ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 27, 2025

When the board of directors of my company mandated that I go to a wellness facility in small-town Maine to recharge, that shouldn’t have included:

1. Using a ladder to sneak out of the bedroom window at night and going to the local bar.
2. Getting so drunk that the bar owner brought me upstairs to sleep it off in his bed.
3. Waking up staring at the taxidermy moose head on said bar owner’s wall.
4. Falling for said bar owner who was the most drop-dead gorgeous man I’ve ever seen.

But Brock Hawkins was so much more than just the hot bar owner. He owned half the town, built log cabins with his bare hands, and was apparently the most eligible man in all of Meadowbrook.
He was also a cinnamon roll despite his seemingly rock-hard exterior.

And the last man I should’ve been falling for—because my time in this small town was limited.
I had to head back to my life in New York City, one that was the complete opposite from the kind Brock lived.

He was denim. I was diamonds.

The problem was, the sexy lumberjack wasn’t the type of man who was easy to walk away from. Hell, I couldn’t even part with his plaid shirt that had become a constant fixture wrapped around my shoulders most days, let alone think about erasing him from my life. A life with Brock, though, would have to be all or nothing.

Go big or go home.

I just didn’t realize that choosing to go big might also mean getting my heart broken when Brock’s life took a turn neither of us saw coming.

REVIEW: DENIM AND DIAMONDS co-authored by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward is a contemporary, adult, erotic, romance story line focusing on bar owner Brock Hawkins, and business woman February Shaw.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Brock and February) DENIM AND DIAMONDS follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. February Shaw designs one of a kind purses, and owns a multi-million dollar company but when the board of directors demands she take a leave of absence, our heroine finds herself at a wellness resort in Meadowbrook Maine, where she will come face to face with her future in the guise of bar owner Brock Hawkins. Refusing to abide by the rules, February manages to sneak out of the rehab facility, and after a night of drinking finds herself in a strangers bed, staring at a wall of animal heads. Brock Hawkins had no idea that the woman asleep in his bed would be the woman that is about to break his heart but as the days and weeks go by, Brock finds himself falling for a woman who is unable to commit. Life is about to send Brock into a spiral, changing the direction of his lifetime plans, and the woman he loves, refuses to sacrifice her plans for someone else.

The world building focuses on choices and sacrifice. Brock Hawkins is falling in love with a woman who is his complete opposite, a woman who thrives in the world of high finance and business deals. February feels out of place in the quiet solitude of Meadowbrook Maine, where everyone knows everyone else but our heroine never expected to fall in love with a man whose entire life revolves around the people and land but Brock is about to discover that his life is no longer under his control, and the woman he loves, struggles to accept the changes in his life.

The relationship between Brock and February is one of immediate attraction but February’s arrival in town is for recovery and relaxation in the wake of professional burn out. Unable to relax, February finds herself looking for a temporary relationship with our story line hero, a man who is about to fall in love with a woman who is unable to commit. Both having been burned in the past, February battles between head and heart, as the man whom she has fallen in love, is much more than the lumberjack who took the time to rescue his girl. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Brock’s brothers Axe, Elvin, Maddox and Trevor; social media influencer Morgan Flowers; as well as several townies and live and work in Meadowbrook Maine; February’s exes Johnathon and Tobias, and Brock’s ex Nina. I hope the authors have plans for Brock’s brothers.

DENIM AND DIAMONDS is a story of country vs big city, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is captivating and emotional;the romance is heart breaking and fated; the characters are determined, broken, and struggling to heal.

As a college English professor, Elizabeth looks forward to the start of each new semester teaching her creative writing seminar. At least until she reads chapter one of The Reckoning, a tale about a high school senior who has an affair with her teacher. To anyone else it would be the beginning of a great page-turner, but to Elizabeth it is the beginning of the end.

She knows this story. It’s all familiar because she lived it. The girl in the story was her best friend Jocelyn, and Elizabeth knows exactly how the story will end—with the professor dead. Because she was the one who killed him.

Someone knows what Elizabeth did twenty years ago and her secret is about to be exposed, but who is the mystery student submitting the chapters? In an effort to find out, Elizabeth returns to her Louisiana hometown where it soon becomes clear that no matter how many years have gone by, she can’t escape her past.

REVIEW:SOMEONE KNOWS by Vi Keeland is a contemporary, adult, thriller focusing on thirty-seven year old English professor Elizabeth Davis.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from first person perspective (Elizabeth) with one final chapter by Noah, using present day, memories and email chapters, SOMEONE KNOWS focuses on Elizabeth’s search for the truth. Fast forward to present day, Elizabeth returns to her home town in Louisiana, to discover all was not well: Elizabeth’s mother is ill, and the tight knit group of parishioners and friends have Elizabeth on edge with what they could possibly know. Having been befriended by a man ten years her junior, Elizabeth begins an affair in her home town only to discover, their introduction had been predicated upon a lie.

SOMEONE KNOWS is a detailed, complex and twisted story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, power and control, dysfunctional family dynamics. From addiction and abuse to mental illness and murder, and the righteousness of religious beliefs, we are up close and personal with the lives destroyed by one man, and his lecherous need to extinguish young minds.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 13, 2025

He’s her boss. She’s his greatest temptation.

