The Time Weaver by Shana Abe – a Review
Time Weaver is the harrowing story of Prince Sandu of Zaharen Yce, and Honor Carlisle of Darkfrith. Two spectacularly gifted beings–even amongst their own kind. A journey that began in the fourth book Treasure Keeper…with a young girl who disappears under mysterious circumstance, without a single trace, and of whom is never to be seen again….or so we thought. What actually occurred was unforeseen. Those truly responsible is shockingly unexpected, and the girl herself is beyond anything contrived of in dreams…or conjured up by nightmares.
This is the culmination of two people from rivaling tribes falling in love. The lengths of which those thirsting for power would travel–while locked within a primal, brutal struggle for dominance. Is destiny truly set in stone, or is it something that can be chosen? Is the future previously determined, or what one can make of it? The answers will be found by a young Drakon female who can weave time into anything she wishes…only to discover that the consequences of such altering, are more dire than could ever be fathomed. Honor will realize that even time has a limit…and that it is running out for she, and for all those she loves.
The only force powerful enough to stop the impending cataclysm, rests with three people unaffected by such an entity as time. Amalia Langford–daughter to the Alpha Drakon’s of Darkfrith. A woman who see’s the future, and who has risked everything to save Honor’s life. A “ghost” by the name of Rez, who is connected to Honor in a way readers will never see coming. And Zane–Amalia’s mortal husband. Honed in the unforgiving streets of London, and as lethal as any of the Drakon race who despise him. A man who would do anything to protect the only light to be found within his dark existence. Even if safeguarding that light…means it will never again choose to shine upon him.
The Time Weaver showcases more suspense, intrigue, and plot twists than any other previous novel. The intricacies, and subtle nuances of this complex, multi-layered story, make it my most favorite since the glorious first two installments, which began this series. I do not know how much higher Shana Abe could possibly take us, but I anxiously look forward to finding out with her next release; The Sweetest Dark.
