Description:
Local cowboy Jasper Taylor has to decide if it’s more important to help his hometown of Ido, Texas win a contest or for him to win the heart of the woman he loves.

The little town of Ido, Texas, is up against some big competition. With the state tourism department on a search for the most romantic town in Texas, Ido is pulling out all the stops to win the title. Leading the effort is the newly appointed hospitality host Jasper Taylor. If he can secure the honor for Ido, he’ll be able to hang onto his family’s land.

But when the reigning Miss Lovin’ Texas and celebrity judge, Delilah Stone, rolls into town, she isn’t exactly welcomed with open arms. Delilah’s ready to put her beauty queen days behind her, and the only thing standing in her way is spending the next thirty days in Ido. It should be an easy gig, but someone in town is tired of all of the recent publicity. Somehow everything that ought to go right is suddenly going wrong.

Now it’s up to Jasper to convince Delilah to give Ido another chance by showing her just how romantic the small town can be…without losing his own heart in the process.

Review:

Crazy About a Cowboy by Dylann Crush is the 3rd book in her Tying the Knot in Texas series.  Crazy about a Cowboy was another fun read in this series, with a fabulous couple who were steamy together.  Delilah Stone, is the current ‘Miss Lovin Texas”, who is in the middle of judging various small towns to choose the most romantic town.  Delilah is on the last leg of this trip, planning to end her days as a pageant queen, moving on to a normal life, running her own business; but Delilah has to spend the last 30 days in the town of IDo.

Jasper Taylor has spent his whole life in IDo, helping his family with their successful pecan farm.  But in the last storm, much of their crop was destroyed, which will take a couple of years to regrow. Jasper hopes to convince his father and brothers on his idea to change over the barn to have weddings, giving them enough money to help regenerate the farming.

Lacey (a previous heroine) is the mayor, and she is determined to win the contest of most romantic small town, and pushes Jasper to be the town’s hospitality host and show Delilah everything about the town.  Jasper was a sweet, wonderful person, always looking out for his family and the town.  Delilah was the surprise, as she was not the usual snobbish queen, but ultra-nice and friendly to everyone, not to mention beautiful.   Jasper at first was somewhat shy, but soon their relationship went to fun friends, then to lovers.  They made such a great couple, enjoying each other’s company, and sizzling chemistry. Will Delilah allow herself to fall in love with Jasper, and stay in IDo?

Delilah got to spend time with Jasper’s family, which were also fun; especially with the bantering between them all.  There is an added element of a brother who left town awhile ago, due to doing something crooked, and Jasper has kept his secret, warning him to never come back; but to his dismay, that will change.

Crazy About a Cowboy was a fun, sweet, entertaining and charming small-town romance, with a great couple and wonderful secondary characters.  Dylann Crush once again gives us a wonderful enjoyable story, that was very well written.  The entire series of three book so far, reads very well as a standalone, but why miss the fun, start with the first book.

