“Nice tits, sweetheart!” I heard Eric shout behind me. I glanced over to the yacht beside us and saw two girls sunbathing, looking our way—one with dark skin and jet-black hair that fell in spiral curls to her shoulders, and one with light freckled skin and red hair down to her waist.
I went to turn my head again, when someone walked out from below deck and toward the two sunbathers. The hand holding my cig stopped en route to my mouth when I saw her long legs and olive skin. The dark hair that was pulled up on top of her head. She was wearing a white bikini, fucking curves like an hourglass.
As if she was feeling my stare, she looked over, and the minute she did, I recognised those eyes. Those big fucking eyes that were fixed on me and widening by the second. Green-brown eyes that I never fucking forgot …
Cheska Harlow-Wright …

They are the Fallen. A brotherhood of murderers whose nature compels them to kill. But guided by their leader, Gabriel, the Fallen have learned to use their urges to rid the world of those it is better off without.

For Raphael, sex and death are intertwined. Where there is one, there must be the other. He is a lust killer, luring his victims with the face of an angel and a body built for sin.

And Raphael lives to sin.

His newest mission takes him into the sadistic underworld of Boston’s secret sex clubs, and puts him face to face with his greatest fantasy made flesh.

Maria is everything he’s ever dreamed of, the kill he’s always longed for. She’s not his target. And he knows he must resist. But the temptation is too strong…

Yet Raphael is not the only one with a mission. Maria is not quite what she seems. And as her secrets and Raphael’s unravel, Maria begins to question everything she thought she knew—about evil, about the place she calls home, and about the beautiful sinner she was sent to destroy.

Dark Contemporary Romance. Contains sexual situations, violence, sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language and topics some may find triggering. Recommended for age 18 years and up.

The Fallen: Genesis a prequel novella in The Deadly Virtues Series and MUST be read before RAPHAEL

••••••••••••

REVIEW: RAPHAEL is the first full-length instalment in Tillie Cole’s contemporary, adult DEADLY VIRTUES dark, erotic, romance series focusing on a brotherhood of murderers, who call themselves the Fallen, a group of men who are compelled to kill. This is Raphael and Maria’s story line. RAPHAEL should not be read as a stand alone. It is recommended the reader read THE FALLEN: Genesis prior to reading Raphael, or any of the other series instalments.

SOME BACKGROUND: Approximately ten years earlier, following years of abuse and torture at the hands of The Brethren, six young men were rescued by one of their own. The Brethren, a collection of deviant Catholic priests, believed themselves above man and God in the hopes of ridding the boys of their demons and sins. Upon their rescue, the eldest Gabriel, took the young men, under his wing, in an effort to curtail their deviant natures. These are their stories.

TRIGGER WARNING: Due to the extremely graphic physical and sexual violence, and nature of the story line premise RAPHAEL is not intended for sensitive readers.

Told from several third person perspectives including Raphael and Maria RAPHAEL follows Raphael, one of the Fallen, as he is tasked to take down the lowest of the low. To help curb the ‘Fallen’s’ appetites, our anti-heroes use their deviant proclivities to rid the world of mankind’s sins, a tortuous affair that will bring Raphael face to face with a woman sent to destroy our story line anti-hero. Enter Maria, an innocent who has endured the pain and suffering of the aberrant, of the dark, and survived. What ensues is the forbidden and anomalous relationship between Raphael and Maria, and the potential fall-out as Maria finds herself both a willing and unwitting victim of Raphael’s past.

RAPHAEL is a disturbing, dark, raw and powerful tale of retribution, vengeance, abuse and survival; a story of religion and God, of power, lust, demons and sins; of the visceral impact of torture, and the need for revenge. Tillie Cole pulls the reader into the nightmare that is the abuse of power, and the potential to channel the darkness within.

