ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 16, 2022

Trey Whitt is no stranger to the rock ‘n’ roll life.

New city every night, and a new fling in his bed. He could have any woman he wanted, but he set his sights on me.

After joining A Rebels Havoc, Trey’s not ready for what comes along with his sudden rise to fame. He certainly never could’ve prepared for all his dirty secrets and sex life to be dragged through the headlines.

For all my life, I’ve never been the one who gets chosen, the one all the men desired. I’ve spent the past twenty-two years holding on to my innocence. So when I catch Trey watching me from across the nightclub, I decide he’s the one I want to claim it.

I know better than to think anything more could come from hooking up with a rock star. During my walk of shame the following morning, I’m forced to face reality when he calls me by the wrong name.

No matter how hard it is to forget our night together, I’m determined to put him and his dirty mouth behind me. Only neither of us is ready for the turn our life takes, bringing us back together again.

Secrets, lies, and rumors—each of them could destroy his career and tear us apart.

Yet there’s one secret from our past neither of us saw coming, and when Trey finds out, it could ruin everything we have between us.

Forever.

REVIEW: TREY is the third full-length instalment in Brooke O’Brien’s contemporary, adult A REBEL’S HAVOC erotic, rock star romance series. This is musician Trey Whitt, and hair and make-up artist Layken Grant’s story line. TREY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Trey and Layken) TREY follows in the aftermath of a one-night stand between our leading couple.Trey Whitt couldn’t remember the woman’s name with whom he spent a glorious night but discovering she was a virgin threw our hero for a loop. Desperate to find the woman that stole his heart, Trey would come face to face with Layken Grant at their next concert in town, a concert in which Trey would claim Layken as his own. A few weeks will past when Layken discovers she is pregnant with Trey’s child, a pregnancy that is revealed to the media before our heroine has a chance to tell Trey, herself. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Layken and Trey, and the potential fall-out as Trey’s temper often overrides all good intentions.

Layken Grant went to school with our story line her but Trey doesn’t remember the woman with whom he is falling in love having struggled to forget about much of his past. Trey and Layken grew up in abusive and neglectful households but Layken had always offered Trey her help whenever he needed.

The relationship between Layken and Trey is one of immediate attraction; a one-night stand in which Trey does not know her name, and Layken finds herself doing the walk of shame in front of the band. Neither one can forget about their one night together, and in this, Trey is determined to find Layken and claim her as his own. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, used only once, more for shock value than anything else.

We are reintroduced to A Rebel Havoc’s band: Madden Cole, Brix Ward and Ivy Thomas, Tysin Briggs and Kyla Cole, as well as Layken’s best friends Kate and Rhys.

TREY is a story of family, friendships, fame and love. The premise is entertaining and captivating; the characters are charismatic and lively; the romance is seductive and passionate-the conflict is limited.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 4, 2020

They say time heals all wounds. And maybe they’re right. But what about wounds no one sees? The kind that open again and again? The kind that have you feeling like you swallowed glass?

Those are the wounds I carry. Years of heartbreak have created layer after layer of scar tissue over my whimpering heart.
Everywhere I go, I play the part of rock star, shameless with my cocky attitude and salacious smirks. I deserve an award for how well I can fake being happy.

But then everything changes in my life—again.
Turns out they were right.

After all I’ve been through, I discover my heart can mend itself after all.
Even in the wake of tragedy, the tiny fragments of my heart are fusing back together.

What’s the magic elixir? In my case it turns out to be a stunning beauty with bouncy, caramel waves, a smile that has me forgetting my name, and crystal-blue eyes just like mine.

REVIEW:TREY by A.M. Madden is a contemporary, adult LAIR erotic, rock, romance story line –a spin off from the author’s The Back-Up series. This is Devil’s Lair member and musician Trey Taylor, and graphic designer Camilla Deron’s story line. You do not have to have read the previous series to follow but for cohesion and back story, I recommend reading Backstage and Backstage Pass, from the original series where Trey’s heart breaking story begins.

NOTE: If you have not read the original Back Up series, there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Trey and Camilla) TREY follows the building romance and relationship between Devil’s Lair member and musician Trey Taylor, and graphic designer Camilla Deron. Approximately seven years earlier Trey had a one night with Camilla Deron, and walked away without looking back. Fast forward to present day, wherein, a different and recovering Trey Taylor comes face to face with a woman he barely remembers, but a woman who reveals a secret she has kept close to her heart. Without missing a beat, Trey pushes his way into Camilla’s life, in a effort to become part of a family for which he had always hoped. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Trey and Camilla, and the potential fall-out as Trey’s lifestyle and fame begin to overwhelm and threaten our story line heroine.

Trey Taylor has suffered more than anyone could have imagined. Believing he is not worthy of love, and everyone he loves, in the end, will run or be destroyed, Trey struggles with his growing affection and attraction to Camilla. Camilla Deron has been on her own for many years, and refuses to trust Trey with her heart or her love. Hoping to take things slow, Camilla is pulled head first into Trey’s life including the acceptance of his Devil’s Lair family.

The relationship between Trey and Camilla is one of second chances, of a sort. Trey is desperate to be part of Camilla’s life but Camilla has issues of trust after witnessing (on-line and in the papers) the breakdown and fall-out of the man with whom she will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including the members of the rock group Devil’s Lair: Jack and Leila Lair, and their children: drummer Hunter Amatto, guitarist Scott Malone, Scott, Cannon Davis , Lori Banzini, and Laila’s brother Evan, as well as Camilla’s best friend Debbie and her husband Carson, and little Alivia.

TREY is a story of recovery and second chances; of family, secrets, tragedy revelations and love. The premise is emotional and revealing; the seductive romance is slow to build; the characters are energetic and colorful. TREY is a welcome addition to the Devil’s Lair family.