Jasper ran his palms over his denim-clad thighs. Delilah Stone had been in town for less than five minutes and he’d already screwed up. How the hell would he explain to his dad that he’d managed to ruin Ido’s run for the title before the judge even made it up the steps of city hall?
“What in the world happened?” Lacey entered her office, her cheeks flushed.
He jumped to his feet. “I don’t know. I was cleaning the pigeon shit off the sidewalk and all of a sudden there she was.”
“You didn’t hear her? See her heading your way?”
Jasper shook his head. “I came around the corner and before I knew what was happening she was soaked through.”
“Don’t worry, you’ll fix this.” Lacey crossed her arms over her chest, her mouth set in a determined line.
“Me?” His stomach dipped. “How do you expect me to do that?”
“I need a hospitality host, and you owe me.”
“Wait a sec. I said I was sorry and I meant it. But I don’t think—”
The office door creaked open. Delilah Stone entered. She’d changed into dry clothes, but her hair still hung in damp curls, framing her heart-shaped face. He’d expected the beauty queen to be, well, beautiful. But beautiful was too dull a word to do justice to the gorgeous woman who’d just entered the mayor’s office.
Lacey rounded the desk and moved toward the door. “Ms. Stone, welcome.”
Jasper rose to his full height and drew in a breath. Then he forced what he hoped looked like a reassuring grin and turned it on Miss Lovin’ Texas herself.
She might have been drenched from head to toe a few minutes ago, but she handled herself with the composure of a queen. Her spine ramrod straight, her face scrubbed free of any trace of makeup, she entered the office like she owned the place.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting you as part of the Most Romantic Small Town in Texas competition.” Lacey glanced toward him and he braced himself for the inevitable introduction. “I’d like you to meet Jasper Taylor, our hospitality host. He’ll be your main point of contact while you’re here in town.”
Jasper shot a look to Lacey, who lifted one shoulder in a slight shrug. Great. He didn’t want to undermine the mayor, even if she’d made an incorrect assumption that he’d changed his mind about taking on the role. He’d let it go for now. But once Ms. Stone left the office, he’d have to set Lacey straight.
“It’s nice to meet you, Ms. Stone. I’m sorry about getting you all wet. Although I’ve gotta say, you look just as pretty soaked right through as you did when you won your title.” He had to give major props to the beauty queen, she didn’t flinch as she slid her hand against his.
Delilah glanced over to Lacey. What the heck was wrong with him? Based on how he was handling his interaction with Delilah, she’d probably never believe he actually held a degree in business and had aced his professional communications courses. For some reason his tongue seemed to get all hog-tied when facing the woman with the smoky green eyes who held the fate of Ido in her soft, delicate hands.
She slipped her fingers out of his grip and followed Lacey toward the desk. “It’s my pleasure, Mr. Taylor.”
“Oh, you can call me Jasper.”
“It’s my pleasure then, Jasper.” The tight smile she gave him held more than a hint of frustration, making him think she’d rather slap him than have to rely on him for anything during her time in Ido. She probably thought Lacey was crazy for putting her trust in him. At least they were on the same page with regard to that.

Review:

Her Kind of Cowboy by Dylann Crush is the second book in her Tying the Knot in Texas series.  This is the first time I have read this author, and I am happy to say I really enjoyed this story.  Her Kind of Cowboy was a fun read, but what is not to love about it; dogs and more dogs, even penguins, and hot couple who were steamy together.

Zina Baxter, our heroine, is Lacey Cherish’s best friend (previous book heroine), and owner of a dog shelter, as well as Lacey’s right hand in handling weddings for the town of I Do’s wedding destination business.  Lacey is the mayor, as well as in charge of building up the town with planning weddings; but she is pregnant and desperately needs Zina help.  Zina has her own problems, as the roof of her shelter has fallen apart, and she needs to find a place to bring the dogs, until the place is fixed

Alex Sanders, our hero, has returned home from his time in Alaska, to visit his sister and grandfather.  Alex’s time in Alaska made him a penguin handler, and when he receives a call from a wealthy man who is planning his daughter’s wedding, and she wants penguins to be a part of it. When Alex visits Lacey at the office, he asks if he can use the warehouse across from the wedding venue, in order to bring the penguins into a safe environment, until the wedding which is months away.  Zina ends up taking Alex to the warehouse to view it, and decides she will need some of that room for the dogs.

Lacey learns that the wedding planner is one of the most famous and she is thrilled, as it will help enhance her destination weddings. With her on bed rest, Zina is put in charge of working with Alex to plan the wedding (wild crazy setup), bring in the penguins to be trained, and have a place for the dogs.  Alex is also being pressured to help his sister, who wants to put the grandfather (Morty) into a home, as he has become difficult.

What follows is a slow build romance between Alex and Zina, as well as the wild crazy group, staying at the warehouse, including the dogs, penguins, grandfather, nieces.  I loved both Alex and Zina, as their chemistry was off the wall. The secondary characters were all very good, and I got a kick out of the niece’s parrot, and loved the dogs.  Zina knew she was falling hard for Alex, but he was a wanderer, unable to stay in one place too long.  Will Alex stay in Texas?

Her Kind of Cowboy was a fun, sweet, humorous & charming small-town romance. The bantering between our couple, as well as all the wonderful secondary characters was great.  Dylann Crush did a great job writing this wonderful story, that was totally enjoyable.  Her Kind of Cowboy reads well as a standalone, but it might be a good idea to read the first book.