Father Murray’s eyes locked on the woman again as she was released from the metal cage and brought into her lover’s embrace. The man slammed his mouth against hers and thrust his fingers into her overused pussy. They were dressed in scandalous leather outfits that did little to conceal their bodies. Father Murray’s lip curled in disgust. The man pulled back and made for the bar. His slut’s cheeks were flushed, and her lips were swollen from the claiming kiss. She had red marks littering her body like the witch she was. Bruises and gashes from whips and chains and whatever else the male sinner had used on her flesh.
Flesh that belonged to the Lord, not her. Flesh that she was defiling, making a mockery of.
As Father Murray sipped on his water, he noticed the whore was walking to the bathrooms. His eyes tracked her across the room, then scanned the club for any sign that someone else would follow. But the heathens were too busy fornicating to notice or care. His heart kicked into a sprint; she was alone in the bathroom. He squeezed the bottle of water until it was crushed beneath his grasp.
Father Murray’s skin burned as he watched the door of the bathroom. His muscles tensed so tightly they felt as though they would snap. His eyes misted with red . . . and then he was moving. He let the Lord fill his senses and gave over control.
Do with me what you will. Use me as your vessel to destroy the evil walking this earth.
As quick as a shadow, Father Murray turned the knob of the bathroom door and walked inside. The whore stood in front of the mirror, wiping a cloth along her rancid pussy. She turned her eyes his way. What first seemed like shock at the interruption turned into heated interest.
“Can I help you?” Her voice was all seduction. The voice of the devil, Father Murray thought. A living temptation trying to sway me from the path.
It would only make her cleansing all the more powerful.
Father Murray licked his lips and pushed his jaw-length dark hair from his eyes. He saw the whore’s eyes flare. That was the reason he was picked for these missions. Father Quinn had told him God gave him his looks and body for this very reason. To ensnare impure sluts and send them to the depths of hell where they belonged and would dwell for eternity.
Silently, Father Murray turned, giving the slightest nudge of his head in instruction for her to follow. He didn’t look back, and the thumping music from the speakers in the club meant he couldn’t hear her high-heeled feet on the floor. But he knew she would follow. It was God’s will.
These missions were the Brethren’s very reason for existing.
Father Murray exited out of the back door and down the winding fire escape stairs. A metal door plunged him into the darkness of the alley outside. He stopped against the wall and waited. He smirked when the fire door opened and the slut walked through. He watched as her eyes squinted in the dark, searching for him. She smiled when she caught sight of his intense gaze fixed on her. “You like privacy, huh?” she asked, coming to stand before him. “Not into public displays?” She smiled. “You should try it. There’s nothing like all eyes on you as you come.”
The whore ran her long fingernail down Father Murray’s chest. Her touch did nothing to him. There was no stirring in his cock, no satisfaction from her attention. The bitch had no idea what turned him on.
She would soon.
She dropped her hands to the fly of his pants and undid his zipper. Her tongue snaked out and licked along her too-white teeth. The whore was a demon wrapped in attractive female flesh.
But she wouldn’t make this man of God sin.
Father Murray grabbed the top of the whore’s arms, spun her, and smacked her back against the wall. An innocent soul would feel fear, dislike of the rough contact. But not this slut. She smiled, enjoying the pain Father Murray’s aggressive grip brought.
Heathen. A heathen who deserves to die.
“Are you gonna fuck me or what?” she whispered in his ear. The whore lifted her hand and flipped her hair back over her shoulder, aiming for seductiveness. Father Murray knew the movement was a message from the Lord. An invitation to strike, to do his work of ridding the world of sinners.
Father Murray smiled; the whore smiled back. He didn’t bother to tuck his cock back into his pants. Instead, he ran his hands over her hell-created curves, listening to her moan. His fingers roved over her small waist and up over her large breasts. Finally, his hands rested on either side of her neck. Father Murray stared right into the whore’s eyes. Leaning in close, he whispered, “You are a blight on the world. You have no place on this earth . . . and I shall be the holy warrior to send you back to the second level of hell.” Her eyes only had a second to flare with fear before Father Murray began to squeeze. The whore’s mouth dropped open as she quickly became starved of breath.
Father Murray hadn’t been aroused by the whore’s touch. But now, with his hands ridding her of life, his dick was hard and throbbing with the need to release. He panted as the whore’s body began to fight back. But she was too weak; he was too strong. He pressed his wide chest against her tits and pushed her hard into the wall. The friction of her skin against his erection only heightened his excitement. Father Murray rocked against the front of her bare pussy, his hands tightening and tightening until the whore’s eyes began to bulge. She clawed at his chest. But the battle, the pain she was trying to inflict on his pure soul, only made his hold around her neck tighten.