The first time I met Dawson Reed, we wound up in bed.
The problem was, neither of us knew the other were there.
When I woke up in the middle of the night and found a stranger next to me, instinct kicked in and I attacked the intruder.
Only it turned out, the man wasn’t an intruder at all.
Dawson had rented this cabin, too. Apparently, a system glitch allowed a duplicate booking.
We’d soon find out we were in town for the same wedding, and Dawson was the groomsman I’d been warned about. He was as tall, dark and jaw-droppingly gorgeous as my best friend had described. Though she was also right when she’d said you two will hate each other.
When daylight rolled around, Dawson and I attempted to straighten out the mess we found ourselves in. But it proved to be more difficult than we initially thought. Since it was a holiday weekend, there wasn’t a single room available for more than fifty miles.
I suppose things could be worse than sharing a cabin for a weekend with a handsome man you despise.
Like maybe him winding up being your new boss?

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 17, 2024

I was the last of my group of friends to find “the one.”
The guys would always tease me that I needed to hurry up and settle down.
But I was in no rush.
Until I met someone worth rushing for.

Alex was one of the weekend volunteers at Ryan’s House—a charity I founded to build housing near hospitals.
Little did I know she was the same person I’d been arguing with over email before the project started. At the time, I’d thought Alex was a dude.
In reality? She was a smoking hot blonde who captivated me from the moment we met in person.
Our chemistry was off the charts, and I fell hard pretty fast.
Unfortunately, Alex insisted I was too young for her. I hated that she felt that way. Because age was just a number.
Not only that, her words didn’t match the way she looked at me—like she was very interested.

I lived for the weekends we’d spend out of town volunteering. Alex and I side-by-side hammering during the day, while sharing intimate dinners together at the hotel at night.
Eventually, the walls she’d put up to protect her heart began to crumble.
Until fate threw us a doozy that I wasn’t sure we could come back from.
If I’d thought our age gap was the biggest hurdle, I didn’t know anything yet.
Rule number one for dating an older woman who insists you could never be together?
Don’t fall in love.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 15, 2024

When life took an unexpected turn, I decided to get out of New York for a while. What better place to go than the idyllic small town my father spoke about so fondly when I was growing up? Laurel Lake held the title America’s Friendliest Town for seventeen years running, and friendly was just what I needed right now.

Unfortunately, friendly wasn’t the welcome I got when I arrived.

Instead, I got Fox Cassidy. My tall, dark, and burly neighbor, who grunted at me instead of saying hello.

Okay, so I might’ve had his mailbox in my hands the first time we met. And it might’ve been a little crushed after removing it from under my tire. And I might’ve needed his help breaking into the place I was staying in after the key broke off in the lock. But still…he didn’t have to be so grumpy.

As time went on though, I started to notice things about Fox other than his glares. Like how he watched me when he thought I wasn’t looking, or how fire ignited in his eyes whenever we bickered. Though I was in Laurel Lake to escape my problems, not create new ones. And getting involved with a man like Fox screamed trouble, even if he was gorgeous and unlike any man I’d ever met.

But alas, problem seemed to be my middle name this year. So why not have some fun while I was here for the summer? It seemed like a good plan. At least until it was time to go home…

They say what happens at the lake, stays at the lake. But it’s not so easy to walk away when what stays behind…is your heart.

Years earlier, Josie’s grandmother, and subsequently her father died, leaving our heroine the family property but on ‘leave’ from work, Josie makes the decision to leave Manhattan only to discover the property at Laurel Lake in disrepair. Accidentally meeting her grumpy neighbor Fox Cassidy forced our heroine to reconsider everything about Laurel Lake including the town’s reputation as America’s Friendliest. As Laurel struggles with a myriad of home repairs, Fox knows the neighborly thing would be to help but it is not until someone else takes an interest does Fox step up his game. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Fox and Josie, and the fall-out as Fox’s demons refuse to let go, sending our hero into a spiral from which he may not return.

Individually, each has a story that has shaped their current direction in life but Fox’s past continues to control his present, and with it, he is unable to let go. The relationship between Fox and Josie begins acrimoniously as Josie’s slightly flighty attitude sets Fox’s teeth on edge.Josie has become the town’s newest daughter, and the gossip chain refuses to let anything die, and Fox and Josie’s life becomes fodder for the town. As Fox and Josie’s relationship turns into something more, the ghosts continue to haunt our hero, pushing the woman he loves out of his life. Rule number one for having a one-night stand: Don’t fall for the girl.
After a lengthy dating slump, I finally met someone who sparked my interest.
Well, first the sparks flew when we argued. Later in the evening those sparks ignited into something more.
I was drawn to Devyn, in a way I hadn’t felt in a really long time.
Needless to say, I was disappointed when she abruptly left after our amazing night together.
I couldn’t stop thinking about her. But she hadn’t even given me her number.
In a city with eight-million people, I figured I’d never see Devyn again.
So imagine my surprise when I knocked on the door of an apartment in the building I lived in, and none other than my one-night stand stood on the other side.
If I thought Devyn didn’t want anything to do with me before, that was nothing compared to how she felt after finding out I was the landlord and she was about to be evicted…
And that was just the first surprise that would rock my world when it came to the mystery woman in apartment 410.
