ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 17, 2023

Two lost souls. A past that collides with the present. And secrets. So many secrets…
Unlike his two half brothers, Chance Bridger was raised on the family ranch with the father who left them billions. Still, he hated the man. He’s tried to escape his past, but that’s impossible, especially when it comes back to haunt him in the form of his first and only love.

Special Agent Avery Marsh left Bayfield at eighteen and never looked back, until a field assignment lands her back in her hometown fifteen years later. She’s taken care not to look into Chance Bridger, or even think about him. It would only lead to more heartache, and she’s had enough of that for one lifetime.

When the two former lovers cross paths, time melts away and their passion is still as intense as ever. But one is a murder suspect, and the other has a secret that could change everything.

The thrilling conclusion of The Billion Heirs!

REVIEW:The Billion Heirs series has returned with Broken, the final installment in this gripping series. As always I recommend reading a series in order, this one included, while Broken can be read as a standalone, the series in total makes much more sense.

Chance, Miles and Austin are strangers to one another until they find out they share a father in Jonathan Briger. After he dies, the new brothers learn that to inherit they must live together in Montana for a period of a year. Each brother has their own reasons for staying, and each book gives us their story. We’ve watched as Austin and Miles found what they were looking for, now it’s time for Chance.

Chance is the youngest of the brothers, and was also no stranger to Jonathan Briger. He technically was raised by the man, if what he did could be called child rearing. Their relationship was rocky at best. The only thing that got Chance through life was Avery Marsh. Or at least she was before she up and left him.

Broken is a second chance (no pun intended) romance filled with love, lies and secrets. When Avery returns to Bayfield for the first time in fifteen years, it’s not for fun, she’s here as a FBI agent investigating a death on Chance’s property. But being back is bringing long buried feelings to the surface, feelings that Chance can never know about. Things that Chance can never know about. As Avery digs into the case and secrets become known, the chemistry between the pair flair back to life. Can they let go of the past and move on to a better future? What happens when the case is over, will Avery stay and rebuild or run again?

These authors never disappoint! Broken was the perfect ending to an amazing series. Chance and Avery are a lovely pair that bring mystery and love to life. The brothers become just that through the series, brothers and family.

Who doesn’t love the romance of the old West? USA Today Bestselling author Vanessa Vale takes the sensual appeal of rugged cowboys a step further with her bestselling books set in the Montana Territory. They are much more than just sexy historical westerns. They’re deliciously naughty reads that sometimes push the boundaries of fantasy. It’s pure escapism with quite a few very hot, very alpha cowboys. When she’s not writing, Vanessa savors the insanity of raising two boys, is figuring out how many meals she can make with a pressure cooker, and teaches a pretty mean karate class. She considers herself to be remarkably normal, exceedingly introverted and fairly vanilla, which does not explain her steamy stories and her fascination with cowboys, preferably more than one at a time. She lives in the Wild Wild West where there’s an endless source of ‘research’ material.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 15,2022

The bad boy brother. The by-the-books detective. A random meeting that will change their lives.

Miles Bridger would rather be home in New York than stuck on a Montana ranch with his newfound half brothers, thanks to his deadbeat dad’s will. Miles now works with bulls and hay bales instead of custom bikes. He keeps his sense of humor about the whole thing…until a dead body surfaces on the ranch and he and his brothers are thrown headfirst into a murder investigation.

Sadie Hopkins plays by the rules in her job as detective, so she’s only too happy to turn a little naughty during a bachelorette party dare. Heat flares between Sadie and the gorgeous blond man she approaches, but when a high-profile case crosses her desk the next day, she’s in for a surprise. The man from the bar is none other than Miles Bridger…and he’s a murder suspect.

Despite this revelation, Miles and Sadie’s chemistry sizzles. But the flawed Miles doesn’t do relationships, and Sadie’s past crashes into the present with a surprising discovery that could spell danger for both of them.

REVIEW:When these two authors get together, it is always a fabulous time! Flawed is the second installment in The Billion Heirs Trilogy and surrounds three newly found brothers, Miles, Austin and Chance. As always, I recommend reading a series in order to get the best out of it, but Flawed can be read as a standalone.

This book gave all the feels of a small town romance, but with underlying tones of bad boy with a heart of gold romance, but maybe that was just me.

Miles’ life has been turned on its axis. One moment he is living his best life doing what he loves in the hustle and bustle of New York, to rural no man’s land of Montana herding bull and shovelling poo. Thanks to his “never gave a crap” sperm donor, Miles now finds himself with three new step brothers and his life going in a completely different direction than he thought.

In an attempt to clear his head, Miles hops on his latest motorcycle and takes a ride. This leads him to a meet cute with a woman he can’t seem to help not talking to. One thing leads to another, and she ends up on the back of his bike. When morning comes, Miles still can’t get the woman out of his mind, even if she left his bed. Miles returns to what has become his life, only to find that a body has been found on their property. And who is the one to investigate this?