Joseph watched helplessly as James moved from his place against the far wall toward a boy on a chair on the opposite side of the room. A boy who had slim knives embedded in his arms and legs—a human pin cushion.
Joseph shivered as he recalled his brother’s expression a moment ago as he’d sat and stared at the knives he had sliced into the boy’s flesh. James, the sadistic voyeur of his own work. Joseph’s nervous eyes landed on his brother’s target. The boy was bound with ropes, and a washcloth was stuffed into his mouth, silencing his cries.
Luke.
Fear flooded Joseph’s body. Luke, the boy who had been intent on bullying James since the age of eight. The boy who would spit at James’s feet when they walked by. The boy who call him weird, a goth, a psychopath who rarely spoke. His taunts were endless. Joseph didn’t think the verbal bullets had ever hit their target . . . until he’d found a pad of paper hidden underneath James’s bed. A pad of paper showing in graphic detail what James wanted to do to Luke.
Tie him up.
Cut his flesh.
Exsanguinate his body.
Then drink the blood down.
“They’re just fantasy, right?” Joseph asked James when he returned from detention. Joseph held up the drawings. Page after page of pain and despair and cruelty.
James walked slowly to Joseph and ran his hand down the open page of the pad, delicately running his fingertip over the pencil image of Luke’s slit throat. “It’s a promise,” James said, with no shame in his voice. “Each page is what will happen to Luke.” James finally met his older brother’s eyes. “I’m just waiting for the perfect time.”
From that day on Joseph made sure Luke never got too close to James, for fear of what his younger brother would do. Because Joseph believed every word his brother had said.
The truth was, Joseph knew that someday, if he wasn’t stopped, James would do something so terrible he wouldn’t be able to come back from it.
And Joseph had no idea how to cure James. He didn’t know how to heal his little brother of the wretchedness that had lodged itself into his soul. He prayed for a miracle he knew would never come.
Joseph’s heart pounded as James held up another knife. His brother’s torso was bare, the scars from his frequent self-mutilation clear to see, white roads of flesh mapping the veins that ran under his skin. Veins that carried the blood James so desperately craved; nightly, once safe in their room, he would slice them open and lick the falling drops as they ran in crimson rivulets down his arms.
Joseph thrashed on the bed, fighting the binds James must have placed him in while he slept. “James, listen to me,” Joseph said as he helplessly watched his brother slowly push his blade into Luke’s shoulder. Luke’s chair almost fell as he screamed into the washcloth, the fabric absorbing his cry. But James didn’t even flinch. Joseph’s stomach clenched when the blood started to pour from Luke’s shoulder as James carefully extracted the blade.
Eleven. That’s all James was. Eleven years old, yet thought only of blood . . . worse, even . . . thought only about the consumption of blood.

RIOT (Scarred Souls #4) by Tillie Cole- a review

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / BAM /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 7, 2017

Stolen by the Arziani Georgian crime mob as a child, 152 was raised and conditioned to be a Mona—the most subservient of the Arziani Blood Pit slaves.

Gorgeous and kind, she has been and under the imprisoning influence of the Type B drug and under the command of the Blood Pit Master’s sister, Mistress Arziani, for most of her life, until the Master calls her back home to Georgia.

He wants her under his total control, and Master always gets what he wants.

But when 152 is gifted to the Blood Pit’s fearsome champion death match fighter as a prize, 152 suddenly finds out that the men who appear most brutal, may just own the kindest hearts. And love may be found, even when living in hell.

Freedom, family, love, 152 will have to fight for what she wants and ultimately make an impossible choice.

•••••••••

REVIEW: RIOT is the fourth and final? Installment in Tillie Cole’s adult, contemporary, SCARRED SOULS dark, erotic, romance series focusing on the Russian Mafia, the Georgian Bratva criminal underground, cage fighting, sexual slavery, and the Russian blood pits. This is death match fighter Ilya Konev (aka 901) and Inessa Belrova’s (aka 152) story line. RIOT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty although I recommend reading the series in order for cohesion and backstory. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Inessa Belrova is the missing sister to Valentin (Ravage #3).

WARNING: RIOT contains scenes of graphic violence and sexual imagery including scenes of rape, murder and torture that may be disturbing for some readers.

Told from three first person points of view (Luka, Ilya and Inessa) RIOT focuses on the struggle to be free. Ilya aka 901 was kidnapped as a child and trained in the death matches for the Arziani Georgian crime mob. As a fighter 901 has never known anything outside of the arena and the cell that has imprisoned him for close to twenty years. Drugged to perform 901 is eventually caged with a young woman known only as number 152, the Master’s High Mona (or consort). When 901 refuses to accept the gift from his Master he soon realizes that to reject 152 could mean the death of the woman that will eventually call to his heart. What ensues is the building but forbidden relationship between 901 (Ilya) and 152( Inessa), and the struggle to gain freedom from the man who has destroyed too many lives.

The relationship between Ilya and Inessa struggles with the question as to the how and why. Why were they thrown together and for whose benefit will their relationship help. Ilya and Inessa have never known love, comfort or the touch of friendship without the pain or repercussions of torture and abuse. The $ex scenes between Ilya and Inessa are intimate and intense.

There are a large number of secondary and supporting characters including all three of the previous story line couples. We are also introduced to several other slaves and death match fighters-some will not be so lucky to survive, as well as the Arziani Georgian crime lord whose psychotic personality fuels the life and death fights in the arena.

RIOT is a graphically violent story line with scenes of rape, torture, abuse and death. Some of the slaves wish for death on a daily basis, while others struggle to stay alive through the torturous beatings and daily drug injections used for submission and control. The premise is dramatic and intense; the characters are broken, tragic and dynamic; the romance is fated and traumatic. RIOT is a heartbreaking story of betrayal, loss and pain; rescue, love and revenge. For fans of the Starz Network’s SPARTACUS the final showdown is akin to Spartacus’s take down of the Dominus- Quintus Batiatus.

REVIEW: RAVAGE is the third installment in Tillie Cole’s contemporary, adult SCARRED SOULS dark, erotic, romance series focusing on the Russian Mafia, the Georgian Bratva criminal underground, cage fighting and blood pits, and two families torn apart by power and greed. This is enslaved killer 194 (aka Valentin Belrov), and New York Russian mafia princess Zoya Kostava. RAVAGE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for cohesion and back story.

WARNING: RAVAGE contains graphic violence and sexual imagery that may be disturbing for some readers.

Told from several first person points of view including Zoya and Valentin, RAVAGE is a graphically violent story of one man’s struggle to remember his past and survive to live another day. 194 is a killer with no idenity; a warrior trained to torture and maim, a scarred and brutally savage killing machine, and a man determined to free himself from bondage to save his sister from a similar fate. At twelve years old, Valentin and his younger sister Inessa were taken from an orphanage, and their fate and future became part of a series of illegal, underground drug tests towards building the ultimate fighting machine and obedient soldier. 194’s latest target assignment is Zaal Kostava, the head of New York’s Russian mafia and there is nothing he can do when designer drugs used to keep him under control turn the once loving young man into a monster with no heart. But 194 finds himself falling for his latest captive- a woman long thought dead with connections to Zaal Kostava, and a woman that begins to tame the beast within. Zoya Kostava will become 194’s prisoner; his target of torture and abuse; and the woman with whom Valentin will fall in love. There is a Stockholm Syndrome feel to the relationship and rescue.