The girl from the bar. She’s a cop, she’s here in his home. What does he do?

This book totally has it all, mystery, excitement, spicy bits and sarcasm too. Sadie and Miles light up the pages with their chemistry and the family drama is no laughing matter either. Two of the three brothers have found love on the ranch. Only Chance is left, and boy oh boy, I can’t wait for his story!!

REVIEW: “I…I don’t have a home.”

“I don’t have one either, But baby, I think I just realized that home isn’t a place. It’s a person. And my home’s with you.”

Excuse me while I go sob into a dark corner. Helen Hardt and Vanessa Vale have taken their talents to the next level with their newest series. Scarred is a tale of light and dark, family and fear, betrayal and hope and loss and love. The first in the new series, Scarred offers a beautiful journey with amazing characters.

All Austin wants to do is help his sickly mother and save his flight business. He does nothing but work and tries his best, but nothing ever seems to give enough for him to move forward. When he finds out that the father that never wanted him left him an inheritance, he sees a faint hope that life is looking up. Too bad to gain the billions that the old man left, he has to go live in the middle of nowhere Montana on his father’s ranch. Best of all that also includes meeting and then living with two brothers as well. With his mother getting worse and no end in sight, Austin has no choice but to take the chance.

Little did he know what was waiting for him.

Carly used to be a normal college student, she came and went to classes, went to parties with her friends, that was until she was abducted from a small town diner. Three years later, she’s home, but not unscathed, she has scars. One that you can see, and ones you can’t. Determined to find some sense of normalcy, she takes a job at Bridger Ranch in the stables where there aren’t many people and she can help the animals. When she meets Austin all her plans fly out the window. Sparks and feelings she thought were long dead rise to the surface, but can she let her past go long enough to let Austin in.

Austin and Carly are like a balm to each other, neither believing that the past they each carry would allow them happiness. Nonetheless, on the ranch they find more than just each other, they find family.

Oh how I loved this read. It was so soulful, Vale and Hardt sure know how to tug on the heartstrings. I loved Carly and Austin together, but also how their brothers bond and come to love each other. That is family, no matter where they come from. I can’t wait to see what brother is coming next.

••••••••••••••••

REVIEW:  FIGHT FOR HER is the first instalment in Vanessa Vale’s contemporary adult MMA FIGHTER ROMANCE series. This is former MMA fighter and gym owner Grayson Green, and practical nurse/single mom Emory.

NOTE: FIGHT FOR HER is a re-release and former titled 2016 novel Naked Choke.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Emory and Grayson) FIGHT FOR HER focuses on the building relationship between thirty eight year old practical nurse Emory, and former MMA fighter Grayson ‘The Green Machine’ Green. Having met at a mutual friend’s engagement party Emory and Grayson were immediately attracted to one another but Grayson didn’t want to push Emory too fast realizing that the woman with whom he would fall in love had no idea who he was, or what he did for a living. Emory was a single mother whose only child recently left for college but in the ensuing time our heroine struggled with her new independence. With little experience and even less knowledge about the who and what of Grayson Green, Emory and Grayson would take their time until a series of threats and a break in pushed Emory into Grayson’s arms. What ensues is the building relationship between Emory and Grayson, a threat focused on scaring our story line heroine, and the embittered battle with someone from Grayson’s past.

The attraction between Gray and Emory is immediate but our heroine is a divorced mother of one and wary about what it is Grayson has to offer. Grayson struggles with his attraction to Emory and the possibility of bringing her into his world-a world embattled with demons from the past. The $ex scenes are intimate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language or text.

We are introduced to fellow MMA fighters Reed and Rob (aka Thor) as well as Emory’s neighbour (and wingman) Simon, several friends including newly engaged Paul and Christy, and the owners of a local family run restaurant-the Casales.

I do have one issue and that is the fact that our heroine was never gifted a last name by the author. I struggle to accept in today’s society that story book characters, especially women in a leading role, are relegated to first name only as though they were second class citizens and never entirely recognized.

FIGHT FOR HER is a slow building story of romance and revenge. The premise is optimistic and intriguing ; the romance is tender, affectionate and spicy; the characters are colorful and dynamic. FIGHT FOR HER is an enjoyable read that will captivate your imagination.

French Fries — What’s your favorite?

There’s a debate in my house about the best ‘cut’ of a french fry. There’s waffle, steak fries, wedge, shoestring, curly… the list is long! I, personally, love the shoestring fry the best. They’re thin and crispy and there’s an equal balance of salt and potato. My husband likes the steak fry… boo. My kids like waffle fries and tater tots (that doesn’t really count as a fry, but they still like them). This makes dinner tough because no one is ever happy. We have to do a rotation of fry types so we each get what we want eventually. Do you have something like this in your house? Salad dressing, how well done a steak should be, how much mayo in tuna… I want to know!