RAVAGE is a heartbreaking and tragic story of Beauty and the Beast, and Anastasia Romanov; a tale of torment, aggression and exploitation; a distressing look at power and control. The brutality and violence is fierce; our heroine will become the victim of a drug-controlled monster but a woman who continues to fight to remain alive. 194 is a broken and mutilated killing machine who is desperate to hold onto his humanity and his memories of who and what he was before he became the monster of his own nightmares.

Once again, the world building focuses on the imprisonment, torture and training of young boys; the men and monsters they will become; and the people who destroyed their lives. As the series progresses, each of our story line heroes sets into motion a string of events that will ultimately free both their bodies and their souls finding love and a happily ever after in the arms of a woman that calms the dark and damaged beast. The premise is disturbing and dark; the characters are tragic and intense; the romance is controversial and dramatic-sometimes monster deserve a happily ever after.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 10, 2015

Raised as a prototype for the Georgian Bratva’s obedience drug, 221 fails to think, act, or live for himself; he’s his master’s perfectly-crafted killing puppet. Standing at six-foot-six, weighing two-hundred-and-fifty pounds, and unrivaled in to-the-death combat, 221 successfully secures business for the Georgian Mafiya Boss of NYC, who rules the dark world of the criminal underground. Until his enemies capture him.

Talia Tolstaia dreams to break from the heavy clutches of Bratva life. She dreams of another life–away from the stifling leash of her Russian Bratva Boss father and from the brutality of her work at The Dungeon, her criminal family’s underground death-match enterprise. But when she stumbles upon her family’s captive who is more monster than man, she starts to see the man underneath. A powerful, beautiful, damaged man whose heart calls to hers. But sacrifices must be made–blood for blood…life for life…souls for scarred souls.

REVIEW: REAP is the second installment in Tillie Cole’s contemporary, adult SCARRED SOULS erotic, dark romance series focusing on the Russian Mafia, Georgian Bratva criminal underground, cages fights to the death, and two families torn apart by power and greed. This is Zaal (aka 221), and Talia Tolstoi’s storyline. REAP can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for background history and cohesion.

Told from three first person perspectives (Zaal, Talia, Luka) REAP follows the imprisonment, torture and freedom of enslaved killer Zaal ‘221’ Kostava. Kidnapped as a young boy, 221 has known nothing but pain and poison for the past twenty years: trained to kill; drugged into obedience 221 remembers nothing of his previous life only that he is meant to kill both in and out of the arena; freedom is a distant memory. What ensues is the rescue of 221, and his slow rehabilitation where memories of the past begin to consume his entire world until he meets Talia-the woman who would eventually hold his heart and his soul, but a woman who is a member of the enemy family.

REAP is a violent storyline with graphic language; scenes of rape, vicious abuse and gladiator-style killings. The ‘killers’ are victims of kidnapping, abuse, drug-induced mind control, and a need to kill or be killed. Years living in the dark have left the fighters broken and feral, with no hope for freedom or a chance at a normal life. Trained from a young age, killing and torture is all they have ever known.

REAP is also a story about family. As an eight year old child, Zaal, along with his twin brother Anri, witnessed the execution of his entire family. Anri would become best friends with Luka in the pits of hell; Zaal would become the number one killer in the fighting ring. But the Tolstoi’s and Kostava’s are bitter enemies-murder and revenge but a heartbeat away. Ivan Tolstoi-Talia’s father-is the new king-a man who abhors everything the Kostava’s represent.

Tillie Cole writes a story about forbidden love; a second chance at life; and a broken man whose heart and soul have been shattered by years of torment and abuse. REAP is an emotional storyline that will break your heart for the childhood that never was; for the men that never will be; for the yearning of freedom and what is to come.
